simple_a shall_v understand_v these_o mystery_n not_o as_o we_o show_v before_o such_o as_o have_v no_o conceive_v at_o all_o but_o such_o as_o acknowledge_v their_o simplicity_n and_o hunger_n simple_a of_o understanding_n so_o be_v they_o to_o they_o that_o be_v zealous_a in_o affection_n the_o cause_n then_o why_o we_o do_v no_o more_o profit_n by_o the_o word_n be_v because_o we_o do_v not_o deny_v our_o reason_n we_o have_v not_o affection_n that_o hunger_n after_o it_o nor_o love_n to_o make_v we_o pant_v for_o it_o which_o thing_n if_o we_o do_v we_o shall_v sure_o be_v satisfy_v indeed_o the_o lord_n give_v understand_v to_o who_o he_o please_v &_o where_o he_o purpose_v to_o bestow_v so_o great_a a_o blessing_n he_o give_v grace_n also_o more_o abundant_o to_o subove_n the_o simplicity_n of_o god_n word_n and_o if_o the_o entrance_n rudiment_n and_o principle_n of_o religion_n give_v such_o knowledge_n and_o the_o very_a catechism_n yield_v such_o understanding_n what_o be_v to_o be_v hope_v for_o when_o we_o attain_v to_o ripe_a knowledge_n when_o we_o have_v more_o understanding_n when_o we_o have_v more_o affection_n well_o let_v we_o then_o examine_v our_o own_o heart_n herein_o when_o we_o begin_v be_v we_o delight_v with_o understanding_n and_o do_v our_o understanding_n move_v in_o we_o such_o affection_n and_o in_o our_o proceed_n be_v our_o understanding_n less_o and_o our_o affection_n few_o or_o do_v we_o not_o think_v still_o of_o our_o ignorance_n and_o desire_v to_o have_v our_o judgement_n clear_a we_o be_v in_o a_o dangerous_a estate_n we_o must_v suspect_v ourselves_o satan_n will_v bewitch_v we_o and_o tell_v we_o that_o this_o be_v a_o paradox_n that_o after_o so_o long_o hear_v and_o read_v we_o shall_v still_o be_v ignorant_a and_o that_o still_o we_o have_v need_n to_o hunger_n after_o the_o word_n it_o be_v therefore_o the_o great_a mercy_n of_o god_n that_o to_o the_o receive_n of_o so_o singular_a a_o benefit_n he_o require_v nothing_o of_o we_o but_o the_o acknowlede_n of_o our_o ignorance_n and_o bewail_v of_o our_o want_n he_o will_v that_o we_o shall_v still_o put_v ourselves_o in_o mind_n of_o this_o one_o thing_n that_o though_o we_o have_v not_o this_o understanding_n in_o the_o high_a degree_n or_o in_o a_o hundred_o fold_n yet_o we_o must_v have_v it_o in_o some_o degree_n either_o in_o threescore_o fold_n or_o in_o thirty_o fold_n we_o must_v vex_v grieve_v and_o trouble_v ourselves_o for_o this_o affection_n for_o where_o it_o be_v the_o heart_n be_v a_o liberal_a and_o free_a ruler_n of_o our_o affection_n and_o where_o it_o be_v not_o we_o must_v learn_v to_o lay_v violent_a hand_n even_o on_o our_o affection_n we_o be_v to_o show_v that_o which_o we_o omit_v in_o the_o latter_a end_n of_o the_o verse_n go_v before_o because_o i_o love_v thy_o law_n etc._n etc._n here_o the_o prophet_n show_v that_o the_o love_n which_o he_o do_v bear_v to_o god_n law_n be_v so_o great_a that_o it_o can_v not_o satisfy_v he_o but_o still_o he_o thirst_v after_o it_o and_o thirst_v do_v pant_v love_n as_o we_o say_v always_o set_v a_o price_n of_o thing_n nothing_o be_v too_o dear_a no_o travail_n

infirmity_n i_o have_v offend_v â—â—â—_o not_o malicious_o and_o obstinate_o wherefore_o although_o we_o can_v be_v free_a from_o all_o sin_n yet_o we_o must_v beware_v of_o presumptuous_a â—â—â—â—_o and_o although_o we_o be_v weak_a yet_o we_o must_v not_o willing_o and_o witting_o depart_v from_o the_o law_n what_o then_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o oft_o it_o be_v so_o long_o ere_o we_o be_v to_o fight_v quicken_v i_o according_a to_o thy_o word_n whether_o the_o prophet_n desire_v to_o be_v quicken_v corporal_o or_o spiritual_o whether_o for_o that_o he_o be_v ready_a to_o be_v swallow_v up_o of_o his_o adversary_n or_o for_o that_o he_o need_v some_o inward_a comfort_n or_o whether_o it_o be_v for_o both_o it_o be_v not_o great_o material_a but_o i_o think_v we_o may_v safe_o take_v it_o in_o both_o sense_n for_o if_o he_o be_v quicken_v in_o the_o spirit_n he_o know_v that_o the_o other_o comfort_n will_v follow_v after_o so_o that_o if_o we_o understand_v it_o spiritual_o he_o pray_v that_o by_o faith_n and_o quicken_a grace_n he_o may_v be_v encourage_v to_o go_v on_o forward_o and_o that_o he_o may_v no_o more_o faint_a hereafter_o than_o he_o have_v do_v heretofore_o without_o which_o grace_n support_v and_o renew_v he_o he_o be_v like_a to_o quail_v under_o the_o burden_n thus_o we_o see_v god_n child_n be_v often_o at_o death_n door_n in_o body_n and_o soul_n become_v harden_v this_o declare_v in_o that_o we_o abstain_v from_o sin_n only_o for_o punishment_n sake_n and_o we_o will_v sin_v at_o riot_n be_v there_o no_o punish_n that_o we_o be_v but_o hypocrite_n and_o such_o from_o who_o salvation_n be_v far_o off_o well_o if_o salvation_n be_v far_o from_o they_o that_o seek_v not_o god_n law_n then_o may_v we_o gather_v on_o the_o contrary_a that_o salvation_n be_v near_o they_o that_o seek_v his_o law_n for_o like_a be_v the_o rule_n of_o contrary_n if_o we_o then_o labour_v for_o faith_n and_o a_o good_a conscience_n we_o may_v assure_v ourselves_o of_o salvation_n wherefore_o will_v thou_o have_v assurance_n to_o be_v save_v let_v the_o word_n be_v near_o thou_o in_o thy_o mouth_n and_o in_o thy_o heart_n rome_n 10._o 8_o let_v it_o dwell_v plentiful_o in_o thou_o with_o all_o manner_n of_o wisdom_n col._n 3._o 16._o here_o be_v also_o a_o good_a rule_n as_o we_o see_v whereby_o we_o may_v discern_v who_o be_v good_a and_o who_o unlawful_a and_o this_o be_v here_o forbid_a for_o little_a or_o no_o good_a at_o all_o can_v be_v get_v by_o they_o they_o will_v hardly_o or_o not_o at_o all_o be_v bring_v to_o goodness_n and_o such_o be_v their_o subtlety_n that_o one_o of_o they_o be_v able_a to_o pervert_v the_o faith_n or_o at_o least_o to_o corrupt_v the_o manner_n of_o very_a many_o good_a cause_n therefore_o there_o be_v why_o we_o shall_v depart_v and_o get_v ourselves_o from_o they_o on_o the_o contrary_a side_n we_o be_v teach_v to_o seek_v out_o good_a company_n and_o to_o join_v ourselves_o to_o they_o as_o near_o as_o may_v be_v yet_o with_o this_o full_a purpose_n of_o heart_n that_o we_o may_v receive_v fruit_n and_o profit_n by_o they_o nature_n do_v call_v upon_o we_o to_o do_v this_o the_o communion_n of_o saint_n require_v it_o at_o our_o hand_n our_o own_o profit_n shall_v compel_v we_o the_o example_n of_o every_o man_n in_o each_o calling_n may_v move_v we_o thereunto_o for_o man_n the_o company_n of_o they_o that_o be_v most_o skilful_a and_o all_o this_o be_v to_o obtain_v the_o knowledge_n of_o earthly_a thing_n and_o the_o favour_n of_o they_o that_o can_v help_v they_o
