corruption_n and_o so_o much_o more_o like_o the_o church_n which_o be_v at_o rome_n and_o in_o england_n in_o the_o first_o and_o pure_a age_n we_o say_v therefore_o we_o be_v the_o same_o christian_a church_n have_v lose_v nothing_o that_o make_v we_o so_o but_o only_o cast_v off_o many_o thing_n that_o endanger_v our_o be_v so_o viz_o those_o many_o error_n &_o superstition_n that_o tend_v to_o the_o destruction_n of_o that_o christian_a faith_n which_o make_v we_o a_o church_n as_o a_o man_n recover_v from_o some_o pestilential_a or_o dangerous_a disease_n be_v the_o same_o but_o that_o little_a be_v come_v down_o to_o we_o of_o those_o poor_a christian_n beside_o what_o have_v come_v from_o or_o through_o the_o hand_n of_o their_o profess_a enemy_n now_o in_o those_o pure_a in_o some_o part_n and_o that_o general_o the_o great_a more_o unsound_a first_o it_o be_v not_o necessary_a there_o shall_v be_v such_o so_o profess_v in_o all_o point_n as_o we_o do_v for_o person_n against_o who_o it_o be_v speak_v viz_o the_o donatist_n they_o have_v no_o necessity_n or_o just_a cause_n of_o leave_v the_o church_n 3._o in_o regard_n of_o the_o catholic_n church_n there_o be_v no_o necessity_n of_o divide_v from_o that_o for_o they_o that_o divide_v from_o the_o catholic_n church_n do_v break_v with_o it_o either_o upon_o the_o point_n of_o faith_n or_o charity_n i._n e._n they_o either_o depart_v from_o that_o one_o faith_n hold_v in_o the_o catholic_n church_n or_o hold_v that_o faith_n do_v break_v with_o it_o for_o some_o cause_n or_o matter_n of_o that_o division_n which_o follow_v upon_o our_o endeavour_v to_o preserve_v that_o faith_n entire_a but_o they_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o it_o that_o will_v not_o and_o yet_o will_v condemn_v we_o our_o defence_n then_o in_o general_n stand_v thus_o we_o have_v just_a cause_n to_o reform_v and_o so_o have_v they_o we_o in_o reform_v do_v what_o we_o ought_v if_o they_o have_v do_v what_o they_o ought_v and_o have_v cause_n to_o do_v no_o breach_n or_o division_n have_v follow_v and_o further_o we_o in_o do_v what_o we_o ought_v preserve_v the_o faith_n entire_a together_o with_o charity_n they_o will_v neither_o cast_v off_o their_o error_n which_o clog_v and_o corrupt_v the_o faith_n nor_o retain_v charity_n but_o cut_v we_o off_o as_o much_o as_o in_o they_o from_o the_o catholic_n church_n it_o be_v clear_a then_o to_o who_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o division_n must_v be_v impute_v chap._n vi_o how_o necessity_n of_o divide_v communion_n arise_v but_o that_o it_o may_v more_o particular_o be_v understand_v what_o we_o do_v and_o what_o cause_n or_o necessity_n we_o have_v of_o so_o do_v we_o must_v consider_v that_o the_o necessity_n of_o abstain_v from_o the_o communion_n of_o this_o or_o that_o church_n do_v not_o present_o arise_v upon_o error_n or_o superstition_n suffer_v or_o teach_v in_o that_o church_n and_o hold_v or_o practise_v by_o many_o in_o it_o no_o though_o they_o be_v gross_a error_n and_o may_v be_v damnable_a to_o they_o that_o careless_o suffer_v themselves_o to_o be_v seduce_v into_o they_o such_o be_v the_o seduce_a doctrine_n suffer_v and_o teach_v in_o the_o church_n of_o galatia_n pergamus_n and_o thyatira_n chap._n 3._o as_o abovesaid_a yet_o be_v not_o any_o therefore_o necessitate_v to_o divide_v from_o their_o communion_n but_o then_o the_o necessity_n arise_v 1._o when_o the_o error_n be_v direct_o fundamental_a as_o in_o the_o arian_n heresy_n for_o which_o all_o true_a catholic_n hold_v themselves_o oblige_v to_o abstain_v from_o their_o communion_n we_o do_v not_o charge_v the_o roman_a church_n upon_o that_o score_n in_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o division_n 2._o when_o the_o error_n and_o superstition_n be_v in_o the_o practice_n that_o concern_v the_o administration_n of_o the_o sacrament_n the_o public_a service_n the_o form_n and_o worship_n in_o all_o which_o stand_v the_o exercise_n of_o the_o external_a communion_n so_o that_o man_n true_o inform_v and_o convince_v of_o those_o error_n and_o superstition_n can_v communicate_v with_o good_a conscience_n there_o arise_v a_o necessity_n of_o abstain_v from_o such_o practice_n and_o consequent_o from_o communion_n with_o that_o church_n so_o far_o as_o to_o such_o practice_n yet_o so_o as_o hold_v it_o a_o part_n of_o the_o catholic_a church_n this_o i_o say_v be_v a_o divide_v from_o such_o a_o church_n in_o the_o external_a communion_n by_o cease_v to_o practice_v and_o hold_v some_o thing_n which_o it_o do_v but_o a_o join_n with_o it_o in_o the_o catholic_a of_o which_o we_o hold_v it_o still_o a_o part_n as_o we_o also_o be_v and_o this_o may_v give_v sense_n to_o that_o distinction_n of_o forsake_v the_o error_n but_o not_o the_o church_n i.e._n not_o forsake_v or_o cast_v off_o that_o which_o make_v a_o true_a member_n of_o the_o church_n or_o not_o break_v with_o the_o church_n upon_o the_o point_n of_o true_a faith_n or_o charity_n 3._o when_o such_o superstitious_a practice_n together_o with_o error_n in_o belief_n in_o themselves_o gross_a and_o palpable_a and_o to_o the_o careless_a or_o wilful_a damnable_a be_v not_o only_o teach_v and_o permit_v in_o a_o church_n but_o impose_v also_o and_o require_v as_o a_o condition_n of_o communion_n so_o that_o they_o which_o shall_v not_o so_o profess_v or_o practice_v be_v sentence_v as_o heretic_n and_o excommunicate_v there_o be_v just_a cause_n and_o necessity_n of_o divide_v from_o the_o communion_n of_o such_o a_o church_n now_o in_o both_o these_o respect_n we_o charge_v the_o church_n of_o rome_n with_o the_o cause_n of_o our_o division_n and_o that_o we_o be_v thereupon_o necessitate_v to_o abstain_v from_o her_o communion_n yet_o so_o as_o hold_v she_o then_o and_o still_o a_o church_n and_o be_v then_o and_o still_o ready_a to_o hold_v communion_n with_o she_o save_v the_o duty_n of_o true_a member_n of_o the_o catholic_a church_n in_o case_n she_o will_v provide_v for_o the_o security_n thereof_o by_o a_o tolerable_a reformation_n so_o our_o defence_n stand_v upon_o these_o two_o assertion_n that_o such_o a_o cause_n be_v just_a and_o necessary_a and_o that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n give_v it_o and_o we_o have_v it_o which_o two_o make_v up_o the_o two_o proposition_n of_o this_o argument_n it_o be_v lawful_a to_o abstain_v from_o the_o communion_n of_o that_o church_n which_o require_v unlawful_a and_o sinful_a condition_n of_o her_o communion_n but_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n require_v such_o or_o thus_o all_o man_n ought_v upon_o true_a conviction_n to_o forsake_v their_o know_a error_n and_o sin_n but_o we_o know_v they_o and_o be_v true_o convince_v of_o they_o therefore_o in_o forsake_v they_o we_o do_v what_o we_o ought_v the_o first_o proposition_n in_o both_o these_o form_n stand_v as_o undeniable_a or_o else_o it_o must_v be_v grant_v that_o we_o may_v be_v bind_v to_o the_o protestant_n church_n for_o they_o also_o say_v and_o be_v many_o time_n persuade_v and_o convince_v that_o that_o church_n impose_v on_o they_o such_o error_n answer_n set_a the_o term_n aright_o and_o the_o fallacy_n or_o ambiguity_n of_o this_o captious_a reason_n will_v appear_v if_o by_o our_o apprehension_n or_o conviction_n of_o error_n in_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n they_o
