life_n from_o whence_o a_o believer_n may_v fetch_v his_o pleasure_n object_n but_o you_o tell_v we_o only_o of_o the_o pleasant_a part_n but_o the_o troublesome_a and_o bitter_a part_n you_o say_v you_o may_v drink_v poison_n or_o keep_v your_o sickness_n or_o tumble_v in_o the_o dirt_n one_o will_v think_v that_o mischief_n to_o ourselves_o or_o other_o shall_v be_v small_a pleasure_n to_o a_o such_o pleasure_n as_o you_o can_v forsake_v to_o abuse_v the_o lord_n and_o wrong_v your_o soul_n the_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n do_v tend_v to_o pain_n some_o pain_n do_v usual_o attend_v it_o here_o and_o much_o more_o hereafter_o god_n will_v prevent_v your_o pain_n and_o misery_n by_o prevent_v or_o destroy_v your_o sin_n and_o do_v you_o accuse_v his_o word_n because_o it_o will_v keep_v you_o the_o shame_n and_o contempt_n that_o it_o bring_v on_o they_o here_o and_o the_o wound_n of_o their_o conscience_n and_o tell_v i_o whether_o it_o be_v not_o more_o pleasure_n to_o forbear_v those_o cup_n then_o to_o drink_v they_o and_o have_v not_o gluttony_n more_o trouble_n attend_v it_o then_o temperance_n by_o that_o time_n the_o charge_n be_v pay_v the_o sickness_n that_o fullness_n breed_v be_v endure_v the_o physician_n pay_v and_o all_o the_o effect_n of_o gluttony_n overcome_v you_o will_v find_v that_o the_o pleasure_n be_v little_a to_o the_o pain_n the_o like_a i_o may_v say_v of_o uncleanness_n worldliness_n passion_n pride_n and_o all_o other_o sin_n that_o usual_o bring_v a_o punishment_n with_o they_o 2._o and_o then_o for_o castigatory_a suffering_n it_o be_v not_o godliness_n that_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o they_o as_o suffering_n sin_n less_o and_o suffer_v less_o provoke_v not_o god_n and_o he_o will_v spare_v the_o rod._n do_v you_o hurt_v yourselves_o like_o careless_a child_n and_o then_o blame_v god_n for_o bid_v you_o take_v heed_n god_n do_v not_o punish_v man_n for_o holiness_n and_o well_o do_v it_o be_v for_o want_v of_o holiness_n that_o you_o be_v punish_v i_o think_v therefore_o that_o it_o be_v part_n of_o the_o pleasure_n of_o a_o holy_a life_n that_o it_o keep_v man_n out_o of_o the_o way_n of_o punishment_n you_o must_v have_v pain_n and_o unpleasant_a physic_n when_o once_o you_o have_v take_v a_o surfeit_n of_o sensual_a delight_n and_o make_v yourselves_o sick_a with_o too_o much_o of_o the_o creature_n holiness_n will_v have_v prevent_v this_o and_o when_o that_o be_v too_o late_a it_o will_v cure_v it_o by_o the_o cheap_a mean_n that_o your_o health_n will_v bear_v be_v it_o not_o then_o unreasonable_a when_o you_o have_v trouble_v yourselves_o to_o blame_v your_o physician_n for_o trouble_v you_o in_o order_n to_o a_o cure_n 3._o and_o for_o those_o suffering_n that_o be_v principal_o for_o christ_n conâ—ider_v 1._o that_o they_o be_v also_o original_o from_o sin_n and_o therefore_o you_o may_v know_v what_o to_o blame_v for_o the_o bitter_a part_n though_o the_o time_n and_o place_n and_o manner_n and_o measure_n of_o your_o suffering_n may_v proceed_v from_o the_o gracious_a providence_n of_o your_o lord_n yet_o that_o suppose_v that_o sin_n have_v bring_v you_o into_o a_o state_n of_o suffer_v in_o general_n before_o which_o christ_n do_v not_o present_o and_o plenary_o remit_v and_o take_v off_o but_o dispose_v of_o they_o by_o his_o wisdom_n as_o may_v make_v most_o for_o his_o glory_n and_o among_o all_o that_o be_v pious_a wise_a and_o sober_a and_o why_o shall_v not_o the_o shame_n of_o sin_n be_v more_o loathe_a then_o the_o undeserved_a shame_n of_o honesty_n alas_o all_o this_o be_v and_o ungodly_a life_n then_o to_o all_o his_o minister_n and_o servant_n that_o love_v his_o law_n and_o meditate_v in_o they_o day_n and_o night_n and_o live_v in_o prayer_n and_o other_o holy_a
