well-pleasing_a to_o he_o prayer_n praise_n break_a and_o contrite_a heart_n and_o our_o soul_n and_o body_n but_o reject_v all_o charm_n and_o enchantment_n from_o our_o worship_n as_o contrary_a to_o the_o reasonable_a service_n which_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n and_o do_v retain_v the_o genuine_a simplicity_n of_o the_o gospel-worship_n in_o a_o plain_a and_o intelligible_a stile_n and_o form_n without_o any_o mixture_n draw_v from_o judaisme_n or_o gentilism_n and_o thus_o there_o be_v nothing_o among_o we_o contrary_a to_o the_o first_o design_n of_o religion_n and_o as_o little_o will_v be_v find_v against_o the_o second_o which_o be_v the_o honour_n due_a to_o christ_n in_o all_o his_o office_n we_o teach_v our_o people_n to_o study_v the_o scripture_n and_o to_o examine_v all_o we_o say_v by_o they_o and_o exhort_v they_o to_o depend_v on_o god_n who_o by_o his_o spirit_n will_v teach_v they_o as_o well_o as_o we_o neither_o do_v we_o pretend_v to_o a_o authority_n over_o their_o conscience_n but_o acknowledge_v ourselves_o man_n of_o like_a infirmity_n with_o the_o people_n who_o be_v all_o call_v to_o be_v a_o royal_a priesthood_n and_o thus_o we_o honour_v christ_n prophetical_a office_n by_o sound_v our_o faith_n only_o on_o the_o divine_a authority_n of_o the_o scripture_n we_o also_o believe_v there_o be_v no_o name_n give_v under_o heaven_n by_o which_o we_o can_v be_v save_v but_o the_o name_n of_o christ_n who_o lay_v down_o his_o life_n a_o ransom_n for_o our_o soul_n that_o by_o his_o cross_n we_o may_v be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n and_o it_o be_v to_o that_o one_o sacrifice_n that_o we_o teach_v all_o to_o fly_v for_o obtain_v remission_n of_o sin_n and_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n trust_v only_o to_o it_o and_o to_o nothing_o we_o have_v do_v or_o can_v do_v know_v that_o when_o we_o have_v do_v all_o we_o can_v do_v we_o be_v but_o unprofitable_a servant_n much_o less_o do_v we_o hope_v for_o any_o thing_n from_o any_o of_o our_o fellow-creature_n we_o apply_v our_o soul_n to_o no_o intercessor_n but_o christ_n and_o trust_v to_o no_o satisfaction_n but_o he_o and_o we_o acknowledge_v he_o the_o only_a king_n of_o his_o church_n who_o law_n must_v bind_v it_o to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o world_n neither_o do_v we_o acknowledge_v any_o other_o authority_n but_o he_o over_o our_o conscience_n it_o be_v true_a in_o thing_n indifferent_a he_o have_v leave_v a_o power_n with_o his_o church_n to_o determine_v in_o those_o matter_n which_o may_v tend_v to_o advance_v order_n edification_n peace_n and_o decency_n but_o as_o the_o church_n can_v add_v to_o our_o faith_n so_o neither_o can_v it_o institute_v new_a piece_n of_o worship_n which_o shall_v commend_v we_o to_o god_n or_o bind_v any_o load_n upon_o our_o soul_n we_o own_o a_o ministerial_a authority_n in_o all_o the_o pastor_n of_o the_o church_n which_o they_o derive_v from_o jesus_n christ_n and_o not_o from_o any_o visible_a head_n on_o earth_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v only_o subject_a to_o christ._n we_o also_o hold_v that_o the_o civil_a power_n be_v of_o christ_n who_o gospel_n bind_v the_o duty_n of_o obedience_n to_o they_o more_o close_o on_o we_o and_o therefore_o if_o they_o do_v wrong_v we_o leave_v they_o to_o christ_n tribunal_n who_o set_v they_o up_o but_o pretend_v to_o no_o power_n from_o his_o gospel_n to_o coerce_v or_o resist_v they_o and_o thus_o we_o honour_v christ_n in_o all_o his_o office_n and_o so_o be_v conform_v to_o the_o second_o branch_n of_o the_o design_n of_o our_o faith_n we_o also_o receive_v the_o three_o with_o the_o same_o fidelity_n and_o whatever_o the_o practice_n of_o too_o too_o many_o among_o we_o be_v yet_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n to_o quarrel_v our_o doctrine_n we_o preach_v repentance_n to_o all_o and_o study_v to_o convince_v they_o of_o their_o misery_n and_o lose_v estate_n that_o they_o may_v mourn_v for_o their_o sin_n and_o turn_v to_o god_n by_o a_o new_a course_n of_o life_n we_o preach_v faith_n through_o christ_n in_o god_n as_o that_o which_o unite_v our_o soul_n to_o he_o by_o which_o we_o be_v in_o christ_n and_o christ_n be_v in_o we_o we_o stir_v up_o our_o people_n to_o love_v the_o lord_n their_o god_n with_o all_o their_o heart_n strength_n soul_n and_o mind_n and_o to_o wait_v for_o his_o son_n christ_n jesus_n who_o be_v the_o hope_n of_o glory_n and_o shall_v change_v our_o vile_a body_n into_o the_o likeness_n of_o his_o glorious_a body_n and_o from_o this_o great_a motive_n do_v we_o press_v our_o people_n to_o the_o study_n of_o holiness_n without_o which_o they_o shall_v never_o see_v god_n we_o send_v they_o to_o the_o ten_o commandment_n for_o the_o rule_n of_o their_o life_n who_o exposition_n we_o chief_o take_v from_o christ_n sermon_n on_o the_o mount_n neither_o can_v we_o be_v charge_v for_o have_v teach_v the_o people_n to_o break_v one_o of_o the_o least_o of_o these_o commandment_n we_o exhort_v
