to_o the_o heart_n of_o any_o man_n that_o have_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o they_o by_o a_o sympathetic_a suffering_n it_o be_v one_o good_a sign_n to_o know_v whether_o a_o man_n be_v of_o the_o mystical_a body_n or_o no_o to_o take_v to_o heart_n the_o grievance_n of_o the_o church_n as_o good_a nehemiah_n do_v he_o will_v not_o take_v comfort_n in_o the_o pleasure_n of_o a_o court_n in_o the_o king_n of_o babylon_n court_n when_o it_o go_v not_o well_o with_o his_o country_n when_o the_o church_n be_v in_o distress_n he_o take_v their_o grievance_n to_o heart_n so_o moses_n the_o very_a joy_n of_o pharaoh_n court_n can_v not_o please_v he_o when_o he_o consider_v the_o abasement_n of_o his_o countryman_n he_o join_v with_o they_o and_o it_o be_v call_v the_o rebuke_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n in_o his_o rule_n of_o the_o church_n there_o be_v this_o divine_a policy_n there_o must_v be_v suffer_v before_o comfort_n god_n will_v soon_o break_v the_o league_n and_o the_o covenant_n between_o day_n and_o night_n than_o this_o league_n of_o suffering_n and_o comfort_n the_o one_o must_v be_v before_o the_o other_o it_o be_v so_o in_o our_o head_n christ_n he_o suffer_v and_o then_o enter_v into_o his_o glory_n so_o all_o his_o member_n must_v be_v comfortable_a to_o he_o in_o suffering_n we_o and_o then_o enter_v into_o their_o glory_n the_o reason_n of_o this_o be_v diverse_a first_o of_o all_o this_o method_n and_o order_n be_v first_o suffering_n and_o then_o comfort_n because_o god_n find_v we_o in_o a_o corrupt_a estate_n and_o something_o must_v be_v wrought_v out_o of_o we_o before_o we_o can_v be_v vessel_n to_o receive_v comfort_n therefore_o there_o must_v be_v a_o purgation_n one_o way_n or_o other_o either_o by_o repentance_n or_o if_o not_o by_o we_o repentance_n by_o affliction_n to_o help_v repentance_n there_o must_v be_v suffer_v before_o comfort_n the_o soul_n be_v unfit_a for_o comfort_n second_o this_o order_n commend_v and_o sweeten_v comfort_n to_o we_o for_o fire_n be_v sweet_a after_o cold_a and_o meat_n be_v sweet_a after_o hunger_n so_o comfort_n be_v sweet_a after_o suffer_v god_n fit_v we_o to_o comfort_v by_o this_o by_o purge_v out_o what_o be_v contrary_a to_o comfort_v and_o he_o indeare_v comfort_n by_o this_o those_o that_o have_v feel_v the_o cross_n comfort_n be_v comfort_n indeed_o we_o for_o happiness_n to_o sharpen_v our_o desire_n to_o happiness_n to_o make_v it_o precious_a to_o we_o certain_o it_o be_v a_o ground_n not_o only_o of_o patience_n and_o meekness_n but_o of_o joy_n and_o comfort_n in_o all_o the_o thing_n we_o suffer_v will_v a_o patient_n be_v angry_a with_o his_o chirurgeon_n for_o search_v of_o his_o wound_n he_o know_v that_o that_o be_v the_o way_n to_o cure_v he_o will_v any_o man_n take_v offence_n at_o the_o goldsmith_n for_o purge_v his_o mass_n they_o know_v that_o be_v the_o way_n to_o purify_v it_o and_o fetch_v out_o the_o dross_n this_o be_v the_o method_n in_o nature_n the_o ground_n muft_v be_v plough_v and_o prepare_v and_o then_o come_v the_o harvest_n let_v we_o be_v content_a with_o this_o method_n and_o rejoice_v in_o any_o suffering_n know_v it_o will_v have_v a_o bless_a issue_n and_o not_o to_o think_v much_o at_o suffer_v any_o thing_n for_o a_o good_a cause_n in_o ourselves_o or_o by_o way_n of_o sympathy_n or_o support_v with_o other_o because_o this_o be_v the_o high_a way_n to_o a_o better_a estate_n if_o we_o suffer_v with_o the_o church_n or_o for_o the_o church_n any_o kind_n of_o way_n we_o shall_v be_v comfort_v with_o the_o church_n it_o be_v that_o which_o sweeten_v the_o cross_n that_o we_o be_v under_o hope_n of_o better_a still_o who_o will_v not_o endure_v a_o little_a grievance_n in_o the_o way_n to_o have_v honour_n in_o the_o end_n to_o have_v ill_a usage_n in_o a_o inn_n and_o to_o go_v to_o a_o kingdom_n all_o our_o discomfort_n and_o affliction_n be_v but_o by_o the_o way_n here_o and_o cross_n be_v necessary_a for_o traveller_n and_o here_o we_o be_v but_o in_o a_o travel_a estate_n it_o shall_v i_o say_v encourage_v we_o not_o to_o take_v offence_n at_o any_o thing_n that_o god_n exercise_v we_o with_o in_o this_o world_n nor_o to_o take_v scandal_n at_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o church_n and_o then_o it_o shall_v strike_v terror_n to_o those_o that_o will_v not_o endure_v so_o much_o as_o a_o scratch_n a_o scoff_n a_o word_n a_o chip_n of_o the_o cross_n that_o will_v endure_v nothing_o suffer_v do_v they_o know_v that_o this_o be_v god_n order_n do_v they_o avoid_v cross_n in_o any_o degree_n and_o do_v they_o think_v to_o have_v comfort_n no_o god_n will_v not_o change_v his_o order_n for_o they_o he_o have_v establish_v this_o order_n and_o people_n in_o suffering_n then_o to_o have_v communion_n with_o the_o wicked_a in_o the_o world_n in_o reign_v and_o triumph_v and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o the_o prophet_n make_v he_o desire_n deal_v with_o i_o lord_n as_o thou_o use_v to_o deal_v with_o those_o that_o fear_v thy_o name_n he_o know_v he_o deal_v well_o enough_o with_o they_o visit_v i_o comfort_n then_o to_o have_v all_o the_o comfort_n that_o the_o wicked_a have_v and_o to_o share_v with_o they_o in_o the_o misery_n afterward_o therefore_o let_v we_o be_v content_a to_o share_v with_o god_n people_n in_o their_o suffering_n when_o we_o hear_v of_o any_o that_o suffer_v for_o a_o just_a cause_n though_o we_o have_v no_o suffering_n of_o our_o own_o let_v we_o bear_v a_o part_n with_o they_o and_o with_o the_o bond_n of_o the_o communion_n of_o saint_n help_v what_o we_o may_v and_o it_o be_v as_o true_a on_o the_o contrary_a if_o we_o partake_v with_o the_o wicked_a in_o respect_n of_o like_v and_o converse_v and_o secret_a intimate_a communion_n lot_n son_n in_o law_n they_o think_v it_o be_v but_o trifle_v they_o gibe_v as_o atheist_n do_v now_o when_o they_o hear_v the_o minister_n encourage_v people_n to_o make_v much_o of_o religion_n and_o to_o set_v against_o those_o that_o be_v opposite_a they_o think_v they_o be_v enforce_v to_o it_o and_o it_o be_v upon_o mistake_n etc._n etc._n though_o it_o be_v as_o palpable_a as_o the_o light_n of_o the_o sun_n they_o deal_v as_o lot_n son_n in_o law_n when_o he_o warn_v they_o to_o come_v out_o of_o sodom_n
