under_o the_o law_n that_o he_o may_v redeem_v they_o which_o be_v in_o bondage_n under_o the_o law_n &_o of_o servile_a bondman_n make_v they_o free_a son_n even_o the_o child_n of_o god_n furthermore_o if_o grief_n and_o heaviness_n come_v upon_o he_o he_o be_v here_o teach_v where_o true_a joy_n may_v be_v have_v even_o in_o christ_n jesus_n alone_o that_o in_o he_o only_o he_o may_v find_v sure_a comfort_n sovereign_a medicine_n present_a remedy_n true_a joy_n of_o heart_n and_o quietness_n of_o conscience_n final_o whereas_o we_o be_v synnefull_a and_o have_v by_o our_o sin_n this_o office_n wherein_o god_n have_v place_v i_o and_o the_o word_n command_v he_o that_o bear_v rule_v to_o be_v careful_a it_o be_v meet_v that_o i_o do_v execute_v the_o same_o with_o all_o faithfulness_n and_o diligence_n to_o the_o praise_n and_o glory_n of_o my_o god_n the_o execution_n of_o the_o office_n of_o such_o a_o ruler_n endue_v with_o such_o a_o mind_n come_v out_o of_o a_o pure_a and_o sincere_a hart_n wherewith_o both_o god_n and_o good_a man_n be_v delight_v there_o be_v moreover_o in_o he_o love_n which_o do_v not_o cleave_v to_o the_o person_n or_o outward_a thing_n as_o understand_v or_o think_v any_o thing_n thereof_o or_o how_o love_n be_v to_o be_v derive_v to_o all_o state_n and_o condition_n of_o man_n according_a to_o the_o word_n of_o god_n thus_o must_v thou_o say_v moreover_o even_o in_o spiritual_a office_n &_o state_n also_o if_o i_o or_o any_o other_o shall_v preach_v to_o get_v some_o good_a benefice_n whereas_o otherwise_o i_o will_v easy_o cease_v from_o do_v this_o office_n i_o may_v preach_v the_o gospel_n but_o my_o hart_n be_v not_o pure_a but_o most_o plain_o pollute_v therefore_o although_o i_o do_v long_o and_o much_o affirm_v therefore_o shall_v by_o faith_n aspire_v to_o the_o state_n of_o son_n notwithstanding_o they_o go_v so_o far_o that_o they_o seek_v to_o satisfy_v and_o fulfil_v it_o by_o their_o own_o work_n only_o and_o thereby_o they_o do_v altogether_o hinder_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n and_o strive_v against_o faith_n and_o grace_n whereunto_o if_o they_o be_v not_o blind_a the_o law_n will_v direct_v and_o drive_v they_o and_o so_o they_o continue_v always_o a_o blind_a blockish_a and_o miserable_a people_n these_o thing_n paul_n teach_v rom._n 3_o and_o 7._o and_o do_v free_o pronounce_v that_o no_o man_n be_v justify_v before_o god_n by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o law_n law_n no_o man_n be_v justify_v by_o the_o law_n add_v no_o other_o cause_n hereof_o than_o this_o for_o that_o the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n only_o come_v by_o the_o law_n if_o thou_o will_v know_v how_o this_o come_v to_o pass_v consider_v well_o some_o one_o of_o cain_n brood_n and_o thou_o shall_v by_o and_o by_o see_v it_o verify_v first_o he_o work_v his_o work_n according_a to_o the_o law_n with_o great_a grief_n and_o labour_n and_o yet_o he_o therewith_o confess_v that_o he_o be_v uncertain_a whether_o that_o they_o do_v rather_o hate_v the_o law_n from_o their_o hart_n and_o have_v lever_n that_o there_o be_v no_o law_n at_o all_o wherefore_o it_o be_v plain_o manifest_a that_o they_o be_v not_o good_a and_o consequent_o that_o neither_o their_o work_n be_v good_a for_o how_o shall_v evil_a man_n work_v good_a work_n moreover_o those_o their_o work_n which_o in_o appearance_n &_o show_n seem_v to_o be_v good_a be_v either_o wrest_v from_o they_o by_o fear_n or_o be_v buy_v with_o promise_n a_o evil_a hart_n can_v do_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a but_o this_o naughtiness_n of_o the_o hart_n &_o unwillingnes_n to_o do_v good_a the_o law_n bewray_v when_o it_o teach_v that_o god_n do_v not_o great_o esteem_v what_o the_o hand_n do_v but_o what_o the_o hart_n do_v which_o see_v it_o 9_o this_o offence_n come_v because_o of_o our_o faith_n and_o can_v not_o be_v avoid_v of_o we_o and_o therefore_o the_o blame_n thereof_o ought_v not_o to_o be_v lay_v upon_o us._n howbeit_o there_o be_v a_o other_o offence_n which_o proceed_v hereof_o for_o that_o our_o love_n be_v not_o sufficient_a dutiful_a this_o come_v through_o we_o inasmuch_o as_o our_o work_n be_v the_o cause_n thereof_o of_o god_n consist_v in_o these_o in_o many_o affliction_n in_o necessity_n in_o distress_n in_o stripe_n in_o prison_n in_o tumult_n in_o watch_n in_o fasting_n etc._n etc._n among_o these_o he_o number_v not_o mass_n and_o prayer_n for_o the_o dead_a or_o other_o trifle_n of_o feign_a worship_n of_o god_n he_o rehearse_v those_o thing_n that_o pertain_v to_o the_o true_a and_o right_a service_n of_o god_n whereby_o the_o body_n be_v chastise_v and_o the_o flesh_n tame_v which_o be_v well_o to_o be_v note_v lest_o that_o any_o neglect_v fasting_n watch_n and_o labour_n and_o make_v we_o count_v of_o they_o for_o that_o they_o do_v not_o justify_v they_o bring_v not_o righteousness_n in_o deed_n yet_o be_v they_o fruit_n of_o righteousness_n be_v obtain_v wherein_o thou_o may_v be_v exercise_v and_o whereby_o thou_o may_v keep_v thy_o flesh_n in_o subjection_n and_o enforce_v it_o to_o do_v his_o duty_n in_o tumult_n he_o rehearse_v tumult_n or_o sedition_n among_o the_o rest_n not_o that_o it_o become_v we_o to_o teach_v or_o move_v they_o who_o ought_v to_o obey_v magistrate_n and_o with_o quietness_n to_o live_v obedient_a unto_o all_o in_o that_o which_o be_v tumult_n be_v common_o impute_v unto_o we_o for_o that_o this_o be_v incident_a to_o a_o christian_a life_n that_o for_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o gospel_n it_o be_v accuse_v to_o raise_v sedition_n which_o it_o rather_o suffer_v be_v raise_v of_o other_o against_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o as_o in_o time_n past_o achab_n accuse_v the_o most_o holy_a prophet_n elias_n of_o sedition_n affirm_v that_o it_o be_v he_o that_o trouble_a israel_n when_o as_o he_o himself_o in_o deed_n do_v trouble_v it_o so_o be_v it_o neither_o a_o shameful_a nor_o new_a thing_n for_o we_o to_o be_v accuse_v abide_v adversity_n and_o trouble_n â–ª_o but_o he_o special_o reprove_v our_o delicate_a one_o which_o quiet_o enjoy_v revenue_n and_o rent_n and_o take_v their_o delight_n and_o pleasure_n think_v that_o it_o be_v a_o unworthy_a thing_n that_o they_o shall_v labour_v for_o they_o be_v shave_v wear_v long_a gown_n and_o cry_v out_o in_o temple_n etc._n etc._n howbeit_o these_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o approve_v themselves_o before_o god_n bread_n god_n will_v have_v none_o to_o be_v idle_a but_o also_o labour_n and_o so_o eat_v their_o own_o bread_n who_o will_v have_v all_o to_o labour_n and_o eat_v their_o own_o and_o not_o other_o man_n bread_n as_o it_o be_v write_v by_o paul_n to_o the_o thessalonians_n who_o therefore_o teach_v here_o also_o that_o god_n be_v serve_v by_o labour_n and_o not_o that_o only_a but_o that_o we_o also_o be_v thereby_o prove_v and_o commend_v to_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o god_n in_o knowledge_n paul_n take_v knowledge_n here_o for_o that_o which_o we_o call_v prudence_n or_o wisdom_n whereby_o we_o use_v thing_n with_o reason_n behave_v ourselves_o with_o discretion_n and_o comeliness_n of_o which_o knowledge_n the_o say_v also_o it_o prudent_o in_o all_o thing_n keep_v a_o mean_a and_o have_v a_o advise_v rehard_v of_o our_o neighbour_n lest_o that_o in_o any_o thing_n we_o offend_v the_o weak_a sort_n with_o unseasonable_a but_o this_o tentation_n do_v not_o easy_o happen_v in_o these_o outward_a thing_n as_o be_v bread_n apparel_n house_n etc._n etc._n thou_o may_v find_v in_o deed_n some_o rash_a head_n which_o for_o no_o cause_n do_v put_v their_o life_n good_n good_a name_n in_o great_a danger_n as_o they_o do_v which_o go_v on_o warfare_n of_o their_o own_o accord_n which_o leap_n rash_o into_o most_o deep_a water_n or_o go_v voluntary_o into_o other_o no_o small_a danger_n of_o who_o jesus_n the_o son_n of_o syrach_n say_v 3.27_o eccle._n 3.27_o he_o that_o love_v peril_n shall_v perish_v in_o it_o god_n by_o not_o take_v the_o use_n of_o outward_a thing_n which_o he_o have_v give_v us._n but_o he_o shall_v be_v hardly_o find_v which_o have_v a_o false_a and_o overmuch_o confidence_n in_o god_n attempt_v any_o such_o thing_n or_o use_v not_o the_o thing_n present_a as_o bread_n apparel_n house_n and_o such_o like_a look_v with_o peril_n while_o god_n provide_v otherwise_o for_o he_o by_o miracle_n we_o read_v of_o a_o certain_a eremite_n who_o because_o he_o have_v vow_v to_o take_v bread_n of_o no_o man_n bring_v himself_o into_o peril_n by_o hunger_n and_o so_o perish_v and_o undouted_o go_v straight_o unto_o hell_n because_o of_o that_o false_a faith_n and_o tempt_a of_o god_n which_o he_o learn_v no_o other_o where_o but_o of_o that_o devil_n so_o that_o his_o madness_n plenty_n howsoever_o god_n deal_v with_o we_o we_o be_v not_o content_a our_o incredulity_n be_v a_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o malice_n and_o ungodliness_n again_o the_o devil_n take_v he_o up_o into_o a_o exceed_a high_a mountain_n world_n tentation_n by_o vain_a glory_n pleasure_n and_o delight_n of_o the_o world_n here_o he_o tempt_v with_o vain_a glory_n &_o power_n of_o the_o world_n as_o by_o the_o word_n of_o the_o devil_n do_v plain_o appear_v who_o show_v christ_n the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n offer_v they_o to_o he_o if_o he_o will_v worship_v he_o by_o this_o tentation_n they_o be_v overcome_v which_o revolt_n from_o faith_n that_o they_o may_v enjoy_v glory_n and_o power_n here_o or_o at_o least_o do_v so_o temper_v their_o faith_n that_o they_o lose_v not_o these_o thing_n in_o the_o number_n of_o these_o be_v all_o heretic_n and_o troubler_n of_o the_o church_n which_o do_v therefore_o either_o leave_v or_o oppugn_v the_o sincerity_n of_o faith_n that_o be_v exempt_v out_o of_o the_o common_a number_n they_o may_v be_v extol_v on_o high_a so_o we_o may_v place_v this_o tentation_n on_o the_o right_a hand_n as_o the_o first_o assail_v we_o on_o the_o left_a for_o as_o the_o first_o tentation_n be_v of_o adversity_n whereby_o we_o be_v move_v to_o indignation_n impatiency_n &_o diffidence_n so_o this_o three_o tentation_n be_v of_o prosperity_n whereby_o we_o call_v the_o child_n of_o disobedience_n and_o therefore_o can_v not_o abide_v to_o believe_v the_o word_n of_o god_n &_o to_o give_v themselves_o to_o the_o obedience_n of_o faith_n this_o paul_n declare_v 1._o cor._n 10._o by_o many_o example_n where_o he_o say_v that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o people_n be_v slay_v for_o fornication_n of_o which_o deed_n be_v speak_v also_o num._n 25._o
