1._o we_o deny_v faith_n to_o be_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o covenant_n in_o mr._n baxters_n sense_n if_o he_o will_v have_v speak_v direct_o to_o they_o against_o who_o he_o argue_v he_o shall_v have_v say_v then_o faith_n will_v have_v justify_v though_o it_o have_v never_o be_v appoint_v and_o give_v of_o god_n as_o a_o instrument_n to_o receive_v christ_n the_o justifyer_n and_o then_o we_o shall_v answer_v 2._o that_o it_o be_v so_o much_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v then_o our_o tooth_n will_v have_v nourish_v and_o preserve_v life_n although_o god_n have_v never_o appoint_v and_o give_v they_o to_o we_o as_o instrument_n to_o chew_v the_o nourish_a meat_n and_o thus_o the_o caveat_n that_o he_o add_v become_v useless_a viz._n b._n let_v those_o therefore_o take_v heed_n that_o make_v faith_n to_o justify_v mere_o because_o it_o apprehend_v christ_n which_o be_v its_o natural_a essential_a property_n for_o none_o affirm_v faith_n to_o justify_v mere_o because_o it_o apprehend_v christ_n without_o consider_v also_o god_n order_v and_o fit_v it_o to_o this_o office_n together_o with_o his_o promise_n and_o the_o virtue_n lay_v up_o in_o christ_n to_o justify_v all_o that_o do_v by_o faith_n so_o apprehend_v he_o b._n that_o it_o be_v faith_n in_o a_o proper_a sense_n that_o be_v say_v to_o justify_v and_o not_o christ_n righteousness_n only_o which_o it_o receive_v may_v appear_v thus_o 1._o from_o a_o necessity_n of_o a_o twofold_a righteousness_n which_o i_o have_v before_o prove_v in_o reference_n to_o the_o twofold_a covenant_n 2._o from_o the_o plain_a and_o constant_a phrase_n of_o scripture_n which_o say_v he_o that_o believe_v shall_v be_v justify_v and_o that_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o faith_n and_o that_o faith_n be_v impute_v for_o righteousness_n it_o have_v be_v as_o easy_a for_o the_o holy_a ghost_n to_o have_v say_v that_o christ_n only_o be_v impute_v or_o his_o righteousness_n only_o or_o christ_n only_o justify_v etc._n
