accuse_v he_o for_o ever_o to_o be_v the_o murderer_n of_o their_o soul_n howbeit_o i_o do_v not_o exempt_a child_n from_o all_o blame_n so_o charge_v the_o parent_n as_o though_o the_o child_n be_v like_v in_o themselves_o and_o punish_v in_o they_o their_o own_o corrupt_a precept_n or_o for_o that_o they_o suffer_v injurious_o their_o child_n to_o do_v evil_a unto_o other_o which_o they_o can_v not_o suffer_v they_o to_o do_v unto_o themselves_o or_o untaught_a that_o at_o home_n which_o be_v teach_v abroad_o or_o in_o that_o they_o do_v lie_v in_o some_o sin_n unrepented_a of_o or_o else_o because_o they_o never_o make_v conscience_n to_o bring_v their_o posterity_n within_o the_o covenant_n of_o salvation_n but_o still_o love_v their_o flesh_n in_o their_o child_n &_o not_o their_o law_n and_o commandment_n of_o our_o good_a god_n who_o only_o to_o serve_v be_v perfect_a felicity_n and_o this_o be_v a_o sore_o scare_v the_o other_o be_v sore_o for_o the_o time_n but_o this_o punishment_n if_o it_o come_v it_o shall_v end_v at_o no_o time_n we_o may_v partly_o see_v it_o i_o will_v to_o god_n we_o can_v as_o well_o consider_v of_o it_o and_o even_o yet_o at_o the_o length_n before_o we_o feel_v the_o rod_n as_o do_v the_o brethren_n of_o joseph_n acknowledge_v our_o sin_n before_o the_o lord_n who_o we_o have_v provoke_v to_o wrath_n humble_a ourselves_o and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o that_o affliction_n must_v needs_o come_v let_v we_o yet_o pray_v to_o god_n rather_o to_o lay_v any_o plague_n upon_o we_o than_o the_o famine_n of_o his_o word_n and_o mercy_n he_o do_v not_o mean_a here_o as_o the_o papist_n he_o assure_v himself_o of_o nothing_o of_o desert_n but_o though_o he_o show_v mercy_n unto_o other_o yet_o with_o god_n he_o sue_v for_o mercy_n and_o not_o for_o merit_n if_o then_o he_o have_v fail_v in_o nothing_o he_o will_v not_o merit_n have_v plead_v so_o for_o mercy_n as_o paul_n reason_v in_o the_o four_o to_o the_o roman_n with_o such_o evil_n and_o they_o oppress_v and_o set_v themselves_o both_o against_o his_o cause_n and_o his_o person_n and_o his_o corruption_n be_v great_a he_o pray_v for_o perseverance_n and_o teach_v i_o thy_o statute_n that_o be_v if_o thou_o will_v show_v this_o favour_n upon_o thy_o servant_n so_o it_o be_v if_o not_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n lord_n teach_v i_o the_o true_a understanding_n of_o thy_o word_n we_o crave_v often_o god_n mercy_n and_o help_v but_o we_o think_v not_o that_o his_o mercy_n of_o all_o other_o be_v the_o great_a as_o the_o prophet_n say_v i_o desire_v thy_o favour_n but_o this_o be_v my_o great_a desire_n even_o to_o be_v instruct_v further_o in_o thy_o word_n let_v we_o then_o look_v on_o this_o man_n who_o be_v in_o trouble_n desire_v nothing_o more_o than_o the_o word_n and_o wish_v not_o so_o much_o the_o ease_n of_o the_o flesh_n as_o he_o desire_v to_o be_v deliver_v from_o unbelief_n we_o must_v therefore_o above_o all_o pray_v for_o this_o as_o in_o the_o great_a harvest_n we_o lose_v none_o occasion_n but_o if_o we_o want_v opportunity_n we_o crave_v it_o by_o prayer_n and_o strive_v the_o more_o by_o labour_n to_o say_v deal_v with_o thy_o servant_n he_o do_v not_o here_o boast_v of_o his_o service_n but_o plead_v for_o mercy_n if_o a_o nobleman_n simile_n shall_v take_v we_o as_o vagabond_n and_o rogue_n or_o shall_v rescue_v we_o out_o of_o prison_n when_o we_o have_v any_o suit_n we_o will_v crave_v mercy_n and_o favour_n and_o not_o speak_v of_o our_o service_n here_o be_v no_o presumption_n so_o likewise_o we_o be_v take_v as_o stray_v sheep_n and_o rescue_v from_o the_o prison_n of_o hell_n if_o we_o cry_v lord_n deal_n with_o thy_o servant_n according_a to_o thy_o mercy_n we_o do_v show_v no_o presumption_n but_o plead_v for_o mercy_n and_o say_v see_v thou_o have_v vouchsafe_v lord_n to_o take_v i_o to_o thy_o service_n consider_v with_o what_o enemy_n i_o have_v be_v oppress_v never_o so_o brag_v of_o their_o gift_n of_o knowledge_n and_o faith_n but_o that_o perseverance_n they_o still_o acknowledge_v and_o lament_v in_o themselves_o the_o remnant_n of_o ignorance_n and_o
