that_o he_o be_v by_o birth_n a_o stranger_n to_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n with_o who_o the_o covenant_n be_v make_v and_o with_o who_o circumcision_n be_v establish_v the_o lord_n when_o he_o adopt_v abraham_n to_o himself_o do_v not_o begin_v at_o circumcision_n and_o hide_v from_o he_o what_o he_o mean_v by_o that_o sign_n but_o first_o he_o declare_v what_o covenant_n he_o intend_v to_o make_v with_o he_o &_o then_o after_o faith_n be_v give_v to_o apply_v the_o promise_n than_o he_o make_v he_o partaker_n of_o the_o sacrament_n of_o circumcision_n but_o why_o must_v abraham_n first_o have_v faith_n and_o then_o receive_v this_o sacrament_n and_o yet_o his_o son_n isaac_n shall_v be_v partaker_n of_o it_o at_o eight_o day_n old_a i_o answer_v because_o that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n grow_v in_o year_n and_o before_o a_o stranger_n therefore_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o he_o shall_v first_o learn_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n our_o isaac_n a_o infant_n beget_v of_o he_o be_v in_o covenant_n by_o right_a of_o inheritance_n according_a to_o the_o form_n of_o the_o promise_n which_o be_v not_o only_o to_o be_v â—is_n god_n but_o the_o god_n of_o his_o seed_n after_o he_o gen._n 17.19_o so_o that_o his_o son_n have_v right_a to_o it_o from_o the_o womb_n although_o he_o understand_v not_o the_o condition_n thereof_o be_v a_o infant_n neither_o aught_o such_o infant_n to_o be_v debar_v from_o the_o sign_n for_o this_o that_o they_o can_v swear_v to_o the_o form_n of_o the_o covenant_n so_o than_o if_o heathen_n which_o be_v grow_v in_o age_n shall_v embrace_v the_o faith_n of_o christ_n they_o must_v not_o be_v mark_v with_o baptism_n till_o they_o do_v evident_o declare_v their_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o repentance_n for_o their_o sin_n which_o only_o can_v open_v to_o they_o a_o entrance_n into_o fellowship_n of_o the_o covenant_n but_o infant_n of_o christian_n as_o they_o be_v receive_v of_o god_n into_o the_o inheritance_n of_o the_o covenant_n as_o soon_o as_o they_o be_v bear_v aught_o to_o be_v receive_v to_o baptism_n but_o if_o a_o turk_n or_o a_o heathen_a shall_v offer_v himself_o to_o baptism_n he_o must_v not_o be_v rash_o
