ingratiate_v themselves_o and_o their_o cause_n print_v also_o their_o desire_n of_o a_o toleration_n for_o independent_a government_n and_o that_o with_o cast_v of_o dirt_n upon_o the_o reformation_n and_o government_n of_o this_o national_a church_n what_o ever_o it_o may_v be_v as_o witness_v the_o protestation_n protest_v i_o a_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o a_o sufferer_n for_o it_o corinth_n galatia_n colossian_n timothy_n titus_n 15._o act_n 2._o cor._n 12._o chap._n 20._o ver._n 24._o 2._o cor._n 13._o chap._n 1._o 2._o 10._o ver._n the_o particular_n whereof_o i_o shall_v evince_v more_o large_o hereafter_o now_o if_o these_o primitive_a church_n who_o have_v all_o the_o officer_n and_o be_v settle_v by_o the_o apostle_n in_o all_o point_n according_a to_o christ_n order_n yet_o in_o those_o time_n can_v not_o do_v well_o independent_o how_o can_v we_o think_v that_o any_o particular_a congregation_n in_o these_o time_n which_o can_v be_v so_o settle_v have_v minister_n among_o they_o as_o appear_v by_o act_n 13._o v._n 1._o act._n 20._o v._n 36_o 37._o compare_v with_o ver._n 28._o so_o that_o in_o all_o case_n of_o doctrine_n and_o discipline_n have_v many_o minister_n to_o resolve_v and_o determine_v matter_n and_o to_o have_v carry_v they_o with_o the_o more_o gravity_n and_o authority_n they_o may_v have_v subsist_v the_o better_a independent_o whereas_o most_o particular_a congregation_n now_o have_v but_o few_o minister_n one_o or_o two_o nay_o according_a to_o their_o principle_n there_o may_v be_v none_o nor_o no_o officer_n at_o all_o and_o yet_o these_o congregation_n must_v be_v independent_a have_v all_o power_n and_o government_n independent_o before_o officer_n as_o well_o as_o after_o reason_n ii_o that_o government_n and_o power_n which_o cause_n man_n to_o run_v upon_o the_o manifest_a violation_n of_o the_o constant_a practice_n and_o example_n of_o the_o church_n during_o all_o the_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n and_o put_v church_n upon_o practice_n that_o be_v absurd_a unreasonable_a and_o prejudicial_a to_o the_o good_a of_o their_o soul_n that_o government_n be_v not_o of_o divine_a institution_n nor_o to_o be_v receive_v but_o such_o be_v the_o independent_a power_n and_o government_n of_o particular_a congregation_n the_o major_a be_v of_o undoubted_a truth_n and_o will_v be_v deny_v by_o none_o for_o the_o minor_a i_o will_v prove_v it_o in_o these_o follow_a instance_n first_o their_o independency_n force_v they_o either_o to_o have_v minister_n and_o officer_n without_o be_v ordain_v contrary_a to_o the_o practice_n and_o example_n of_o the_o church_n
they_o can_v grow_v up_o in_o grace_n and_o knowledge_n as_o become_v a_o church_n of_o christ_n there_o may_v be_v also_o all_o barbarousness_n and_o disorder_n for_o want_n of_o gift_n in_o pastor_n so_o nothing_o more_o pernicious_a than_o bad_a and_o unlearned_a minister_n second_o suppose_v they_o may_v choose_v well_o namely_o able_a man_n both_o for_o part_n and_o soundness_n 784._o in_o the_o faith_n and_o it_o be_v lawful_a also_o for_o the_o people_n to_o ordain_v yet_o it_o may_v so_o fall_v out_o according_a to_o their_o principle_n of_o a_o church_n that_o these_o visible_a saint_n can_v ordain_v officer_n as_o have_v no_o gift_n of_o prayer_n for_o public_a especial_o not_o able_a to_o conceive_v prayer_n concerning_o the_o action_n in_o hand_n namely_o the_o ordination_n of_o a_o minister_n neither_o have_v they_o any_o gift_n to_o make_v public_a exhortation_n and_o admonition_n to_o the_o pastor_n of_o his_o duty_n nor_o be_v able_a to_o know_v what_o to_o say_v to_o he_o at_o the_o admission_n of_o he_o into_o his_o office_n what_o shall_v be_v do_v now_o shall_v the_o work_n be_v stay_v and_o the_o church_n want_v a_o minister_n till_o she_o be_v able_a to_o do_v these_o work_n and_o duty_n they_o may_v for_o aught_o can_v be_v say_v be_v long_o nay_o ever_o without_o minister_n and_o so_o without_o preach_v of_o the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n which_o can_v but_o be_v very_o prejudicial_a to_o their_o salvation_n but_o to_o grant_v they_o that_o which_o need_v not_o be_v grant_v according_a to_o their_o principle_n that_o this_o church_n single_a pastor_n though_o able_a in_o his_o gift_n of_o exhortation_n and_o application_n may_v not_o be_v so_o able_a to_o try_v the_o gift_n requisite_a to_o a_o teacher_n who_o gift_n must_v be_v shall_v this_o teacher_n be_v ordain_v there_o be_v but_o one_o minister_n if_o minister_n of_o neighbour_n church_n may_v not_o join_v also_o consider_v if_o they_o do_v not_o fall_v into_o that_o which_o they_o complain_v against_o in_o the_o episcopacy_n namely_o for_o one_o man_n to_o have_v the_o sole_a power_n of_o ordination_n so_o that_o by_o all_o these_o particular_n you_o may_v see_v the_o assumption_n prove_v reason_n iii_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v think_v that_o christ_n will_v institute_v such_o a_o government_n of_o his_o church_n which_o afford_v no_o help_n nor_o allow_v no_o way_n or_o remedy_n no_o not_o for_o one_o time_n or_o prima_fw-la vice_fw-la for_o innocent_a person_n that_o be_v wrong_v but_o where_o be_v no_o place_n for_o appeal_n the_o party_n oppress_v must_v be_v the_o sole_a judge_n of_o the_o cause_n it_o be_v count_v a_o unequal_a unreasonable_a thing_n in_o government_n that_o party_n shall_v be_v judge_n at_o all_o much_o less_o the_o sole_a and_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v no_o way_n for_o person_n oppress_v to_o be_v right_v but_o now_o in_o this_o independent_a church_n government_n there_o be_v no_o relief_n no_o not_o at_o first_o for_o injure_a person_n nor_o way_n of_o appeal_n to_o other_o who_o be_v not_o party_n to_o hear_v their_o cause_n and_o determine_v here_o only_a party_n be_v judge_n and_o no_o other_o may_v be_v admit_v as_o for_o instance_n in_o one_o of_o their_o congregation_n the_o great_a number_n of_o that_o church_n as_o it_o do_v and_o may_v oft_o fall_v out_o be_v against_o the_o pastor_n or_o teacher_n and_o some_o other_o member_n upon_o a_o difference_n in_o some_o point_n of_o doctrine_n and_o be_v the_o great_a number_n the_o elder_n also_o take_v part_n with_o they_o they_o proceed_v most_o unjust_o to_o censure_n of_o deprivation_n and_o excommunication_n now_o if_o all_o the_o power_n lie_v independent_o in_o this_o particular_a church_n so_o as_o there_o may_v be_v no_o other_o as_o synod_n to_o appeal_v unto_o to_o hear_v the_o cause_n and_o right_v they_o this_o minister_n and_o brethren_n thus_o censure_v must_v lie_v under_o these_o oppression_n without_o all_o remedy_n to_o the_o censure_n of_o the_o rest_n in_o that_o church_n then_o by_o way_n of_o equity_n and_o analogy_n they_o be_v to_o be_v subject_v to_o a_o great_a company_n namely_o to_o the_o judgement_n of_o all_o the_o prophet_n in_o a_o province_n or_o nation_n thus_o paul_n though_o a_o apostle_n seek_v to_o win_v credit_n and_o obedience_n even_o to_o those_o order_n
