his_o sin_n from_o the_o knowledge_n of_o his_o conscience_n and_o both_o from_o god_n eye_n 2_o from_o satan_n who_o though_o he_o now_o seem_v as_o his_o master_n yet_o he_o know_v and_o tremble_v to_o think_v of_o it_o that_o hereafter_o he_o must_v be_v his_o everlasting_a tormentor_n 3_o from_o god_n himself_o who_o most_o furious_a wrath_n and_o unavoideable_a vengeance_n he_o know_v be_v prepare_v for_o he_o and_o ready_a every_o moment_n to_o swallow_v he_o for_o his_o rebellion_n now_o who_o can_v eat_v his_o meat_n merry_o that_o must_v pay_v such_o a_o shot_n what_o comfort_v of_o this_o life_n what_o pleasure_n of_o sin_n can_v be_v sweet_a which_o be_v every_o moment_n embitter_v with_o so_o many_o woe_n it_o help_v not_o a_o jot_n that_o they_o be_v for_o a_o time_n defer_v for_o he_o be_v no_o freeman_n who_o though_o he_o be_v not_o clap_v up_o in_o prison_n yet_o can_v walk_v abroad_o without_o fear_n of_o the_o sergeant_n the_o prison_n the_o gallows_n when_o the_o country_n be_v lay_v for_o he_o and_o execution_n out_o for_o he_o in_o every_o place_n certain_o it_o be_v a_o hell_n to_o live_v in_o fear_n of_o hell_n and_o as_o bad_a as_o death_n to_o live_v in_o bondage_n for_o fear_n thereof_o all_o the_o day_n of_o a_o man_n life_n heb._n 2._o 13._o yet_o such_o be_v the_o miserable_a thraldom_n of_o a_o wicked_a man_n he_o be_v every_o way_n in_o the_o brier_n be_v on_o the_o one_o side_n fast_o chain_v to_o his_o sinful_a and_o ungodlie_a course_n on_o the_o other_o as_o sure_o and_o certain_o bind_v to_o his_o everlasting_a punishment_n and_o so_o much_o for_o the_o first_o part_n of_o the_o nature_n of_o this_o spiritual_a bondage_n wherein_o it_o stand_v 2_o i_o go_v forward_o to_o the_o next_o point_n which_o i_o propose_v to_o your_o consideration_n viz._n the_o diverse_a degree_n of_o this_o bondage_n where_o you_o be_v to_o note_v that_o there_o be_v two_o kind_n of_o it_o 1._o wilful_a 2_o unwilfull_a slavery_n 1_o wilful_a bondage_n be_v when_o a_o free_a man_n be_v content_a to_o be_v make_v a_o slave_n or_o be_v by_o force_n or_o fraud_n make_v one_o be_v willing_a to_o continue_v one_o still_o such_o a_o one_o be_v ahab_n who_o sell_v himself_o for_o a_o slave_n to_o do_v wicked_o 1._o king_n 21._o 20._o i_o will_v give_v the_o worth_n of_o it_o say_v he_o to_o naboth_n when_o he_o seek_v after_o his_o vine_n yard_n true_a he_o give_v the_o full_a worth_n of_o it_o that_o sell_v himself_o for_o a_o few_o acre_n of_o land_n such_o be_v all_o those_o that_o commit_v sin_n with_o greediness_n who_o take_v pleasure_n in_o all_o unrighteousness_n who_o love_v the_o wage_n of_o iniquity_n who_o obey_v sin_n in_o the_o lust_n thereof_o who_o take_v think_v to_o fulfil_v the_o desire_n of_o the_o flesh_n with_o full_a consent_n and_o hearty_a good_a will_n give_v up_o themselves_o to_o be_v rule_v by_o the_o counsel_n of_o satan_n and_o their_o wicked_a heart_n in_o which_o condition_n of_o a_o wretched_a sinner_n you_o may_v observe_v two_o thing_n remarkable_a 1_o how_o strange_o base_a and_o degenerate_a man_n nature_n be_v grow_v who_o be_v a_o most_o noble_a creature_n make_v for_o the_o most_o honourable_a purpose_n and_o service_n in_o the_o world_n be_v now_o grow_v so_o vile_a and_o extreme_o base_a so_o far_o forgetful_a of_o his_o duty_n and_o the_o dignity_n of_o his_o creation_n as_o to_o be_v willing_a instead_o of_o the_o free_a and_o happy_a service_n of_o god_n and_o goodness_n to_o put_v himself_o into_o a_o most_o ignominious_a slavery_n unto_o devil_n and_o vile_a affection_n natural_o we_o all_o love_n liberty_n &_o choose_v rather_o the_o loss_n of_o life_n then_o of_o it_o and_o only_a violence_n &_o fraud_n can_v bring_v we_o or_o keep_v we_o in_o bondage_n but_o sin_n have_v prevail_v with_o we_o against_o nature_n and_o so_o take_v off_o from_o we_o the_o edge_n of_o all_o virtuous_a and_o manly_a resolution_n that_o of_o our_o own_o accord_n we_o offer_v ourselves_o unto_o it_o be_v put_v in_o fetter_n and_o manacle_n by_o our_o own_o corruption_n yea_o this_o slavery_n man_n count_v their_o only_a liberty_n in_o somuch_o that_o when_o they_o be_v call_v unto_o freedom_n have_v their_o ransom_n offer_v they_o and_o all_o mean_n of_o escape_n lay_v before_o they_o yet_o they_o choose_v to_o be_v slave_n still_o 2_o how_o difficult_a a_o matter_n it_o be_v for_o a_o man_n to_o come_v out_o of_o this_o bondage_n sure_o he_o that_o love_v the_o prison_n better_o than_o his_o enlargement_n its_o pity_n there_o shall_v be_v any_o mean_n of_o his_o delivery_n and_o it_o be_v hazard_n if_o they_o be_v seek_v he_o will_v not_o accept_v of_o they_o that_o servant_n who_o in_o the_o seven_o year_n of_o his_o bondage_n do_v so_o love_v his_o master_n that_o he_o will_v not_o go_v out_o free_a he_o be_v by_o the_o law_n to_o serve_v his_o master_n for_o ever_o afterward_o exod._n 21._o 5._o he_o that_o will_v not_o be_v free_a when_o he_o may_v shall_v not_o afterward_o when_o happy_o he_o will_v and_o so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o servant_n of_o sin_n when_o once_o they_o bear_v a_o good_a affection_n to_o their_o master_n and_o be_v so_o far_o bewitch_v as_o to_o hold_v themselves_o well_o pay_v with_o his_o service_n then_o be_v their_o ear_n nail_v fast_o to_o the_o post_n and_o gate_n of_o hell_n or_o rather_o with_o siser●_n a_o nail_n be_v strike_v through_o their_o temple_n and_o at_o one_o stroke_n they_o loose_v both_o life_n and_o liberty_n for_o ever_o so_o that_o unless_o that_o strong_a man_n make_v a_o forecible_a rescue_n of_o they_o out_o of_o the_o hand_n of_o these_o tyrant_n they_o do_v never_o escape_v from_o this_o miserable_a thraldom_n 2_o unwilling_a bondage_n
