to_o we_o the_o benefit_n of_o it_o if_o consider_v abstract_o and_o separately_z from_o the_o other_o necessary_a condition_n of_o it_o for_o he_o that_o expect_v the_o benefit_n of_o a_o part_n must_v observe_v not_o one_o but_o all_o the_o necessary_a term_n and_o condition_n of_o it_o from_o hence_o it_o may_v appear_v how_o necessary_a it_o be_v that_o we_o be_v all_o partaker_n of_o that_o one_o baptism_n and_o this_o consideration_n ought_v to_o alarm_n those_o person_n to_o examine_v well_o the_o ground_n whereon_o they_o proceed_v who_o separate_v from_o all_o other_o christian_n make_v it_o the_o singular_a part_n of_o their_o religion_n to_o deny_v baptism_n even_o to_o the_o child_n of_o christian_a parent_n for_o though_o god_n be_v not_o bind_v up_o to_o withhold_v his_o mercy_n where_o the_o default_n be_v not_o in_o the_o person_n themselves_o yet_o we_o have_v no_o certain_a rule_n to_o assure_v we_o that_o he_o will_v afford_v such_o mercy_n out_o of_o the_o way_n that_o he_o have_v prescribe_v but_o it_o be_v pure_o in_o his_o good_a pleasure_n and_o if_o baptism_n be_v ordinary_o the_o way_n of_o admission_n and_o entrance_n into_o that_o body_n whereof_o christ_n be_v the_o saviour_n then_o such_o person_n by_o deny_v they_o baptism_n do_v what_o in_o they_o lie_v to_o damn_v they_o which_o doubtless_o be_v a_o very_a unchristian_a part_n and_o though_o it_o be_v true_a in_o relation_n to_o person_n out_o of_o the_o covenant_n that_o they_o must_v first_o be_v qualify_v not_o only_o with_o a_o actual_a but_o a_o profess_a faith_n without_o which_o they_o be_v not_o capable_a of_o admission_n yet_o in_o reference_n to_o person_n in_o covenant_n the_o case_n be_v quite_o otherwise_o for_o the_o covenant_n be_v not_o to_o they_o alone_o but_o to_o their_o seed_n and_o the_o child_n be_v sanctify_v in_o their_o parent_n do_v follow_v their_o condition_n and_o be_v bear_v to_o privilege_n in_o the_o church_n which_o those_o without_z can_v claim_v and_o therefore_o ought_v not_o particular_o to_o be_v deny_v this_o without_o which_o they_o be_v not_o by_o the_o ordinary_a law_n of_o the_o covenant_n entitle_v to_o the_o rest_n but_o i_o will_v prosecute_v this_o no_o further_o my_o business_n be_v rather_o with_o adult_n person_n then_o child_n for_o though_o their_o salvation_n be_v by_o be_v of_o the_o body_n yet_o they_o have_v small_a influence_n on_o christian_a communion_n and_o until_o they_o lose_v that_o name_n be_v scarce_o able_a to_o disturb_v or_o break_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n which_o be_v the_o thing_n i_o be_o to_o explain_v viii_o the_o part_n of_o our_o christian_a unity_n be_v so_o close_o knit_v together_o that_o they_o seem_v to_o lead_v we_o by_o the_o hand_n from_o the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o so_o that_o it_o may_v seem_v somewhat_o a_o wonder_n how_o person_n shall_v for_o the_o generality_n be_v so_o woeful_o mistake_v about_o they_o for_o have_v thus_o lay_v the_o foundation_n of_o faith_n and_o be_v actual_o admit_v by_o the_o sacrament_n of_o baptism_n it_o will_v i_o suppose_v be_v easy_o agree_v on_o all_o hand_n that_o person_n be_v not_o only_o admit_v to_o the_o privilege_n and_o benefit_n of_o the_o society_n but_o come_v under_o a_o obligation_n to_o observe_v the_o law_n and_o do_v the_o duty_n of_o the_o society_n for_o no_o society_n whatsoever_o whether_o sacred_a or_o civil_a ever_o admit_v any_o to_o their_o privilege_n without_o tie_v they_o up_o to_o their_o rule_n it_o be_v true_a that_o in_o some_o society_n there_o be_v certain_a honorary_a or_o titular_a member_n but_o it_o be_v indeed_o only_a a_o title_n for_o where_o they_o be_v except_v from_o duty_n they_o be_v exclude_v from_o benefit_n but_o this_o be_v peculiar_a to_o the_o christ_n a_o religion_n that_o it_o admit_v none_o such_o but_o whoever_o do_v become_v a_o member_n profess_v it_o must_v fall_v under_o a_o obligation_n to_o perform_v the_o duty_n it_o require_v and_o by_o this_o we_o may_v perceive_v what_o further_a progress_n our_o christian_a unity_n must_v make_v for_o we_o must_v be_v unite_v in_o the_o consent_n profession_n and_o practice_n of_o all_o those_o thing_n which_o according_a to_o our_o several_a station_n in_o that_o society_n the_o law_n of_o christianity_n do_v require_v from_o we_o now_o these_o may_v have_v relation_n either_o to_o particular_a christian_n or_o to_o they_o as_o embody_v in_o particular_a society_n or_o to_o they_o consider_v under_o the_o notion_n of_o subject_n and_o governor_n or_o last_o to_o the_o duty_n and_o behaviour_n of_o governor_n towards_o each_o other_o ix_o every_o particular_a christian_a be_v bind_v to_o the_o sincere_a and_o constant_a profession_n and_o exercise_n of_o all_o those_o christian_a duty_n which_o the_o gospel_n require_v of_o every_o one_o in_o their_o single_a capacity_n as_o humility_n sobriety_n temperance_n patience_n and_o the_o like_a and_o their_o concurrence_n in_o and_o due_a observance_n of_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o only_o very_o profitable_a and_o comfortable_a to_o themselves_o but_o very_o honourable_a to_o their_o society_n but_o above_o all_o we_o be_v command_v to_o put_v on_o charity_n col._n 3._o 14._o and_o that_o not_o only_o for_o this_o reason_n that_o it_o virtual_o contain_v and_o in_o its_o own_o nature_n direct_v and_o provoke_v to_o the_o practice_n of_o all_o other_o christian_a duty_n on_o which_o account_n the_o apostle_n in_o the_o follow_a word_n style_v it_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d but_o also_o because_o our_o saviour_n himself_o have_v make_v it_o the_o character_n and_o badge_n of_o his_o follower_n for_o say_v he_o john_n 13._o 35._o by_o this_o christian_n have_v be_v and_o may_v be_v so_o fair_o copy_v out_o and_o handsome_o exercise_v by_o heathen_n and_o unbeliever_n that_o to_o outward_a appearance_n the_o one_o can_v be_v distinguish_v and_o end_n be_v thing_n in_o themselves_o not_o see_v and_o therefore_o that_o those_o virtue_n may_v appear_v to_o proceed_v from_o such_o christian_a principle_n and_o end_n they_o must_v be_v practise_v in_o conjunction_n with_o such_o other_o duty_n as_o do_v apparent_o testify_v what_o principle_n we_o own_v and_o that_o charity_n itself_o may_v be_v a_o mark_n of_o christ_n disciple_n
