and_o be_v a_o terror_n to_o the_o wicked_a parcere_fw-la subjectis_fw-la &_o debellare_fw-la superbos_fw-la now_o in_o these_o thing_n consist_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n our_o mediator_n 12._o though_o the_o church_n on_o earth_n can_v subsist_v without_o a_o christian_a magistracy_n as_o it_o have_v do_v many_o a_o time_n yet_o it_o can_v in_o a_o ordinary_a way_n subsist_v without_o a_o magistracy_n for_o without_o magistracy_n humane_a society_n can_v subsist_v there_o will_v be_v no_o order_n no_o government_n no_o restraint_n of_o sin_n mankind_n will_v not_o be_v a_o society_n but_o a_o rout_n of_o lawless_a belluine_a and_o ungoverned_a men._n no_o society_n no_o ecclesiastical_a society_n and_o consequent_o no_o church_n therefore_o jesus_n christ_n our_o mediator_n and_o god_n in_o and_o by_o he_o be_v the_o author_n of_o magistracy_n as_o a_o thing_n very_o useful_a for_o the_o good_a of_o mankind_n in_o general_n and_o of_o the_o church_n militant_a in_o special_a and_o therefore_o those_o do_v great_o mistake_v who_o hold_v that_o magistracy_n be_v but_o a_o accident_n to_o the_o church_n quod_fw-la potest_fw-la adesse_fw-la vel_fw-la abesse_fw-la absque_fw-la subjectinteritu_fw-la 13._o the_o gospel_n may_v be_v take_v two_o way_n strict_o and_o large_o take_a strict_o so_o it_o mean_v god_n gift_n of_o christ_n and_o life_n eternal_a in_o he_o to_o all_o the_o elect_a through_o faith_n and_o thus_o prince_n and_o magistrate_n have_v not_o their_o authority_n by_o the_o gospel_n consider_v large_o so_o it_o comprise_v the_o principle_n rule_n and_o maxim_n of_o natural_a religion_n common_a to_o we_o and_o heathen_n and_o whatsoever_o be_v useful_a to_o humane_a society_n and_o to_o the_o uphold_a of_o order_n godliness_n and_o true_a religion_n among_o man_n and_o thus_o prince_n and_o magistrate_n have_v their_o whole_a office_n and_o authority_n by_o the_o gospel_n 14._o though_o under_o christ_n our_o mediator_n the_o prince_n have_v imperial_a independent_a and_o supreme_a power_n over_o all_o in_o his_o dominion_n as_o to_o coercive_a rule_n by_o the_o sword_n yet_o still_o he_o be_v under_o christ_n the_o mediator_n and_o accountable_a to_o he_o who_o be_v king_n of_o king_n and_o lord_n of_o lord_n and_o at_o the_o great_a day_n will_v sit_v in_o judgement_n
