their_o poor_a soul_n and_o instead_o hereof_o they_o give_v unto_o they_o a_o flap_n with_o a_o fox-tail_n for_o instead_o of_o honour_v thou_o in_o thy_o own_o sacred_a and_o save_v ordinance_n they_o commend_v to_o thy_o people_n these_o superstitious_a and_o idolatrous_a service_n as_o the_o fruit_n of_o their_o proâ—d_fw-mi and_o profane_a popish_a heart_n which_o they_o commend_v as_o communion_n by_o this_o law_n of_o conformity_n therefore_o all_o parechiall_a church_n must_v have_v their_o table_n fix_v and_o never_o to_o be_v remove_v no_o not_o at_o the_o communion_n and_o so_o be_v fix_v they_o cease_v now_o to_o be_v any_o long_a table_n but_o put_v on_o the_o nature_n of_o altar_n which_o stand_v perpetual_o fix_v only_o here_o be_v one_o help_v peradventure_o for_o it_o if_o the_o bishop_n be_v please_v to_o give_v liberty_n to_o parish_n to_o remove_v the_o table_n into_o the_o midst_n â—â—r_n the_o communion_n this_o liberty_n always_o save_v so_o as_o here_o be_v all_o the_o hope_n of_o parish_n in_o this_o matter_n yet_o what_o hope_n when_o the_o bishop_n shall_v answer_v such_o suitor_n you_o be_v a_o sort_n of_o puritan_n will_v you_o be_v wise_a than_o your_o mother-church_n or_o wise_a than_o the_o sacred_a and_o holy_a synod_n who_o judge_v it_o fit_a and_o convenient_a that_o all_o church_n and_o chapel_n do_v conform_v themselves_o in_o this_o particular_a to_o the_o example_n of_o the_o cathedral_n or_o mother_n church_n and_o though_o the_o law_n give_v he_o a_o general_a liberty_n in_o this_o to_o grant_v it_o or_o no_o yet_o he_o have_v not_o so_o much_o as_o the_o name_n of_o altar_n and_o our_o communion_n book_n do_v not_o once_o name_v it_o a_o altar_n how_o come_v then_o this_o synod_n to_o be_v so_o bold_a as_o to_o call_v the_o table_n a_o altar_n and_o teach_v that_o it_o be_v and_o may_v be_v so_o call_v and_o what_o if_o some_o father_n call_v it_o so_o as_o they_o be_v a_o little_a too_o free_a though_o mean_v no_o harm_n in_o their_o allegorise_v which_o the_o romanist_n have_v make_v advantage_n of_o to_o advance_v their_o idolatry_n and_o lord_n thou_o shall_v try_v the_o spirit_n of_o these_o man_n whether_o for_o the_o love_n they_o bear_v to_o rome_n and_o to_o bring_v england_n to_o a_o perfect_a reconciliation_n with_o she_o they_o affect_v to_o call_v it_o a_o altar_n rather_o than_o a_o table_n though_o the_o time_n be_v not_o yet_o ripe_a for_o they_o full_o to_o manifest_v themselves_o and_o to_o display_v their_o roman_a colour_n in_o open_a field_n but_o for_o we_o we_o ought_v not_o in_o any_o sense_n to_o call_v the_o lord_n table_n a_o altar_n see_v the_o scripture_n call_v it_o only_o a_o table_n and_o never_o a_o altar_n and_o see_v also_o it_o be_v a_o easy_a inducement_n to_o popish_a idolatry_n and_o superstition_n to_o which_o use_v all_o papist_n use_v it_o and_o which_o use_v this_o synod_n by_o all_o sign_n show_v itself_o easy_a to_o be_v entreat_v to_o bring_v up_o again_o in_o the_o church_n of_o england_n for_o in_o the_o next_o place_n they_o make_v a_o order_n for_o rail_v in_o this_o altar_n to_o separate_v it_o from_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o church_n that_o none_o do_v touch_v it_o as_o if_o it_o be_v more_o holy_a and_o the_o matter_n thereof_o more_o precious_a than_o any_o other_o part_n of_o the_o church_n and_o by_o this_o altar-service_n whereas_o if_o the_o table_n be_v set_v in_o the_o midst_n and_o the_o communicant_n do_v come_v and_o sit_v round_o about_o it_o as_o many_o as_o can_v at_o a_o time_n and_o so_o do_v eat_v and_o drink_v the_o lord_n supper_n this_o be_v christ_n own_o ordinance_n but_o to_o come_v and_o kneel_v before_o a_o altar_n this_o be_v not_o according_a to_o christ_n ordinance_n nor_o be_v it_o aright_o to_o eat_v the_o lord_n supper_n at_o the_o lord_n table_n the_o last_o tging_n be_v after_o many_o fair_a pretence_n and_o preamble_n as_o of_o the_o church_n the_o house_n of_o god_n
