it_o merit_n to_o deserve_v for_o we_o remission_n of_o sin_n the_o same_o godhead_n and_o divine_a power_n work_v in_o the_o member_n of_o christ_n thereby_o the_o death_n and_o mortification_n of_o which_o be_v evidence_v and_o clear_v by_o this_o argument_n that_o they_o be_v exceed_o envious_a and_o grieve_v much_o if_o they_o perceive_v any_o other_o to_o be_v equal_o like_v and_o love_v as_o themselves_o for_o their_o goodness_n and_o care_n of_o well-doing_n as_o among_o the_o jew_n diverse_a of_o they_o do_v sundry_a good_a thing_n yet_o they_o envy_v christ_n because_o he_o do_v more_o consider_v of_o the_o one_o be_v mercy_n take_v pity_n on_o otherfolk_n misery_n the_o other_o be_v the_o take_n in_o good_a part_n there_o doubtful_a say_n and_o do_n so_o far_o as_o with_o truth_n natural_a man_n can_v lay_v no_o claim_n unto_o they_o it_o be_v true_a that_o unregenerate_a man_n mercy_n be_v not_o altogether_o without_o mercy_n for_o barbarian_n pity_v paul_n act_v 18_o 3._o and_o the_o samaritan_n the_o wound_a lieu_n luke_n 10._o and_o pharaoh_n daughter_n do_v with_o compassion_n behold_v that_o expose_v infant_n moses_n exod._n 2_o 6._o but_o this_o be_v a_o mere_a natural_a affection_n and_o come_v not_o from_o the_o spirit_n and_o it_o be_v exercise_v not_o of_o obedience_n to_o god_n or_o for_o his_o sake_n and_o glory_n but_o upon_o carnal_a respect_n such_o as_o flesh_n and_o blood_n suggest_v extend_v itself_o unto_o outward_a misery_n only_o not_o to_o soul_n calamity_n whereof_o natural_a man_n have_v no_o sense_n and_o when_o their_o mercy_n be_v abuse_v it_o be_v ready_a to_o turn_v into_o cruelty_n and_o fierceness_n at_o the_o least_o it_o will_v not_o break_v through_o unkindness_n to_o witness_v itself_o towards_o such_o as_o deserve_v evil_a of_o they_o but_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n child_n whether_o they_o do_v respect_n their_o fellow-feeling_n in_o that_o they_o can_v take_v the_o harm_n and_o loss_n of_o other_o as_o their_o own_o remember_v they_o that_o be_v in_o bond_n as_o if_o they_o be_v bind_v themselves_o and_o they_o that_o be_v in_o prison_n as_o if_o they_o be_v afflict_v like_o member_n of_o a_o body_n who_o suffer_v together_o and_o rejoice_v together_o or_o the_o effect_n and_o work_n of_o this_o affection_n in_o minister_a to_o the_o needy_a thing_n they_o lack_v as_o cloth_n to_o the_o naked_a meat_n to_o the_o hungry_a harbour_n to_o the_o harborlesse_a and_o all_o kind_n of_o comfort_n i_o say_v in_o all_o this_o they_o be_v lead_v by_o the_o spirit_n which_o move_v they_o thus_o to_o pity_n and_o succour_v other_o even_o for_o the_o lord_n sake_n because_o it_o be_v his_o will_n and_o it_o tend_v to_o his_o glory_n &_o for_o their_o brother_n sake_n to_o refresh_v their_o bowel_n and_o
