4_o who_o know_v whether_o thou_o be_v come_v to_o the_o kingdom_n for_o such_o a_o time_n as_o this_o it_o be_v as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v it_o may_v be_v god_n have_v put_v a_o opportunity_n into_o thy_o hand_n to_o help_v his_o church_n at_o this_o time_n the_o three_o thing_n by_o way_n of_o explication_n be_v this_o but_o why_o must_v the_o disciple_n of_o christ_n be_v doer_n of_o god_n will_v the_o reason_n be_v these_o first_o because_o the_o whole_a body_n of_o religion_n as_o i_o may_v say_v consist_v in_o these_o two_o thing_n namely_o in_o believe_v and_o obey_v take_v away_o one_o of_o these_o and_o religion_n be_v a_o lame_a religion_n second_o by_o do_v the_o will_n of_o our_o father_n we_o show_v ourselves_o to_o be_v disciple_n of_o christ_n indeed_o because_o we_o now_o imitate_v our_o lord_n and_o master_n for_o thus_o do_v he_o see_v that_o remarkable_a scripture_n john_n 6.38_o i_o come_v from_o heaven_n not_o to_o do_v my_o own_o will_n but_o the_o will_n of_o he_o that_o send_v i_o three_o because_o if_o we_o do_v not_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v certain_o do_v the_o will_n of_o a_o worse_a master_n if_o we_o do_v not_o work_v in_o god_n service_n we_o shall_v do_v the_o devil_n drudgery_n if_o we_o be_v not_o worker_n of_o righteousness_n we_o shall_v be_v worker_n of_o iniquity_n as_o appear_v by_o that_o in_o matth._n 7.21_o 23_o he_o that_o do_v the_o will_n of_o my_o father_n which_o be_v in_o heaven_n he_o shall_v enter_v into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n compare_v it_o with_o verse_n 23_o and_o then_o will_v true_o be_v cause_n without_o which_o we_o can_v be_v save_v though_o they_o be_v not_o efficient_a cause_n nor_o instrumental_a cause_n yet_o they_o be_v cause_n without_o which_o we_o can_v be_v save_v as_o the_o apostle_n say_v without_o holiness_n no_o man_n shall_v see_v the_o lord_n heb._n 12.14_o so_o may_v i_o say_v here_o though_o we_o be_v not_o save_v for_o our_o good_a work_n yet_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v save_v without_o good_a work_n i_o will_v have_v you_o to_o remember_v this_o good_a work_n though_o they_o be_v not_o necessary_a to_o our_o justification_n yet_o they_o be_v necessary_a to_o our_o salvation_n there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n between_o these_o two_o to_o be_v save_v by_o faith_n and_o save_v for_o faith_n this_o be_v certain_a we_o be_v not_o save_v for_o our_o faith_n this_o be_v the_o error_n of_o the_o socinian_o that_o say_v the_o act_n of_o believe_v be_v our_o righteousness_n though_o we_o be_v not_o save_v for_o faith_n yet_o the_o apostle_n say_v we_o be_v save_v by_o faith_n so_o here_o we_o be_v not_o save_v for_o our_o good_a work_n yet_o we_o be_v not_o save_v without_o good_a work_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v he_o that_o be_v a_o doer_n of_o the_o word_n shall_v be_v bless_v in_o his_o deed_n james_n 1.25_o he_o do_v not_o say_v for_o his_o deed_n so_o you_o may_v be_v bless_v in_o your_o good_a work_n though_o not_o for_o your_o good_a work_n three_o i_o answer_v although_o faith_n alone_o do_v justify_v yet_o that_o faith_n that_o be_v alone_o do_v not_o justify_v though_o no_o man_n be_v justify_v for_o his_o work_n yet_o that_o faith_n that_o be_v a_o justify_v faith_n be_v a_o work_a faith_n second_o it_o may_v be_v object_v but_o why_o do_v you_o press_v we_o to_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n when_o of_o ourselves_o we_o be_v not_o able_a to_o do_v it_o we_o can_v of_o ourselves_o think_v a_o good_a thought_n nor_o speak_v a_o good_a word_n much_o less_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n in_o that_o manner_n as_o you_o have_v lay_v down_o how_o it_o must_v be_v do_v to_o this_o i_o answer_v our_o inability_n do_v not_o nullify_v or_o make_v void_a the_o command_v of_o god_n god_n for_o example_n bid_v you_o believe_v 1_o john_n 3.23_o and_o this_o be_v his_o commandment_n that_o we_o shall_v believe_v on_o the_o name_n of_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o faith_n it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n
