arm_n ammunition_n ordnance_n and_o other_o carriage_n and_o to_o join_v with_o such_o other_o force_n of_o horse_n and_o foot_n as_o be_v under_o the_o command_n of_o the_o earl_n of_o manchester_n and_o sir_n william_n waller_n or_o either_o of_o they_o according_a as_o they_o shall_v be_v direct_v by_o both_o house_n or_o the_o committee_n of_o both_o kingdom_n to_o resist_v and_o subdue_v the_o force_n raise_v without_o authority_n of_o parliament_n and_o to_o recover_v and_o preserve_v such_o place_n as_o be_v now_o possess_v by_o the_o enemy_n and_o for_o prevention_n of_o such_o inconvenience_n as_o by_o experience_n have_v be_v discover_v to_o fall_v out_o in_o former_a expedition_n by_o give_v great_a sum_n of_o money_n before_o hand_n to_o hire_a soldier_n and_o by_o their_o refuse_n to_o serve_v unless_o they_o may_v have_v their_o own_o demand_n it_o be_v further_a ordain_v that_o no_o advance_n shall_v be_v henceforth_o give_v before_o hand_n to_o any_o soldier_n hire_v or_o to_o be_v hire_v beside_o their_o weekly_a pay_n and_o that_o the_o committee_n of_o the_o militia_n and_o their_o subcommittee_n respective_o shall_v have_v power_n to_o impress_n within_o their_o several_a limit_n all_o such_o person_n as_o shall_v be_v by_o they_o think_v fit_a to_o be_v hire_v to_o serve_v in_o this_o expedition_n except_v such_o person_n as_o be_v except_v in_o the_o ordinance_n of_o parliament_n make_v the_o 12_o of_o july_n last_o 1644._o and_o it_o be_v further_a ordain_v that_o the_o say_a committee_n shall_v have_v power_n and_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v to_o call_v back_o such_o force_n as_o they_o shall_v command_v to_o march_v forth_o by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n when_o they_o shall_v think_v fit_a and_o that_o all_o the_o say_a colonel_n lieutenant_n colonel_n captain_n officer_n soldier_n and_o other_o person_n under_o the_o command_n of_o the_o say_a committee_n of_o the_o militia_n whether_o master_n or_o servant_n shall_v obey_v the_o direction_n of_o the_o say_a committee_n of_o the_o militia_n from_o time_n to_o time_n upon_o pain_n of_o imprisonment_n or_o expulsion_n out_o of_o the_o limit_n aforesaid_a and_o such_o other_o punishment_n as_o the_o say_a committee_n shall_v think_v fit_a to_o impose_v upon_o they_o by_o reasonable_a fine_n or_o according_a to_o the_o course_n of_o war_n and_o to_o levy_v the_o say_a fine_n by_o distress_n and_o sale_n of_o their_o good_n and_o to_o employ_v the_o same_o for_o the_o service_n of_o the_o city_n as_o the_o say_a committee_n shall_v appoint_v and_o all_o subcommittee_n make_v or_o to_o be_v make_v constable_n headborough_n provost_n marshal_n and_o other_o officer_n be_v hereby_o require_v to_o be_v aid_v and_o assist_v from_o time_n to_o time_n for_o the_o better_a further_a and_o effect_v all_o such_o service_n as_o be_v contain_v or_o intend_v by_o this_o ordinance_n according_a as_o they_o shall_v be_v direct_v by_o the_o say_a committee_n within_o the_o limit_n aforesaid_a as_o they_o will_v answer_v the_o contrary_a under_o the_o penalty_n herein_o mention_v and_o it_o be_v further_a ordain_v that_o all_o such_o force_n as_o shall_v be_v send_v forth_o by_o the_o say_a committee_n of_o the_o militia_n by_o virtue_n of_o this_o ordinance_n shall_v be_v pay_v during_o their_o continuance_n abroad_o by_o the_o parliament_n according_a to_o the_o new_a establishment_n of_o the_o army_n under_o his_o excellency_n the_o earl_n of_o essex_n and_o it_o be_v further_a ordain_v that_o the_o subcommittee_n appoint_v or_o to_o be_v appoint_v by_o the_o say_a committee_n of_o the_o militia_n shall_v have_v power_n and_o be_v hereby_o authorize_v to_o cause_v all_o or_o any_o the_o clause_n contain_v in_o
