woman_n which_o also_o bewail_v and_o lament_v he_o but_o jesus_n turn_v to_o they_o say_v you_o daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n weep_v not_o for_o i_o but_o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n for_o behold_v the_o day_n be_v come_v in_o which_o they_o shall_v say_v bless_a be_v the_o barren_a and_o the_o womb_n that_o never_o bear_v and_o the_o pap_n that_o never_o give_v suck_v then_o shall_v they_o begin_v to_o say_v to_o the_o mountain_n fall_v on_o we_o and_o to_o the_o hill_n cover_v we_o for_o if_o they_o do_v these_o thing_n in_o a_o green_a tree_n what_o shall_v be_v do_v in_o a_o dry_a so_o soon_o as_o ever_o he_o be_v ease_v of_o that_o cruel_a and_o heavy_a burden_n of_o his_o cross_n by_o the_o assistance_n of_o simon_n he_o present_o fall_v into_o holy_a discourse_n express_v the_o tender_a compassion_n of_o his_o heart_n over_o jerusalem_n and_o the_o fall_n die_a perish_a church_n and_o church-state_n of_o the_o jew_n in_o which_o discourse_n 1._o see_v the_o occasion_n of_o his_o discourse_n there_o be_v a_o great_a multitude_n follow_v he_o among_o they_o there_o be_v mourn_a woman_n who_o lament_v for_o he_o and_o over_o he_o for_o his_o death_n approach_v v._o 27._o as_o it_o be_v the_o manner_n of_o the_o jew_n jer._n 9_o 17_o 18_o 19_o call_v for_o mourn_a woman_n skilful_a in_o mourning_n that_o our_o eye_n may_v run_v down_o with_o tear_n etc._n etc._n though_o jesus_n do_v not_o call_v for_o any_o mourner_n to_o follow_v he_o yet_o there_o be_v such_o as_o follow_v he_o as_o dangerous_a as_o the_o time_n be_v to_o appear_v to_o be_v a_o lover_n and_o a_o believer_n in_o he_o by_o this_o mourning_n of_o these_o jesus_n take_v occasion_n to_o discourse_v 2._o see_v the_o manner_n of_o his_o entrance_n upon_o his_o discourse_n v._o 28._o jesus_n turn_v to_o they_o and_o say_v daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n where_o we_o see_v what_o a_o kind_a look_n jesus_n give_v unto_o these_o mourner_n that_o follow_v he_o we_o see_v also_o what_o a_o holy_a compellation_n he_o give_v they_o you_o daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n that_o be_v you_o child_n of_o the_o church_n 3._o see_v the_o matter_n of_o his_o speech_n unto_o they_o and_o to_o all_o the_o auditory_a in_o four_o particular_n 1._o weep_v not_o for_o i_o that_o be_v not_o only_o for_o i_o it_o be_v a_o not_o comparative_a viz._n not_o so_o much_o or_o not_o only_o for_o i_o for_o i_o shall_v tell_v you_o of_o another_o object_n of_o your_o weep_a and_o lamentation_n he_o do_v not_o forbid_v they_o weep_v for_o he_o much_o less_o do_v he_o check_v or_o blame_v they_o for_o it_o but_o he_o inform_v they_o of_o another_o object_n to_o weep_v for_o beside_o he_o you_o now_o weep_v because_o of_o my_o death_n this_o day_n but_o i_o tell_v you_o of_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v the_o effect_n and_o punishment_n of_o that_o which_o be_v do_v this_o day_n in_o put_v i_o to_o death_n jerusalem_n shall_v smart_v for_o what_o they_o do_v this_o day_n and_o when_o that_o day_n of_o vengeance_n be_v come_v there_o will_v be_v other_o matter_n of_o weep_v then_o yet_o you_o see_v 2._o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n weep_v both_o for_o the_o present_a generation_n and_o for_o the_o rise_a generation_n look_v not_o only_o on_o present_a thing_n but_o consider_v what_o your_o present_a action_n do_v portend_v and_o threaten_v to_o bring_v upon_o you_o and_o do_v you_o but_o consider_v what_o punishment_n calamity_n and_o misery_n this_o day_n act_n will_v bring_v upon_o jerusalem_n you_o will_v then_o see_v that_o there_o be_v great_a cause_n to_o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n as_o well_o as_o for_o i_o 3._o jesus_n christ_n give_v they_o a_o reason_n why_o they_o shall_v weep_v for_o themselves_o and_o for_o their_o child_n viz._n because_o of_o those_o terrible_a day_n that_o be_v come_v upon_o they_o which_o be_v describe_v first_o by_o that_o usual_a note_n of_o attention_n behold_v show_v the_o certainty_n of_o such_o calamity_n come_v on_o they_o and_o the_o terribleness_n thereof_o in_o both_o these_o respect_n those_o day_n will_v be_v remarkable_a behold_v 2_o those_o day_n be_v describe_v by_o the_o terrible_a effect_n thereof_o which_o prove_v they_o to_o be_v a_o just_a matter_n of_o mourning_n and_o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n those_o terrible_a effect_n of_o the_o calamity_n of_o those_o day_n be_v two_o v._o 29_o 30._o 1._o they_o shall_v bless_v the_o barrâ—n_a woman_n womb_n &_o dry_a breast_n it_o be_v a_o reproach_n in_o israel_n to_o be_v barren_a gen._n 30.23_o luk._n 1.25_o but_o now_o they_o shall_v count_v they_o happy_a that_o have_v no_o child_n to_o see_v and_o feel_v these_o bitter_a calamity_n the_o word_n imply_v that_o it_o be_v a_o curse_n and_o misery_n to_o have_v child_n to_o be_v sufferer_n of_o these_o calamity_n which_o be_v a_o argument_n to_o prove_v that_o these_o calamity_n will_v be_v great_a yea_o exceed_o great_a the_o consideration_n whereof_o do_v show_v that_o you_o have_v cause_n to_o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n as_o well_o as_o for_o i_o 2._o the_o second_o effect_n will_v be_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v in_o such_o desperation_n that_o they_o shall_v wish_v the_o mountain_n to_o fall_v on_o they_o and_o the_o hill_n to_o cover_v they_o which_o be_v a_o scripture_n expression_n of_o desperation_n rev._n 6.15_o 16_o 17._o desperation_n be_v one_o of_o hell_n torment_n such_o terrible_a day_n be_v come_v on_o you_o and_o your_o child_n which_o shall_v cause_v you_o to_o weep_v for_o yourselves_o and_o for_o your_o child_n as_o well_o as_o for_o i_o and_o all_o this_o jesus_n christ_n do_v foretell_v they_o with_o a_o heart_n more_o bleed_v with_o compassion_n over_o they_o his_o die_a church_n then_o over_o his_o own_o die_a body_n now_o bleed_v with_o furrow_n on_o his_o back_n and_o thorny_a wound_n on_o his_o head_n and_o therefore_o exhort_v they_o to_o add_v this_o ditty_n unto_o their_o present_a mourning_n for_o he_o 4._o he_o give_v a_o demonstrative_a reason_n that_o such_o at_o least_o if_o not_o which_o sin_n do_v ripen_v they_o for_o wrath_n as_o dry_a wood_n be_v fit_v and_o prepare_v for_o the_o fire_n this_o reason_n be_v communicate_v with_o deep_a and_o elegant_a wisdom_n so_o as_o that_o the_o enemy_n can_v not_o easy_o interpret_v it_o or_o apply_v it_o so_o as_o to_o stop_v they_o in_o their_o way_n or_o hinder_v they_o from_o put_v he_o to_o death_n because_o that_o be_v the_o work_n which_o jesus_n christ_n do_v willing_o expose_v himself_o unto_o be_v that_o upon_o which_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n elect_n depend_v thus_o jesus_n christ_n express_v this_o reason_n if_o they_o execute_v these_o crueltye_n upon_o i_o a_o innocent_a person_n as_o unmeet_a for_o such_o punishment_n as_o green_a wood_n for_o the_o fire_n then_o what_o shall_v befall_v they_o who_o be_v by_o this_o sin_n add_v to_o their_o many_o other_o sin_n full_o ripe_a for_o wrath_n as_o dry_a wood_n be_v fit_v for_o the_o fire_n he_o do_v not_o say_v how_o hot_a the_o fire_n shall_v be_v but_o he_o say_v what_o shall_v be_v do_v to_o the_o dry_a to_o show_v that_o their_o misery_n shall_v be_v unexpressible_a yea_o unconceivable_a sect._n 3_o their_o arrive_v at_o
