concern_v they_o especial_o to_o this_o principal_a part_n of_o it_o in_o fast_v and_o prayer_n which_o have_v be_v very_o long_o out_o of_o use_n that_o they_o have_v need_v not_o only_o light_o to_o their_o own_o accord_n and_o none_o can_v stay_v they_o hereupon_o it_o have_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o good_a that_o this_o way_n have_v be_v do_v unto_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o service_n to_o his_o majesty_n be_v to_o be_v impute_v unto_o your_o lordship_n diligent_a care_n who_o do_v so_o timely_a and_o effectual_o stir_v up_o man_n unto_o it_o especial_o and_o presume_v of_o the_o rest_n that_o when_o we_o shall_v be_v likewise_o command_v which_o we_o expect_v and_o hope_v for_o in_o time_n to_o keep_v solemn_a day_n of_o thanksgiving_n for_o the_o mitigate_a of_o this_o plague_n in_o so_o great_a measure_n in_o the_o most_o place_n and_o for_o the_o clean_a take_n of_o it_o away_o in_o many_o we_o will_v be_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n as_o ready_a to_o perform_v that_o part_n of_o service_n as_o we_o have_v be_v forward_o unto_o this_o and_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n according_a to_o our_o bind_a duty_n we_o will_v endeavour_v not_o only_o private_o to_o be_v thankful_a unto_o god_n but_o upon_o all_o such_o day_n as_o we_o have_v our_o public_a assembly_n to_o do_v it_o in_o some_o part_n and_o to_o call_v upon_o our_o people_n to_o be_v thankful_a to_o god_n with_o we_o both_o in_o hart_n word_n and_o life_n lest_o the_o lord_n for_o our_o unthankfulnes_n do_v return_v upon_o we_o with_o the_o same_o or_o some_o other_o great_a punishment_n of_o he_o which_o we_o have_v so_o much_o the_o more_o cause_n to_o fear_v unless_o we_o thus_o seek_v to_o prevent_v it_o because_o the_o late_a memory_n of_o so_o great_a a_o work_n both_o of_o justice_n in_o send_v the_o plague_n and_o of_o mercy_n in_o take_v it_o away_o be_v not_o so_o fresh_a &_o effectual_a with_o all_o man_n nay_o with_o very_o few_o as_o it_o shall_v but_o they_o like_v to_o ungracious_a child_n so_o soon_o forget_v the_o rod_n as_o it_o be_v off_o their_o back_n and_o see_v by_o these_o your_o lordship_n may_v take_v knowledge_n that_o by_o your_o godly_a incitation_n many_o be_v make_v more_o painful_a in_o their_o calling_n at_o the_o least_o for_o that_o time_n then_o otherwise_o they_o will_v have_v be_v whereby_o also_o god_n be_v more_o honour_v and_o the_o people_n more_o instruct_v your_o lordship_n will_n according_a to_o that_o high_a place_n wherein_o god_n have_v place_v you_o especial_o to_o that_o end_n take_v all_o opportunity_n by_o word_n and_o writing_n still_o to_o incite_v all_o man_n to_o be_v zealous_a and_o fervent_a in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n by_o give_v all_o good_a
advise_o consider_v how_o god_n have_v not_o only_o punish_v the_o wicked_a for_o their_o sin_n but_o that_o he_o have_v not_o spare_v his_o own_o child_n as_o that_o he_o not_o only_o utter_o all_o those_o thing_n that_o we_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o and_o we_o then_o make_v humble_a suit_n unto_o he_o for_o so_o then_o this_o be_v also_o another_o thing_n that_o as_o at_o all_o other_o time_n so_o most_o of_o all_o in_o the_o day_n of_o fast_o we_o must_v labour_v after_o even_o a_o increase_n of_o faith_n whereby_o we_o may_v be_v raise_v up_o in_o our_o soul_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n as_o high_a as_o the_o conscience_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o deserve_a punishment_n of_o they_o do_v cast_v we_o down_o and_o a_o full_a persuasion_n that_o we_o shall_v obtain_v the_o remove_n of_o those_o evil_n through_o the_o death_n &_o merit_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n which_o either_o present_o press_v we_o or_o just_o hang_v over_o our_o head_n for_o as_o true_a repentance_n humble_v we_o and_o as_o it_o be_v cast_v we_o down_o with_o one_o hand_n both_o in_o sorrow_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o confession_n of_o the_o same_o leave_v we_o not_o favour_n from_o god_n by_o how_o much_o we_o do_v then_o more_o than_o ordinary_o judge_v ourselves_o so_o that_o here_o be_v another_o thing_n to_o be_v further_v in_o by_o this_o outward_a abstinence_n namely_o mind_n in_o which_o wâ—_n must_v be_v further_v by_o the_o inward_a and_o outward_a affliction_n of_o the_o body_n and_o the_o mind_n that_o we_o may_v have_v a_o great_a hope_n and_o assurance_n then_o before_o that_o god_n for_o christ_n sake_n will_v be_v merciful_a unto_o we_o because_o we_o do_v according_a to_o his_o commandment_n more_o humble_a ourselves_o then_o before_o not_o for_o the_o merit_n or_o worthiness_n of_o that_o but_o because_o of_o the_o gracious_a promise_n which_o of_o his_o free_a mercy_n he_o have_v make_v to_o all_o those_o that_o thus_o abstinence_n must_v bring_v we_o to_o this_o contrition_n of_o heart_n so_o that_o must_v further_o we_o in_o our_o hope_n and_o therefore_o unto_o this_o abstinence_n there_o have_v be_v always_o adjoin_v as_o a_o thing_n inseparable_a supplication_n &_o prayer_n which_o can_v be_v at_o all_o in_o any_o acceptable_a manner_n without_o some_o hope_n and_o assurance_n from_o god_n that_o we_o have_v any_o thing_n in_o himself_o that_o he_o may_v prevail_v so_o must_v we_o in_o our_o prayer_n be_v so_o earnest_a &_o importunate_a with_o the_o lord_n that_o we_o rise_v not_o up_o from_o prayer_n or_o depart_v away_o from_o he_o until_o he_o have_v bless_v we_o and_o the_o hard_a that_o we_o find_v it_o to_o obtain_v any_o thing_n because_o of_o our_o sin_n the_o more_o earnest_o
