be_v persuade_v that_o when_o we_o be_v in_o meditate_v on_o any_o goodness_n and_o love_v any_o rightcousnesse_n and_o adventure_v any_o holy_a business_n but_o the_o lord_n will_v come_v unto_o we_o and_o promise_v we_o life_n eternal_a therefore_o my_o dear_a brethren_n and_o sister_n adventure_v far_o for_o the_o religion_n of_o your_o soul_n and_o know_v that_o he_o shall_v go_v with_o you_o godly_a meditation_n man_n must_v come_v to_o lament_v their_o misery_n before_o god_n not_o rash_o nor_o rave_o nor_o furious_o but_o with_o a_o godly_a preparation_n again_o that_o the_o minister_n in_o any_o common_a danger_n must_v more_o earnest_o be_v humble_v then_o any_o other_o again_o see_v he_o call_v for_o such_o sorrow_n and_o such_o continuance_n thereof_o he_o thereby_o note_v that_o if_o god_n be_v once_o angry_a we_o must_v use_v all_o mean_n that_o can_v be_v find_v to_o appease_v he_o though_o it_o cost_v our_o sweet_a health_n and_o our_o dear_a blood_n but_o i_o will_v special_o misery_n observe_v this_o doctrine_n that_o all_o both_o minister_n and_o people_n when_o they_o come_v to_o entreat_v for_o the_o remove_n of_o the_o lord_n hand_n must_v be_v sure_a that_o they_o be_v thorough_o humble_v nehem._n 1._o 4._o their_o cause_n must_v be_v well_o ponder_v and_o weigh_v their_o mind_n must_v be_v well_o prepare_v and_o persuade_v their_o life_n must_v be_v most_o zealous_o reform_v and_o their_o continuance_n in_o their_o humiliation_n must_v be_v most_o instant_o and_o inviolable_o observe_v i_o have_v observe_v a_o great_a defect_n in_o the_o humiliation_n of_o many_o in_o the_o time_n of_o our_o late_a calamity_n of_o famine_n and_o war_n and_o plague_n when_o we_o be_v cast_v down_o before_o the_o lord_n for_o man_n will_v come_v to_o these_o exercise_n from_o tavern_n and_o alehouse_n from_o shop_n &_o other_o business_n no_o otherwise_o prepare_v then_o at_o another_o common_a time_n again_o the_o note_n of_o their_o pride_n in_o apparel_n and_o all_o bravery_n &_o fond_a expense_n they_o bring_v with_o they_o and_o come_v more_o like_a player_n than_o mourner_n into_o the_o lord_n house_n and_o also_o they_o be_v quick_o weary_a for_o some_o will_v never_o tarry_v till_o the_o end_n and_o other_o if_o they_o once_o come_v they_o never_o come_v more_o and_o sure_o these_o be_v too_o evident_a sign_n that_o we_o be_v not_o thorough_o humble_v and_o therefore_o no_o marvel_n though_o the_o plague_n prevail_v on_o so_o many_o and_o the_o famine_n have_v continue_v so_o long_o oh_o that_o therefore_o this_o exhortation_n of_o the_o prophet_n may_v work_v a_o new_a and_o often_o remembrance_n of_o unfeigned_a humility_n
and_o they_o sacrifice_v and_o none_o else_o but_o they_o alter_v and_o it_o come_v to_o one_o tribe_n and_o they_o also_o be_v abrogate_a and_o so_o it_o come_v to_o man_n approve_v in_o the_o fearful_a thing_n to_o advance_v any_o unto_o this_o to_o be_v the_o lord_n servant_n who_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o sit_v in_o the_o chair_n of_o moses_n and_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n why_o they_o shall_v minister_v in_o the_o church_n which_o be_v not_o worthy_a to_o be_v the_o porter_n of_o the_o door_n sure_o the_o profaneness_n of_o many_o in_o these_o place_n be_v so_o great_a and_o so_o damnable_a that_o beside_o the_o injury_n do_v to_o christ_n many_o run_v headlong_o into_o hell_n through_o the_o evil_a example_n of_o their_o pastor_n the_o lord_n servant_n follow_v their_o master_n in_o holiness_n and_o not_o the_o world_n in_o lewdness_n they_o look_v to_o the_o soul_n but_o these_o wait_n for_o the_o fleece_n they_o preach_v upon_o conscience_n these_o do_v it_o for_o fashion_n they_o preach_v only_o the_o truth_n but_o these_o bring_v the_o fire_n of_o poetry_n philosophy_n and_o such_o like_a to_o the_o altar_n of_o god_n to_o conclude_v they_o be_v the_o helper_n unto_o faith_n but_o these_o quench_v their_o own_o gift_n and_o keep_v other_o from_o pure_a knowledge_n the_o 1._o reason_n be_v these_o because_o the_o whole_a life_n of_o the_o minister_n must_v be_v only_o exercise_v in_o spiritual_a &_o heavenly_a matter_n act._n 6._o 2._o 4._o the_o apostle_n will_v consent_v to_o nothing_o which_o be_v not_o consonant_a to_o their_o ministry_n or_o that_o may_v any_o way_n hinder_v the_o same_o and_o for_o this_o cause_n the_o lord_n have_v so_o provide_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v exempt_v from_o all_o worldly_a business_n and_o receive_v their_o maintenance_n from_o other_o not_o only_o for_o themselves_o but_o for_o their_o child_n and_o family_n the_o which_o thing_n consider_v will_v advertise_v a_o number_n of_o we_o that_o we_o which_o war_n shall_v not_o entangle_v ourselves_o with_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n we_o shall_v never_o give_v over_o our_o service_n for_o that_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o to_o forsake_v god_n we_o must_v never_o cause_v our_o sin_n to_o make_v we_o be_v thrust_v out_o of_o the_o ministry_n for_o that_o will_v exclude_v we_o from_o heaven_n we_o must_v never_o be_v idle_a and_o unprofitable_a servant_n in_o our_o ministry_n for_o that_o will_v work_v our_o curse_n and_o we_o must_v never_o be_v weary_a of_o our_o place_n for_o that_o will_v weaken_v and_o lessen_v our_o gift_n but_o alas_o once_o there_o may_v come_v no_o razor_n on_o the_o minister_n head_n but_o now_o adays_o head_n and_o beard_n and_o all_o be_v pull_v if_o we_o shall_v not_o now_o look_v to_o our_o own_o maintenance_n we_o may_v soon_o want_v sustenance_n and_o our_o child_n be_v easy_o suffer_v to_o beg_v though_o their_o parent_n have_v well_o deserve_v of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n another_o reason_n be_v because_o none_o may_v offer_v they_o any_o violence_n 2_o but_o the_o lord_n account_v it_o his_o own_o exod._n 16._o 8._o and_o he_o say_v by_o the_o prophet_n david_n touch_v not_o my_o anointed_n and_o do_v my_o prophet_n no_o harm_n how_o desperate_a be_v the_o case_n of_o all_o man_n who_o be_v daily_o by_o word_n and_o deed_n revile_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o think_v themselves_o happy_a if_o they_o can_v give_v a_o priest_n a_o deadly_a blow_n by_o their_o envenom_a tongue_n true_o i_o will_v say_v our_o own_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o lament_v this_o mischief_n although_o we_o can_v amend_v it_o put_v to_o your_o tear_n and_o your_o prayer_n that_o they_o may_v sound_v before_o god_n see_v god_n can_v any_o although_o many_o year_n to_o come_v some_o that_o shall_v be_v save_v no_o doubt_n but_o adam_n have_v some_o fruit_n in_o cain_n as_o noah_n have_v in_o cham_n abraham_n in_o esau_n and_o jacob_n in_o the_o son_n of_o his_o bondseruant_n and_o if_o this_o be_v not_o so_o good_a man_n may_v do_v well_o to_o leave_v of_o from_o marry_v but_o god_n which_o have_v determine_v the_o world_n will_v be_o strong_a rather_o pray_v the_o more_o and_o go_v the_o far_o and_o hear_v the_o often_o and_o obey_v the_o willingly_a and_o profess_v more_o earnest_o because_o god_n have_v make_v thou_o sick_a or_o poor_a or_o weak_a or_o rich_a or_o tender_a or_o honourable_a or_o learned_a for_o i_o tell_v thou_o that_o there_o be_v no_o excuse_n from_o come_v into_o the_o lord_n vineyard_n thou_o can_v
