church_n such_o a_o particular_a head_n how_o unreasonable_a will_v it_o be_v to_o suppose_v our_o saviour_n shall_v be_v ignorant_a of_o it_o and_o if_o the_o contrary_a to_o conceal_v it_o from_o his_o disciple_n especial_o at_o this_o time_n when_o they_o be_v contend_v as_o it_o be_v about_o the_o same_o thing_n who_o among_o they_o shall_v be_v the_o great_a and_o without_o all_o doubt_n have_v our_o saviour_n design_v to_o have_v invest_v st._n peter_n with_o such_o a_o power_n he_o will_v have_v acquaint_v they_o with_o it_o and_o will_v as_o this_o have_v be_v a_o very_a fit_a time_n have_v tell_v they_o they_o need_v not_o trouble_v themselves_o about_o those_o unnecessary_a dispute_n for_o there_o be_v one_o among_o they_o that_o be_v already_o design_v and_o intend_v to_o be_v the_o rock_n and_o only_a foundation_n on_o which_o he_o will_v build_v his_o church_n and_o so_o consequent_o their_o principal_a head_n and_o governor_n and_o they_o ought_v to_o respect_v he_o and_o his_o successor_n according_o but_o as_o there_o be_v no_o footstep_n or_o place_n of_o scripture_n to_o warrant_v our_o belief_n of_o any_o thing_n of_o this_o kind_n let_v we_o inquire_v but_o we_o do_v not_o find_v only_o the_o apostle_n but_o the_o new_a convert_v contend_v and_o chide_v as_o it_o be_v st._n peter_n so_o that_o he_o be_v force_v to_o tell_v a_o long_a story_n for_o his_o justification_n as_o you_o may_v read_v act_n the_o 11._o from_o the_o begin_n to_o the_o 18._o verse_n from_o which_o it_o be_v evident_a they_o have_v the_o same_o opinion_n of_o his_o be_v antioch_n i_o withstand_v he_o to_o the_o face_n because_o he_o be_v to_o be_v blame_v now_o this_o sound_n very_o strange_a what!_o the_o infallible_a head_n of_o the_o church_n and_o prince_n of_o the_o apostle_n in_o a_o fault_n that_o deserve_v such_o a_o sharp_a reproof_n sure_a st._n paul_n be_v in_o a_o error_n and_o mistake_v or_o else_o the_o pretend_a infallible_a successor_n of_o st._n be_v evident_a he_o know_v nothing_o of_o the_o matter_n for_o if_o he_o have_v it_o be_v but_o reason_n to_o suppose_v he_o will_v have_v give_v a_o account_n of_o those_o order_n thus_o viz._n god_n have_v set_v some_o in_o the_o church_n first_o st._n peter_n the_o head_n second_o apostle_n three_o prophet_n etc._n etc._n and_o in_o the_o four_o of_o the_o ephesian_n ver_fw-la the_o 11._o much_o to_o the_o same_o purpose_n and_o he_o give_v some_o apostle_n and_o some_o prophet_n and_o some_o evangelist_n and_o some_o pastor_n and_o teacher_n but_o not_o one_o word_n of_o this_o infallible_a guide_n which_o to_o i_o and_o i_o hope_v all_o unprejudiced_a person_n be_v a_o sufficient_a proof_n that_o no_o such_o power_n be_v ever_o intend_v by_o our_o saviour_n to_o st._n peter_n nor_o that_o st._n peter_n do_v ever_o own_o that_o he_o have_v any_o such_o authority_n nor_o the_o apostle_n believe_v any_o such_o matter_n which_o be_v i_o think_v sufficient_a for_o the_o second_o inquiry_n whether_o the_o apostle_n do_v give_v place_n or_o pre-eminence_n to_o st._n peter_n as_o believe_v he_o to_o be_v the_o head_n of_o the_o church_n etc._n etc._n and_o now_o to_o conclude_v all_o they_o ground_n their_o argument_n upon_o be_v general_a consideration_n that_o there_o ought_v to_o be_v a_o infallible_a judge_n and_o from_o thence_o they_o will_v infer_v our_o saviour_n do_v possible_o institute_n such_o a_o one_o and_o the_o most_o likely_a person_n be_v st._n peter_n from_o those_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n thou_o be_v peter_n and_o upon_o this_o rock_n i_o will_v build_v my_o church_n etc._n etc._n but_o the_o most_o that_o this_o can_v amount_v to_o be_v but_o a_o favourable_a construction_n of_o the_o matter_n now_o by_o the_o same_o rule_n it_o be_v i_o hope_v as_o rational_a to_o presume_v the_o contrary_a especial_o from_o the_o consideration_n of_o so_o many_o place_n of_o scripture_n as_o i_o have_v here_o set_v down_o which_o do_v not_o favour_v this_o infallible_a doctrine_n all_o which_o i_o will_v draw_v up_o to_o this_o one_o single_a point_n
