otherman_n because_o he_o have_v the_o spirit_n and_o it_o be_v say_v oâ—_n john_n the_o baptist_n that_o he_o come_v in_o the_o spirit_n of_o eliah_n that_o be_v he_o have_v the_o same_o spirit_n that_o eliah_n have_v and_o therefore_o he_o have_v the_o great_a efficacy_n if_o john_n have_v not_o have_v this_o spirit_n he_o have_v be_v but_o as_o other_o man_n therefore_o whatsoever_o you_o do_v labour_n above_o all_o thing_n to_o get_v the_o spirit_n nothing_o will_v strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n except_o you_o have_v the_o spirit_n it_o be_v the_o spirit_n that_o make_v the_o inward_a man_n to_o grow_v strong_a and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o mean_n for_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o for_o this_o point_n now_o we_o proceed_v the_o next_o thing_n to_o be_v consider_v be_v the_o mean_n which_o the_o apostle_n lay_v down_o whereby_o they_o may_v be_v strengthen_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n be_v to_o have_v the_o spirit_n that_o he_o will_v grant_v you_o etc._n etc._n that_o you_o may_v be_v strengthen_v by_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n that_o be_v if_o you_o will_v knowwhat_o will_v strengthen_v you_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n hence_o note_v this_o point_n that_o whatsoever_o save_v or_o sanctify_v grace_n or_o strength_n of_o grace_n any_o man_n have_v it_o all_o proceed_v from_o the_o sanctify_a spirit_n i_o doctr._n say_v all_o save_a grace_n all_o strength_n of_o grace_n come_v from_o the_o spirit_n yet_o do_v not_o mistake_v i_o as_o if_o i_o do_v exclude_v the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n for_o they_o work_v neither_o do_v the_o spirit_n work_v without_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n for_o what_o one_o do_v all_o do_v but_o i_o ascribe_v the_o work_n of_o sanctification_n unto_o the_o spirit_n because_o it_o be_v the_o proper_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n to_o sanctify_v and_o he_o be_v the_o strengthener_n of_o all_o grace_n that_o be_v all_o grace_n come_v from_o the_o father_n as_o the_o first_o cause_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o then_o through_o christ_n by_o the_o spirit_n grace_n be_v wrought_v in_o the_o soul_n therefore_o those_o 3._o distinction_n of_o the_o trinity_n be_v good_a the_o father_n be_v of_o himself_o alone_o the_o son_n be_v of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v of_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n that_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n proceed_v from_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n and_o be_v send_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o child_n to_o work_v grace_n and_o holiness_n in_o they_o and_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v so_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n be_v the_o only_a worker_n and_o strengthener_n of_o grace_n because_o proceed_v from_o such_o a_o holy_a fountain_n as_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n be_v the_o fruit_n must_v needs_o be_v holy_a and_o the_o way_n to_o get_v sanctification_n and_o holiness_n be_v to_o get_v the_o holy_a spirit_n now_o in_o that_o that_o be_v send_v to_o sanctify_v two_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v require_v first_o he_o that_o be_v send_v to_o sanctify_v must_v proceed_v from_o a_o 1._o holy_a fountain_n but_o the_o spirit_n do_v proceed_v from_o a_o most_o holy_a fountain_n and_o pure_a which_o be_v god_n therefore_o it_o can_v choose_v but_o be_v a_o holy_a work_n that_o he_o work_v the_o second_o thing_n that_o be_v require_v in_o he_o that_o be_v send_v to_o 2._o sanctify_v be_v this_o that_o he_o subsist_v in_o sanctification_n that_o be_v that_o he_o depend_v not_o upon_o another_o for_o sanctification_n but_o that_o he_o be_v able_a to_o sanctify_v of_o himself_o now_o this_o be_v the_o excellency_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n he_o be_v sanctification_n and_o holiness_n itself_o that_o be_v subsist_v in_o sanctification_n and_o abound_v in_o holiness_n and_o therefore_o able_a to_o strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n but_o that_o you_o may_v more_o full_o understand_v this_o point_n i_o will_v show_v you_o how_o the_o spirit_n strengthen_v the_o inward_a man_n work_v holiness_n and_o sanctification_n and_o this_o will_v appear_v in_o four_o thing_n especial_o the_o first_o way_n how_o the_o spirit_n strengthen_v grace_n in_o the_o wor_n the_o soul_n be_v this_o by_o give_v unto_o the_o soul_n a_o effectual_a operative_a and_o digestive_a faculty_n that_o be_v by_o rear_v the_o inward_a man_n in_o the_o soul_n and_o set_v up_o the_o build_n of_o grace_n and_o this_o he_o do_v by_o shed_v abroad_o in_o the_o heart_n the_o bless_a effect_n of_o grace_n into_o every_o faculty_n even_o as_o the_o blood_n be_v in_o use_v into_o every_o vain_a or_o as_o the_o soul_n go_v through_o every_o part_n of_o the_o body_n and_o so_o give_v life_n unto_o it_o so_o do_v the_o spirit_n go_v through_o all_o the_o part_n of_o the_o soul_n by_o infuse_v spiritual_a life_n and_o power_n into_o they_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n call_v it_o in_o the_o ephes_n 4._o his_o effectual_a power_n that_o be_v 4._o he_o have_v such_o efficacy_n in_o work_v that_o he_o infuse_v spiritual_a life_n into_o the_o soul._n the_o second_o way_n how_o the_o spirit_n strengthen_v grace_n be_v this_o wor._n when_o he_o have_v set_v up_o the_o building_n and_o sweep_v every_o corner_n of_o the_o soul_n then_o he_o enable_v the_o soul_n to_o do_v more_o than_o it_o can_v do_v by_o nature_n that_o be_v by_o put_v new_a habit_n and_o quality_n into_o the_o soul_n as_o first_o when_o a_o man_n can_v do_v no_o more_o than_o a_o natural_a man_n can_v do_v by_o nature_n than_o the_o spirit_n fortify_v and_o enable_v the_o soul_n to_o act_v holy_o and_o spiritual_o as_o for_o example_n any_o hand_n can_v cut_v with_o a_o cheesil_n or_o the_o like_a instrument_n but_o if_o he_o can_v by_o it_o make_v a_o picture_n this_o be_v a_o work_n above_o nature_n no_o man_n can_v do_v it_o unless_o he_o have_v art_n and_o time_n about_o it_o so_o when_o the_o spirit_n come_v into_o the_o heart_n than_o it_o make_v a_o man_n to_o do_v more_o than_o he_o can_v natural_o do_v water_n you_o know_v of_o itself_o be_v cold_a but_o if_o you_o will_v have_v it_o of_o another_o quality_n than_o you_o must_v put_v a_o quality_n of_o fire_n in_o it_o so_o the_o soul_n be_v dead_a and_o cold_a by_o nature_n but_o if_o a_o quality_n of_o the_o fire_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v add_v unto_o it_o than_o it_o will_v be_v able_a to_o do_v more_o than_o it_o natural_o can_v do_v therefore_o examine_v what_o new_a habit_n and_o quality_n be_v in_o you_o that_o be_v whether_o you_o have_v new_a habit_n of_o patience_n love_n hope_v experience_n that_o be_v as_o patience_n beget_v experience_n and_o experience_n hope_v so_o where_o the_o spirit_n be_v it_o do_v beget_v new_a habit_n and_o quality_n in_o the_o soul_n by_o which_o it_o be_v able_a to_o do_v more_o then_o natural_o it_o can_v do_v as_o i_o say_v it_o first_o build_v the_o house_n and_o sweep_v the_o room_n and_o then_o it_o fill_v and_o furnish_v the_o room_n with_o new_a habit_n and_o quality_n of_o grace_n the_o three_o way_n how_o the_o spirit_n strengthen_v grace_n be_v this_o when_o it_o have_v give_v we_o new_a habit_n than_o it_o enable_v wor._n and_o help_v we_o to_o use_v those_o habit_n to_o good_a when_o we_o have_v they_o for_o herein_o appear_v the_o power_n and_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o spirit_n not_o only_o to_o give_v spiritual_a life_n and_o strength_n but_o also_o to_o enable_v we_o to_o the_o use_n of_o that_o strength_n for_o the_o strengthen_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n there_o may_v be_v quality_n and_o habit_n in_o the_o soul_n and_o yet_o want_v of_o power_n to_o use_v they_o as_o for_o example_n a_o man_n that_o be_v asleep_a he_o have_v habit_n and_o quality_n but_o he_o want_v power_n to_o use_v they_o so_o it_o be_v with_o those_o that_o be_v not_o strengthen_v in_o the_o inward_a man_n but_o he_o that_o have_v the_o spirit_n have_v power_n withal_o to_o use_v those_o habit_n to_o good_a therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o they_o speak_v as_o the_o spirit_n give_v they_o utterance_n that_o be_v they_o have_v power_n from_o the_o spirit_n to_o speak_v to_o do_v and_o use_v those_o habit_n that_o be_v in_o they_o
way_n of_o god_n it_o be_v one_o thing_n to_o approve_v the_o way_n of_o god_n and_o another_o thing_n to_o delight_n in_o they_o other_o man_n that_o be_v but_o civil_a man_n may_v approve_v the_o way_n of_o god_n but_o they_o can_v delight_v in_o they_o this_o be_v more_o than_o a_o natural_a man_n can_v reach_v unto_o if_o therefore_o thou_o find_v this_o in_o thou_o be_v assure_v the_o strength_n of_o grace_n be_v there_o so_o to_o love_n god_n we_o find_v that_o peculiar_a to_o the_o saint_n that_o be_v more_o than_o any_o hypocrite_n in_o the_o world_n can_v do_v if_o any_o man_n therefore_o find_v that_o grace_n so_o strong_a in_o he_o that_o it_o make_v his_o heart_n cleave_v to_o the_o lord_n whole_o and_o long_o after_o he_o that_o he_o love_v he_o and_o seek_v his_o face_n that_o he_o love_v he_o not_o for_o other_o respect_n but_o behold_v he_o in_o his_o person_n in_o his_o attribute_n and_o in_o all_o his_o excellency_n he_o can_v love_v he_o above_o all_o thing_n this_o no_o man_n by_o nature_n can_v attain_v to_o and_o so_o to_o hate_v sin_n no_o man_n by_o nature_n can_v hate_v sin_n but_o by_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n for_o all_o hatred_n arise_v from_o contrary_a and_o only_a grace_n be_v contrary_a to_o sin_n it_o be_v grace_n that_o make_v a_o man_n a_o sin_n hater_n it_o be_v possible_a for_o another_o man_n sometime_o to_o fall_v out_o with_o sin_n and_o to_o abstain_v from_o some_o particular_a act_n of_o sin_n but_o to_o hate_v sin_n no_o man_n can_v do_v it_o natural_o for_o there_o be_v no_o man_n that_o hate_v any_o thing_n but_o he_o hate_v the_o whole_a kind_n thereof_o as_o the_o sheep_n hate_v the_o wolf_n therefore_o it_o hate_v every_o wolf_n and_o again_o hatred_n we_o know_v be_v implacable_a when_o a_o man_n be_v angry_a he_o be_v reconcile_v again_o sometime_o but_o when_o a_o man_n hate_v a_o thing_n he_o will_v have_v it_o quite_o take_v away_o now_o no_o man_n be_v able_a to_o do_v this_o but_o by_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n to_o hate_v all_o sin_n every_o where_o in_o himself_o as_o well_o as_o in_o other_o to_o hate_v it_o so_o as_o to_o desire_v to_o have_v it_o utter_o destroy_v and_o to_o be_v implacable_o out_o with_o it_o so_o as_o never_o again_o to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o it_o this_o be_v the_o property_n of_o grace_n this_o thou_o have_v that_o thou_o hate_v the_o work_n of_o the_o nicholaitan_n we_o be_v deceive_v in_o that_o when_o we_o think_v we_o hate_v sin_n because_o we_o abstain_v from_o some_o act_n of_o sin_n if_o thou_o do_v hate_v it_o thou_o will_v hate_v it_o every_o where_o and_o every_o kind_n of_o sin_n thou_o will_v not_o only_o fall_v out_o with_o it_o when_o it_o do_v thou_o a_o shrewd_a turn_n but_o thou_o will_v be_v out_o with_o it_o for_o ever_o when_o a_o man_n find_v that_o he_o can_v hate_v sin_n that_o he_o can_v love_v god_n and_o delight_n in_o his_o commandment_n and_o love_v the_o saint_n etc._n etc._n these_o be_v thing_n that_o no_o man_n can_v do_v by_o nature_n therefore_o if_o thou_o find_v these_o thing_n there_o be_v more_o in_o thou_o then_o nature_n herein_o be_v the_o strength_n of_o grace_n see_v now_o it_o be_v true_a there_o be_v other_o thing_n which_o a_o man_n may_v do_v which_o have_v not_o this_o save_a grace_n but_o grace_n have_v this_o efficacy_n that_o it_o make_v thou_o do_v more_o than_o any_o man_n will_v or_o can_v do_v by_o common_a nature_n as_o for_o example_n wheresoever_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v it_o make_v a_o man_n deny_v himself_o whereas_o another_o man_n will_v not_o it_o will_v make_v a_o man_n refuse_v gain_v and_o profit_n and_o advantage_n to_o himself_o when_o another_o man_n will_v not_o it_o make_v a_o man_n able_a to_o forgive_v his_o enemy_n which_o before_o he_o can_v not_o do_v but_o you_o will_v say_v other_o man_n may_v do_v this_o that_o have_v no_o grace_n but_o they_o never_o do_v it_o in_o sincerity_n here_o be_v the_o difference_n grace_n make_v a_o man_n do_v it_o ordinary_o in_o his_o common_a course_n another_o man_n may_v have_v some_o fit_n in_o these_o thing_n but_o to_o do_v it_o when_o a_o man_n be_v himself_o to_o do_v it_o upon_o deliberation_n this_o be_v the_o strength_n of_o grace_n therefore_o you_o may_v try_v yourselves_o by_o that_o be_o i_o able_a to_o do_v more_o than_o common_a nature_n can_v do_v if_o thou_o can_v not_o be_v sure_a that_o grace_n be_v not_o there_o for_o be_v there_o not_o a_o efficacy_n and_o power_n in_o grace_n and_o why_o shall_v we_o say_v there_o be_v a_o power_n in_o it_o if_o we_o see_v not_o the_o effect_n of_o that_o power_n if_o thou_o do_v no_o more_o than_o another_o man_n can_v do_v thou_o give_v just_a cause_n to_o those_o that_o be_v atheist_n to_o think_v that_o this_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v but_o a_o mere_a notion_n but_o a_o fancy_n be_v it_o think_v thou_o for_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n that_o thou_o shall_v be_v reckon_v a_o man_n within_o the_o covenant_n and_o to_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o have_v grace_n wrought_v in_o thy_o heart_n and_o have_v no_o power_n of_o grace_n in_o thy_o life_n therefore_o examine_v thyself_o by_o that_o can_v thou_o do_v more_o than_o a_o man_n can_v do_v by_o the_o strength_n of_o natural_a ability_n or_o by_o the_o accession_n of_o moral_a virtue_n or_o good_a education_n or_o humane_a wisdom_n &_o c_o this_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n wherein_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v see_v i_o name_v three_o to_o you_o we_o tell_v you_o one_o be_v that_o it_o heal_v corrupt_a nature_n and_o raise_v common_a nature_n above_o its_o own_o sphere_n now_o second_o that_o whereby_o you_o may_v examine_v whether_o obedience_n you_o have_v this_o property_n of_o grace_n whether_o you_o have_v this_o strength_n of_o grace_n in_o you_o or_o no_o it_o be_v this_o consider_v what_o you_o be_v able_a to_o do_v in_o the_o act_n of_o new_a obedience_n the_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v see_v that_o it_o enable_v you_o to_o do_v they_o when_o another_o man_n can_v do_v they_o in_o the_o first_o we_o have_v to_o do_v with_o the_o nature_n and_o then_o i_o tell_v you_o that_o grace_n heal_v corrupt_a nature_n and_o put_v more_o into_o you_o then_o common_a nature_n this_o second_o thing_n be_v distinct_a from_o that_o and_o be_v see_v in_o the_o action_n and_o the_o three_o be_v see_v in_o the_o intentention_n in_o these_o three_o the_o strength_n of_o grace_n be_v see_v there_o be_v scarce_o any_o man_n but_o have_v some_o good_a intention_n some_o good_a purpose_n but_o when_o they_o come_v to_o the_o birth_n there_o be_v no_o strength_n to_o bring_v forth_o man_n be_v not_o able_a to_o perform_v they_o now_o grace_n wheresoever_o it_o be_v have_v so_o much_o strength_n as_o not_o only_o to_o beget_v good_a motion_n but_o it_o be_v powerful_a and_o effectual_a to_o bring_v they_o forth_o into_o act_n grace_n be_v a_o effectual_a midwife_n to_o bring_v purpose_n and_o conception_n to_o performance_n enable_v we_o to_o do_v they_o therefore_o by_o that_o you_o may_v try_v it_o whether_o grace_n strengthen_v you_o to_o performance_n and_o practice_n that_o which_o you_o purpose_v and_o desire_v to_o do_v it_o be_v observe_v that_o your_o fennish_a and_o rot_a ground_n sudden_o shoot_v out_o a_o broad_a blade_n of_o grass_n but_o we_o know_v it_o be_v unprofitable_a to_o any_o man_n whereas_o good_a ground_n that_o bring_v forth_o good_a grass_n bring_v it_o not_o forth_o so_o sudden_o nor_o so_o broad_a so_o those_o that_o have_v unsoundness_n of_o heart_n they_o may_v go_v so_o far_o as_o to_o have_v some_o sudden_a good_a purpose_n and_o desire_n and_o motion_n and_o conception_n but_o yâ—t_o they_o come_v to_o nothing_o they_o be_v but_o foggy_a purpose_n as_o it_o wâ—re_v they_o do_v not_o last_v they_o vanish_v away_o and_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n of_o that_o they_o want_v true_a root_n they_o want_v this_o grace_n that_o shall_v strengthen_v they_o and_o make_v the_o soil_n good_a there_o want_v that_o depth_n of_o earth_n that_o be_v there_o want_v that_o depth_n of_o sincerity_n and_o there_o want_v that_o sound_n and_o convince_a knowledge_n to_o carry_v they_o through_o all_o objection_n and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n that_o man_n have_v good_a desire_n and_o yet_o so_o little_a performance_n let_v his_o desire_n be_v never_o so_o good_a when_o he_o meet_v with_o strong_a reason_n and_o argument_n from_o the_o flesh_n or_o the_o world_n or_o the_o devil_n he_o give_v over_o because_o he_o have_v no_o strength_n to_o answer_v they_o so_o that_o when_o we_o come_v to_o perform_v our_o desire_n it_o be_v grace_n that_o must_v give_v
we_o strength_n when_o we_o have_v not_o that_o we_o give_v over_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n therefore_o be_v always_o see_v in_o that_o it_o enable_v we_o to_o go_v through_o the_o work_n to_o perform_v it_o therefore_o the_o world_n be_v exceed_o deceive_v in_o the_o misapplication_n of_o that_o distinction_n the_o lord_n accept_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n i_o say_v the_o misapplication_n of_o that_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o there_o be_v so_o much_o laziness_n and_o dulness_n in_o man_n that_o they_o do_v not_o set_v themselves_o to_o go_v through_o with_o holy_a duty_n for_o say_v they_o we_o have_v a_o desire_n and_o a_o purpose_n and_o the_o lord_n accept_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n you_o be_v exceed_o deceive_v the_o lord_n indeed_o will_v accept_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n when_o there_o be_v such_o a_o impediment_n as_o that_o you_o can_v proceed_v for_o what_o be_v the_o occasion_n of_o that_o speech_n of_o the_o apostle_n to_o the_o corinthian_n when_o they_o have_v liberal_a mind_n to_o supply_v the_o necessity_n of_o the_o church_n and_o yet_o they_o want_v money_n in_o this_o case_n say_v the_o apostle_n the_o lord_n accept_v the_o will_n for_o the_o deed_n will_v thou_o say_v now_o therefore_o because_o thou_o have_v a_o good_a desire_n to_o serve_v god_n to_o pray_v to_o keep_v to_o god_n truth_n to_o keep_v thy_o heart_n close_o to_o he_o and_o thou_o hope_v the_o lord_n will_v take_v the_o desire_n for_o the_o deed_n and_o yet_o thou_o will_v be_v negligent_a in_o they_o what_o impediment_n have_v thou_o if_o though_o a_o man_n be_v sometime_o transport_v through_o the_o violence_n of_o corruption_n and_o passion_n and_o the_o like_a yet_o grace_n bring_v he_o back_o again_o that_o be_v he_o be_v not_o quite_o carry_v away_o with_o temptation_n as_o the_o chaff_n with_o the_o wind_n but_o he_o be_v hold_v with_o a_o strong_a anchor_n that_o though_o he_o float_v up_o and_o down_o and_o be_v off_o in_o keep_v we_o from_o faint_a so_o it_o be_v see_v in_o the_o particular_a thing_n we_o do_v in_o those_o good_a duty_n that_o we_o perform_v the_o hear_n of_o the_o word_n communicate_v the_o partake_n of_o all_o the_o holy_a ordinance_n in_o all_o the_o duty_n belong_v to_o god_n worship_n herein_o i_o say_v the_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v see_v for_o as_o everything_o be_v in_o its_o be_v so_o it_o be_v in_o its_o work_n look_v what_o be_v and_o essence_n it_o have_v such_o be_v the_o work_n of_o it_o now_o take_v those_o that_o be_v common_a and_o counterfeit_a grace_n which_o be_v not_o sound_a and_o right_a they_o be_v able_a to_o reach_v the_o form_n of_o good_a duty_n but_o not_o the_o substance_n but_o where_o there_o be_v true_a lively_a grace_n there_o a_o man_n be_v able_a to_o do_v the_o thing_n indeed_o that_o be_v he_o can_v do_v holy_a duty_n as_o he_o ought_v to_o do_v they_o this_o be_v the_o property_n of_o grace_n that_o it_o enable_v you_o to_o do_v the_o thing_n you_o do_v with_o a_o pure_a heart_n for_o my_o brethren_n it_o be_v grace_n that_o purify_v the_o heart_n it_o be_v that_o which_o make_v the_o inside_n clean_o other_o thing_n may_v cleanse_v the_o hand_n and_o the_o head_n philosophy_n education_n and_o part_n of_o morality_n but_o the_o power_n of_o grace_n be_v such_o as_o that_o when_o you_o come_v to_o do_v duty_n it_o purify_v the_o heart_n because_o grace_n make_v a_o man_n wise_a now_o a_o wise_a man_n will_v be_v sure_a to_o look_v to_o the_o foundation_n that_o be_v to_o look_v to_o the_o heart_n wherewith_o he_o perform_v every_o duty_n the_o foundation_n be_v all_o inall_a a_o wise_a man_n will_v see_v with_o what_o heart_n he_o perform_v every_o duty_n the_o outward_a performance_n be_v but_o as_o the_o top_n of_o the_o building_n the_o foundation_n be_v the_o principal_a beside_o grace_n put_v a_o treasure_n into_o a_o man_n heart_n and_o make_v he_o prize_v that_o treasure_n and_o where_o a_o man_n treasure_n be_v there_o his_o eye_n will_v be_v he_o will_v look_v therefore_o to_o his_o heart_n in_o the_o performance_n of_o duty_n beside_o it_o teach_v a_o man_n to_o exalt_v god_n as_o empty_v quality_n where_o by_o a_o man_n be_v make_v empty_a of_o all_o that_o be_v in_o himself_o he_o must_v forgo_v father_n and_o mother_n and_o pleasure_n and_o profit_n and_o all_o to_o receive_v christ_n second_o there_o be_v a_o apprehend_v quality_n to_o lay_v hold_n on_o christ_n a_o forsake_v of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v precious_a and_o a_o receive_n of_o he_o and_o a_o rest_v on_o he_o with_o a_o purpose_n to_o serve_v he_o only_o with_o a_o perfect_a heart_n and_o a_o willing_a mind_n it_o be_v true_a there_o be_v much_o excellency_n and_o necessity_n in_o work_n but_o faith_n be_v the_o wel-head_n from_o whence_o all_o the_o stream_n of_o good_a work_n arise_v and_o therefore_o faith_n exceed_v they_o as_o much_o as_o the_o cause_n do_v the_o effect_n for_o give_v glory_n to_o god_n first_o by_o his_o believe_v he_o to_o be_v such_o a_o god_n as_o he_o profess_v himself_o to_o be_v and_o so_o that_o which_o make_v he_o evident_a to_o all_o the_o world_n to_o be_v a_o god_n most_o merciful_a be_v the_o receive_n of_o christ_n by_o faith_n further_n in_o this_o do_v the_o true_a worship_n of_o god_n principal_o consist_v now_o god_n delight_v in_o christ_n i_o deny_v not_o but_o god_n be_v able_a to_o send_v lightning_n without_o thunder_n he_o may_v have_v preach_v the_o gospel_n to_o adam_n without_o the_o law_n but_o his_o will_n be_v not_o
