flesh_n and_o the_o child_n of_o the_o promise_n 1._o at_o the_o beginning_n of_o this_o chapter_n we_o find_v the_o apostle_n grievous_o lament_v and_o bemoan_v of_o the_o jew_n at_o the_o consideration_n of_o their_o miserable_a state_n i_o say_v the_o truth_n in_o christ_n say_v he_o and_o lie_v not_o my_o conscience_n also_o bear_v i_o witness_n in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o i_o have_v great_a heaviness_n and_o continual_a sorrow_n in_o my_o heart_n for_o i_o can_v wish_v myself_o accurse_v from_o christ_n for_o my_o brethren_n my_o kinsman_n according_a to_o the_o flesh._n poor_a heart_n say_v he_o they_o will_v perish_v they_o be_v a_o miserable_a sad_a and_o helpless_a people_n their_o eye_n be_v darken_v that_o they_o may_v not_o see_v 11.10_o and_o their_o back_n be_v bow_v down_o always_o wherefore_o have_v they_o not_o the_o mean_n of_o grace_n yes_o very_o and_o that_o in_o goodly_a measure_n first_o they_o be_v israelite_n to_o who_o pertain_v the_o be_v of_o israel_n neither_o because_o they_o be_v the_o seed_n of_o abraham_n be_v they_o child_n but_o in_o isaac_n shall_v thy_o seed_n be_v call_v that_o be_v they_o that_o be_v the_o child_n of_o the_o flesh_n they_o be_v not_o the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o the_o child_n of_o the_o promise_n shall_v be_v count_v for_o the_o seed_n so_o then_o here_o you_o see_v that_o they_o that_o be_v only_o the_o child_n of_o the_o flesh_n as_o the_o great_a part_n of_o israel_n be_v they_o be_v those_o that_o be_v neither_o count_v for_o the_o seed_n the_o child_n of_o promise_n nor_o the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o be_v reject_v and_o of_o the_o reprobation_n this_o therefore_o shall_v at_o this_o time_n serve_v for_o the_o first_o scripture-demonstration_n 2._o another_o scripture_n you_o have_v in_o the_o eleven_o chapter_n of_o this_o epistle_n from_o these_o word_n 11.7_o the_o election_n have_v obtain_v it_o and_o the_o rest_n be_v blind_v these_o word_n be_v shed_v word_n by_o the_o former_a you_o may_v see_v how_o the_o holy_a ghost_n distinguish_v or_o divide_v between_o man_n and_o man_n the_o son_n and_o the_o son_n of_o adam_n as_o many_o as_o be_v ordain_v to_o eternal_a life_n believe_v if_o by_o many_o here_o we_o be_v to_o understand_v every_o individual_a than_o not_o only_o the_o whole_a world_n must_v at_o least_o believe_v the_o gospel_n of_o which_o we_o see_v the_o most_o fall_v short_a but_o they_o must_v be_v ordain_v to_o eternal_a life_n which_o other_o scripture_n contradict_v for_o there_o be_v the_o rest_n beside_o the_o elect_n the_o stubble_n and_o chaff_n as_o well_o as_o wheat_n many_o therefore_o must_v here_o include_v but_o some_o for_o though_o israel_n be_v as_o the_o sand_n of_o the_o sea_n a_o remnant_n shall_v be_v save_v i_o may_v here_o multiply_v many_o other_o text_n but_o in_o the_o mouth_n of_o two_o or_o three_o witness_n shall_v every_o word_n be_v establish_v let_v these_o therefore_o for_o this_o suffice_v to_o prove_v that_o there_o be_v a_o reprobation_n for_o this_o i_o say_v though_o the_o child_n of_o the_o flesh_n the_o rest_n beside_o the_o election_n and_o the_o like_a be_v not_o mention_v in_o the_o word_n yet_o see_v there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o the_o child_n of_o the_o promise_n the_o seed_n the_o child_n of_o god_n and_o the_o like_a and_o that_o too_o under_o several_a other_o phrase_n as_o predestinate_v foreknow_v choose_a in_o christ_n and_o write_v in_o the_o book_n of_o life_n and_o appoint_v unto_o life_n with_o many_o other_o i_o say_v see_v these_o thing_n be_v thus_o apparent_a it_o be_v without_o doubt_n that_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n as_o a_o reprobation_n also_o rom._n 8._o ephes._n 1.3_o 4._o 1_o thes._n 5.9_o nay_o further_o from_o the_o very_a word_n election_n it_o follow_v avoidable_a for_o whether_o you_o take_v it_o as_o relate_v to_o this_o of_o distinguish_v between_o person_n as_o touch_v the_o world_n to_o come_v or_o with_o reference_n to_o god_n act_n of_o choose_v this_o or_o that_o man_n to_o this_o or_o that_o office_n work_n or_o employment_n
