suffice_v by_o way_n of_o motive_n a_o word_n or_o two_o by_o way_n of_o direction_n if_o this_o be_v possible_a to_o be_v have_v how_o shall_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n get_v it_o you_o see_v some_o of_o god_n servant_n be_v hold_v under_o the_o fear_n of_o death_n and_o that_o all_o their_o life_n long_o how_o shall_v we_o be_v free_v from_o this_o fear_n death_n i_o shall_v now_o orderly_o take_v up_o the_o particular_n lay_v down_o as_o cause_n and_o show_v that_o by_o these_o it_o be_v cure_v as_o for_o instance_n do_v god_n do_v this_o for_o this_o end_n that_o he_o may_v humble_v assurance_n of_o god_n love_n to_o spiritual_a disertion_n wherein_o he_o seem_v to_o be_v as_o in_o a_o cloud_n under_o the_o frown_n of_o god_n when_o a_o man_n be_v in_o this_o case_n how_o shall_v restrain_v of_o evil_a man_n from_o outrage_n in_o the_o world_n and_o it_o be_v a_o preparative_n in_o the_o way_n to_o conversion_n as_o it_o be_v act._n 2._o 2._o last_o there_o be_v a_o filial_a sonlike_a fear_n that_o arise_v out_o of_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o greatness_n and_o especial_o of_o the_o goodness_n fear_n of_o god_n whereby_o a_o man_n so_o hate_v punishment_n as_o he_o hate_v sin_n also_o the_o cause_n of_o it_o now_o there_o be_v divers_a degree_n of_o filial_a fear_n one_o degree_n we_o call_v innitiall_a fear_n in_o this_o world_n and_o a_o degree_n of_o perfection_n in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v in_o this_o world_n the_o fear_n we_o have_v have_v one_o eye_n upon_o the_o punishment_n and_o another_o eye_n upon_o the_o commandment_n or_o love_n of_o god_n and_o here_o many_o make_v a_o doubt_n whether_o they_o be_v to_o do_v that_o which_o be_v good_a have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o recompense_n of_o reward_n or_o to_o abstain_v from_o evil_a out_o of_o the_o fear_n of_o punishment_n for_o answer_v brief_o any_o thing_n almighty_a god_n have_v make_v a_o motive_n to_o we_o to_o encourage_v we_o to_o do_v well_o or_o to_o deter_v we_o from_o evil_a we_o may_v make_v a_o motive_n to_o ourselves_o and_o as_o long_o as_o we_o do_v so_o we_o do_v well_o it_o be_v so_o with_o adam_n in_o paradise_n this_o be_v propound_v as_o a_o motive_n in_o the_o day_n thou_o eat_v thereof_o thou_o shall_v die_v then_o to_o abstain_v from_o the_o forbid_a fruit_n partly_o out_o of_o fear_n of_o punishment_n if_o adam_n do_v so_o he_o do_v well_o so_o every_o one_o of_o we_o in_o regard_n of_o any_o evil_n we_o may_v have_v a_o eye_n to_o the_o punishment_n that_o will_v be_v the_o consequent_a of_o the_o thing_n for_o christ_n urge_v this_o to_o if_o we_o can_v hearty_o and_o true_o out_o of_o love_n to_o god_n do_v it_o by_o all_o the_o motive_n that_o god_n have_v propound_v to_o have_v a_o fear_v mere_o for_o punishment_n and_o still_o to_o retain_v the_o love_n of_o sin_n and_o no_o respect_n or_o love_n to_o the_o commandment_n of_o god_n this_o be_v not_o acceptable_a to_o god_n in_o a_o save_a manner_n but_o to_o have_v a_o eye_n to_o god_n and_o to_o abstain_v from_o sin_n partly_o out_o of_o love_n to_o god_n and_o partly_o out_o of_o fear_n of_o punishment_n this_o be_v acceptable_a to_o god_n for_o a_o man_n must_v love_v himself_o in_o subordination_n to_o the_o love_n of_o god_n and_o therefore_o he_o may_v look_v to_o the_o avoid_n of_o evil_a and_o to_o the_o get_n of_o good_a eternal_a to_o soul_n and_o body_n now_o these_o fear_n we_o may_v consider_v of_o they_o thus_o the_o natural_a fear_n may_v be_v accompany_v with_o the_o spirit_n but_o it_o come_v not_o from_o the_o spirit_n that_o must_v be_v order_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n second_o carnal_a fear_n come_v not_o from_o the_o spirit_n nor_o be_v accompany_v with_o it_o this_o be_v ever_o to_o be_v mortify_v this_o we_o must_v take_v heed_n of_o and_o this_o fear_n abraham_n be_v exhort_v against_o here_o three_o the_o fear_n that_o be_v servile_a it_o come_v from_o the_o spirit_n but_o it_o be_v not_o accompany_v with_o that_o may_v be_v take_v from_o we_o now_o you_o see_v that_o a_o christian_n be_v such_o a_o man_n as_o may_v live_v without_o all_o fear_n that_o be_v carnal_a fear_v not_o they_o that_o can_v kill_v the_o body_n and_o in_o isaiah_n 8._o 12._o fear_v not_o their_o fear_n 12._o what_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o this_o i_o will_v tell_v you_o brief_o christ_n come_v into_o the_o world_n to_o
