it_o be_v report_v that_o if_o it_o see_v a_o man_n before_o it_o be_v see_v of_o he_o the_o man_n die_v and_o so_o of_o the_o contrary_n it_o be_v in_o some_o sort_n true_a of_o affliction_n if_o it_o seize_v upon_o we_o before_o we_o see_v it_o we_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o be_v wound_v by_o it_o but_o if_o we_o look_v for_o it_o afore_o hand_n and_o arm_v ourselves_o against_o it_o we_o shall_v more_o easy_o resist_v it_o and_o those_o affliction_n which_o be_v hard_o unto_o some_o in_o suffering_n will_v prove_v easy_a unto_o we_o by_o foreseeing_a they_o &_o prepare_v for_o they_o therefore_o in_o prosperity_n look_v for_o adversity_n in_o health_n prepare_v for_o sickness_n in_o time_n of_o plenty_n and_o fullness_n bethink_v yourselves_o of_o a_o dearth_n and_o scarcity_n in_o our_o best_a estate_n we_o shall_v learn_v to_o put_v ourselves_o in_o readiness_n to_o suffer_v adversity_n when_o we_o be_v well_o and_o at_o ease_n if_o we_o be_v wise_a we_o will_v look_v for_o worse_a time_n keep_v such_o a_o watch_n that_o in_o plenty_n we_o may_v think_v of_o want_n and_o in_o prosperity_n foresee_v some_o misery_n we_o must_v not_o think_v always_o to_o rest_n in_o our_o nest_n always_o to_o enjoy_v outward_a comfort_n and_o know_v no_o cross_n but_o think_v sometime_o to_o receive_v frown_n and_o stripe_n as_o well_o as_o smile_n and_o kiss_n from_o the_o lord_n especial_o when_o our_o sin_n offer_v continual_a occasion_n to_o the_o lord_n to_o exercise_v we_o with_o some_o punishment_n he_o have_v rod_n enough_o in_o store_n to_o beat_v we_o for_o and_o from_o our_o sin_n therefore_o let_v we_o look_v daily_o to_o be_v assault_v daily_o to_o be_v humble_v and_o cast_v down_o that_o so_o we_o may_v be_v the_o better_o prepare_v and_o also_o the_o more_o willing_a to_o suffer_v affliction_n to_o partake_v of_o adversity_n thereby_o to_o glorify_v god_n then_o to_o sleep_v in_o a_o whole_a skin_n to_o live_v in_o ease_n and_o prosperity_n to_o our_o own_o woe_n and_o shame_n force_v thyself_o daily_o to_o mind_n trial_n and_o betake_v thyself_o to_o some_o serious_a thought_n of_o change_n even_o when_o prosperity_n and_o ease_n will_v most_o divorce_v thou_o from_o the_o remembrance_n thereof_o if_o people_n will_v be_v thus_o wise_a they_o shall_v quit_v themselves_o better_a than_o they_o do_v in_o time_n of_o affliction_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o many_o of_o god_n child_n do_v undergo_v their_o affliction_n so_o cheerful_o above_o other_o they_o can_v say_v i_o thank_v god_n it_o be_v no_o other_o than_o i_o have_v wait_v for_o i_o have_v a_o long_a time_n look_v for_o this_o or_o some_o other_o trial_n and_o thus_o they_o be_v able_a with_o more_o alacrity_n and_o chearfulnesse_n to_o bear_v their_o affliction_n whereas_o such_o as_o can_v not_o endure_v to_o hear_v of_o these_o thing_n be_v even_o dismay_v by_o they_o and_o at_o their_o wit_n end_n oh_o what_o shall_v they_o do_v whither_o shall_v they_o go_v they_o scarce_o know_v which_o way_n to_o wind_v themselves_o or_o where_o to_o fetch_v a_o thought_n that_o may_v administer_v any_o sound_a comfort_n unto_o they_o therefore_o make_v account_n soon_o or_o late_a to_o meet_v with_o the_o cross_n if_o thou_o belong_v unto_o the_o lord_n or_o make_v account_v to_o come_v at_o heaven_n we_o must_v not_o look_v to_o go_v to_o have_v no_o more_o rather_o less_a liberty_n and_o privilege_n to_o sin_n then_o the_o wicked_a yet_o there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n in_o their_o affliction_n for_o though_o all_o thing_n fall_v alike_o to_o both_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o evil_n themselves_o as_o the_o child_n of_o god_n may_v perish_v through_o famine_n fall_v by_o the_o sword_n die_v of_o the_o pestilence_n etc._n etc._n yet_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o effect_n and_o end_n of_o these_o outward_a evil_n there_o be_v great_a difference_n betwixt_o they_o for_o their_o nature_n be_v much_o alter_v and_o there_o be_v as_o much_o difference_n betwixt_o the_o affliction_n of_o the_o godly_a and_o the_o wicked_a as_o be_v betwixt_o poison_n correct_v and_o rectify_v by_o the_o art_n and_o skill_n of_o the_o physician_n that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v medicinable_a and_o wholesome_a and_o that_o poison_n which_o remain_v in_o its_o natural_a temper_n the_o lord_n in_o afflict_v his_o child_n do_v it_o with_o a_o fatherlike_o heart_n and_o hand_n in_o mildness_n and_o mercy_n to_o amend_v and_o better_o they_o whereas_o he_o correct_v the_o wicked_a with_o the_o rod_n of_o his_o wtath_n in_o nor_o yet_o amend_v on_o the_o suden_n what_o we_o find_v amiss_o in_o we_o we_o have_v need_v to_o exercise_v our_o faith_n in_o prayer_n &_o in_o patience_n to_o wait_v for_o the_o accomplish_n of_o that_o good_a the_o lord_n intend_v we_o by_o afflict_v we_o for_o as_o god_n prescribe_v the_o physic_n so_o he_o must_v cause_v it_o to_o work_v &_o bless_v it_o unto_o we_o we_o of_o ourselves_o be_v like_a child_n who_o be_v take_v in_o some_o fault_n and_o feel_v the_o smart_n of_o the_o rod_n be_v ready_a to_o promise_v amendment_n but_o present_o forget_v both_o the_o fault_n the_o
