Is any thing too hard for the LORD At the time appointed will I return unto thee according to the time of life Sarah shall have a son 15 Then Sarah denied saying I laughed not for she was afraid And he said Nay but thou didst laugh 16 ¶ And the men rose up from thence and looked toward Sodom and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way 17 And the LORD said Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do 18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation and all the nations of the earth shall be * Ch. 12.3 22.18 Acts 3.25 Gal. 3.8 blessed in him 19 For I know him that he will command his children and his houshold after him and they shall keep the way of the LORD to do justice and judgement that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him 20 And the LORD said Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous 21 I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it which is come unto me and if not I will know 22 And the men turned their faces from thence and went toward Sodom but Abraham stood yet before the LORD 23 ¶ And Abraham drew near and said Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked 24 Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein 25 That be far from thee to do after this manner to slay the righteous with the wicked and that the righteous should be as the wicked that be far from thee Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right 26 And the LORD said If I finde in Sodom fifty righteous within the city then I will spare all the place for their sakes 27 And Abraham answered and said Behold now I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord which am but dust and ashes 28 Peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five And he said If I finde there fourty and five I will not destroy it 29 And he spake unto him yet again and said Peradventure there shall be fourty found there And he said I will not do it for fourties sake 30 And he said unto him O let not the Lord be angry and I will speak Peradventure there shall thirty be found there And he said I will not do it if I finde thirty there 31 And he said Behold now I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord Peradventure there shall be twenty found there And he said I will not destroy it for twenties sake 32 And he said O let not the Lord be angry and I will speak yet but this once Peradventure ten shall be found there And he said I will not destroy it for tens s●ke 33 And the LORD went his way assoon as he had left communing with Abraham and Abraham return●d unto his place CHAP. XIX 1 Lot entertaineth two angels 4 The vi●ious Sodomites are stricken with … ss 12 Lot is 〈◊〉 for safety into the mountains 18 He obtaineth leave to ●o into 〈◊〉 24 Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed 26 Lots wife is a p●llar of salt 30 Lot dwelleth in a cave 31 The incestuous original of Moab and Ammon ANd there came two angels to Sodom at even and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground 2 And the said Behold now my lords turn in I pray you into your servants house and tarry all night and * Chap. 18.4 wash your feet and ye shall rise up early and go on your ways And they said Nay but we will abide in the street all night 3 And he pressed upon them greatly and they turned in unto hi● and entred into his ho●se and he made them a 〈◊〉 and did bake unleavened bread and th●● did eat 4 ¶ But before they say down the men of the city even the men of Sodom compassed the house round both old and young all the people from every quarter 5 And they called unto Lot and said unto him Where are the men which came in to thee this night bring them out unto us that we may know them 6 And Lot went out at the door unto them shut the door after him 7 And said I pray you or brethren do not so wicked●y 8 Behold now I have two daughters which have not known man let 〈◊〉 I pray you bring them out unto you and do ye to them as is good in 〈…〉 onely unto these men do nothing for therefore came they under the the 〈◊〉 of my 〈◊〉 9 And they said Stand ●●●k And they said again This one fe●●ow came in to sojourn and he will needs be a judge Now will we deal worse with thee then with them And they pressed sore upon the man even Lot and came near to break the door 10 But the men put forth their hand and pulled Lot into the house to them and shut to the door 11 And they smote the men * Wisd 19.17 that were at the door of the house with blindness both small and great so that they wearied themselves to finde the door 12 ¶ And the men said unto Lot Hast thou here any besides son in law and thy sons and thy daughters and whatsoever thou hast in the city bring them out of this place 13 For we will destroy this place because the * Chap. 18.20 cry of them is waxen great before the face of the LORD the LORD hath sent us to destroy it 14 And Lot went out and spake unto his sons in law which married his daughters and said Up get ye out of this place for the LORD will destroy this city but he seemed as one that mocked unto his sons in law 15 ¶ And when the morning arose then the angels hastned Lot saying Arise take thy wife and thy two daughters which † Heb. are found are here lest thou be consumed in the ‖ Or punishment iniquity of the city 16 And * Wisd 10.6 while he lingred the men laid hold upon his hand and upon the hand of his wife and upon the hand of his two daughters the LORD being merciful unto him and they brought him forth and set him without the city 17 And it came to pass when they had brought them forth abroad that he said Escape for thy life look not behinde thee neither stay thou in all the plain escape to the mountain lest thou be consumed 18 And Lot said unto them Oh not so my Lord. 19 Behold now thy servant hath found grace in thy sight and thou hast magnified thy mercy which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life and I cannot escape to the mountain lest

XX. 1 Abraham sojourneth at Gerar 2 denieth his wife and loseth her 3 Abimelech is reproved for her in a dream 9 He rebuketh Abraham 14 restoreth Sarah 16 and reproveth her 17 He is healed by Abrahams prayer ANd Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south-countrey and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur and sojourned in Gerar. 2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife She is my sister And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah 3 But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night and said to him Behold thou art but a dead man for the woman which thou hast taken for she is † Heb. married to an husband a mans wife 4 But Abimelech had not come near her and he said LORD wilt thou slay also a righteous nation 5 Said he not unto me She is my sister and she even she her self said He is my brother in the ‖ Or simplicity or sincerity integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this 6 And God said unto him in a dream Yea I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart for I also withheld thee from sinning against me therefore suffered I thee not to touch her 7 Now therefore restore the man his wife for he is a prophet and he shall pray for thee and thou shalt live and it thou restore her not know thou that thou shalt surely die thou and all that are thine 8 Therefore Abimelech rose early in the morning and called all his servants and told all these things in their ears and the men were sore afraid 9 Then Abimelech called Abraham and said unto him What hast thou done unto us and what have I offended thee that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done 10 And Abimelech said unto Abraham What sawest thou that thou hast done this thing 11 And Abraham said because I thought Surely the fear of God is not in this place and they will slay me for my wives sake 12 And yet indeed she is my sister she is the daughter of my father but not the daughter of my mother and she became my wife 13 And it came to pass when God caused me to wander from my fathers house that I said unto her This is thy kindness which thou shalt shew unto me At every place whither we shall come * Chap. 12.13 say of me He is my brother 14 And Abimelech took sheep and oxen and men-servants and women-servants and gave them unto Abraham and restored him Sarah his wife 15 And Abimelech said Behold my land is before thee dwell † Heb. as is good in thine eyes where it pleaseth thee 16 And unto Sarah he said Behold I have given thy brother a thousand pieces of silver behold he is to thee a covering of the eyes unto all that are with thee and with all other thus she was reproved 17 ¶ So Abraham prayed unto God and God healed Abimelech and his wife and his maid servants and they bare children 18 For the LORD had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech because of Sarah Abrahams wife CHAP. XV. 1 The borders of the lot of Judah 13 Calebs portion and conquest 16 Othniel for his valour hath Achsah Calebs daughter to wife 18 She obtaineth a blessing of her father 21 The cities of Judah 63 The Jebusites not conquered THis then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families * Numb 34.3 even to the border of Edom the * Numb 33.36 wilderness of Zin south-ward was the uttermost part of the south-coast 2 And their south-border was from the shore of the salt-sea from the † Heb. tongue bay that looketh south-ward 3 And it went out to the south-side to ‖ Or the going up to Acrabbim Maaleh-acrabbim and passed along to Zin and ascended up on the south-side unto Cadesh barnea and passed along to Hezron and went up to Adar and fetched a compass to Karkaa 4 From thence it passed toward Azmon and went out unto the river of Egypt and the goings out of that coast were at the sea this shall be your south-coast 5 And the east-border was the salt-sea even unto the end of Jordan and their border in the north-quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan 6 And the border went up to Beth-hogla and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben 7 And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor and so north-ward looking toward Gilgal that is before the going up to Adummim which is on the south-side of the river and the border passed towards the waters of Enshemesh and the goings out thereof were at * 1 King ● 8 En-rogel 8 And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south-side of the Jebusite the fame is Jerusalem the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom west-ward which is at the end of the valley of the giants north-ward 9 And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephroah and went out to the cities of mount Ephron and the border was drawn to Baalah which is Kirjath-jearim 10 And the border compassed from Baalah west-ward unto mount Seir and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim which is Chesalon on the north-side went down to Beth-shemesh passed on to Timnah 11 And the border went out unto the side of Ekron north-ward and the border was drawn to Shicron passed along to mount Baalah and went out unto Jabneel and the goings out of the border were at the sea 12 And the west-border was to the great sea and the coast thereof this is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families 13 ¶ And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua even * Chap. 14.15 ‖ Or Kirjath-arba the city of Arba the father of Anak which city is Hebron 14 And Caleb drove thence * Judg. 1.10 the three sons of Anak Sheshai and Ahiman and Talmai the children of Anak 15 And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir and the name of Debir before was Kirjath-sepher 16 ¶ And Caleb said He that smiteth Kirjath-sepher and taketh it to him will I give Achsah my

XVI 1 The general borders of the sons of Joseph 5 The border of the inheritance of Ephraim 10 The Canaanites not conquered ANd the lot of the children of Joseph † Heb. went forth fell from Jordan by Jericho unto the water of Jericho on the east to the wilderness that goeth up from Jericho throughout mount Beth-el 2 And goeth out from Beth-el to * Judg. ● 26 Luz and passeth along unto the borders of Archi to Ataroth 3 And goeth down west-ward to the coast of Japhleti unto the coast of Beth-horon the nether and to Gezer and the goings out thereof are at the sea 4 So the children of Joseph Manasseh and Ephraim took their inheritance 5 ¶ And the border of the children of Ephraim according to their families was thus even the border of their inheritance on the east-side was Ataroth-addar unto Bath-horon the upper 6 And the border went out toward the sea to Michmethah on the north-side and the border went about east-ward unto Taanath-shiloh and passed by it on the east to Janohah 7 And it went down from from Janohah to Ataroth and to Naarath and came to Jericho and went out at Jordan 8 The border went out from Tappuah west-ward unto the river Kanah and the goings out thereof were at the sea This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Ephraim by their families 9 And the separate cities for the children of Ephraim were among the inheritance of the children of Manasseh all the cities with their villages 10 And they drave not out the Canaanites that dwelt in Gezer but the Canaanites dwell among the Ephraimites unto this day and serve under tribute CHAP. XVII 1 The lot of Manasseh 7 His coast 12 The Canaanites not driven out 14 The children of Joseph obtain another lot THere was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh for he was the * Gen. 41.51 46.20 first-born of Joseph to wit for * Gen. 50.23 Numb 32 3● Machir the first-born of Manasseh the father of Gilead because he was a man of war therefore he had Gilead and Bashan 2 There was also a lot for * Numb 26.29 the rest of the children of Manasseh by their families for the children of Abiezer and for the children of Helek and for the children of Asriel and for the children of Shechem and for the children of Hepher and for the children of Shemida these were the male-children of Manasseh the son of Joseph by their families 3 ¶ But * Numb 25.33 27.1 and 36.2 Zelophehad the son of Hephir the son of Gilead the son of Machir the son of Manasseh had no sons but daughters and these are the names of his daughters Mahlah and Noah Hoglah Milcah and Tirzah 4 And they came near before Eleazar the priest and before Joshua the son of Nun and before the princes saying The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren therefore according to the commandment of the LORD he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father 5 And there fell ten portions to Manasseh beside the land of Gilead and Bashan which were on the other side Jordan 6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his sons and the rest of Manassehs sons had the land of Gilead 7 ¶ And the coast of Manasseh was from Asher to Michmethah that lieth before Shechem and the border went along on the right hand into the inhabitants of En-Tappuah 8 Now Manasseh had the land of Tappuah but Tappuah on the border of Manasseh belonged to the children of Ephraim 9 And the coast descended unto the ‖ Or brook of r●eds river Kanah south-ward of the
49 The children of Israel give an inheritance to Joshua ANd the second lot came forth to Simeon even for the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah 2 And they had in their inheritance Beer-sheba and Sheba and Moladah 3 And Hazar-shual and Balah and Azem 4 And Eltolad and Bethul and Hormah 5 And Ziklag and Beth-marcaboth and Hazar-susah 6 And Beth-lebaoth and Sharuhen thirteen cities and their villages 7 Ain Remmon and Ether and Ashan four cities their villages 8 And all the villages that were round about these cities to Baalath-beer Ramath of the south This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon according to their families 9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah was the inheritance of the children of Simeon for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of them 10 ¶ And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun according to their families and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid 11 And their border went up toward the sea and Maralah and reached to Dabasheth and reached to the river that is before Jokneam 12 And turned from Sarid east-ward toward the sun-rising unto the border of Chisloth-tabor and then goeth out to Daberath and goeth up to Japhia 13 And from thence passeth on along on the east to Gittah-hepher to Ittah-kazin and goeth out to Remmon ‖ Or whicht● drawn methoar to Neah 14 And the border compasseth it on the north-side to Hannathon and the out-goings thereof are in the valley of Jiphthah-el 15 And Kattath and Nahallal and Shimron and Idalah and Bethlehem twelve cities with their villages 16 This is the inheritance of the children of Zebulun according to their families these cities with their villages 17 ¶ And the fourth lot came out to Issachar for the children of Issachar according to their families 18 And their border was toward Jezreel and Chesulloth Shunem 19 And Hapharaim and Shihon and Anaharath 20 And Rabbith and Kishion and Abez 21 And Remeth and Engannim and En-haddah and Beth-pazzer 22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor and Shahazimah and Beth-shemesh and the out-goings of their border were at Jordan sixteen cities with their villages 23 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Issachar according to their families the cities and their villages 24 ¶ And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Asher according to their families 25 And their border was Helkath and Hali and Beten Achshaph 26 And Alammelech and Amad and Misheal and reacheth to Carmel west-ward and to Shihor-libnath 27 And turneth toward the sun-rising to Beth-dagon and reacheth to Zebulun and to the valley of Jiphthah-el toward the north-side of Beth-emek and Neiel and goeth out to Cabul on the left hand 28 And Hebron and Rehob and Hammon and Kanah even unto great Zidon 29 And then the coast turneth to Ramah and to the strong city † Heb. XLV 1 The portion of land for the sanctuary 6 for the city 7 and for the prince 9 Ordinances for the prince MOreover † Heb. when ye cause the land to fall when ye shall divide by lot the land for inheritance ye shall offer an oblation unto the LORD † Heb. holiness an holy portion of the land the length shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds and the breadth shall be ten thousand this shall be holy in all the borders thereof round about 2 Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred in length with five hundred in breadth square round about and fifty cubit round about for the ‖ Or void plates suburbs thereof 3 And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand and the breadth of ten thousand and in it shall be the sanctuary and the most holy place 4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests the ministers of the sanctuary which shall come near to minister unto the LORD and it shall be a place for their houses and an holy place for the sanctuary 5 And the five and twenty thousand of length and the ten thousand of breadth shall also the Levites the ministers of the house have for themselves for a possession for twenty chambers 6 ¶ And ye shall appoint the possession of the city five thousand broad and five and twenty thousand long over against the oblation of the holy portion it shall be for the whole house of Israel 7 ¶ And a portion shall be for the prince on the one side and on the other side of the oblation of the holy portion and of the possession of the city before the oblation of the holy portion and before the possession of the city from the west-side west-ward and from the east-side east-ward and the length shall be over against one of the portions from the west-border unto the east-border 8 In the land shall be his possession in Israel and my princes shall no more oppress my people and the rest of the land shall they give to the house of Israel according to their tribes 9 ¶ Thus saith the Lord GOD Let it suffice you O princes of Israel remove violence and spoil and execute judgement and justice take away your † Heb. expulsions exactions from my people saith the Lord GOD. 10 Ye shall have just * Lev. 19.35 36. balances and a just ephah and a just bath 11 The ephah and the bath shall be of one measure that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer and the ephah the tenth part of an homer the measure thereof shall be after the homer 12 And the * Ex. 30.13 Lev. 27.25 Num. 3.47 shekel shall be twenty gerahs twenty shekels five and twenty shekels fifteen shekels shall be your maneh 13 This is the oblation that ye shall offer the sixth part of an ephah of an
