to_o all_o thing_n whether_o they_o be_v bodily_a and_o material_a or_o spiritual_a and_o immaterial_a as_o ens_fw-la essentia_fw-la existentia_fw-la unitas_fw-la veritas_fw-la bonitas_fw-la and_o the_o division_n of_o ens_fw-la in_fw-la completum_fw-la &_o incompletum_fw-la finitum_fw-la &_o infinitum_fw-la necessarium_fw-la &_o contingens_fw-la permanens_fw-la &_o successivum_fw-la absolutum_fw-la &_o respectivum_fw-la principium_fw-la &_o principiatum_fw-la causam_fw-la &_o effectum_fw-la subjectum_fw-la &_o adjunctum_fw-la signum_fw-la &_o signatum_fw-la mensuram_fw-la &_o mensuratum_fw-la actum_fw-la &_o potentiam_fw-la etc._n etc._n now_o these_o thing_n be_v transcend_v and_o do_v exceed_v the_o limit_n of_o particular_a and_o inferior_a science_n science_n as_o physic_n geometry_n arithmetic_n and_o the_o science_n which_o be_v subalternate_a and_o subordinate_a to_o they_o wherefore_o they_o can_v be_v handle_v in_o they_o but_o for_o the_o handle_n of_o they_o there_o must_v be_v some_o general_a and_o transcendent_a science_n who_o speculation_n be_v not_o limit_v to_o any_o particular_a species_n entis_fw-la but_o comprehend_v and_o take_v in_o all_o thing_n under_o the_o capacity_n and_o amplitude_n of_o the_o object_n of_o it_o and_o this_o be_v metaphysic_n of_o which_o we_o be_v now_o speak_v sect_n 3._o three_o reason_n conduce_v to_o the_o praise_n of_o metaphysic_n induce_v all_o man_n to_o the_o study_n of_o it_o and_o set_v down_o some_o principal_a end_n and_o use_v thereof_o by_o this_o every_o man_n may_v clear_o see_v the_o necessity_n of_o this_o science_n for_o the_o perfection_n of_o philosophy_n but_o it_o may_v be_v that_o some_o will_v think_v the_o consideration_n of_o these_o immaterial_a or_o spiritual_a thing_n of_o which_o i_o do_v speak_v in_o my_o first_o reason_n as_o also_o these_o attribute_n property_n and_o distinction_n which_o be_v common_a to_o thing_n material_a and_o immaterial_a and_o of_o which_o i_o do_v speak_v in_o my_o second_o reason_n some_o i_o say_v will_v think_v the_o consideration_n of_o they_o not_o to_o be_v necessary_a resolve_v but_o to_o be_v more_o curious_a than_o profitable_a but_o i_o persuade_v myself_o no_o wise_a or_o judicious_a man_n will_v think_v so_o for_o first_o reason_n without_o the_o knowledge_n of_o these_o general_a and_o transcendent_a metaphysical_a term_n and_o notion_n or_o conception_n no_o solid_a knowledge_n can_v be_v have_v for_o the_o subject_n which_o be_v handle_v in_o inferior_a science_n
