conformity_n viz._n that_o nothing_o be_v more_o contrary_a to_o the_o profession_n of_o the_o christian_a religion_n and_o particular_o to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o england_n than_o persecution_n for_o conscience_n sake_n only_o it_o be_v therefore_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v enact_v to_o this_o effect_n that_o whosoever_o be_v in_o a_o public_a office_n will_v not_o join_v himself_o to_o the_o high_a church_n party_n so_o as_o never_o more_o to_o communicate_v with_o any_o other_o part_n of_o the_o christian_a world_n although_o he_o believe_v the_o holy_a catholic_n churah_n and_o endeavour_v to_o show_v his_o faith_n by_o his_o work_n shall_v forfeit_v his_o office_n and_o a_o fine_a of_o 100_o l._n to_o the_o prosecutor_n etc._n etc._n now_o if_o the_o man_n do_v communicate_v with_o other_o good_a christian_n out_o of_o conscience_n as_o be_v abovesaid_a will_v not_o this_o be_v persecution_n for_o conscience_n only_o and_o pray_v sir_n be_v not_o the_o danger_n of_o establish_v the_o aforesaid_a truth_n the_o true_a reason_n why_o that_o truth_n be_v leave_v out_o of_o the_o preamble_n in_o the_o second_o edition_n of_o that_o bill_n and_o this_o consistent_a with_o the_o safety_n of_o the_o establish_v government_n either_o in_o church_n or_o state_n with_o the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o english_a nation_n with_o the_o practice_n of_o any_o wise_a government_n in_o the_o world_n or_o with_o the_o true_a intent_n and_o mean_v of_o the_o corporation_n and_o test_n act_n to_o admit_v any_o person_n whatsoever_o into_o public_a office_n and_o employment_n relate_v to_o the_o government_n either_o in_o country_n or_o corporation_n who_o be_v not_o sincere_a member_n of_o the_o national_a church_n and_o who_o do_v not_o hearty_o approve_v hand_n of_o person_n of_o one_o and_o the_o same_o persuasion_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n or_o to_o have_v a_o mixture_n and_o confusion_n of_o man_n of_o opposite_a principle_n in_o one_o and_o the_o same_o administration_n or_o in_o other_o word_n whether_o it_o be_v better_a to_o have_v all_o the_o public_a officer_n draw_v together_o the_o same_o way_n for_o the_o public_a good_a or_o to_o have_v some_o draw_v one_o way_n and_o some_o another_o and_o thereby_o tear_v the_o government_n between_o they_o in_o piece_n that_o be_v in_o short_a and_o in_o effect_n whether_o it_o be_v fit_a that_o the_o corporation_n and_o test_n act_n shall_v be_v enforce_v or_o repeal_v now_o that_o i_o may_v keep_v to_o the_o subject_a matter_n of_o the_o debate_n i_o must_v take_v leave_n to_o divide_v these_o question_n into_o several_a head_n because_o they_o seem_v to_o i_o too_o perplex_v as_o they_o be_v state_v and_o therefore_o see_v the_o subject_a matter_n be_v occasional_a conformity_n or_o occasional_a nonconformity_n first_o let_v we_o consider_v whether_o the_o occasional_a conformist_n or_o rather_o the_o occasional_a dissenter_n be_v not_o a_o sincere_a member_n of_o the_o national_a church_n who_o hearty_o approve_v of_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n and_o cheerful_o pay_v obedience_n to_o they_o and_o whether_o he_o and_o the_o churchman_n be_v of_o opposite_a principle_n or_o of_o one_o and_o the_o same_o persuasion_n in_o matter_n of_o religion_n second_o whether_o if_o the_o occasional_a bill_n have_v pass_v it_o have_v secure_v the_o government_n from_o such_o who_o be_v not_o sincere_a member_n of_o the_o national_a church_n nor_o hearty_o approve_v of_o the_o law_n of_o the_o land_n nor_o cheerful_o pay_v obedience_n to_o they_o but_o be_v of_o opposite_a principle_n and_o not_o
