cast_v out_o but_o if_o the_o guide_n of_o the_o church_n be_v faulty_a and_o will_v not_o cast_v he_o out_o then_o must_v the_o people_n distinguish_v between_o communion_n with_o he_o as_o a_o christian_a in_o general_a and_o as_o a_o member_n of_o that_o particular_a church_n as_o also_o between_o communion_n moral_a and_o mere_o natural_a and_o

three_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v but_o a_o physical_a and_o not_o a_o moral_a communion_n that_o they_o have_v with_o he_o four_o because_o they_o be_v bind_v to_o hold_v communion_n with_o the_o church_n in_o the_o use_n of_o ordinance_n and_o as_o for_o the_o infant_n on_o that_o account_n baptize_v iâ—_n be_v so_o few_o act_n of_o communion_n that_o a_o infant_n be_v capable_a of_o that_o that_o be_v baptise_a into_o the_o name_n of_o the_o father_n son_n and_o holy_a ghost_n do_v thereby_o renounce_v heathenism_n so_o far_o though_o whether_o his_o profession_n shall_v be_v credit_v depend_v on_o the_o probability_n of_o its_o verity_n or_o falsity_n but_o on_o the_o first_o mention_v definition_n of_o baptism_n it_o will_v be_v grant_v you_o that_o baptise_v a_o heathen_a be_v not_o a_o nullity_n as_o to_o the_o outward_a baptism_n though_o it_o be_v unprofitable_a and_o sinful_a but_o to_o go_v on_o former_a ground_n i_o further_a answer_n 2._o it_o be_v one_o thing_n for_o a_o judge_n to_o mis-judge_n a_o cause_n that_o belong_v to_o his_o judgement_n and_o another_o to_o mis-judge_n a_o cause_n that_o be_v whole_o exempt_v from_o his_o judgement_n and_o belong_v not_o to_o he_o in_o the_o former_a his_o judgement_n may_v stand_v in_o divers_a case_n because_o he_o be_v make_v judge_n in_o the_o late_a it_o be_v whole_o null_a for_o he_o be_v but_o a_o private_a man_n and_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v in_o the_o business_n and_o therefore_o whether_o he_o judge_v right_a or_o wrong_n it_o be_v null_a as_o if_o a_o judge_n go_v to_o another_o bench_n or_o into_o another_o circuit_n which_o be_v out_o of_o his_o commission_n so_o here_o where_o a_o man_n lay_v claim_v to_o baptism_n and_o profess_v himself_o a_o christian_n the_o minister_n be_v to_o judge_v whether_o he_o do_v it_o true_o or_o false_o and_o therefore_o though_o he_o mistake_v the_o baptism_n be_v not_o null_a for_o though_o the_o man_n be_v notorious_o ungodly_a yet_o it_o be_v suppose_v that_o the_o notoriousness_n be_v not_o absolute_o unquestionable_a and_o that_o the_o person_n do_v not_o profess_v it_o when_o he_o come_v to_o baptism_n but_o deny_v it_o by_o profess_v faith_n and_o repentance_n and_o so_o though_o the_o church_n have_v sufficient_a ground_n to_o discredit_v that_o profession_n by_o reason_n of_o hâ—s_n contradict_v life_n yet_o a_o controversy_n it_o be_v while_o the_o person_n claim_v a_o right_a in_o baptism_n for_o his_o child_n and_o be_v a_o controversy_n the_o pastor_n be_v judge_v but_o if_o he_o baptize_v a_o heathen_a that_o make_v no_o profession_n of_o christianity_n true_a or_o false_a than_o he_o meddle_v in_o a_o matter_n exempt_v from_o his_o power_n and_o out_o of_o his_o commission_n and_o contrary_a to_o it_o and_o that_o which_o can_v be_v no_o controversy_n fit_a for_o his_o determination_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v null_a and_o indeed_o no_o baptism_n object_n if_o the_o pastor_n be_v thus_o judge_n how_o can_v you_o say_v as_o before_o that_o the_o notorious_o ungodly_a be_v ipso_fw-la jure_fw-la excommunicate_v answ._n 1._o minister_n be_v limit_v in_o their_o judgement_n by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n which_o tell_v how_o far_o they_o may_v or_o may_v not_o judge_n and_o how_o far_o it_o shall_v or_o shall_v not_o be_v effectual_a the_o people_n be_v not_o absolute_o tie_v to_o the_o number_n of_o christian_n but_o not_o into_o any_o one_o particular_a church_n and_o therefore_o i_o will_v not_o forbid_v or_o dissuade_v the_o baptise_v of_o such_o prâ—position_n 2._o yet_o communion_n so_o be_v we_o to_o refuse_v the_o baptise_v of_o their_o child_n that_o be_v to_o suspend_v both_o till_o such_o a_o title_n be_v show_v or_o till_o the_o ground_n of_o that_o strong_a presumption_n be_v remove_v although_o we_o may_v not_o declare_v such_o person_n to_o be_v no_o member_n of_o the_o universal_a church_n nor_o absolute_o deny_v their_o child_n to_o have_v any_o right_n in_o the_o covenant_n or_o fundamental_o and_o remote_o to_o baptism_n as_o not_o be_v certain_a that_o their_o parent_n be_v in_o a_o graceless_a ungodly_a state_n this_o last_o proposition_n be_v it_o that_o i_o be_o now_o to_o give_v my_o reason_n of_o for_o indeed_o it_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o such_o exceed_a difficulty_n to_o conclude_v another_o man_n to_o be_v certain_o graceless_a that_o it_o be_v not_o one_o of_o multitude_n nay_o it_o be_v but_o few_o of_o the_o common_o scandalous_a gross_a sinner_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o prove_v it_o by_o which_o i_o desire_v
