so_o shall_v this_o be_v a_o occasion_n to_o discredit_v all_o the_o particular_a doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o hitherto_o as_o well_o this_o church_n of_o england_n as_o other_o church_n reform_v have_v teach_v but_o to_o understande_v the_o weight_n of_o this_o reason_n before_o use_v against_o the_o wealthy_a live_n of_o our_o clergy_n we_o must_v try_v it_o by_o a_o right_n and_o just_a balance_n that_o be_v by_o the_o true_a meaning_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n first_o therefore_o let_v we_o consider_v the_o cause_n of_o christ_n poverty_n and_o of_o the_o choice_n of_o such_o apostle_n which_o in_o my_o opinion_n be_v two_o the_o one_o be_v apostle_n the_o necessity_n of_o our_o redemption_n the_o other_o be_v a_o example_n and_o just_a instruction_n set_v forth_o unto_o christian_n as_o touch_v the_o first_o when_o the_o certain_a purpose_n of_o god_n have_v determine_v that_o his_o son_n shall_v come_v into_o the_o world_n to_o work_v the_o redemption_n of_o we_o reckon_v he_o so_o vile_a that_o we_o hide_v our_o face_n from_o he_o howbeit_o he_o only_o have_v take_v our_o infirmity_n on_o he_o and_o bear_v our_o pain_n yet_o we_o do_v judge_v he_o as_o reform_a church_n beyond_o the_o sea_n upon_o the_o same_o example_n of_o the_o apostle_n have_v gather_v that_o learning_n and_o knowledge_n be_v not_o to_o be_v respect_v in_o the_o choice_n of_o minister_n because_o god_n need_v no_o such_o help_n to_o set_v forth_o his_o gospel_n yea_o they_o say_v that_o learning_n and_o eloquence_n be_v perilous_a instrument_n to_o corrupt_v the_o simplicity_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o to_o give_v countenance_n to_o error_n wherefore_o such_o person_n do_v usual_o admit_v among_o they_o to_o the_o ministry_n handicraft_n man_n and_o such_o as_o challenge_v to_o themselves_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n only_o without_o further_a knowledge_n but_o the_o godly_a i_o doubt_v not_o understand_v that_o all_o thing_n neither_o can_v nor_o aught_o to_o be_v like_a in_o the_o state_n of_o the_o church_n beginning_n and_o under_o persecution_n and_o in_o the_o church_n settle_v and_o live_v in_o peace_n and_o quietness_n the_o minister_n and_o preacher_n of_o our_o church_n beside_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n live_v in_o poverty_n be_v will_v diligent_o to_o look_v into_o the_o perpetual_a doctrine_n which_o christ_n in_o all_o the_o evangelist_n do_v teach_v they_o touch_v the_o state_n of_o their_o live_n namely_o against_o riches_n covetousness_n the_o glory_n of_o the_o world_n &_o care_n of_o this_o instruct_v his_o disciple_n &_o follower_n utter_o will_v they_o to_o renounce_v this_o world_n and_o the_o treasure_n thereof_o whereupon_o it_o be_v think_v it_o may_v be_v very_o well_o conclude_v that_o the_o minister_n of_o the_o church_n may_v not_o have_v any_o wealthy_a live_n and_o especial_o by_o land_n and_o lordship_n and_o therefore_o that_o our_o bishop_n be_v not_o the_o true_a follower_n of_o christ_n but_o walk_v in_o the_o step_n of_o antichrist_n sure_o our_o saviour_n christ_n do_v see_v that_o as_o the_o perpetual_a enemy_n of_o mankind_n do_v continual_o seek_v by_o all_o way_n to_o draw_v man_n from_o god_n so_o he_o do_v not_o use_v any_o mean_a more_o common_o then_o by_o honour_n glory_n riches_n and_o wealth_n and_o therefore_o when_o he_o see_v that_o christ_n can_v not_o by_o other_o temptation_n be_v overcome_v he_o assault_v he_o with_o ambition_n and_o desire_n of_o principality_n honour_n and_o lordship_n this_o temptation_n be_v therefore_o the_o more_o dangerous_a because_o man_n corrupt_a nature_n be_v of_o itself_o great_o incline_v to_o the_o love_n of_o the_o world_n &_o earthly_a pleasure_n wherefore_o i_o can_v deny_v but_o that_o our_o careful_a &_o love_a saviour_n do_v often_o &_o in_o many_o place_n warn_v his_o disciple_n and_o by_o they_o all_z we_o to_o beware_v of_o this_o work_n of_o satan_n and_o so_o much_o as_o and_o secure_a and_o with_o contempt_n &_o disdain_n of_o other_o think_v themselves_o free_a master_n and_o lord_n of_o god_n gift_n to_o use_v they_o even_o at_o their_o own_o pleasure_n &_o to_o the_o fulfil_n of_o their_o own_o fleshly_a fantasy_n on_o the_o contrary_a part_n when_o they_o that_o be_v poor_a &_o destitute_a of_o those_o gift_n shall_v hear_v the_o rich_a blame_v for_o
in_o deed_n that_o contentation_n of_o mind_n they_o shall_v have_v whensoever_o god_n call_v they_o to_o that_o necessity_n yea_o &_o when_o they_o be_v in_o their_o wealthy_a state_n that_o any_o condition_n of_o a_o christian_n common_a weal_n do_v give_v they_o they_o ought_v not_o in_o those_o thing_n to_o exceed_v but_o to_o keep_v that_o moderation_n that_o godliness_n require_v &_o reason_n and_o understanding_n so_o that_o by_o that_o branch_n we_o be_v teach_v that_o our_o understanding_n our_o reason_n &_o all_o the_o cogitation_n of_o our_o mind_n shall_v be_v occupy_v in_o nothing_o but_o in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n our_o power_n note_v all_o the_o strength_n and_o sense_n of_o our_o body_n and_o the_o ability_n of_o worldly_a substance_n and_o outward_a gift_n of_o god_n so_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o appertein_v to_o we_o either_o inward_o or_o outward_o as_o i_o have_v say_v but_o god_n whole_o require_v the_o same_o to_o his_o service_n and_o if_o we_o do_v fail_v therein_o we_o offend_v his_o justice_n and_o want_v of_o that_o perfect_a rule_n of_o life_n that_o be_v prescribe_v unto_o we_o insomuch_o that_o if_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n our_o saviour_n help_v not_o we_o deserve_v for_o the_o same_o everlasting_a damnation_n to_o the_o declaration_n of_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o this_o rule_n that_o we_o shall_v love_v teach_v we_o they_o be_v not_o god_n sacrament_n that_o they_o deliver_v unto_o we_o and_o so_o do_v a_o great_a number_n of_o we_o remain_v as_o no_o christian_n though_o they_o be_v such_o unworthy_a person_n as_o the_o unthankful_a mind_n of_o many_o do_v imagine_v they_o or_o as_o the_o uncharitable_a tongue_n and_o pen_n of_o some_o of_o late_a time_n have_v blaze_v they_o yet_o bring_v nothing_o unto_o you_o but_o god_n will_v out_o of_o his_o holy_a scripture_n for_o in_o deed_n they_o have_v not_o do_v otherwise_o howsoever_o their_o doctrine_n be_v deface_v you_o shall_v assure_o be_v persuade_v that_o they_o be_v the_o instrument_n of_o god_n blessing_n unto_o you_o although_o they_o that_o be_v superior_n say_v chrysostome_n and_o governor_n be_v evil_a and_o spot_v
