against_o the_o truth_n which_o a_o little_a better_a to_o understand_v we_o must_v know_v that_o before_o our_o fall_n the_o mind_n of_o man_n have_v two_o faculty_n about_o the_o truth_n of_o god_n 1._o the_o knowledge_n of_o it_o so_o far_o as_o be_v meet_v 2._o a_o assent_n approve_v that_o knowledge_n in_o stead_n of_o which_o be_v succeed_v two_o contrary_a corruption_n since_o the_o fall_n 1._o darkness_n in_o stead_n of_o that_o light_n of_o knowledge_n 2._o forwardness_n or_o reason_n against_o it_o for_o example_n when_o the_o understanding_n of_o man_n unconuert_v conceive_v something_o of_o that_o we_o deliver_v out_o of_o the_o word_n whereas_o it_o shall_v assent_v unto_o the_o law_n that_o it_o be_v good_a and_o the_o gospel_n that_o it_o be_v the_o arm_n of_o god_n unto_o salvation_n the_o wisdom_n of_o the_o flesh_n on_o the_o contrary_a it_o become_v enmity_n to_o all_o this_o it_o can_v find_v evasion_n to_o shift_v off_o the_o curse_n it_o can_v covenant_n know_v it_o who_o be_v out_o and_o will_v not_o be_v call_v in_o and_o this_o note_v a_o further_a misery_n than_o before_o namely_o that_o man_n be_v natural_o resolve_v in_o bypath_n delight_n in_o their_o wander_n and_o have_v no_o delight_n to_o hear_v of_o the_o path_n of_o life_n eternal_a doctr._n 1._o out_o of_o the_o first_o degree_n of_o the_o misery_n of_o our_o mind_n we_o learn_v what_o be_v the_o course_n of_o ungodly_a and_o unconuert_v man_n walk_n namely_o a_o foolish_a and_o unwise_a walk_n that_o which_o the_o lord_n speak_v of_o israel_n be_v true_a of_o every_o natural_a man_n my_o people_n be_v foolish_a they_o have_v not_o know_v i_o they_o be_v foolish_a child_n they_o be_v wise_a to_o do_v evil_a but_o to_o do_v well_o they_o know_v not_o the_o same_o far_o more_o precious_a wisdom_n than_o the_o other_o if_o they_o be_v deem_v simple_a foolish_a man_n who_o care_v not_o to_o wrong_v and_o hurt_v their_o body_n much_o more_o may_v such_o as_o deprive_v their_o soul_n of_o spiritual_a food_n raiment_n yea_o of_o eternal_a life_n itself_o if_o those_o who_o will_v exchange_v gold_n for_o a_o counter_a much_o more_o such_o as_o think_v it_o a_o good_a booty_n to_o gain_v a_o small_a portion_n of_o the_o world_n with_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o soul_n if_o they_o be_v fool_n who_o man_n so_o esteem_v much_o more_o who_o the_o lord_n so_o style_v as_o every_o where_o the_o natural_a and_o ungodly_a man_n and_o this_o not_o for_o one_o or_o two_o foolish_a action_n for_o thus_o the_o best_a even_o david_n himself_o confess_v that_o sometime_o he_o do_v very_o foolish_o but_o for_o that_o his_o whole_a course_n be_v the_o practice_n of_o notable_a folly_n and_o that_o we_o may_v see_v this_o truth_n in_o some_o instance_n we_o will_v note_v some_o main_a property_n of_o folly_n and_o see_v whether_o they_o be_v not_o most_o natural_a to_o every_o natural_a man_n the_o 1._o main_a property_n of_o fool_n and_o silly_a body_n be_v man_n that_o they_o know_v not_o the_o end_n of_o their_o life_n why_o god_n make_v they_o and_o put_v they_o into_o this_o world_n even_o so_o ask_v many_o man_n why_o god_n do_v inspire_v the_o breath_n of_o life_n on_o their_o face_n how_o few_o will_v give_v this_o direct_a answer_n that_o by_o glorify_v god_n in_o my_o call_n i_o may_v be_v lead_v to_o a_o better_a life_n hereafter_o man_n and_o beast_n to_o live_v upon_o the_o sea_n for_o fish_n and_o navigation_n the_o air_n for_o man_n and_o beast_n to_o breath_n in_o the_o sun_n moon_n and_o star_n for_o light_n heat_n and_o comfort_n the_o beast_n fish_n fowl_n etc._n etc._n for_o man_n but_o why_o thyself_o few_o will_v say_v for_o god_n but_o if_o they_o speak_v true_a some_o for_o themselves_o some_o for_o their_o family_n some_o for_o their_o pleasure_n some_o for_o wealth_n or_o some_o base_a end_n to_o which_o such_o a_o noble_a creature_n as_o man_n be_v shall_v be_v destinate_a the_o second_o property_n of_o folly_n be_v that_o as_o fool_n live_v for_o the_o present_a time_n if_o they_o can_v get_v meat_n drink_n sleep_n clothes_n and_o necessary_n for_o the_o present_a they_o forecast_v nothing_o to_o come_v even_o so_o ungodly_a man_n if_o they_o can_v get_v wealth_n and_o lay_v up_o thing_n present_a for_o many_o year_n to_o come_v they_o dream_v of_o no_o other_o heaven_n they_o forecast_v earthly_a thing_n as_o that_o we_o settle_v our_o contentment_n any_o where_o but_o where_o our_o inheritance_n purchase_n and_o our_o treasure_n be_v the_o which_o desire_v if_o it_o fill_v our_o
