wash_n of_o water_n by_o the_o word_n with_o which_o christ_n do_v sanctify_v and_o cleanse_v his_o church_n ephes_n 5.26_o and_o so_o st._n paul_n tell_v the_o corinthian_n 1_o cor._n 6.11_o such_o be_v some_o of_o you_o soul_n sinner_n but_o you_o be_v wash_v but_o you_o be_v sanctify_v etc._n etc._n in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o our_o god_n but_o the_o manner_n and_o way_n of_o wash_v and_o ablution_n of_o sin_n either_o that_o way_n by_o dip_v and_o immerge_v the_o whole_a body_n into_o and_o under_o the_o water_n or_o by_o aspersion_n or_o perfusion_n or_o rather_o superfusion_n of_o water_n upon_o some_o part_n of_o the_o body_n this_o be_v not_o necessary_a but_o as_o i_o say_v indifferent_a and_o adiaphorous_a and_o arbitrary_a and_o so_o not_o of_o the_o essence_n and_o form_n but_o of_o the_o accidence_n and_o formality_n rather_o or_o solemnity_n of_o baptism_n so_o than_o if_o the_o ablution_n of_o sin_n wash_v off_o the_o guilt_n and_o filth_n thereof_o may_v be_v as_o well_o if_o not_o better_a represent_v by_o aspersion_n and_o sprinkle_n and_o pour_v on_o of_o water_n upon_o some_o part_n of_o the_o body_n and_o gentle_o rub_v on_o the_o same_o by_o the_o move_n of_o the_o hand_n thereupon_o as_o by_o the_o dip_v immerge_v and_o plunge_v of_o the_o whole_a body_n into_z and_o under_o the_o water_n and_o hold_v it_o some_o while_n thereunder_o as_o it_o must_v be_v i_o add_v also_o if_o it_o the_o aforesaid_a aspersion_n or_o perfusion_n be_v as_o effectual_a to_o the_o good_a spiritual_a end_n and_o purpose_n of_o baptism_n as_o the_o aforesaid_a immersion_n i_o see_v no_o reason_n to_o the_o contrary_a but_o that_o both_o the_o ancient_a and_o modern_a or_o present_a aspersion_n and_o perfusion_n or_o superfusion_n of_o water_n be_v as_o warrantable_a and_o allowable_a in_o baptism_n if_o not_o still_o more_o as_o the_o somewhat_o ancient_a immersion_n dip_v and_o dive_v in_o and_o under_o water_n for_o as_o for_o any_o such_o modern_a or_o present_a immersion_n dip_v or_o dive_v under_o water_n as_o you_o be_v i_o acknowledge_v it_o not_o we_o have_v no_o such_o custom_n nor_o the_o church_n of_o god_n as_o i_o say_v but_o now_o it_o be_v true_a the_o body_n must_v be_v wash_v and_o wet_v with_o water_n in_o baptism_n either_o one_o way_n or_o another_o and_o that_o be_v enough_o for_o the_o truth_n and_o nature_n of_o baptism_n now_o this_o may_v be_v and_o be_v do_v when_o we_o baptize_v with_o sprinkle_v and_o pour_v water_n upon_o it_o or_o part_n of_o it_o and_o gentle_o rub_v the_o flesh_n therewith_o as_o well_o as_o by_o dip_v and_o immerge_v and_o therefore_o we_o do_v not_o speak_v false_o when_o but_o sprinkle_v and_o pour_v on_o water_n we_o say_v we_o do_v baptize_v and_o do_v not_o dip_v that_o be_v your_o false_a speech_n for_o though_o we_o dip_v not_o into_o the_o water_n we_o lay_v on_o water_n and_o wash_v and_o therefore_o do_v baptize_v oh_o but_o be_v it_o not_o far_o better_a more_o agreeable_a to_o antiquity_n and_o the_o benefit_n from_o baptism_n more_o ample_a and_o large_a if_o the_o whole_a body_n be_v dip_v and_o immerge_v then_o only_o some_o part_n thereof_o the_o face_n forehead_n or_o head_n asperse_v and_o wash_v this_o be_v answer_v already_o that_o our_o way_n of_o superfusion_n or_o aspersion_n with_o water_n be_v as_o significant_a as_o effectual_a as_o the_o other_o and_z as_o ancient_z within_z a_o sew_z year_n if_o any_o as_o the_o other_o way_n yea_o be_v in_o force_n and_o life_n among_o the_o ancient_n when_o the_o other_o be_v dead_a and_o go_v and_o beside_o we_o be_v free_v from_o it_o where_o we_o will_v plead_v our_o freedom_n because_o we_o live_v out_o of_o the_o hot_a country_n where_o it_o be_v breed_v and_o bear_v and_o be_v to_o be_v
