justice_n and_o then_o it_o be_v well_o with_o he_o he_o judge_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o poor_a and_o needy_a than_o it_o be_v well_o with_o he_o be_v not_o this_o to_o know_v i_o say_v the_o lord_n but_o now_o on_o the_o contrary_a he_o shall_v have_v judment_n without_o mercy_n that_o 13._o show_v no_o mercy_n he_o that_o stop_v his_o ear_n against_o the_o cry_n of_o the_o poor_a he_o shall_v also_o 13._o cry_v himself_o but_o shall_v not_o he_o hear_v etc._n etc._n many_o other_o like_a passage_n there_o be_v in_o the_o scripture_n to_o the_o same_o effect_n 29._o nay_o moreover_o the_o general_a neglect_n of_o this_o duty_n pull_v down_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n not_o only_o upon_o those_o particular_a person_n that_o neglect_v it_o but_o also_o upon_o the_o whole_a nation_n where_o it_o be_v in_o such_o general_a sort_n neglect_v o_o house_n of_o david_n thus_o say_v the_o lord_n execute_v judgement_n in_o the_o morning_n and_o deliver_v he_o that_o be_v 12._o spoil_v out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o oppressor_n lest_o my_o fury_n go_v out_o like_a fire_n and_o burn_v that_o none_o can_v quench_v it_o because_o of_o the_o evil_a of_o your_o do_n jer._n 21._o brethren_n we_o of_o this_o nation_n have_v cause_n to_o look_v to_o it_o in_o time_n against_o who_o the_o lord_n have_v of_o late_o manifest_v his_o just_a wrath_n though_o temper_v as_o we_o must_v all_o confess_v with_o much_o clemency_n yea_o and_o his_o hand_n be_v streched_a out_o against_o we_o still_o in_o the_o heavy_a plague_n both_o of_o dearth_n and_o death_n though_o the_o land_n be_v full_a of_o all_o manner_n of_o sin_n and_o lewdness_n and_o so_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v a_o controversy_n with_o we_o for_o any_o of_o they_o yet_o i_o be_o very_o persuade_v there_o be_v no_o other_o kind_n of_o sin_n that_o have_v overspread_v the_o face_n of_o the_o whole_a land_n with_o such_o a_o universal_a contagion_n as_o it_o be_v of_o a_o leprosy_n as_o the_o sin_n of_o riot_n and_o oppression_n have_v do_v which_o two_o sin_n be_v not_o only_o the_o provoke_a cause_n as_o any_o kind_n of_o sin_n may_v be_v in_o regard_n of_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n but_o also_o the_o sensible_a instrumental_a cause_n in_o the_o eye_n of_o reason_n and_o experience_n of_o much_o penury_n and_o mortality_n among_o we_o 30._o sure_o then_o as_o to_o quench_v the_o fire_n we_o use_v to_o withdraw_v the_o fuel_n so_o to_o turn_v away_o the_o heavy_a wrath_n of_o god_n from_o we_o we_o shall_v all_o put_v to_o our_o helping-hand_n each_o in_o his_o place_n and_o calling_n but_o especial_o the_o minister_n and_o the_o magistrate_n the_o one_o to_o cry_v down_o the_o other_o to_o beat_v down_o as_o all_o sin_n in_o general_a so_o especial_o these_o of_o riot_n and_o oppression_n never_o think_v it_o will_v be_v well_o with_o we_o or_o that_o it_o will_v be_v much_o better_a with_o we_o than_o now_o it_o be_v or_o that_o it_o will_v not_o be_v rather_o every_o day_n much_o worse_o with_o we_o than_o it_o be_v never_o look_v that_o disorder_n in_o the_o church_n distemper_n in_o the_o state_n distraction_n in_o our_o judgement_n disease_n in_o our_o body_n shall_v be_v remedy_v or_o remove_v and_o not_o rather_o more_o and_o more_o increase_v if_o we_o hold_v on_o as_o we_o do_v in_o pamper_v every_o man_n his_o own_o flesh_n and_o despise_v every_o man_n his_o poor_a brother_n so_o long_o as_o we_o think_v no_o pleasure_n too_o much_o for_o ourselves_o no_o pressure_n too_o heavy_a for_o our_o brethren_n stretch_v ourselves_o along_o and_o at_o ease_n upon_o our_o couch_n eat_v of_o the_o fat_a and_o drink_v of_o the_o sweet_a without_o 6._o any_o touch_n of_o compassion_n in_o our_o bowel_n for_o the_o affliction_n of_o other_o we_o can_v expect_v no_o other_o but_o that_o the_o rod_n of_o god_n shall_v abide_v upon_o we_o either_o in_o dearth_n of_o pestilence_n or_o if_o they_o be_v remove_v for_o god_n love_v sometime_o to_o shift_v his_o rod_n in_o great_a and_o heavy_a judgement_n in_o some_o other_o kind_n 31._o but_o as_o to_o the_o particular_a of_o oppression_n for_o that_o of_o riot_n and_o intemperance_n be_v beside_o the_o text_n i_o shall_v no_o far_o press_v my_o humble_a request_n to_o those_o that_o be_v in_o place_n of_o authority_n and_o all_o other_o that_o have_v any_o office_n or_o attendance_n about_o the_o court_n be_v this_o for_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o of_o yourselves_o and_o your_o country_n be_v not_o so_o indulgent_a to_o your_o own_o appetite_n and_o affection_n either_o of_o ease_n as_o to_o reject_v the_o complaint_n or_o of_o partiality_n as_o to_o despise_v the_o person_n or_o of_o filthy_a lucre_n as_o to_o betray_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o fatherless_a and_o friendless_a suffer_v not_o when_o his_o cause_n be_v good_a a_o simple_a man_n to_o be_v circumvent_v by_o the_o wiliness_n or_o a_o mean_a man_n to_o be_v over_o pour_v by_o the_o greatness_n of_o a_o crafty_a or_o mighty_a adversary_n favour_v not_o a_o know_a sycophant_n nor_o open_v your_o lip_n to_o speak_v in_o a_o cause_n to_o pervert_v judgement_n 21._o or_o to_o procure_v favour_n for_o a_o mischievous_a person_n turn_v not_o judgement_n into_o wormwood_n by_o make_v he_o that_o mean_v no_o hurt_n a_o offender_n for_o a_o word_n wrangle_v not_o in_o the_o behalf_n of_o a_o contentious_a person_n to_o the_o prejudice_n
