a_o consolation_n shall_v be_v take_v and_o apply_v to_o the_o depart_a person_n who_o be_v translate_v from_o death_n to_o life_n through_o faith_n in_o christ_n lyve_v with_o the_o lord_n and_o rest_a in_o eternal_a peace_n look_v for_o us._n hereunto_o let_v a_o exhortation_n be_v add_v for_o they_o that_o stand_v by_o namely_o that_o they_o shall_v daily_o dye_v more_o and_o more_o to_o sin_n and_o prepare_v themselves_o to_o the_o heavenly_a life_n that_o be_v to_o come_v and_o so_o pray_v god_n continual_o that_o he_o will_v grant_v they_o a_o lucky_a and_o good_a end_n of_o this_o life_n and_o if_o there_o be_v any_o notable_a prove_n of_o god_n goodness_n declare_v towards_o the_o dead_a person_n in_o his_o life_n or_o death_n the_o minister_fw-fr shall_v declare_v and_o praise_v the_o same_o with_o a_o good_a and_o godly_a commemoration_n to_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n and_o edification_n of_o the_o church_n wherein_o nevertheless_o he_o must_v beware_v that_o he_o seem_v not_o to_o have_v go_v about_o to_o please_v man_n ear_n but_o to_o have_v regard_v with_o a_o pure_a herte_n the_o institution_n of_o the_o congregation_n and_o commendation_n of_o god_n gift_n and_o as_o concern_v buri_v there_o be_v a_o most_o apt_a place_n in_o the_o first_o epistle_n of_o paul_n thessalo_n chap._n iiij_o we_o will_v not_o that_o you_o be_v ignorant_a concern_v they_o that_o sleep_n etc_n out_o of_o which_o place_n there_o may_v be_v a_o sermon_n make_v after_o this_o sort_n for_o asmuch_o as_o we_o be_v come_v togethee_o by_o the_o calling_n of_o god_n to_o bury_v our_o brother_n a_o member_n of_o the_o same_o body_n of_o christ_n and_o seinge_v also_o that_o in_o the_o company_n of_o christian_a man_n all_o thing_n must_v be_v do_v to_o commune_v edification_n we_o have_v think_v good_a to_o declare_v some_o thing_n unto_o you_o more_o exact_o out_o of_o the_o sermon_n that_o s._n paul_n make_v of_o they_o that_o sleep_n that_o by_o the_o help_v of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n we_o may_v receyve_v some_o godly_a and_o christian_n consolation_n thereof_o in_o the_o sundry_a tentation_n of_o our_o faith_n and_o in_o the_o straits_n of_o death_n s._n paul_n then_o write_v after_o this_o sort_n iiij_o thess_n i_o will_v not_o that_o you_o be_v ignorant_a brother_n concern_v they_o that_o be_v fall_v a_o sleep_n that_o you_o sorrow_n not_o as_o other_o man_n do_v this_o be_v that_o notable_a place_n of_o s._n paul_n concern_v they_o that_o sleep_n that_o be_v to_o say_v concern_v christian_n man_n depart_v which_o we_o ought_v to_o take_v not_o as_o a_o devise_n of_o man_n but_o as_o the_o true_a and_o sincere_a oracle_n of_o god_n whereof_o we_o may_v not_o only_o get_v consolation_n in_o this_o mournful_a sorrow_n which_o we_o be_v in_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o death_n of_o our_o brother_n but_o also_o help_v and_o conforte_v against_o the_o terror_n of_o death_n the_o philosopher_n have_v dispute_v of_o the_o despise_a of_o death_n with_o many_o and_o sundry_a argument_n as_o when_o they_o say_v that_o death_n be_v a_o common_a debt_n of_o mankind_n and_o a_o end_n of_o all_o the_o misery_n that_o chance_n to_o the_o life_n which_o say_n among_o man_n in_o prosperous_a health_n and_o such_o as_o be_v careless_a as_o touch_v god_n judgement_n seem_v godly_a and_o have_v a_o colour_n of_o wisdom_n but_o in_o the_o true_a terror_n of_o death_n they_o be_v vain_a and_o can_v bring_v no_o substantial_a consolation_n for_o if_o 〈◊〉_d man_n look_v more_o narrow_o upon_o the_o cause_n of_o death_n he_o shall_v find_v that_o death_n be_v in_o deed_n as_o paul_n say_v the_o reward_n of_o sin_n and_o as_o moses_n speak_v also_o we_o be_v waste_v through_o thy_o wrath_n and_o by_o reason_n of_o thy_o hot_a indignation_n we_o be_v throw_v do_v thou_o have_v set_v our_o iniquity_n before_o thy_o sight_n etc_n now_o it_o be_v well_o know_v that_o god_n so_o hate_v sin_n that_o he_o will_v punish_v the_o same_o not_o only_o for_o a_o time_n but_o for_o ever_o death_n they_o be_v such_o a_o punishment_n of_o the_o most_o ryghtful_a wrath_n of_o god_n that_o man_n shall_v not_o only_o be_v deprive_v of_o this_o life_n but_o also_o of_o everla_a salvation_n and_o shall_v be_v adjudge_v to_o everla_a damnation_n so_o far_o of_o it_o be_v then_o that_o the_o end_n of_o evil_n be_v in_o death_n as_o the_o philosopher_n false_o persuade_v themselves_o that_o rather_o if_o you_o have_v a_o respect_n to_o sin_n it_o be_v a_o door_n and_o entry_n unto_o everlasting_a misery_n these_o thing_n than_o must_v be_v know_v consider_v and_o set_v before_o our_o eye_n continual_o not_o that_o we_o shall_v take_v thereof_o a_o occasion_n to_o despair_n or_o to_o doubt_n of_o our_o salvation_n as_o the_o heathen_a and_o ungodly_a do_v but_o rather_o that_o be_v move_v with_o this_o condesideration_n we_o may_v be_v steere_v up_o and_o dryven_v to_o christ_n to_o seek_v our_o only_a salvation_n in_o his_o gospel_n through_o faith_n and_o to_o require_v of_o he_o only_o deliveraunce_n from_o death_n and_o though_o death_n bring_v certain_a destruction_n and_o condemnation_n with_o it_o if_o you_o put_v christ_n a_o part_n and_o have_v a_o respect_n to_o sin_n yet_o seinge_v that_o christ_n never_o commit_v any_o sin_n &_o very_o guiltless_a if_o you_o regard_v his_o own_o person_n suffer_v death_n sure_o she_o have_v no_o right_n at_o all_o against_o he_o whereof_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o she_o can_v not_o hold_v he_o nor_o destroy_v he_o but_o be_v compel_v to_o restore_v he_o for_o where_o as_o he_o be_v dead_a in_o the_o flesh_n and_o afterward_o bury_v forthwyth_o upon_o the_o three_o day_n he_o rise_v again_o with_o great_a glory_n and_o so_o open_o and_o evident_o declare_v the_o same_o his_o resurrection_n not_o only_o by_o the_o testimony_n
