little_a cistern_n o_o weak_a believer_n shall_v be_v fill_v with_o sweetness_n because_o christ_n will_v use_v thy_o cistern_n as_o a_o evidence_n of_o his_o sea_n christ_n will_v at_o once_o evince_n and_o convince_v other_o wickedness_n by_o the_o sweetness_n of_o his_o carriage_n towards_o thou_o notwithstanding_o thy_o weakness_n chap._n vii_o some_o use_v of_o all_o this_o i_o be_o loath_a to_o let_v so_o precious_a a_o point_n go_v without_o its_o application_n it_o may_v be_v of_o singular_a use_n if_o christ_n will_v be_v so_o sweet_a as_o to_o help_v i_o hope_v he_o will_v and_o therefore_o first_o this_o may_v inform_v we_o in_o the_o difference_n between_o christ_n carriage_n and_o the_o creature_n we_o have_v a_o proverb_n the_o weak_a be_v turn_v to_o the_o wall_n but_o man_n practise_v otherwise_o cast_v they_o into_o the_o kennel_n and_o trample_v upon_o they_o there_o ah_o lord_n how_o unlike_a be_v man_n to_o christ_n he_o be_v very_o tender_a to_o ward_n his_o weak_a member_n they_o be_v very_o harsh_a christ_n carry_v weak_a saint_n in_o his_o bosom_n and_o man_n will_v not_o let_v they_o be_v in_o their_o land_n o_o england_n england_n thy_o unkind_a carriage_n to_o christ_n weak_a one_o make_v i_o much_o fear_n lest_o he_o destroy_v thou_o how_o dare_v thou_o be_v cruel_a to_o they_o to_o who_o christ_n be_v kind_a very_o christ_n will_v destroy_v thou_o if_o thou_o cease_v not_o from_o these_o unkind_a that_o i_o say_v not_o unmerciful_a carriage_n of_o thou_o towards_o he_o those_o that_o he_o embrace_v thou_o persecute_v fear_v cast_v off_o i_o i_o be_o so_o feeble_a that_o i_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a and_o so_o foul_a that_o i_o do_v much_o which_o be_v bad_a i_o be_o so_o weak_a that_o i_o can_v come_v to_o he_o and_o therefore_o i_o can_v think_v that_o he_o will_v be_v so_o kind_a to_o come_v to_o i_o ah_o poor_a soul_n when_o do_v you_o ever_o find_v christ_n so_o unkind_a in_o his_o carriage_n as_o to_o make_v you_o speak_v thus_o when_o be_v christ_n a_o wilderness_n to_o thou_o what_o harshenesse_n have_v thou_o ever_o find_v in_o he_o that_o thou_o speak_v thus_o hardly_o of_o he_o sure_o i_o upon_o some_o occasion_n as_o it_o be_v by_o accident_n they_o become_v weak_a and_o feeble_a as_o now_o man_n who_o be_v that_o i_o may_v so_o say_v habitual_o strong_a and_o so_o not_o liable_a unto_o that_o constant_a weakness_n which_o be_v in_o child_n may_v yet_o sometime_o be_v accidental_o weaken_v by_o some_o great_a work_n which_o they_o be_v to_o do_v some_o great_a sorrow_n or_o sickness_n under_o which_o they_o lie_v or_o else_o by_o some_o great_a and_o desperate_a fall_n which_o they_o have_v have_v in_o like_a manner_n believer_n who_o be_v grow_v up_o to_o man_n in_o christ_n jesus_n and_o so_o free_v from_o that_o habitual_a weakness_n which_o be_v in_o babe_n yet_o notwithstanding_o sometime_o come_v to_o be_v accidental_o weak_a by_o reason_n either_o of_o great_a service_n to_o which_o christ_n call_v they_o or_o sharp_a suffering_n unto_o which_o christ_n do_v bring_v they_o or_o else_o by_o some_o fall_v into_o sin_n which_o through_o infirmity_n and_o as_o it_o be_v by_o accident_n they_o have_v take_v now_o of_o christ_n sweet_a carriage_n unto_o such_o i_o suppose_v the_o prophet_n do_v speak_v here_o under_o the_o metaphor_n of_o a_o shepherd_n sweet_a carriage_n towards_o those_o that_o be_v with_o young_a even_o the_o strong_a of_o the_o flock_n such_o as_o the_o ewe_n may_v be_v and_o sometime_o be_v weak_a especial_o when_o with_o young_a or_o as_o the_o word_n will_v also_o bear_v when_o they_o give_v suck_v for_o bear_v and_o give_v of_o suck_n do_v as_o it_o be_v accidental_o much_o weaken_v and_o thus_o christ_n carriage_n be_v sweet_a to_o his_o who_o be_v not_o only_o weak_a habitual_o as_o lamb_n but_o also_o who_o be_v accidental_o weak_a as_o ewe_n that_o give_v suck_v or_o else_o be_v with_o young_a for_o so_o the_o rabbin_n solomon_n jarchi_n and_o david_n kimchi_n with_o other_o our_o late_a expositor_n do_v gloss_n this_o place_n of_o the_o prophet_n now_o for_o the_o better_a proceed_n in_o this_o point_n and_o so_o for_o a_o clear_a discovery_n of_o the_o sweetness_n of_o christ_n carriage_n towards_o his_o weak_a member_n i_o shall_v do_v two_o thing_n 1._o discover_v who_o those_o be_v which_o i_o thus_o call_v accidental_o weak_a 2._o demonstrate_v how_o jesus_n christ_n be_v sweet_a in_o his_o carriage_n towards_o such_o for_o the_o first_o of_o these_o viz._n who_o be_v weak_a beleaver_n accidental_o weak_a who_o be_v accidental_o weak_a beside_o what_o i_o have_v already_o hint_v concern_v such_o i_o shall_v add_v this_o general_a description_n of_o they_o viz._n they_o be_v such_o as_o in_o who_o the_o light_n and_o life_n of_o save_v and_o sanctify_a grace_n be_v in_o some_o good_a degree_n and_o measure_n and_o who_o for_o the_o most_o part_n in_o the_o general_a way_n and_o order_n of_o their_o life_n be_v fit_a and_o able_a both_o to_o undertake_v and_o go_v through_o strong_o and_o successful_o those_o common_a and_o ordinary_a duty_n of_o religion_n in_o which_o christ_n do_v for_o the_o most_o part_n exercise_v his_o member_n so_o as_o that_o you_o may_v rank_n they_o with_o those_o who_o be_v in_o the_o high_a form_n of_o christ_n school_n not_o only_o above_o little_a child_n but_o even_o above_o the_o young_a man_n with_o the_o father_n and_o of_o who_o you_o may_v conceive_v the_o apostle_n speak_v when_o he_o say_v we_o that_o be_v strong_a but_o yet_o notwithstanding_o by_o reason_n of_o some_o occurrence_n in_o their_o christian_a course_n and_o some_o passage_n which_o providence_n do_v as_o it_o be_v by_o accident_n now_o and_o then_o permit_v to_o befall_v they_o they_o be_v much_o debilitate_a and_o weaken_a thereby_o so_o as_o that_o they_o do_v in_o that_o respect_n at_o some_o time_n lie_v and_o groan_v under_o some_o weakness_n but_o because_o it_o be_v too_o large_a a_o field_n to_o go_v out_o into_o if_o i_o shall_v inquire_v after_o all_o the_o several_a sort_n of_o believer_n who_o in_o this_o sense_n at_o some_o season_n or_o upon_o some_o occasion_n be_v weak_a i_o shall_v instance_n only_o in_o three_o particular_a kind_n of_o that_o which_o i_o call_v accidental_a weakness_n and_o show_v how_o christ_n carriage_n be_v sweet_a to_o those_o who_o labour_n under_o such_o weakness_n accident_n a_o threefold_a weakness_n by_o accident_n 1._o there_o be_v weakness_n which_o come_v by_o work_n or_o labour_n 2._o there_o be_v weakness_n which_o câ—mes_v by_o sickness_n or_o fall_n 3._o there_o be_v weakness_n which_o come_v by_o grief_n or_o sorrow_n with_o reference_n to_o this_o threefold_a weakness_n i_o shall_v speak_v of_o christ_n sweet_a carriage_n of_o himself_o unto_o three_o sort_n of_o weak_a believer_n 1._o such_o as_o be_v weak_a by_o reason_n of_o member_n 2._o such_o as_o be_v weak_a by_o reason_n of_o some_o fall_n or_o slip_v into_o sin_n either_o through_o their_o own_o inward_a corruption_n or_o some_o outward_a temptation_n 3._o such_o as_o be_v weak_a by_o reason_n of_o great_a sorrow_n or_o grief_n which_o they_o may_v happy_o take_v because_o of_o some_o suffering_n or_o trial_n whereunto_o christ_n in_o a_o more_o than_o ordinary_a way_n do_v bring_v they_o of_o the_o sweet_a carriage_n of_o jesus_n christ_n to_o each_o of_o these_o i_o shall_v speak_v particular_o and_o by_o themselves_o and_o so_o much_o the_o
