they_o have_v slip_v and_o fall_v from_o their_o good_a purpose_n and_o yet_o be_v soon_o unsettle_a again_o they_o be_v in_o very_o good_a case_n this_o day_n or_o week_n to_o withstand_v any_o sin_n and_o yet_o to_o morrow_n or_o next_o week_n unsettle_a and_o sensible_o distemper_v in_o their_o prosperity_n soon_o forgetful_a of_o their_o fervent_a care_n which_o they_o have_v and_o then_o as_o much_o mislike_v themselves_o for_o it_o when_o they_o see_v it_o and_o to_o be_v short_a they_o be_v much_o grieve_v for_o their_o sin_n and_o yet_o oft_o overcome_v of_o they_o by_o inward_a suggestion_n and_o outward_a occasion_n and_o what_o be_v such_o a_o life_n but_o a_o combat_n and_o conflict_n which_o although_o it_o may_v seem_v miserable_a yet_o be_v it_o safe_a and_o the_o life_n that_o be_v void_a of_o this_o be_v the_o life_n full_a of_o woe_n and_o danger_n furthermore_o whatsoever_o their_o earthly_a deal_n be_v although_o they_o neglect_v they_o not_o yet_o they_o be_v not_o most_o deep_o and_o earnest_o set_v their_o heart_n upon_o they_o as_o far_o as_o they_o can_v espy_v it_o in_o themselves_o but_o often_o look_v to_o the_o principal_a and_o that_o which_o be_v most_o worth_a that_o they_o may_v find_v peace_n betwixt_o god_n discourage_v and_o their_o heart_n through_o ignorance_n and_o unacquaintance_n in_o their_o christian_a course_n know_v what_o hardness_n and_o difficulty_n be_v in_o their_o way_n they_o be_v many_o time_n discourage_v but_o they_o who_o have_v lay_v their_o foundation_n strong_o rise_v up_o after_o some_o heaviness_n and_o discomfort_v out_o of_o their_o sleepiness_n and_o security_n complain_v thereof_o and_o come_v to_o themselves_o again_o help_n all_o good_a help_n that_o they_o can_v enjoy_v they_o be_v glad_a of_o public_a or_o private_a and_o thus_o i_o mean_v by_o the_o strength_n hereof_o they_o have_v oft_o and_o much_o refresh_n of_o their_o mind_n and_o put_v away_o much_o tediousness_n fearful_a pang_n and_o danger_n of_o evil_a by_o all_o which_o and_o such_o like_a it_o may_v be_v perceive_v what_o the_o thought_n of_o such_o be_v and_o how_o their_o heart_n in_o great_a part_n be_v occupy_v and_o although_o they_o have_v not_o as_o the_o former_a sort_n which_o i_o have_v speak_v of_o ability_n and_o strength_n to_o occupy_v and_o exercise_v their_o sense_n and_o mind_n so_o continual_o and_o constant_o to_o be_v heavenly_a heart_a and_o to_o have_v god_n their_o guide_n so_o sensible_o as_o they_o for_o want_n of_o experience_n and_o perhaps_o knowledge_n to_o yet_o be_v they_o much_o delight_v with_o the_o good_a example_n of_o such_o as_o go_v before_o they_o and_o give_v they_o light_v and_o to_o be_v frame_v after_o they_o as_o they_o be_v after_o christ_n be_v the_o thing_n which_o they_o most_o look_v after_o and_o desire_v they_o have_v through_o god_n goodness_n prevail_v somewhat_o especial_o at_o sometime_o against_o their_o strong_a corruption_n which_o be_v wont_a to_o bear_v too_o much_o sway_n in_o they_o they_o earnest_o be_v set_v against_o the_o small_a sin_n and_o such_o as_o seem_v less_o dangerous_a as_o the_o idle_a and_o unprofitable_a roving_n of_o their_o brain_n which_o do_v not_o direct_o so_o much_o carry_v they_o after_o evil_a as_o hinder_v they_o from_o good_a blindefold_v their_o judgement_n first_o and_o then_o poison_v the_o will_n afterward_o as_o the_o dream_v of_o outward_a peace_n and_o prosperity_n of_o long_a life_n of_o pleasure_n and_o profit_n vain_a wish_n of_o that_o which_o other_o have_v be_v thing_n precious_a in_o their_o eye_n which_o they_o be_v oft_o tickle_v with_o till_o they_o come_v to_o better_a remembrance_n of_o themselves_o much_o like_o the_o apostle_n when_o they_o be_v yet_o weak_a dream_v of_o promotion_n of_o a_o earthly_a kingdom_n and_o who_o shall_v be_v great_a among_o their_o fellow_n which_o toy_n and_o other_o like_a building_n of_o castle_n in_o the_o air_n the_o devil_n have_v fill_v not_o only_o their_o head_n but_o also_o their_o heart_n with_o the_o delight_n of_o they_o sometime_o and_o their_o mouth_n also_o with_o the_o talk_n of_o they_o as_o their_o chief_a pleasure_n so_o that_o they_o have_v through_o custom_n long_o lie_v in_o they_o they_o can_v so_o easy_o and_o ready_o cast_v they_o off_o though_o they_o see_v the_o shame_n and_o vanity_n of_o they_o their_o labour_n therefore_o of_o their_o mind_n i_o mean_v be_v in_o great_a part_n this_o to_o keep_v themselves_o from_o be_v take_v up_o of_o they_o see_v good_a meditation_n be_v hinder_v yea_o and_o estrange_v hereby_o sometime_o prevail_a sometime_o prevail_v against_o whereby_o their_o sorrow_n be_v the_o more_o but_o they_o do_v not_o all_o this_o while_n see_v the_o happiness_n of_o this_o their_o combat_n which_o seem_v their_o great_a misery_n because_o it_o be_v certain_a good_a that_o for_o their_o great_a good_a they_o be_v hold_v under_o of_o their_o infirmity_n even_o that_o they_o may_v be_v the_o more_o humble_a when_o they_o see_v themselves_o so_o unperfect_a and_o corrupt_v who_o yet_o have_v dream_v sometime_o before_o that_o they_o be_v void_a of_o that_o of_o all_o in_o this_o that_o they_o may_v not_o in_o the_o least_o thing_n offend_v or_o displease_v god_n this_o saint_n peter_n set_v forth_o by_o the_o same_o similitude_n of_o young_a child_n when_o he_o teach_v young_a christian_n how_o they_o must_v look_v to_o grow_v

to_o be_v persuade_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n preach_v rather_o than_o to_o be_v allow_v in_o their_o madness_n and_o folly_n who_o verify_v most_o right_o the_o say_n of_o the_o wiseman_n that_o there_o be_v a_o way_n that_o seem_v pleasant_a to_o they_o 14.16_o but_o the_o issue_n thereof_o be_v the_o way_n of_o death_n god_n suffer_v they_o as_o he_o do_v the_o gentile_n to_o walk_v in_o their_o own_o way_n but_o to_o leave_v they_o as_o sufficient_o convince_v of_o a_o woeful_a estate_n even_o by_o the_o testimony_n of_o man_n who_o have_v any_o judgement_n and_o to_o go_v forward_o with_o that_o which_o be_v in_o hand_n that_o be_v to_o show_v how_o this_o doctrine_n work_v in_o he_o who_o by_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o true_a faith_n and_o assure_a hope_n of_o salvation_n we_o be_v to_o know_v that_o he_o remain_v not_o a_o idle_a and_o unprofitable_a hearer_n as_o sometime_o and_o as_o many_o other_o still_o do_v but_o be_v secret_o draw_v he_o can_v tell_v how_o by_o the_o unspeakable_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n to_o be_v persuade_v that_o the_o doctrine_n teach_v do_v conerne_n he_o 1.9_o the_o lord_n give_v he_o with_o his_o knowledge_n wisdom_n which_o be_v a_o gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n whereby_o he_o appll_v general_a thing_n particular_o to_o himself_o and_o that_o he_o thereby_o speak_v unto_o he_o as_o well_o as_o he_o do_v to_o any_o other_o in_o the_o denounce_v the_o threat_n of_o the_o law_n 15.4_o and_o everlasting_a damnation_n and_o his_o eye_n be_v now_o open_v to_o believe_v this_o he_o think_v himself_o the_o miserable_a of_o all_o other_o who_o before_o nothing_o at_o all_o regard_v the_o welfare_n of_o his_o soul_n but_o think_v himself_o in_o as_o good_a case_n to_o godward_o as_o any_o other_o he_o now_o perceive_v i_o say_v himself_o not_o only_o a_o loathsome_a creature_n in_o god_n sight_n through_o the_o jeprosie_n of_o sin_n but_o withal_o a_o most_o curse_a and_o damn_a creature_n subject_a to_o all_o god_n plague_n in_o this_o world_n and_o to_o condemnation_n in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v for_o although_o the_o world_n lie_v in_o darkness_n and_o believe_v not_o the_o law_n of_o god_n lest_o it_o shall_v be_v convict_v by_o it_o and_o therefore_o can_v believe_v the_o promise_n of_o the_o gospel_n yet_o god_n otherwise_o provide_v for_o his_o that_o they_o by_o see_v and_o feel_v break_n off_o of_o our_o course_n and_o a_o go_v out_o of_o the_o way_n even_o into_o cross_a path_n and_o byway_n wherein_o the_o least_o danger_n be_v to_o return_v back_o again_o which_o if_o it_o be_v but_o the_o loss_n of_o one_o day_n journey_n especial_o when_o we_o go_v about_o any_o matter_n of_o weight_n will_v be_v no_o small_a grief_n especial_o when_o our_o business_n be_v weighty_a and_o require_v speed_n and_o therefore_o much_o more_o in_o this_o christian_a course_n be_v the_o high_a way_n to_o heaven_n from_o whence_o when_o we_o have_v stray_v willing_o we_o can_v easy_o come_v into_o the_o way_n again_o but_o rather_o go_v further_o to_o our_o exceed_a hurt_n and_o danger_n this_o with_o much_o inconvenience_n beside_o will_v follow_v if_o the_o word_n of_o god_n require_v a_o daily_a walk_n with_o he_o after_o such_o rule_n as_o he_o give_v we_o we_o notwithstanding_o shall_v not_o regard_v they_o but_o walk_v at_o random_n and_o some_o day_n frame_v ourselves_o thereunto_o and_o some_o day_n not_o at_o all_o or_o one_o day_n keep_v compass_n and_o another_o day_n none_o or_o be_v well_o occupy_v in_o some_o part_n of_o it_o and_o in_o the_o which_o they_o say_v for_o they_o object_n through_o the_o ignorance_n that_o be_v in_o they_o and_o other_o infirmity_n carry_v they_o as_o a_o whirlwind_n that_o they_o be_v not_o to_o be_v urge_v to_o follow_v this_o word_n of_o god_n so_o particular_o for_o it_o distract_v they_o sore_o but_o every_o man_n in_o the_o state_n he_o be_v in_o they_o say_v be_v to_o carry_v himself_o as_o he_o think_v good_a in_o his_o common_a action_n and_o business_n they_o hope_v man_n be_v no_o child_n to_o be_v appoint_v what_o they_o shall_v do_v when_o yet_o god_n cease_v not_o to_o sound_v this_o in_o our_o ear_n continual_o 1._o cor._n 10._o whether_o we_o eat_v or_o drink_v etc._n etc._n so_o that_o i_o may_v well_o answer_v they_o that_o god_n have_v not_o only_o leave_v his_o scripture_n needless_o of_o other_o man_n or_o of_o their_o deal_n be_v wont_a to_o be_v common_a with_o they_o and_o in_o solitariness_n a_o spend_v of_o their_o thought_n and_o desire_n after_o the_o like_a manner_n vain_o until_o they_o be_v able_a more_o wise_o to_o discern_v how_o to_o give_v every_o duty_n in_o the_o day_n his_o time_n and_o how_o to_o occupy_v both_o the_o one_o and_o the_o other_o throughout_o the_o day_n but_o they_o have_v with_o hearty_a thanks_n to_o god_n protest_v that_o after_o they_o have_v attain_v to_o this_o they_o see_v far_o more_o clear_o into_o the_o practice_n of_o christianity_n than_o ever_o before_o they_o do_v and_o find_v the_o lord_n yoke_v far_o more_o easy_a to_o they_o and_o themselves_o settle_v with_o more_o sound_a peace_n in_o the_o lead_n of_o their_o life_n this_o report_n of_o some_o christian_n who_o i_o know_v well_o i_o have_v set_v down_o where_o by_o this_o little_a the_o rest_n may_v be_v conjecture_v for_o the_o better_a encourage_v of_o the_o reader_n to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o a_o daily_a direction_n for_o the_o course_n of_o his_o life_n and_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o rest_v in_o a_o general_a and_o uncertain_a obedience_n to_o god_n and_o let_v nothing_o that_o i_o have_v say_v of_o they_o be_v think_v needless_a or_o unmeete_a for_o we_o as_o long_o as_o we_o can_v see_v good_a reason_n for_o this_o which_o they_o do_v but_o know_v we_o that_o this_o kind_n of_o serve_v god_n both_o may_v be_v and_o be_v and_o have_v be_v god_n be_v thank_v use_v of_o many_o of_o god_n servant_n though_o i_o will_v not_o say_v in_o a_o like_a manner_n and_o aught_o to_o be_v of_o the_o rest_n as_o every_o one_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o see_v into_o it_o and_o therefore_o i_o purpose_v to_o thrust_v no_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n have_v not_o so_o much_o seek_v for_o the_o sound_a practice_n of_o a_o godly_a life_n by_o read_v the_o story_n of_o holy_a man_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n as_o to_o report_v general_o that_o they_o have_v be_v holy_a neither_o have_v reap_v that_o benefit_n by_o the_o scripture_n in_o enjoy_v a_o sweet_a life_n above_o other_o man_n as_o the_o lord_n in_o much_o mercy_n have_v afford_v they_o for_o though_o the_o sect_n of_o the_o family_n of_o love_n the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o sundry_a other_o lie_a spirit_n do_v fancy_v a_o course_n which_o the_o scripture_n know_v not_o and_o some_o of_o they_o also_o fantastical_o have_v for_o every_o day_n in_o the_o week_n devise_v a_o order_n to_o be_v follow_v as_o the_o read_n of_o certain_a task_n nothing_o less_o than_o proper_a to_o direct_v their_o life_n yet_o in_o this_o which_o i_o here_o propound_v namely_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v daily_o direct_v in_o our_o whole_a course_n i_o have_v follow_v no_o fancy_n and_o dream_n of_o man_n but_o have_v in_o all_o good_a conscience_n speak_v from_o god_n and_o draw_v it_o from_o the_o scripture_n both_o for_o the_o learned_a and_o simple_a high_a and_o low_a one_o and_o other_o and_o be_v never_o in_o vain_a to_o the_o right_a user_n of_o it_o although_o i_o deny_v not_o but_o that_o a_o skilfull_a handler_n of_o it_o may_v have_v set_v it_o down_o far_o more_o exquisite_o but_o from_o whence_o be_v the_o difficulty_n that_o it_o be_v no_o more_o in_o practice_n be_v a_o treasure_n of_o so_o infinite_a value_n and_o that_o so_o many_o pray_v and_o some_o of_o they_o often_o to_o lead_v a_o godly_a life_n yet_o when_o and_o where_o they_o shall_v not_o there_o they_o favour_v themselves_o and_o say_v they_o be_v weak_a and_o unable_a from_o whence_o i_o say_v be_v this_o direction_n but_o from_o hence_o that_o they_o will_v put_v no_o diligence_n thereunto_o to_o observe_v their_o way_n in_o which_o they_o prosper_v and_o contrariwise_o also_o there_o be_v no_o answerable_a travel_n nor_o labour_n for_o skill_n and_o experience_n in_o this_o christian_a course_n to_o that_o which_o be_v in_o all_o other_o but_o every_o little_a be_v tedious_a to_o they_o and_o wearisome_a they_o be_v seven_o year_n at_o other_o trade_n to_o learn_v they_o though_o they_o be_v apt_a to_o they_o and_o forward_o in_o they_o before_o they_o be_v think_v fit_a to_o occupy_v by_o themselves_o but_o yet_o without_o seven_o year_n or_o seven_o month_n diligent_a exercise_v of_o the_o rule_n of_o christian_n life_n for_o before_o they_o be_v convert_v to_o the_o obedience_n of_o god_n what_o reckon_v be_v to_o be_v make_v of_o their_o profess_v they_o will_v be_v think_v fit_a to_o do_v as_o the_o best_a in_o this_o trade_n of_o christian_n living_n although_o it_o be_v clean_o against_o their_o nature_n nay_o i_o say_v more_o he_o be_v a_o rare_a man_n note_n who_o can_v be_v persuade_v to_o be_v guide_v by_o religion_n and_o the_o rule_v thereof_o but_o seven_o week_n constant_o i_o may_v true_o say_v seven_o day_n for_o if_o he_o who_o will_v but_o so_o long_o give_v over_o himself_o to_o live_v by_o faith_n and_o walk_v with_o god_n he_o will_v never_o seek_v to_o be_v loosen_v and_o set_v at_o liberty_n again_o to_o his_o old_a life_n but_o will_v renounce_v it_o utter_o so_o great_a shall_v his_o advantage_n be_v in_o this_o course_n and_o trade_n and_o as_o i_o know_v that_o this_o be_v the_o main_a and_o great_a cause_n why_o so_o few_o be_v light_n and_o example_n to_o other_o so_o when_o people_n be_v teach_v the_o truth_n clear_o concern_v this_o matter_n for_o i_o be_o sure_a that_o it_o be_v neglect_v of_o many_o through_o ignorance_n let_v they_o either_o resolve_v to_o be_v govern_v through_o the_o day_n and_o from_o day_n to_o day_n or_o let_v they_o look_v to_o find_v small_a rejoice_v in_o the_o christian_n life_n with_o much_o uncomfortablenesse_n which_o otherwise_o need_v not_o to_o be_v and_o therefore_o in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n let_v man_n think_v and_o judge_v of_o themselves_o as_o god_n word_n teach_v they_o yea_o let_v they_o profess_v as_o practice_v a_o christian_n life_n after_o seven_o year_n twice_o tell_v than_o the_o hard_a trade_n after_o half_a seven_o and_o as_o it_o be_v with_o many_o of_o they_o who_o never_o learn_v their_o occupation_n well_o that_o they_o be_v never_o skilful_a in_o it_o nor_o thrive_v by_o it_o as_o other_o do_v so_o one_o especial_a cause_n why_o many_o never_o practice_v godliness_n to_o the_o welfare_n of_o their_o soul_n neither_o prosper_v nor_o be_v well_o like_v therein_o be_v because_o they_o never_o sound_o learned_a how_o to_o live_v godly_a for_o continuance_n and_o constant_o one_o day_n as_o a_o other_o note_n but_o peece_v and_o patch_v up_o the_o same_o with_o here_o a_o good_a deed_n and_o there_o another_o and_o in_o be_v sometime_o devout_a and_o zealous_a the_o kindness_n for_o such_o duty_n be_v in_o use_n daily_o do_v hold_v we_o from_o some_o evil_n which_o we_o shall_v otherwise_o do_v beside_o see_v particular_a family_n be_v the_o member_n and_o part_n of_o the_o church_n and_o every_o governor_n be_v that_o in_o the_o family_n that_o the_o minister_n be_v in_o the_o congregation_n therefore_o if_o they_o be_v not_o accustom_v to_o worship_n and_o serve_v god_n at_o home_n how_o shall_v they_o be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o with_o profit_n in_o the_o assembly_n especial_o see_v experience_n teach_v that_o the_o mind_n be_v unseasoned_a all_o the_o week_n at_o home_n be_v further_o off_o from_o goodness_n on_o the_o sabbath_n and_o yet_o all_o which_o be_v do_v this_o way_n both_o public_o and_o private_o be_v little_a enough_o even_o in_o the_o best_a christian_n and_o that_o we_o come_v the_o often_o and_o more_o cheerful_o hereunto_o as_o oft_o as_o it_o shall_v behoove_v we_o we_o must_v know_v and_o consider_v that_o we_o have_v therein_o communion_n and_o fellowship_n with_o the_o lord_n and_o be_v admit_v to_o speak_v and_o break_v our_o mind_n unto_o he_o and_o so_o have_v our_o soul_n most_o sweet_o refresh_v thereby_o as_o if_o we_o meet_v before_o he_o public_o and_o what_o be_v like_a unto_o such_o liberty_n that_o in_o a_o reverend_a sort_n we_o may_v be_v admit_v to_o speak_v unto_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o have_v he_o make_v answer_n to_o we_o again_o so_o that_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v hard_o for_o we_o to_o be_v bring_v to_o enjoy_v so_o great_a commodity_n but_o rather_o to_o count_v our_o state_n the_o more_o happy_a the_o oft_o that_o we_o may_v be_v partaker_n of_o such_o a_o benefit_n again_o it_o be_v meet_v that_o we_o shall_v in_o this_o sort_n have_v our_o recourse_n to_o he_o daily_o to_o the_o end_n that_o our_o whole_a conversation_n may_v savour_n of_o he_o that_o as_o all_o abundance_n of_o heavenly_a odour_n that_o be_v of_o spiritual_a grace_n do_v flow_v from_o his_o majesty_n to_o all_o that_o be_v about_o he_o and_o by_o the_o prayer_n of_o faith_n come_v near_o he_o more_o fragrant_a than_o aaron_n ointment_n so_o we_o be_v conversant_a with_o he_o in_o this_o heavenly_a manner_n may_v hereby_o as_o by_o a_o sweet_a preservative_n keep_v ourselves_o from_o all_o annoyance_n of_o satan_n and_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v no_o wisdom_n for_o we_o to_o be_v long_o from_o he_o in_o this_o manner_n especial_o have_v such_o free_a access_n unto_o he_o whensoever_o we_o list_v this_o reason_n shall_v the_o easy_o persuade_v we_o because_o we_o profane_a rash_a and_o so_o in_o our_o behaviour_n testify_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o worldly_a mind_n and_o be_v any_o thing_n more_o to_o be_v desire_v then_o the_o change_v of_o this_o course_n but_o what_o be_v fit_a than_o this_o when_o we_o join_v daily_o together_o in_o such_o holy_a manner_n against_o it_o even_o there_o where_o the_o fault_n be_v commit_v and_o thus_o i_o have_v show_v that_o there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o we_o shall_v think_v much_o to_o tie_v ourselves_o daily_o as_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o these_o duty_n weigh_v now_o a_o little_a what_o companion_n we_o have_v in_o the_o scripture_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o they_o 18.19_o abraham_n be_v renown_v of_o god_n for_o his_o diligence_n and_o faithfulness_n in_o the_o perform_v of_o these_o exercise_n of_o religion_n in_o his_o family_n for_o instruct_v they_o and_o therefore_o no_o doubt_n pray_v with_o they_o see_v all_o thing_n be_v sanctify_v by_o the_o word_n and_o prayer_n 24.15_o 1._o tim._n interpretation_n tongue_n or_o knowledge_n thereto_o because_o they_o think_v that_o the_o child_n of_o god_n may_v and_o shall_v do_v so_o such_o dream_n and_o fantastical_a pang_n satan_n raise_v in_o the_o heart_n as_o well_o of_o such_o as_o have_v have_v some_o taste_n and_o feel_n of_o god_n favour_n as_o of_o other_o who_o have_v go_v about_o the_o same_o foolish_a flesh_n too_o easy_o like_v of_o and_o consent_v thereto_o that_o if_o christ_n be_v with_o they_o and_o god_n love_v they_o under_o that_o colour_n all_o shall_v be_v bear_v with_o that_o they_o do_v wherein_o who_o learn_v to_o live_v by_o it_o while_o they_o have_v god_n word_n a_o light_n to_o their_o step_n for_o by_o it_o they_o abide_v in_o god_n favour_n and_o be_v further_o uphold_v in_o their_o christian_a course_n and_o without_o it_o if_o they_o will_v be_v bold_a to_o venture_v as_o little_a child_n without_o a_o stay_n they_o shall_v soon_o see_v to_o their_o cost_n what_o danger_n they_o may_v grow_v unto_o second_o that_o they_o may_v advise_o consider_v their_o faith_n and_o confidence_n assure_v they_o of_o so_o great_a good_a thing_n from_o god_n daily_o that_o this_o love_n of_o god_n constrain_v they_o to_o give_v themselves_o over_o to_o god_n as_o they_o be_v able_a and_o therefore_o in_o reverence_n and_o holy_a fear_n to_o carry_v themselves_o so_o as_o they_o have_v the_o word_n a_o lantern_n and_o light_n to_o their_o step_n 119.105_o and_o to_o suspect_v all_o other_o boldness_n to_o be_v rash_a presumption_n which_o the_o devil_n according_a to_o his_o wont_a manner_n and_o custom_n labour_v to_o draw_v they_o into_o that_o he_o may_v hinder_v they_o as_o much_o as_o he_o can_v from_o enjoy_v the_o full_a fruit_n of_o their_o faith_n here_o although_o he_o can_v altogether_o deprive_v they_o of_o salvation_n itself_o in_o humility_n let_v they_o think_v base_o of_o themselves_o that_o they_o may_v keep_v far_o from_o this_o bold_a experience_n but_o let_v the_o best_a also_o know_v that_o it_o fall_v out_o oft_o time_n in_o one_o hour_n or_o day_n when_o man_n wax_v somewhat_o more_o careless_a in_o uphold_v faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n which_o come_v not_o to_o pass_v in_o many_o year_n and_o for_o such_o as_o be_v in_o fear_n and_o danger_n of_o this_o 28.14_o let_v they_o know_v that_o the_o great_a measure_n of_o faith_n do_v bring_v answerable_a measure_n of_o humility_n and_o teach_v such_o to_o fear_v their_o own_o infirmity_n and_o satan_n cruelty_n and_o to_o observe_v themselves_o lest_o they_o will_v be_v little_a enough_o for_o the_o enable_v of_o we_o to_o stand_v safe_a and_o upright_o in_o they_o and_o to_o keep_v our_o heart_n in_o the_o peaceable_a and_o faithful_a serve_v of_o god_n and_o otherwise_o our_o froward_a nature_n be_v sudden_o provoke_v by_o loss_n injury_n heavy_a tiding_n disappointing_n of_o our_o hope_n or_o other_o such_o molestation_n when_o we_o look_v for_o no_o such_o thing_n before_o will_v pass_v her_o bound_n in_o a_o moment_n and_o carry_v we_o into_o sundry_a unquietness_n and_o when_o we_o be_v unsettle_a in_o such_o a_o manner_n we_o do_v easy_o may_v not_o be_v destitute_a these_o therefore_o if_o we_o enjoy_v not_o the_o benefit_n of_o daily_a to_o make_v the_o heavenly_a life_n sweet_a and_o pleasant_a unto_o we_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o so_o many_o cross_n as_o we_o meet_v with_o 5.4.5_o and_o namely_o hope_v which_o experience_n bring_v it_o can_v no_o otherwise_o be_v but_o that_o there_o shall_v arise_v many_o unsetling_n discouragement_n and_o unchearefull_a time_n even_o unto_o they_o which_o have_v receive_v some_o good_a fruit_n by_o the_o gospel_n so_o far_o off_o shall_v it_o be_v from_o they_o to_o learn_v experience_n of_o god_n help_n in_o their_o need_n whereby_o they_o may_v hope_v for_o the_o like_a afterward_o but_o to_o say_v somewhat_o of_o other_o occasion_n by_o which_o the_o devil_n hinder_v our_o proceed_n in_o a_o godly_a life_n prosperity_n if_o we_o live_v under_o abundance_n and_o outward_a blessing_n of_o god_n enjoy_v health_n peace_n sufficiency_n of_o all_o thing_n for_o this_o life_n be_v we_o then_o free_a from_o danger_n on_o his_o behalf_n nay_o
and_o the_o pride_n of_o life_n to_o be_v subject_a to_o he_o a_o honour_n which_o king_n and_o prince_n for_o the_o most_o part_n attain_v not_o unto_o for_o many_o of_o they_o aswell_o as_o of_o other_o worship_v the_o beast_n and_o offer_v to_o he_o their_o crown_n and_o willing_o submit_v themselves_o to_o his_o slavery_n and_o this_o honour_n which_o he_o bequeathe_v to_o his_o faithful_a one_o be_v one_o commodity_n and_o fruit_n of_o his_o provident_a care_n and_o fatherly_a regard_n that_o he_o have_v over_o they_o and_o yet_o in_o that_o there_o be_v no_o end_n of_o this_o but_o that_o he_o will_v continue_v it_o towards_o they_o throughout_o their_o life_n they_o and_o that_o in_o more_o certainty_n and_o assurance_n it_o be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o to_o be_v have_v in_o admiration_n whereas_o in_o the_o mean_a while_n they_o who_o be_v none_o of_o he_o nor_o nourter_v in_o his_o family_n which_o be_v his_o church_n can_v enjoy_v the_o least_o part_n of_o this_o liberty_n they_o can_v believe_v nor_o be_v persuade_v of_o any_o such_o thing_n at_o any_o time_n neither_o dare_v they_o promise_v to_o themselves_o that_o he_o will_v be_v with_o they_o and_o be_v a_o shelter_n unto_o they_o but_o for_o want_v thereof_o they_o smart_v be_v harden_v in_o their_o heart_n and_o let_v loose_a after_o their_o own_o desire_n to_o commit_v any_o sin_n that_o their_o heart_n lust_v after_o even_o with_o greediness_n and_o that_o because_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o that_o especial_a care_n over_o they_o that_o he_o have_v over_o his_o own_o belove_a one_o to_o keep_v they_o from_o it_o this_o prerogative_n i_o say_v the_o wicked_a man_n of_o the_o world_n and_o unregenerate_a not_o only_o have_v not_o while_o they_o remain_v in_o that_o estate_n it_o pleasure_v in_o good_n trust_v in_o friend_n and_o make_v flesh_n their_o arm_n they_o return_v speedy_o as_o out_o of_o open_a and_o manifest_a sin_n and_o thereby_o become_v more_o careful_a another_o time_n and_o when_o they_o see_v how_o many_o buffet_n light_a upon_o other_o who_o have_v small_a regard_n of_o sobriety_n or_o measure_n keep_v they_o see_v their_o portion_n to_o be_v great_a in_o restrein_v themselves_o from_o that_o excess_n in_o lawful_a thing_n which_o they_o keep_v no_o measure_n in_o and_o thus_o much_o be_v say_v of_o the_o first_o part_n or_o branch_n of_o this_o privilege_n wherein_o may_v be_v see_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v offer_v great_a favour_n to_o his_o child_n to_o so_o many_o as_o esteem_v of_o it_o that_o the_o glory_n of_o present_a thing_n and_o prosperity_n in_o this_o world_n which_o undo_v many_o shall_v yet_o not_o bewitch_v nor_o deceive_v they_o but_o they_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o escape_v these_o snare_n by_o the_o edge_n so_o eagerlie_a to_o follow_v they_o in_o their_o profane_a course_n and_o the_o abundance_n of_o iniquity_n do_v cool_v their_o fervency_n in_o seek_v to_o wean_v their_o heart_n from_o such_o poison_a and_o deceitful_a bait_n and_o dainty_n as_o they_o see_v they_o so_o greedy_o to_o devour_v for_o otherwise_o though_o they_o be_v frail_a yet_o have_v receive_v a_o taste_n of_o the_o heavenly_a doctrine_n which_o be_v the_o only_a mother_n and_o nourisher_n of_o true_a sobriety_n they_o shall_v not_o so_o easy_o forget_v themselves_o and_o be_v overcome_v of_o their_o vain_a desire_n for_o if_o popish_a dream_n and_o fantasy_n without_o all_o ground_n of_o god_n word_n have_v so_o enchant_a prince_n and_o other_o person_n of_o great_a possession_n that_o they_o have_v draw_v they_o from_o their_o pomp_n and_o many_o solemnity_n into_o monastery_n and_o nunnery_n for_o the_o deceivable_a hope_n of_o salvation_n shall_v not_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n much_o more_o prevail_v with_o they_o who_o have_v have_v a_o right_a taste_n of_o it_o to_o renounce_v dangerous_a and_o unlawful_a liberty_n and_o although_o they_o be_v lead_v from_o one_o error_n to_o another_o yet_o if_o error_n may_v do_v so_o much_o with_o they_o shall_v not_o the_o truth_n do_v much_o more_o with_o the_o child_n of_o the_o truth_n to_o abide_v in_o it_o and_o be_v govern_v by_o it_o it_o be_v pity_n that_o any_o of_o the_o lord_n belove_v shall_v offer_v such_o dishonour_n to_o the_o glorious_a word_n of_o god_n as_o to_o refuse_v the_o government_n of_o it_o and_o give_v occasion_n to_o the_o unbeliever_n to_o say_v that_o god_n diet_v his_o people_n so_o mean_o in_o his_o own_o house_n that_o they_o be_v drive_v to_o eat_v with_o the_o intemperate_a at_o their_o table_n as_o it_o be_v their_o poison_a dainty_n but_o let_v this_o reproof_n make_v any_o such_o of_o god_n servant_n ashamed_a as_o have_v give_v occasion_n of_o it_o and_o let_v they_o not_o follow_v the_o excess_n of_o such_o as_o know_v no_o better_o and_o when_o they_o shall_v find_v this_o doctrine_n hard_a to_o be_v practise_v that_o be_v to_o use_v their_o prosperity_n right_o and_o sober_o if_o then_o such_o matter_n as_o this_o be_v be_v read_v and_o well_o weigh_v of_o they_o and_o the_o example_n of_o those_o which_o be_v contrarilie_o mind_v what_o bondage_n they_o be_v in_o i_o doubt_v not_o but_o that_o the_o hardness_n which_o they_o complain_v of_o shall_v in_o good_a measure_n be_v assuage_v chap._n 9_o of_o the_o seven_o privilege_n concern_v the_o affliction_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o namely_o of_o the_o first_o branch_n of_o the_o same_o that_o be_v how_o they_o may_v be_v free_a from_o many_o of_o those_o trouble_n which_o do_v light_a on_o and_o meet_v with_o the_o altogether_o in_o that_o they_o be_v his_o child_n which_o other_o by_o their_o sin_n do_v pluck_v upon_o themselves_o ps_n 32.10.11_o second_o he_o deliver_v they_o out_o of_o many_o which_o have_v speak_v of_o and_o which_o enjoy_v the_o say_v privilege_n and_o see_v all_o god_n child_n be_v such_o as_o may_v do_v so_o therefore_o even_o they_o may_v be_v deliver_v from_o many_o trouble_n and_o affliction_n one_o as_o well_o as_o another_o which_o yet_o the_o ungodly_a and_o unregenerate_a can_v escape_v for_o they_o who_o heart_n be_v cleanse_v and_o sanctify_a so_o that_o they_o true_o hate_v all_o manner_n of_o sin_n and_o more_o special_o renounce_v in_o their_o life_n the_o sin_n which_o they_o know_v who_o endeavour_n to_o have_v a_o good_a conscience_n in_o all_o thing_n and_o do_v all_o this_o with_o delight_n and_o with_o delight_n also_o do_v daily_o use_v the_o mean_n to_o grow_v forward_o in_o this_o course_n how_o can_v the_o plague_n and_o calamity_n take_v hold_v on_o they_o which_o do_v on_o other_o man_n who_o be_v stranger_n to_o such_o a_o course_n for_o the_o great_a and_o sore_a punishment_n and_o trouble_n that_o fall_v upon_o any_o be_v
