it_o be_v much_o easy_a to_o love_v holiness_n in_o the_o saint_n then_o in_o god_n himself_o because_o he_o be_v far_o remote_a from_o we_o and_o they_o among_o we_o be_v visible_o see_v therefore_o unless_o we_o find_v our_o heart_n inward_o move_v to_o love_v they_o yea_o with_o a_o natural_a affection_n as_o it_o be_v we_o but_o pretend_v to_o love_v god_n love_n be_v a_o command_a affection_n yea_o love_n and_o hatred_n be_v as_o it_o be_v the_o great_a lord_n and_o master_n that_o divide_v the_o affection_n between_o they_o now_o the_o reason_n why_o we_o hate_v god_n natural_o be_v by_o reason_n of_o that_o opposition_n and_o contrariety_n which_o be_v between_o god_n and_o every_o man_n by_o nature_n for_o all_o love_n come_v from_o similitude_n and_o agreeableness_n therefore_o this_o sinful_a nature_n of_o we_o must_v be_v break_v in_o piece_n and_o subdue_v again_o new-molded_n and_o frame_v before_o it_o can_v ever_o be_v fit_a to_o love_v god_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o any_o natural_a man_n that_o have_v the_o most_o impure_a heart_n may_v to_o escape_v hell_n and_o get_v heaven_n do_v all_o the_o work_v the_o papist_n require_v and_o for_o the_o same_o end_n that_o they_o require_v they_o but_o to_o do_v it_o out_o of_o love_n to_o god_n that_o be_v a_o thing_n no_o hypocrite_n can_v reach_v to_o and_o therefore_o the_o give_v a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n proceed_v from_o love_n be_v a_o better_a work_n than_o a_o martyrdom_n the_o give_v one_o body_n to_o be_v burn_v and_o all_o that_o he_o have_v to_o feed_v the_o poor_a if_o it_o come_v not_o from_o love_n yea_o than_o all_o this_o come_n not_o from_o love_n be_v to_o god_n more_o acceptable_a the_o very_a will_n of_o do_v the_o least_o good_a though_o the_o deed_n be_v never_o do_v so_o the_o of_o love_n be_v the_o breach_n of_o the_o whole_a law_n now_o true_a love_n look_v first_o to_o christ_n person_n next_o to_o the_o promise_n and_o benefit_n we_o have_v by_o he_o and_o this_o love_n to_o god_n do_v not_o so_o restrain_v we_o but_o we_o may_v love_v the_o creature_n also_o yet_o so_o that_o if_o this_o love_n to_o the_o creature_n do_v overbalance_n or_o any_o away_o lessen_v love_n of_o dependence_n that_o be_v to_o love_v one_o on_o who_o all_o good_a depend_v so_o we_o be_v say_v to_o love_n god_n yea_o with_o the_o three_o last_o kind_n of_o love_n love_n be_v offence_n give_v in_o manner_n when_o as_o they_o which_o profess_v true_a religion_n lead_v lewd_a and_o wicked_a life_n and_o thereby_o deny_v what_o they_o profess_v rom._n 2.24_o 5._o unlawful_a christian_a slight_n in_o time_n of_o persecution_n for_o though_o in_o some_o case_n it_o may_v be_v lawful_a yet_o be_v subjection_n simple_o to_o be_v yield_v to_o the_o punishment_n of_o magistrate_n for_o the_o better_a witness_v of_o the_o truth_n though_o we_o do_v not_o always_o tender_a obedience_n to_o their_o command_n now_o to_o a_o lawful_a christian_a flight_n in_o time_n church_n 3._o if_o there_o be_v in_o the_o pastor_n a_o moderation_n of_o mind_n for_o he_o must_v neither_o be_v overcome_v with_o excessive_a fear_n nor_o through_o overmuch_o confidence_n 4._o that_o the_o pastor_n withdraw_v himself_o only_o for_o a_o time_n not_o utter_o forsake_v his_o charge_n unless_o his_o person_n be_v chief_o aim_v at_o in_o the_o persecution_n 5._o if_o after_o power_n else_o we_o swear_v mad_o or_o hypocritical_o 4._o that_o it_o be_v of_o thing_n certain_a lest_o we_o swear_v with_o a_o evil_a conscience_n 5._o that_o in_o time_n we_o perform_v it_o indeed_o though_o it_o shall_v be_v never_o so_o much_o to_o our_o loss_n and_o hindrance_n there_o be_v four_o distinct_a thing_n in_o every_o oath_n 1._o a_o asseveration_n of_o the_o truth_n 2._o a_o confession_n of_o the_o omnipotent_a presence_n wisdom_n justice_n and_o truth_n of_o god_n 3._o invocation_n on_o god_n to_o give_v testimony_n to_o the_o conscience_n of_o the_o swearer_n that_o of_o we_o if_o we_o lie_v 3._o confession_n that_o god_n punish_v perjury_n either_o express_v or_o imply_v open_o or_o secret_o which_o confession_n be_v threefold_a 1._o a_o man_n confess_v that_o which_o he_o swear_v be_v true_a in_o his_o conscience_n 2._o that_o god_n be_v a_o witness_n not_o only_o of_o his_o outward_a action_n and_o speech_n but_o also_o of_o his_o particular_a
