with_o and_o trial_n shall_v be_v make_v in_o his_o knowledge_n of_o the_o ground_n of_o religion_n and_o ability_n to_o defend_v the_o orthodox_n doctrine_n contain_v in_o they_o against_o all_o unsound_a and_o erroneous_a opinion_n especial_o these_o of_o the_o present_a age_n of_o his_o skill_n in_o the_o sense_n and_o meaning_n of_o such_o place_n of_o scripture_n as_o shall_v be_v propose_v unto_o he_o in_o case_n of_o conscience_n and_o in_o the_o chronology_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o the_o ecclesiastical_a history_n 4._o if_o he_o have_v not_o before_o preach_v in_o public_a with_o approbation_n of_o such_o as_o be_v able_a to_o judge_v he_o shall_v at_o a_o competent_a time_n assign_v he_o expound_v before_o the_o presbytery_n such_o a_o place_n of_o scripture_n as_o shall_v be_v give_v he_o 5._o he_o shall_v also_o within_o a_o competent_a time_n frame_v a_o discourse_n in_o latin_a upon_o such_o a_o common_a place_n or_o controversy_n in_o divinity_n as_o shall_v be_v assign_v he_o and_o exhibit_v to_o the_o presbytery_n such_o thesis_n as_o express_v the_o sum_n thereof_o and_o maintain_v a_o dispute_n upon_o they_o 6._o he_o shall_v preach_v before_o the_o people_n the_o presbytery_n or_o some_o of_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o word_n appoint_v by_o they_o be_v present_a 7._o the_o proportion_n of_o his_o gift_n in_o relation_n to_o the_o place_n unto_o which_o he_o be_v call_v shall_v be_v consider_v 8._o beside_o the_o trial_n of_o his_o gift_n in_o preach_v he_o shall_v undergo_v a_o examination_n in_o the_o premise_n two_o several_a day_n and_o more_o if_o the_o presbytery_n shall_v judge_v it_o necessary_a 9_o and_o as_o for_o he_o that_o have_v be_v former_o ordain_v a_o minister_n and_o be_v to_o be_v remove_v to_o another_o charge_n he_o shall_v bring_v a_o testimonial_a of_o his_o ordination_n and_o of_o his_o ability_n and_o conversation_n whereupon_o his_o fitness_n for_o that_o place_n shall_v be_v try_v by_o his_o preach_v there_o if_o it_o shall_v be_v judge_v necessary_a by_o a_o further_a examination_n of_o he_o 3._o in_o all_o which_o he_o be_v approve_v he_o be_v to_o be_v send_v to_o the_o church_n appoint_v for_o the_o trial_n of_o his_o gift_n in_o preach_v there_o shall_v be_v send_v from_o the_o presbytery_n to_o the_o congregation_n a_o public_a intimation_n in_o writing_n which_o shall_v be_v public_o read_v before_o the_o people_n and_o after_o affix_v to_o the_o church_n door_n to_o signify_v thaâ—_n such_o a_o day_n a_o competent_a number_n of_o the_o member_n of_o that_o
