and_o groundless_a promise_n in_o this_o phrase_n of_o destroy_v the_o way_n of_o their_o path_n there_o seem_v to_o be_v a_o allusion_n to_o those_o that_o so_o mar_v the_o path_n wherein_o man_n have_v be_v wont_a to_o go_v that_o they_o that_o will_v go_v in_o they_o can_v discern_v they_o however_o clear_v it_o be_v that_o all_o this_o be_v add_v as_o a_o dreadful_a effect_n of_o god_n anger_n in_o bring_v such_o to_o rule_v over_o they_o and_o as_o a_o apparent_a discovery_n of_o the_o wickedness_n of_o the_o people_n in_o be_v so_o ready_a to_o obey_v their_o command_n and_o follow_v their_o example_n though_o never_o so_o bad_a ver._n 13._o the_o lord_n stand_v up_o to_o plead_v and_o stand_v to_o judge_n the_o people_n that_o be_v he_o be_v prepare_v and_o just_a in_o they_o be_v reducible_a to_o two_o head_n desolation_n to_o wit_n of_o the_o city_n and_o land_n and_o destruction_n to_o wit_n of_o the_o people_n be_v mention_v as_o the_o two_o thing_n before_o intend_v and_o then_o the_o famine_n and_o the_o sword_n be_v add_v as_o the_o mean_n whereby_o the_o city_n and_o land_n be_v lay_v desolate_a and_o the_o inhabitant_n destroy_v but_o i_o rather_o think_v that_o the_o two_o thing_n that_o be_v here_o say_v shall_v come_v upon_o they_o be_v the_o evil_a that_o shall_v come_v upon_o they_o by_o their_o enemy_n from_o without_o comprehend_v in_o those_o word_n desolation_n and_o destruction_n and_o the_o famine_n and_o the_o sword_n the_o other_o from_o within_o namely_o that_o they_o shall_v have_v none_o among_o themselves_o that_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o help_v advise_v or_o comfort_v they_o employ_v in_o those_o question_n who_o shall_v be_v sorry_a for_o thou_o and_o afterward_o in_o the_o close_a of_o the_o verse_n by_o who_o shall_v i_o comfort_v thou_o as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v alas_o there_o be_v none_o to_o comfort_v thou_o see_v the_o note_n before_o ver_fw-la 18._o and_o this_o we_o find_v often_o mention_v in_o jeremiah_n lamentation_n as_o chap._n 1.2_o among_o all_o her_o lover_n she_o have_v none_o to_o comfort_v she_o and_o ver_fw-la 21._o they_o have_v hear_v that_o i_o sigh_v there_o be_v none_o to_o comfort_v i_o yet_o i_o know_v by_o some_o these_o last_o word_n be_v otherwise_o expound_v by_o who_o shall_v i_o comfort_v thou_o that_o be_v by_o who_o example_n that_o have_v be_v in_o the_o and_o indeed_o we_o find_v a_o like_a expression_n use_v to_o set_v forth_o jerusalem_n calamity_n lam._n 2.13_o what_o thing_n shall_v i_o take_v to_o witness_v for_o thou_o what_o thing_n shall_v i_o liken_v to_o thou_o o_o daughter_n of_o jerusalem_n what_o shall_v i_o equal_v to_o thou_o that_o i_o may_v comfort_v thou_o ver._n 20._o thy_o son_n have_v faint_v etc._n etc._n to_o wit_n through_o extremity_n of_o grief_n or_o as_o be_v in_o a_o manner_n starve_v and_o so_o instead_o of_o be_v able_a to_o uphold_v and_o comfort_v thou_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o perish_v themselves_o they_o lie_v at_o the_o head_n of_o all_o the_o street_n that_o be_v all_o the_o city_n over_o they_o lie_v in_o the_o entrance_n of_o the_o street_n they_o lie_v languish_v as_o be_v houseless_a and_o harbourless_o quite_o famish_v in_o a_o manner_n and_o so_o not_o able_a to_o stand_v or_o go_v some_o i_o know_v understand_v this_o of_o the_o multitude_n of_o carcase_n of_o man_n slay_v or_o famish_a that_o lie_v scatter_v about_o the_o street_n unbury_v but_o that_o agree_v not_o with_o the_o follow_a similitude_n as_o a_o wild_a bull_n in_o a_o net_n that_o be_v fret_v and_o afflict_v themselves_o but_o no_o way_n able_a to_o help_v themselves_o no_o not_o those_o that_o have_v former_o be_v of_o great_a power_n and_o strength_n no_o more_o than_o a_o wild_a bull_n can_v do_v when_o he_o be_v once_o take_v in_o the_o huntsman_n net_n though_o he_o fume_v and_o toil_v himself_o with_o strive_v and_o tumble_v about_o never_o so_o much_o they_o be_v full_a of_o the_o fury_n of_o the_o lord_n the_o rebuke_n of_o thy_o god_n that_o be_v full_a of_o the_o calamity_n and_o misery_n that_o vexation_n and_o anguish_n which_o god_n in_o his_o just_a wrath_n have_v bring_v upon_o they_o but_o in_o this_o expression_n there_o be_v a_o allusion_n also_o to_o that_o cup_n of_o fury_n mention_v before_o ver_fw-la 17._o whereof_o god_n have_v cause_v they_o to_o drink_v ver._n 21._o therefore_o etc._n etc._n because_o thy_o misery_n be_v so_o great_a and_o thou_o have_v suffer_v what_o i_o allot_v for_o thy_o portion_n hear_v now_o thou_o afflict_a and_o drunken_a but_o not_o with_o wine_n to_o wit_n as_o former_o thou_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v but_o with_o the_o cup_n of_o god_n fury_n ver_fw-la 17._o and_o indeed_o these_o expression_n of_o love_n and_o pity_n do_v clear_o show_v that_o the_o drift_n of_o all_o that_o go_v before_o be_v the_o comfort_v of_o god_n people_n ver._n 22._o thus_o say_v thy_o lord_n the_o lord_n and_o thy_o god_n that_o plead_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o people_n etc._n etc._n see_v the_o note_n 1_o sam._n 25.39_o behold_v i_o have_v take_v out_o of_o thy_o hand_n the_o cup_n of_o tremble_a even_o the_o dregs_o of_o the_o cup_n of_o my_o fury_n see_v the_o note_n above_o ver_fw-la 17._o thou_o shall_v no_o more_o drink_v it_o again_o that_o be_v thou_o shall_v no_o long_o drink_v of_o that_o cup_n the_o babylonian_n this_o promise_n be_v extend_v as_o it_o be_v by_o some_o to_o the_o church_n of_o the_o jew_n after_o their_o ruin_n by_o the_o roman_n it_o must_v be_v understand_v of_o that_o remnant_n of_o they_o that_o embrace_v the_o christian_a faith_n for_o the_o rest_n of_o they_o be_v then_o cast_v off_o from_o be_v god_n church_n and_o of_o this_o remnant_n this_o promise_n shall_v for_o ever_o hold_v good_a that_o they_o shall_v no_o more_o be_v destroy_v and_o cast_v off_o from_o be_v god_n people_n as_o the_o generality_n of_o the_o jewish_a church_n be_v ver._n 23._o but_o i_o will_v put_v it_o into_o the_o hand_n of_o they_o that_o afflict_v thou_o etc._n etc._n that_o be_v the_o misery_n which_o they_o bring_v upon_o thou_o other_o shall_v bring_v upon_o they_o which_o have_v say_v to_o
