to_o pray_v or_o desire_v of_o as_o great_a a_o blessing_n of_o god_n as_o can_v befall_v we_o may_v persuade_v we_o to_o pray_v we_o have_v great_a cause_n even_o to_o pour_v out_o our_o soul_n in_o prayer_n and_o supplication_n unto_o our_o god_n for_o the_o bless_a continuance_n of_o that_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n that_o as_o now_o so_o ever_o this_o grace_n may_v be_v continue_v upon_o us._n yea_o belove_a if_o you_o shall_v but_o cast_v your_o eye_n abroad_o into_o the_o land_n you_o shall_v find_v that_o there_o be_v great_a cause_n thus_o to_o pray_v for_o how_o do_v atheism_n and_o abominable_a irreligion_n spread_v itself_o and_o overspread_v the_o whole_a face_n of_o the_o land_n have_v it_o not_o nestle_v itself_o on_o high_a and_o say_v within_o itself_o who_o shall_v bring_v i_o down_o to_o the_o ground_n how_o do_v papisme_n and_o outwear_v pelagianisme_n now_o shoot_v out_o the_o head_n and_o break_v out_o in_o many_o place_n as_o if_o now_o the_o day_n approach_v wherein_o they_o may_v say_v so_o so_o thus_o will_v we_o have_v it_o how_o have_v cunning_a policy_n break_v the_o neck_n of_o christianity_n and_o now_o so_o sway_v that_o it_o carry_v all_o almost_o with_o it_o what_o neglect_n and_o contempt_n of_o the_o word_n be_v there_o in_o all_o place_n and_o what_o else_o be_v these_o but_o forerunner_n of_o a_o fearful_a judgement_n to_o follow_v what_o else_o do_v these_o threaten_v but_o the_o remove_n of_o our_o candlestick_n from_o we_o belove_a shall_v we_o see_v and_o know_v these_o thing_n and_o shall_v we_o not_o pray_v let_v we_o pray_v at_o evening_n and_o at_o morning_n and_o at_o midday_n let_v we_o pray_v and_o that_o instant_o that_o this_o judgement_n may_v never_o fall_v upon_o we_o that_o this_o light_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v never_o be_v put_v out_o but_o that_o it_o may_v shine_v among_o we_o from_o generation_n to_o generation_n until_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n jesus_n the_o more_o that_o the_o danger_n be_v let_v we_o pray_v the_o more_o fervent_o and_o let_v we_o not_o give_v ourselves_o any_o rest_n but_o still_o pray_v unto_o the_o lord_n for_o our_o continuance_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o reform_a church_n in_o the_o gospel_n the_o four_o thing_n which_o here_o i_o note_n be_v that_o the_o apostle_n thus_o pray_v for_o the_o philippian_n always_o in_o all_o his_o prayer_n whence_o i_o observe_v with_o what_o constant_a assiduity_n and_o carefullnesse_n we_o ought_v to_o pray_v for_o our_o church_n and_o for_o ourselves_o that_o we_o may_v continue_v in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n we_o shall_v never_o pray_v but_o always_o in_o our_o prayer_n this_o prayer_n for_o our_o church_n and_o for_o ourselves_o shall_v continual_o be_v remember_v that_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o now_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n may_v for_o ever_o be_v continue_v unto_o us._n to_o pray_v always_o 18.1_o rom._n 12.12_o 1_o thess_n 5.17_o luc._n 18.1_o and_o not_o to_o faint_v or_o give_v over_o be_v a_o thing_n much_o command_v by_o the_o holy_a ghost_n continue_v in_o prayer_n say_v our_o apostle_n and_o again_o in_o another_o place_n pray_v continual_o and_o to_o the_o same_o purpose_n be_v that_o parable_n of_o the_o importunate_a widow_n in_o the_o gospel_n all_o which_o place_n show_v we_o the_o necessity_n of_o prayer_n that_o whensoever_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n we_o have_v recourse_n unto_o god_n by_o prayer_n so_o the_o constant_a perseverance_n that_o be_v to_o be_v use_v in_o prayer_n that_o howsoever_o for_o some_o time_n we_o seem_v to_o pray_v and_o be_v not_o hear_v yet_o we_o faint_v not_o nor_o give_v over_o but_o still_o pray_v and_o that_o instant_o now_o as_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o to_o pray_v always_o so_o always_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n this_o be_v to_o be_v remember_v that_o we_o pray_v that_o the_o lord_n his_o way_n may_v be_v know_v upon_o earth_n and_o his_o save_a health_n among_o all_o nation_n that_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n may_v be_v fruitful_a unto_o we_o and_o unto_o the_o whole_a church_n that_o the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v have_v free_a passage_n and_o be_v glorify_v that_o we_o may_v continue_v ground_v and_o establish_v in_o the_o faith_n as_o we_o have_v be_v teach_v in_o jesus_n christ_n that_o we_o and_o our_o whole_a church_n may_v continue_v in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n this_o the_o example_n of_o our_o apostle_n teach_v we_o to_o do_v who_o in_o that_o he_o do_v for_o other_o leave_v we_o a_o example_n what_o to_o do_v for_o ourselves_o and_o for_o other_o yea_o but_o be_v not_o the_o lord_n always_o more_o ready_a to_o hear_v than_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o have_v he_o not_o say_v that_o whosoever_o ask_v receive_v that_o he_o that_o seek_v find_v and_o that_o to_o he_o that_o knock_v it_o shall_v be_v open_v or_o if_o it_o be_v so_o what_o need_v it_o always_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n thus_o to_o pray_v as_o have_v be_v say_v true_a it_o be_v that_o whosoever_o ask_v receive_v and_o that_o the_o lord_n be_v more_o ready_a to_o hear_v and_o to_o grant_v our_o request_n than_o we_o be_v to_o pray_v and_o call_v upon_o his_o name_n for_o common_o they_o may_v be_v blameless_a in_o the_o day_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n whence_o two_o doubt_n may_v be_v move_v not_o unworthy_a the_o answer_n the_o one_o be_v how_o one_o man_n may_v be_v persuade_v of_o another_o man_n perseverance_n or_o salvation_n what_o a_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n it_o be_v which_o be_v of_o another_o perseverance_n or_o salvation_n the_o other_o be_v whether_o the_o lord_n perform_v this_o work_n of_o the_o philippian_n continuance_n in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n until_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o the_o apostle_n be_v persuade_v he_o will_v to_o speak_v first_o unto_o this_o latter_a most_o lamentable_a it_o be_v but_o most_o true_a it_o be_v that_o in_o those_o place_n where_o sometime_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v call_v upon_o and_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n jesus_n free_o and_o sincere_o preach_v not_o only_o at_o philippi_n but_o in_o many_o other_o church_n which_o the_o apostle_n have_v plant_v in_o macedonia_n and_o else_o where_o there_o now_o through_o the_o secret_a but_o just_a judgement_n of_o god_n barbarous_a turkism_n and_o abominable_a paganism_n have_v take_v possession_n and_o hold_v it_o at_o his_o will_n but_o as_o we_o understand_v this_o place_n of_o the_o apostle_n so_o we_o be_v to_o make_v answer_n to_o the_o doubt_n for_o if_o we_o understand_v the_o apostle_n persuasion_n to_o be_v touch_v the_o church_n that_o then_o present_o be_v at_o philippi_n that_o the_o lord_n will_v continue_v they_o in_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o gospel_n until_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n i_o until_o their_o death_n when_o they_o shall_v be_v translate_v into_o his_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n i_o take_v it_o that_o it_o may_v very_o well_o be_v presume_v and_o safe_o aver_v that_o the_o lord_n perform_v this_o work_n of_o the_o philippian_n continuance_n in_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n until_o the_o day_n of_o christ_n jesus_n as_o the_o apostle_n be_v persuade_v he_o will_v for_o such_o be_v their_o love_n and_o liberality_n towards_o the_o apostle_n and_o such_o their_o constant_a abide_n in_o the_o truth_n from_o the_o first_o day_n until_o then_o that_o as_o the_o apostle_n thereupon_o be_v persuade_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v confirm_v they_o in_o that_o grace_n wherein_o they_o stand_v unto_o their_o end_n so_o we_o thereupon_o may_v persuade_v ourselves_o that_o the_o lord_n do_v confirm_v they_o therein_o unto_o the_o end_n but_o if_o we_o understand_v the_o apostle_n persuasion_n to_o be_v touch_v the_o church_n successive_o at_o philippi_n that_o the_o lord_n will_v continue_v that_o church_n in_o all_o age_n in_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o gospel_n until_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n i_o until_o his_o second_o come_v to_o judgement_n then_o may_v it_o seem_v that_o the_o apostle_n fail_v in_o his_o persuasion_n because_o of_o their_o subjection_n now_o a_o long_a time_n unto_o the_o turk_n but_o even_o here_o also_o it_o may_v be_v say_v that_o as_o when_o the_o apostle_n write_v the_o philippian_n shine_v as_o light_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o a_o naughty_a and_o crooked_a nation_n so_o now_o also_o in_o that_o hellish_a thraldom_n unto_o the_o turk_n the_o lord_n have_v a_o church_n there_o though_o not_o so_o eminent_a as_o sometime_o it_o be_v yet_o a_o church_n for_o as_o at_o the_o first_o the_o apostle_n be_v send_v as_o sheep_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o wolf_n and_o as_o it_o may_v be_v hope_v that_o christ_n have_v his_o church_n even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o romish_n egypt_n so_o may_v it_o also_o be_v hope_v that_o he_o have_v his_o church_n in_o that_o heathenish_a tyranny_n of_o the_o turk_n and_o even_o in_o the_o city_n of_o philippi_n but_o i_o now_o rather_o approve_v the_o former_a answer_n as_o better_o agree_v with_o the_o circumstance_n of_o this_o scripture_n whereby_o it_o seem_v that_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o they_o that_o then_o be_v at_o philippi_n now_o for_o answer_v unto_o the_o second_o doubt_n which_o be_v how_o one_o man_n may_v be_v persuade_v of_o another_o man_n perseverance_n or_o salvation_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v a_o threefold_a persuasion_n one_o ground_v upon_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n unto_o our_o spirit_n whereby_o we_o do_v most_o certain_o persuade_v ourselves_o of_o whatsoever_o grace_n be_v seal_v unto_o we_o by_o the_o earnest_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o this_o persuasion_n be_v most_o certain_a but_o this_o persuasion_n we_o can_v have_v of_o any_o other_o but_o only_o of_o ourselves_o forasmuch_o as_o this_o arise_v of_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n unto_o our_o spirit_n another_o persuasion_n there_o be_v ground_v upon_o the_o constant_a immutabilitie_n of_o god_n in_o his_o do_n whereby_o we_o certain_o persuade_v ourselves_o that_o whatsoever_o good_a work_n god_n have_v begin_v in_o we_o he_o will_v confirm_v it_o unto_o the_o end_n and_o a_o three_o persuasion_n there_o be_v ground_v upon_o charity_n whereby_o we_o persuade_v ourselves_o of_o grace_n where_o we_o see_v obedience_n to_o the_o gospel_n constant_a abide_n in_o the_o truth_n patience_n in_o trouble_n love_v of_o the_o brethren_n and_o the_o like_a now_o one_o man_n can_v be_v persuade_v of_o a_o other_o man_n perseverance_n or_o salvation_n by_o the_o first_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n ground_v upon_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n because_o no_o man_n know_v what_o the_o spirit_n witness_v unto_o another_o spirit_n but_o only_o to_o his_o own_o but_o both_o by_o the_o second_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n ground_v upon_o the_o constancy_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o likewise_o by_o the_o three_o ground_v upon_o charity_n one_o man_n may_v be_v persuade_v of_o another_o man_n perseverance_n or_o salvation_n by_o the_o first_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n the_o apostle_n be_v persuade_v of_o his_o own_o salvation_n when_o he_o say_v i_o be_o persuade_v that_o neither_o death_n 10.38_o rom._n 10.38_o nor_o life_n nor_o angel_n and_o so_o every_o one_o of_o we_o upon_o the_o like_a ground_n may_v persuade_v ourselves_o of_o our_o own_o perseverance_n and_o salvation_n by_o the_o second_o and_o three_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n the_o apostle_n be_v persuade_v of_o the_o philippian_n perseverance_n and_o salvation_n as_o in_o this_o place_n we_o see_v and_o so_o every_o one_o of_o we_o upon_o the_o like_a ground_n may_v be_v persuade_v one_o of_o another_o perseverance_n and_o salvation_n the_o first_o never_n fail_v because_o the_o testimony_n of_o god_n spirit_n whereon_o it_o be_v ground_v be_v ever_o true_a the_o second_o likewise_o never_o fail_v because_o god_n purpose_n be_v ever_o unchangeable_a and_o with_o he_o be_v no_o variableness_n neither_o shadow_v by_o turn_v the_o three_o have_v a_o wonderful_a great_a probability_n but_o may_v fail_v because_o it_o lean_v on_o the_o outward_a fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o man_n who_o heart_n none_o know_v but_o he_o that_o search_v it_o the_o first_o be_v not_o here_o mention_v the_o second_o be_v mention_v vers_fw-la 6_o and_o the_o three_o have_v his_o ground_n vers_fw-la 7._o for_o a_o full_a answer_n then_o unto_o the_o second_o doubt_n we_o say_v that_o one_o man_n may_v be_v persuade_v of_o another_o man_n perseverance_n and_o salvation_n both_o by_o the_o second_o and_o three_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n and_o far_o that_o of_o who_o perseverance_n and_o salvation_n we_o be_v persuade_v by_o the_o three_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n of_o his_o perseverance_n and_o salvation_n also_o we_o be_v to_o be_v persuade_v by_o the_o second_o kind_n of_o persuasion_n i_o of_o who_o perseverance_n and_o salvation_n we_o may_v conceive_v a_o good_a persuasion_n by_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o they_o of_o they_o we_o be_v certain_o to_o be_v persuade_v that_o god_n will_v never_o leave_v they_o or_o forsake_v they_o but_o confirm_v they_o unto_o the_o end_n and_o thus_o i_o resolve_v upon_o the_o reason_n which_o the_o apostle_n set_v down_o of_o his_o persuasion_n ground_v on_o the_o constant_a immutabilitie_n of_o god_n in_o his_o do_n for_o what_o say_v the_o apostle_n as_o it_o be_v come_v i_o say_v he_o etc._n etc._n it_o become_v i_o say_v the_o apostle_n so_o to_o judge_v of_o you_o even_o to_o be_v persuade_v that_o he_o that_o have_v begin_v this_o work_n in_o you_o etc._n etc._n and_o why_o do_v it_o become_v he_o so_o to_o judge_v so_o to_o be_v persuade_v because_o say_v he_o i_o have_v you_o in_o remembrance_n because_o i_o glad_o remember_v this_o of_o you_o that_o both_o in_o my_o band_n etc._n etc._n i_o that_o whether_o i_o be_v bind_v for_o the_o gospel_n or_o defend_v the_o gospel_n at_o nero_n his_o bar_n or_o confirm_v the_o gospel_n by_o my_o suffering_n you_o all_o be_v partaker_n of_o my_o grace_n
our_o estate_n whatsoever_o it_o be_v the_o apostle_n have_v learn_v this_o lesson_n by_o his_o own_o long_a experience_n we_o have_v precept_n and_o example_n and_o experience_n to_o teach_v we_o then_o such_o principal_a cause_n of_o thanksgiving_n unto_o our_o god_n for_o the_o fellowship_n which_o we_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n and_o for_o the_o continuance_n of_o this_o fellowship_n from_o the_o first_o day_n unto_o now_o even_o these_o forty_o year_n this_o then_o 1._o shall_v teach_v we_o willing_o and_o glad_o to_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n when_o it_o be_v bring_v unto_o us._n for_o if_o there_o be_v such_o cause_n of_o thanksgiving_n unto_o god_n for_o it_o be_v have_v then_o sure_o be_v there_o great_a cause_n of_o glad_o embrace_v it_o when_o it_o may_v be_v have_v and_o yet_o what_o dullness_n and_o slackness_n and_o coldness_n herein_o in_o this_o congregation_n how_o be_v it_o embrace_v i_o bear_v you_o record_v some_o of_o you_o that_o you_o do_v embrace_v it_o willing_o and_o glad_o and_o i_o assure_v myself_o that_o from_o your_o heart_n you_o thank_v your_o god_n for_o it_o but_o other_o there_o be_v that_o seldom_o or_o never_o come_v unto_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o other_o that_z when_o they_o shall_v hear_v it_o turn_v their_o back_n and_o depart_v away_o from_o the_o hear_n of_o it_o other_o that_o hear_v it_o sleep_o or_o cold_o so_o that_o either_o it_o enter_v not_o in_o or_o quick_o after_o be_v choke_v by_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n do_v these_o thank_n god_n for_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v with_o other_o in_o the_o gospel_n nay_o they_o have_v none_o and_o some_o of_o they_o will_v have_v no_o fellowship_n with_o other_o therein_o and_o therefore_o unless_o at_o length_n they_o take_v hold_v of_o the_o grace_n that_o be_v offer_v they_o they_o shall_v have_v no_o fellowship_n with_o the_o father_n or_o with_o jesus_n christ_n his_o son_n as_o for_o you_o belove_a that_o glad_o embrace_v the_o gospel_n of_o your_o salvation_n hold_v on_o your_o good_a course_n thirst_n after_o it_o as_o the_o hart_n do_v after_o the_o water_n brook_v frequent_a the_o place_n where_o you_o may_v hear_v it_o lay_v it_o up_o in_o your_o heart_n that_o you_o may_v not_o sin_n against_o the_o lord_n and_o let_v your_o mouth_n be_v ever_o fill_v with_o praise_n &_o thanksgiving_n to_o god_n for_o it_o second_o this_o shall_v teach_v we_o to_o labour_v by_o all_o holy_a mean_n to_o continue_v in_o the_o grace_n and_o in_o the_o truth_n wherein_o we_o stand_v unto_o the_o end_n for_o if_o it_o shall_v so_o principal_o cause_v in_o we_o
mention_n of_o they_o always_o in_o his_o prayer_n but_o here_o he_o tell_v the_o philippian_n that_o always_o in_o his_o prayer_n he_o have_v they_o all_o in_o memory_n that_o always_o in_o his_o prayer_n he_o have_v they_o all_o in_o perfect_a memory_n that_o always_o he_o have_v they_o all_o in_o perfect_a memory_n in_o all_o his_o prayer_n that_o in_o all_o his_o prayer_n he_o remember_v they_o with_o gladness_n each_o circumstance_n more_o than_o other_o import_v his_o most_o careful_a remembrance_n of_o they_o in_o his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n that_o they_o may_v continue_v in_o that_o grace_n wherein_o they_o stand_v in_o that_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n for_o therefore_o thank_v he_o god_n and_o be_v glad_a on_o the_o philippian_n behalf_n because_o of_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n from_o the_o first_o day_n until_o then_o and_o therefore_o he_o pray_v for_o they_o that_o they_o may_v continue_v in_o that_o grace_n and_o in_o that_o fellowship_n with_o other_o church_n in_o the_o gospel_n the_o first_o thing_n then_o which_o here_o i_o note_n be_v that_o on_o who_o behalf_n the_o apostle_n give_v such_o thanks_o unto_o god_n and_o be_v so_o glad_a for_o they_o also_o he_o pray_v whence_o i_o observe_v that_o whatsoever_o grace_n be_v bestow_v on_o we_o still_o prayer_n be_v needful_a for_o we_o both_o that_o we_o pray_v for_o ourselves_o and_o that_o other_o pray_v for_o us._n for_o neither_o be_v any_o grace_n so_o perfect_a in_o any_o neither_o be_v all_o grace_n so_o complete_a and_o full_a in_o any_o but_o that_o both_o he_o have_v need_n of_o perseverance_n and_o increase_n in_o that_o grace_n wherein_o he_o stand_v and_o to_o have_v other_o grace_n supply_v which_o he_o want_v abraham_n full_a of_o blessing_n yet_o want_v a_o child_n and_o he_o must_v pray_v that_o he_o may_v not_o go_v childless_a isaac_n full_a of_o blessing_n 15.2_o gen._n be_v in_o danger_n of_o esau_n his_o brother_n and_o he_o must_v pray_v unto_o the_o lord_n 32.11_o 32.11_o i_o pray_v thou_o deliver_v i_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o my_o brother_n from_o the_o grace_n he_o think_v the_o prayer_n of_o the_o faithful_a needful_a for_o he_o &_o therefore_o crave_v they_o not_o only_o of_o the_o ephesian_n but_o likewise_o of_o the_o colossian_n in_o his_o epistle_n to_o they_o 4.3_o colos_n 4.3_o far_o therefore_o be_v it_o from_o we_o belove_a to_o say_v as_o the_o manner_n of_o some_o be_v unto_o any_o of_o god_n child_n bestow_v your_o prayer_n where_o you_o listen_v i_o need_v not_o your_o prayer_n i_o care_v not_o for_o your_o prayer_n pray_v for_o yourself_o all_o your_o prayer_n will_v be_v little_a enough_o for_o yourself_o i_o will_v pray_v for_o myself_o these_o be_v the_o word_n not_o of_o they_o that_o abound_v with_o grace_n but_o of_o they_o that_o be_v not_o teach_v in_o the_o word_n nor_o know_v how_o much_o the_o prayer_n of_o a_o righteous_a man_n avail_v if_o it_o be_v fervent_a far_o likewise_o be_v it_o from_o we_o once_o to_o dream_v of_o any_o such_o perfection_n in_o ourselves_o but_o that_o we_o have_v still_o need_n to_o pray_v to_o abound_v more_o and_o more_o in_o all_o grace_n and_o in_o all_o thing_n daily_o more_o and_o more_o to_o grow_v up_o into_o he_o which_o be_v the_o head_n that_o be_v christ_n for_o be_v it_o our_o predestination_n our_o election_n our_o adoption_n our_o reconciliation_n our_o justification_n which_o be_v as_o sure_a unto_o all_o the_o son_n of_o god_n as_o that_o god_n be_v true_a yet_o even_o in_o respect_n of_o these_o have_v we_o need_v always_o to_o pray_v that_o the_o assurance_n of_o they_o may_v be_v daily_o more_o and_o more_o seal_v unto_o our_o spirit_n by_o the_o pledge_n of_o god_n spirit_n again_o be_v it_o our_o faith_n our_o hope_n our_o love_n our_o knowledge_n our_o judgement_n or_o the_o like_a which_o be_v the_o work_n of_o god_n own_o finger_n in_o all_o his_o child_n yet_o in_o respect_n of_o these_o have_v we_o need_v always_o to_o pray_v for_o continual_a increase_n and_o all_o godly_a growth_n in_o they_o yea_o be_v it_o whatsoever_o grace_n wherein_o we_o be_v so_o establish_v that_o we_o be_v sure_o we_o can_v final_o fall_v from_o it_o yet_o be_v we_o still_o to_o
pray_v for_o perseverance_n therein_o because_o he_o will_v have_v all_o they_o so_o exercise_v who_o he_o will_v confirm_v unto_o the_o end_n whatsoever_o grace_n therefore_o the_o lord_n have_v bestow_v upon_o we_o yet_o still_o let_v we_o pray_v unto_o he_o either_o for_o our_o far_a assurance_n and_o confirmation_n or_o for_o perseverance_n and_o increase_n in_o they_o let_v we_o pray_v for_o ourselves_o unto_o the_o lord_n for_o every_o grace_n needful_a for_o we_o and_o let_v we_o request_n to_o be_v commend_v by_o the_o faithful_a in_o their_o prayer_n unto_o god_n this_o be_v our_o wrestle_n with_o the_o god_n of_o jacob_n and_o thus_o wrestle_v we_o shall_v sure_o prevail_v 7.7_o matth._n 7.7_o for_o so_o he_o have_v promise_v and_o faithful_a be_v he_o thâ—â—_n have_v in_o perfect_a memory_n always_o in_o all_o his_o prayer_n etc._n etc._n whence_o i_o observe_v how_o in_o our_o prayer_n for_o the_o church_n we_o ought_v to_o be_v affect_v towards_o it_o namely_o that_o so_o in_o our_o prayer_n we_o commend_v the_o whole_a church_n unto_o god_n for_o what_o though_o in_o the_o church_n all_o be_v not_o knit_v together_o in_o one_o mind_n and_o in_o one_o judgement_n what_o though_o all_o be_v not_o alike_o forward_o in_o acknowledge_v and_o embrace_v the_o truth_n what_o though_o many_o thing_n be_v do_v in_o the_o church_n through_o contention_n or_o vain_a glory_n the_o apostle_n know_v well_o that_o it_o be_v thus_o in_o the_o church_n at_o philippi_n as_o many_o evident_o appear_v by_o sundry_a place_n in_o this_o his_o epistle_n yet_o in_o his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n for_o they_o he_o take_v no_o such_o notice_n of_o these_o thing_n as_o that_o he_o do_v seclude_v any_o of_o they_o out_o of_o his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n but_o joint_o he_o commend_v they_o all_o in_o his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n right_o so_o we_o in_o our_o prayer_n for_o the_o church_n we_o shall_v not_o easy_o take_v notice_n of_o every_o contention_n of_o every_o defect_n of_o every_o thing_n that_o may_v offend_v in_o the_o church_n so_o to_o seclude_v any_o out_o of_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n but_o in_o a_o christian_a affection_n towards_o all_o and_o in_o a_o holy_a desire_n for_o all_o we_o shall_v commend_v the_o whole_a church_n in_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n it_o be_v such_o a_o ordinary_a practice_n with_o our_o apostle_n both_o to_o give_v thanks_o unto_o god_n for_o all_o they_o to_o who_o he_o write_v and_o likewise_o to_o pray_v for_o they_o all_o notwithstanding_o that_o many_o thing_n be_v amiss_o among_o they_o that_o we_o be_v not_o to_o doubt_v but_o that_o we_o be_v so_o to_o do_v as_o we_o have_v the_o apostle_n for_o a_o ensample_n look_v into_o his_o epistle_n and_o by_o the_o beginning_n almost_o of_o all_o of_o they_o you_o shall_v see_v that_o this_o be_v his_o ordinary_a practice_n leave_v we_o therein_o a_o ensample_n that_o as_o he_o do_v so_o we_o shall_v do_v and_o the_o reason_n be_v plain_a for_o do_v not_o the_o apostle_n in_o write_v his_o epistle_n unto_o the_o church_n still_o write_v as_o unto_o the_o belove_a of_o god_n and_o unto_o saint_n in_o christ_n jesus_n still_o entitul_a the_o whole_a church_n unto_o which_o he_o write_v unto_o these_o title_n without_o exception_n of_o any_o or_o do_v the_o apostle_n so_o and_o be_v not_o we_o to_o do_v so_o or_o be_v we_o to_o do_v so_o and_o not_o to_o commend_v the_o whole_a church_n in_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n the_o reason_n i_o take_v it_o infer_v the_o point_n and_o commend_v unto_o we_o that_o general_a care_n of_o commend_v the_o whole_a church_n in_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n a_o good_a lesson_n and_o well_o worthy_a the_o learning_n of_o many_o in_o these_o our_o day_n for_o as_o it_o fare_v more_o private_o and_o particular_o among_o man_n so_o do_v it_o fare_v more_o public_o and_o general_o in_o the_o church_n among_o man_n ordinary_o every_o trifle_a matter_n be_v enough_o to_o cut_v off_o all_o love_n and_o friendship_n among_o we_o nay_o to_o breed_v great_a hatred_n and_o enmity_n among_o we_o nay_o to_o set_v we_o at_o such_o odds_o that_o rather_o we_o will_v ban_v and_o curse_v one_o another_o then_o pray_v one_o for_o another_o and_o if_o we_o differ_v in_o judgement_n one_o from_o another_o about_o some_o matter_n of_o the_o church_n than_o nothing_o on_o one_o part_n but_o carnal_a gospeller_n and_o timeservers_a nothing_o on_o another_o part_n but_o sacrilegious_a person_n schismatical_a person_n troubler_n of_o the_o state_n and_o hypocritical_a dissembler_n nothing_o but_o slander_v and_o forge_v thing_n never_o write_v or_o speak_v nothing_o but_o such_o uncharitableness_n as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v fear_v that_o on_o some_o part_n there_o be_v little_o pray_v for_o the_o other_o unless_o it_o be_v to_o confound_v they_o neither_o be_v it_o otherwise_o more_o public_o and_o generalâ—y_o in_o the_o church_n if_o we_o may_v judge_v by_o outward_a appearance_n some_o part_n of_o the_o church_n unto_o some_o seem_v to_o have_v so_o many_o defect_n and_o blemish_n so_o many_o superstitious_a rite_n and_o ceremony_n that_o they_o can_v brook_v they_o they_o can_v abide_v in_o they_o they_o can_v pray_v with_o they_o i_o know_v not_o whether_o they_o do_v pray_v for_o they_o and_o of_o other_o other_o part_n of_o the_o church_n because_o of_o their_o form_n of_o government_n be_v so_o mislike_v that_o they_o can_v with_o patience_n hear_v of_o they_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v like_a do_v not_o in_o all_o their_o prayer_n remember_v they_o but_o these_o and_o all_o such_o may_v hence_o be_v better_o lesson_v and_o such_o uncharitableness_n if_o any_o such_o be_v in_o they_o reform_v let_v we_o belove_a be_v otherwise_o mind_v howsoever_o there_o be_v thing_n amiss_o in_o the_o church_n let_v we_o not_o seclude_v any_o out_o of_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n but_o let_v we_o commend_v in_o our_o prayer_n the_o whole_a church_n unto_o god_n in_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n let_v we_o abandon_v all_o cogitation_n either_o of_o private_a quarrel_n one_o with_o another_o or_o of_o public_a contention_n in_o the_o church_n and_o let_v we_o pray_v each_o for_o other_o and_o all_o of_o we_o for_o the_o whole_a church_n unto_o the_o lord_n fervent_o let_v the_o same_o mind_n be_v in_o we_o that_o be_v in_o our_o apostle_n and_o let_v we_o always_o in_o all_o our_o prayer_n have_v all_o the_o saint_n in_o christ_n jesus_n in_o perfect_a memory_n the_o three_o thing_n which_o here_o i_o note_n be_v the_o thing_n for_o which_o the_o apostle_n pray_v in_o all_o his_o prayer_n for_o they_o and_o that_o be_v the_o same_o in_o substance_n with_o that_o wherefore_o he_o give_v thanks_o unto_o god_n for_o as_o his_o thanksgiving_n unto_o god_n on_o their_o behalf_n be_v because_o of_o the_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n from_o the_o first_o day_n until_o then_o so_o his_o prayer_n unto_o god_n for_o they_o be_v that_o they_o may_v continue_v in_o that_o fellowship_n which_o they_o have_v in_o the_o gospel_n unto_o the_o end_n whence_o i_o observe_v a_o very_a material_a point_n to_o be_v remember_v in_o our_o prayer_n unto_o god_n both_o for_o the_o whole_a church_n and_o for_o ourselves_o which_o be_v continuance_n in_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o gospel_n that_o our_o church_n may_v continue_v in_o that_o fellowship_n which_o it_o have_v with_o other_o reform_a church_n in_o the_o gospel_n and_o that_o we_o may_v continue_v ground_v and_o establish_v in_o the_o truth_n wherein_o we_o stand_v here_o be_v indeed_o principal_a cause_n of_o prostrate_v ourselves_o before_o the_o throne_n of_o grace_n and_o pour_v out_o our_o soul_n in_o prayer_n unto_o our_o god_n whether_o we_o look_v unto_o the_o curse_n in_o the_o want_v or_o unto_o the_o blessing_n in_o the_o enjoy_n of_o the_o glorious_a gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n for_o what_o great_a curse_n or_o plague_n of_o god_n can_v fall_v upon_o we_o then_o that_o our_o candlestick_n shall_v be_v remove_v from_o we_o that_o a_o famine_n of_o the_o word_n shall_v be_v send_v among_o we_o that_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o salvation_n shall_v be_v translate_v from_o we_o to_o another_o people_n the_o lord_n threaten_v to_o bring_v a_o fearful_a judgement_n on_o the_o fellowship_n in_o the_o gospel_n with_o other_o church_n which_o be_v indeed_o a_o special_a good_a work_n and_o such_o as_o they_o that_o persecute_v they_o in_o who_o god_n have_v begin_v this_o observe_v a_o further_a continual_a care_n necessary_a for_o all_o christian_n and_o that_o be_v that_o they_o may_v abound_v daily_o more_o and_o more_o not_o in_o knowledge_n only_o of_o god_n will_v out_o of_o his_o word_n but_o in_o sound_a judgement_n also_o through_o a_o feel_a experience_n in_o themselves_o of_o such_o spiritual_a thing_n as_o they_o know_v out_o of_o the_o word_n behooveful_a for_o the_o church_n ever_o snarl_v and_o catch_v at_o every_o advantage_n they_o caâ—_n take_v ever_o cast_v firebrand_n of_o schism_n and_o contention_n iâ—_n the_o church_n be_v there_o not_o that_o preach_v christ_n upon_o enuâ—â—_n and_o strife_n and_o not_o pure_o but_o of_o purpose_n to_o grieve_v as_o i_o wish_v there_o be_v no_o such_o diversity_n among_o they_o that_o their_o place_n whatsoever_o or_o which_o for_o christ_n his_o sake_n they_o be_v to_o perform_v unto_o any_o servant_n of_o christ_n what_o thing_n more_o commendable_a or_o memorable_a in_o esther_n as_o may_v be_v needful_a for_o they_o if_o any_o brother_n be_v sick_a though_o it_o be_v with_o some_o danger_n let_v we_o visit_v he_o and_o comfort_v he_o if_o for_o the_o work_n of_o our_o of_o the_o doubt_n only_o i_o show_v my_o opinion_n and_o willing_o submit_v it_o to_o the_o judgement_n of_o other_o touch_v private_a man_n therefore_o i_o mean_v such_o as_o who_o place_n and_o themselves_o under_o that_o gay_a title_n of_o holy_a catholic_n who_o be_v they_o now_o that_o have_v still_o in_o their_o mouth_n the_o church_n the_o church_n as_o if_o they_o and_o none_o but_o they_o be_v the_o church_n of_o christ_n do_v not_o these_o whosoever_o they_o be_v brag_v of_o great_a title_n which_o nothing_o belong_v unto_o they_o whosoever_o they_o be_v that_o do_v so_o they_o have_v a_o mark_n of_o false_a teacher_n mark_v they_o therefore_o and_o take_v heed_n of_o they_o beware_v of_o they_o they_o resemble_v these_o of_o the_o concision_n many_o other_o note_n there_o
