church_n of_o england_n receive_v no_o member_n into_o their_o communion_n without_o baptism_n neither_o do_v presbyterian_o independent_n nor_o indeed_o any_o sort_n of_o christian_n that_o own_o ordinance_n admit_v any_o as_o a_o church-member_n without_o baptism_n we_o shall_v therefore_o direct_v this_o discourse_n to_o our_o dissent_v brethren_n of_o the_o baptise_a way_n only_o who_o in_o he_o be_v find_v no_o sin_n yet_o he_o be_v baptise_a before_o he_o enter_v upon_o his_o public_a ministry_n 3.15,16_o matt._n 3.15,16_o which_o be_v a_o most_o illustrious_a example_n and_o the_o pattern_n which_o the_o saint_n follow_v for_o in_o a_o word_n the_o great_a apostle_n paul_n and_o all_o those_o primitive_a saint_n record_v by_o the_o spirit_n to_o be_v believer_n and_o therefore_o holy_a be_v nevertheless_o baptise_a which_o may_v have_v be_v forbear_v but_o that_o it_o be_v a_o indispensable_a duty_n and_o whatsoever_o reason_n may_v be_v give_v why_o holiness_n without_o baptism_n may_v serve_v the_o like_a may_v be_v produce_v why_o holiness_n without_o any_o other_o ordinance_n may_v be_v sufficient_a for_o a_o believer_n and_o unless_o it_o be_v less_o exclusion_n of_o such_o as_o will_v not_o submit_v to_o it_o 2._o it_o suppose_v that_o whatsoever_o be_v not_o forbid_v in_o scripture_n be_v lawful_a and_o so_o the_o receive_v of_o believer_n that_o be_v not_o baptize_v to_o the_o supper_n be_v not_o prohibit_v be_v therefore_o lawful_a now_o that_o this_o be_v a_o pernicious_a way_n of_o argument_n have_v be_v large_o demonstrate_v we_o have_v a_o account_n of_o all_o be_v baptize_v into_o one_o body_n whether_o jew_n or_o gentile_n bond_n or_o free_n which_o comprehend_v all_o rank_n and_o degree_n of_o christian_n as_o be_v elsewhere_o demonstrate_v obj._n 5._o the_o phrase_n rom._n 6.3_o and_o gal._n 3.27_o as_o many_o of_o you_o as_o have_v be_v baptize_v into_o christ_n etc._n etc._n imply_v that_o all_o that_o be_v in_o those_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o galatia_n be_v not_o baptize_v ans_fw-fr if_o we_o consult_v the_o scripture_n with_o the_o coherence_n it_o will_v appear_v how_o weak_a this_o objection_n
