the_o church_n even_o though_o they_o agree_v in_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v material_a and_o upon_o the_o matter_n such_o determination_n be_v but_o indeed_o as_o if_o they_o be_v doctrinal_a to_o such_o as_o acknowledge_v they_o not_o and_o man_n be_v according_o to_o walk_n in_o they_o assert_v 3._o in_o such_o practice_n as_o be_v daily_o practicable_a practicable_a in_o respect_n of_o the_o occasion_n thereof_o union_n be_v more_o difficult_a though_o not_o impossible_a than_o in_o such_o case_n where_o the_o occasion_n of_o practice_n be_v not_o probable_a because_o there_o be_v no_o present_a occasion_n to_o practice_v the_o same_o it_o look_v most_o unwise_a like_a to_o bring_v in_o or_o keep_v in_o a_o more_o certain_a and_o great_a evil_n in_o the_o church_n for_o eschew_v of_o what_o folk_n may_v never_o be_v put_v to_o and_o suppose_v the_o case_n to_o be_v past_a that_o may_v probable_o never_o recurre_v it_o be_v more_o for_o the_o church_n good_a by_o abstain_v present_a and_o follow_a division_n as_o be_v former_o say_v if_o it_o be_v say_v how_o can_v there_o be_v union_n in_o such_o a_o case_n upon_o the_o principle_n suppose_v till_o as_o may_v be_v say_v by_o one_o side_n those_o who_o have_v decide_v and_o act_v corrupt_o shall_v repent_v and_o as_o may_v be_v say_v by_o the_o other_o till_o those_o who_o have_v divide_v unjust_o from_o the_o former_a instance_n of_o man_n most_o tender_a of_o union_n and_o yet_o most_o zealous_a in_o this_o yea_o these_o two_o go_v together_o because_o zeal_n for_o the_o church_n edification_n constrain_v to_o union_n and_o do_v also_o press_v the_o remove_n of_o corrupt_a unfaithful_a minister_n which_o next_o to_o division_n in_o a_o church_n be_v the_o great_a plague_n of_o a_o church_n therefore_o these_o thing_n will_v be_v advert_v 1._o that_o the_o purge_n of_o the_o church_n of_o such_o and_o the_o work_n of_o union_n will_v be_v joint_o respect_v otherways_o if_o union_n be_v slight_v it_o will_v hazard_v the_o fall_n in_o too_o near_o with_o the_o schism_n of_o the_o novatian_o and_o donatist_n which_o have_v be_v so_o hurtful_a to_o the_o church_n 2._o union_n when_o it_o be_v man_n in_o competition_n with_o the_o depose_n of_o some_o unfaithful_a man_n and_o both_o can_v be_v obtain_v together_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v prefer_v as_o we_o see_v the_o apostle_n do_v 2_o cor._n 10._o 6._o who_o will_v not_o censure_v in_o such_o a_o case_n lest_o he_o state_n a_o schism_n for_o the_o continue_v of_o such_o in_o a_o church_n be_v indeed_o a_o hurt_n see_v they_o be_v only_o a_o duty_n as_o at_o other_o time_n but_o a_o special_a mean_a have_v influence_n on_o the_o procure_n of_o union_n because_o so_o one_o of_o the_o great_a stumbling_n that_o have_v be_v in_o the_o church_n to_o make_v the_o ministry_n contemptible_a be_v remove_v and_o a_o practical_a evidence_n of_o man_n zeal_n be_v give_v which_o tend_v to_o lay_v a_o ground_n of_o confidence_n of_o they_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o other_o so_o also_o man_n be_v keep_v from_o fall_v under_o the_o tentation_n of_o luke-warmnesse_n and_o forget_v of_o every_o duty_n but_o the_o support_v of_o the_o side_n at_o least_o that_o which_o usual_o be_v impute_v in_o such_o a_o case_n be_v remove_v and_o also_o by_o this_o man_n will_v find_v the_o necessity_n of_o bear_v with_o many_o thing_n in_o other_o who_o may_v in_o the_o main_n be_v suppose_v to_o be_v honest_a and_o however_o it_o be_v the_o way_n to_o be_v approven_v before_o god_n and_o to_o have_v a_o testimony_n in_o the_o conscience_n of_o other_o all_o which_o conduce_v exceed_o to_o union_n whereas_o universal_a cessation_n from_o this_o as_o if_o there_o be_v no_o such_o matter_n to_o work_v upon_o and_o obstruct_v formal_o yea_o or_o material_o or_o virtual_o any_o thing_n thereof_o do_v exceed_o tend_v to_o the_o fix_v of_o division_n and_o cool_v of_o the_o affection_n of_o many_o that_o look_v on_o without_o which_o that_o be_v warm_v affection_n there_o be_v little_a access_n to_o hearty_a union_n 6._o we_o say_v that_o this_o duty_n of_o purge_v will_v not_o be_v fix_v so_o in_o its_o vehemency_n press_v either_o under_o a_o division_n or_o while_o union_n be_v not_o confirm_v as_o when_o a_o church_n be_v in_o a_o good_a condition_n because_o that_o be_v to_o give_v strong_a physic_n to_o a_o unsettled_a weak_a body_n that_o may_v rather_o stir_v the_o humour_n to_o the_o prejudice_n of_o the_o whole_a than_o remove_v they_o therefore_o we_o conceive_v that_o sobriety_n and_o prudence_n will_v be_v use_v here_o in_o moderate_v of_o the_o exercise_n of_o this_o duty_n till_o the_o union_n be_v confirm_v and_o as_o it_o be_v by_o preparation_n the_o body_n be_v dispose_v for_o the_o same_o therefore_o if_o fault_n be_v not_o gross_a evidence_n clear_a and_o a_o person_n unfruitfulnesse_n or_o hurtfulness_n demonstrable_a in_o which_o case_n no_o difference_n among_o such_o party_n as_o be_v to_o be_v unite_v be_v to_o be_v fear_v it_o be_v safe_a for_o the_o church_n to_o abstain_v the_o same_o than_o to_o hazard_v the_o open_n or_o ruffle_v of_o a_o wound_n scarce_o cure_v by_o the_o unseasonable_a press_v of_o such_o a_o duty_n the_o apostle_n do_v in_o several_a case_n spare_v consure_n of_o unfaithful_a man_n out_o of_o respect_n to_o the_o church_n good_a as_o have_v be_v former_o hint_v and_o as_o the_o judicious_a divine_a mr._n gillespy_n who_o yet_o can_v be_v brand_v with_o luke-warmnesse_n in_o this_o duty_n in_o his_o aaron_n rod_n make_v out_o and_o do_v give_v instance_n of_o several_a case_n wherein_o this_o forbearance_n be_v called-for_a in_o sum_n we_o suppose_v that_o have_v to_o do_v in_o such_o a_o case_n with_o such_o person_n it_o be_v more_o safe_a for_o man_n to_o do_v their_o own_o duty_n keep_v the_o peace_n of_o the_o church_n and_o to_o leave_v other_o to_o do_v according_a to_o the_o manifestnesse_n of_o thing_n as_o they_o shall_v answer_v before_o god_n as_o to_o their_o seek_v the_o good_a of_o his_o church_n and_o if_o this_o prevail_v not_o with_o such_o man_n for_o order_v they_o in_o their_o duty_n will_v any_o think_v that_o the_o keep_n up_o or_o threaten_v of_o division_n will_v prevail_v last_o it_o will_v be_v consider_v if_o such_o end_n as_o any_o side_n will_v propose_v either_o in_o keep_v in_o or_o purge_v out_o of_o man_n who_o be_v think_v fit_a or_o unfit_a respective_o can_v be_v attain_v without_o union_n so_o as_o with_o it_o therefore_o see_v that_o be_v a_o thing_n which_o belong_v to_o government_n and_o man_n be_v to_o be_v sway_v in_o such_o act_n by_o what_o conduce_v most_o to_o edification_n when_o they_o can_v attain_v the_o length_n they_o will_v as_o we_o suppose_v man_n shall_v never_o do_v in_o this_o matter_n of_o purge_v they_o then_o be_v to_o walk_v by_o this_o rule_n of_o choose_v what_o comparative_o be_v most_o edify_a as_o be_v former_o say_v sometime_o also_o difference_n have_v be_v about_o the_o excommunicate_v of_o person_n or_o readmit_v again_o to_o communion_n but_o what_o concern_v this_o may_v be_v somewhat_o understand_v from_o the_o former_a ground_n wherein_o extremity_n will_v be_v shun_v and_o the_o church_n peace_n and_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o ordinance_n study_v also_o we_o have_v otherways_o beyond_o our_o
