god_n for_o it_o be_v not_o the_o place_n of_o a_o civil_a magistrate_n to_o meddle_v or_o have_v to_o do_v with_o those_o thing_n but_o leave_v they_o free_a in_o those_o thing_n to_o do_v as_o they_o be_v persuade_v in_o their_o own_o conscience_n by_o the_o light_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o you_o can_v give_v a_o account_n unto_o god_n for_o they_o if_o they_o do_v consider_v it_o and_o take_v a_o inspection_n into_o it_o and_o let_v i_o tell_v the_o king_n and_o his_o council_n this_o by_o the_o way_n together_o with_o the_o rest_n of_o thy_o ruler_n oh_o england_n that_o if_o they_o harken_v to_o the_o counsel_n of_o these_o self-seeking_a and_o time_n servingman_n who_o be_v wander_v star_n and_o cloud_n drive_v with_o tempest_n as_o afore_o be_v declare_v i_o say_v if_o they_o follow_v these_o blind_a guide_n and_o hearken_v to_o their_o counsel_n so_o as_o to_o be_v sway_v by_o they_o and_o become_v their_o vassal_n to_o fulfil_v their_o bloodthirsty_a desire_n in_o prosecute_a banish_v and_o make_v havoc_n of_o the_o people_n of_o god_n then_o in_o the_o end_n they_o will_v certain_o fall_v into_o the_o ditch_n of_o everlasting_a prophet_n of_o the_o lord_n have_v be_v among_o they_o wherefore_o oh_o nation_n and_o you_o inhabitant_n thereof_o let_v my_o counsel_n be_v acceptable_a unto_o you_o at_o this_o time_n that_o if_o possible_a so_o many_o of_o you_o who_o have_v not_o quite_o sin_v out_o your_o day_n and_o have_v yet_o any_o tenderness_n of_o heart_n leave_v in_o you_o towards_o god_n may_v come_v to_o find_v a_o they_o also_o may_v receive_v the_o manifestation_n and_o knowledge_n thereof_o for_o want_v of_o which_o many_o perish_v and_o be_v stranger_n to_o the_o way_n of_o life_n have_v only_o at_o best_o a_o form_n of_o godliness_n without_o the_o power_n in_o which_o dead_a form_n or_o outside_n empty_a profession_n some_o be_v at_o ease_n and_o rest_n as_o though_o they_o be_v in_o the_o true_a heaven_n that_o shall_v never_o pass_v away_o and_o some_o be_v at_o rest_n and_o at_o ease_n without_o any_o profession_n live_v in_o all_o uncleanness_n unrighteousness_n and_o abomination_n and_o some_o can_v find_v rest_n in_o either_o the_o faithful_a and_o true_a witness_n of_o god_n be_v awaken_v in_o their_o heart_n and_o conscience_n which_o take_v the_o false_a peace_n from_o they_o and_o let_v they_o see_v the_o emptiness_n of_o all_o outside_n profession_n which_o be_v without_o life_n and_o power_n and_o also_o the_o abomination_n and_o vanity_n of_o the_o world_n and_o make_v sin_n exceed_v sinful_a to_o they_o and_o by_o this_o true_a and_o faithful_a witness_n be_v desire_n and_o breathe_n and_o pant_n beget_v in_o their_o heart_n after_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o christ_n after_o fellowship_n and_o acquaintance_n with_o the_o father_n and_o the_o son_n which_o desire_n can_v be_v satisfy_v without_o the_o knowledge_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o of_o the_o light_n of_o his_o countenance_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n many_o run_v to_o and_o fro_o and_o wander_v like_o sheep_n go_v astray_o from_o the_o true_a shepherd_n fold_v and_o be_v weary_v themselves_o upon_o the_o barren_a mountain_n in_o vain_a look_v thereunto_o for_o salvation_n and_o seek_v the_o live_n among_o the_o dead_a and_o so_o spend_v their_o labour_n for_o that_o which_o do_v not_o satisfy_v and_o in_o these_o several_a state_n and_o condition_n aforesaid_a the_o whole_a christian_a world_n lie_v who_o be_v not_o turn_v to_o the_o light_n and_o spirit_n of_o jesus_n in_o themselves_o and_o true_a rest_n and_o salvation_n can_v be_v find_v by_o they_o until_o they_o return_v to_o the_o light_n and_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o their_o own_o heart_n which_o be_v that_o whereby_o a_o dislike_n of_o sin_n be_v beget_v in_o they_o and_o also_o desire_v after_o life_n and_o salvation_n and_o freedom_n from_o sin_n be_v thereby_o beget_v and_o that_o be_v it_o alone_o which_o can_v answer_v every_o desire_n which_o be_v beget_v by_o its_o self_n well_o but_o when_o it_o please_v the_o lord_n to_o reveal_v the_o son_n of_o his_o love_n and_o to_o make_v know_v his_o eternal_a power_n in_o these_o latter_a day_n for_o the_o rend_n of_o the_o veil_n of_o darkness_n that_o have_v long_o be_v over_o the_o to_o turn_v many_o from_o darkness_n to_o the_o light_n that_o the_o salvation_n of_o god_n they_o may_v come_v to_o see_v and_o the_o work_n of_o god_n great_o prosper_v in_o their_o hand_n and_o multitude_n be_v bring_v to_o the_o acknowledgement_n of_o the_o truth_n to_o the_o save_n of_o their_o soul_n and_o though_o they_o meet_v with_o great_a opposition_n and_o persecution_n by_o the_o emissary_n of_o satan_n even_o in_o all_o quarter_n where_o they_o come_v yet_o that_o be_v not_o prevalent_a to_o hinder_v the_o prosperity_n of_o that_o work_n whereunto_o they_o be_v call_v of_o god_n but_o it_o still_o prosper_v and_o do_v still_o prosper_v to_o the_o spread_a of_o the_o unchangeable_a truth_n abroad_o even_o as_o be_v see_v at_o this_o day_n and_o of_o this_o number_n who_o god_n almighty_a at_o the_o first_o raise_v up_o by_o his_o power_n for_o this_o work_n aforesaid_a the_o late_a decease_a richard_n farnsworth_n be_v one_o concern_v who_o the_o chief_a occasion_n of_o this_o my_o present_a writing_n be_v that_o so_o a_o testimony_n concern_v he_o and_o of_o what_o the_o lord_n do_v by_o and_o through_o he_o may_v remain_v upon_o record_n for_o generation_n to_o come_v and_o that_o this_o present_a generation_n of_o the_o just_a may_v see_v and_o hear_v his_o last_o testimony_n which_o proceed_v from_o his_o own_o mouth_n a_o little_a before_o his_o notwithstanding_o all_o these_o thing_n be_v in_o my_o mind_n and_o divers_a other_o consideration_n which_o occasion_v i_o to_o defer_v the_o publication_n hereof_o so_o long_o as_o till_o now_o foot_n to_o the_o lame_a and_o the_o eye_n that_o true_o see_v he_o bless_v he_o and_o the_o ear_n that_o hear_v he_o give_v witness_n unto_o he_o for_o through_o the_o power_n of_o god_n which_o enable_v he_o he_o deliver_v the_o poor_a and_o the_o needy_a and_o build_v up_o many_o that_o believe_v in_o their_o most_o precious_a faith_n and_o confirm_v they_o therein_o and_o go_v about_o from_o place_n to_o place_n through_o the_o land_n of_o his_o nativity_n turn_v many_o from_o darkness_n to_o light_n and_o confirm_v the_o church_n and_o do_v good_a and_o his_o service_n be_v very_o great_a for_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o day_n for_o he_o be_v so_o furnish_v with_o heavenly_a wisdom_n and_o understanding_n through_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o also_o so_o season_v thereby_o that_o his_o patience_n meekness_n and_o humility_n exceed_v many_o and_o although_o god_n have_v so_o endue_v he_o with_o heavenly_a virtue_n and_o ability_n exceed_v many_o yet_o be_v he_o not_o puff_v up_o therewith_o neither_o seek_v to_o exercise_v lordship_n over_o those_o that_o be_v weak_a and_o young_a than_o himself_o but_o give_v place_n unto_o any_o that_o have_v the_o least_o withal_o so_o he_o be_v always_o furnish_v with_o armour_n and_o weapon_n fit_a for_o the_o work_n and_o service_n in_o which_o he_o be_v exercise_v by_o which_o he_o be_v enable_v to_o encounter_v with_o and_o conquer_v all_o but_o at_o last_o that_o his_o armour_n and_o weapon_n may_v be_v prove_v to_o be_v sufficient_a to_o encounter_v with_o the_o enemy_n of_o truth_n in_o all_o kind_n of_o appearance_n and_o transformation_n it_o be_v his_o lot_n with_o i_o and_o divers_a other_o of_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o be_v engage_v against_o the_o enemy_n of_o truth_n who_o have_v transform_v himself_o into_o the_o likeness_n of_o a_o angel_n of_o light_n and_o under_o a_o seem_a pretence_n of_o appear_v on_o the_o behalf_n of_o god_n and_o his_o cause_n etc._n etc._n and_o against_o formality_n and_o tradition_n begin_v strong_o to_o oppose_v the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o the_o ministry_n thereof_o in_o and_o through_o his_o servant_n and_o messenger_n who_o have_v approve_v themselves_o as_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n and_o as_o his_o ambassador_n and_o to_o cry_v against_o our_o assembly_n and_o manner_n of_o worship_n and_o our_o exercise_n therein_o as_o be_v witness_n of_o it_o and_o how_o in_o love_n we_o labour_v for_o the_o restoration_n of_o those_o who_o be_v beguile_v through_o the_o craft_n of_o the_o enemy_n and_o for_o the_o preservation_n of_o those_o who_o hitherto_o have_v escape_v his_o snare_n that_o be_v well_o know_v to_o many_o witness_n but_o if_o none_o be_v sensible_a of_o it_o the_o lord_n he_o know_v and_o be_v witness_n towards_o who_o we_o be_v so_o in_o love_n exercise_v can_v not_o believe_v but_o some_o withstand_v our_o testimony_n and_o kick_v against_o it_o in_o their_o heart_n and_o resist_v the_o counsel_n brother_n r._n f._n that_o his_o travel_n burden_n and_o grievous_a suffering_n may_v be_v put_v to_o a_o end_n and_o that_o our_o testimony_n for_o the_o lord_n may_v be_v seal_v with_o the_o life_n of_o his_o servant_n against_o that_o antichristian_a intrude_a spirit_n of_o opposition_n which_o labour_v to_o intrude_v its_o self_n into_o the_o church_n to_o sit_v as_o ruler_n and_o judge_n there_o i_o say_v for_o these_o cause_n and_o for_o none_o contrary_a hereunto_o it_o please_v god_n to_o visit_v my_o dear_a brother_n r._n f._n and_o to_o take_v he_o out_o of_o the_o body_n at_o with_o as_o much_o strength_n power_n and_o freeness_n of_o spirit_n as_o at_o any_o time_n he_o have_v do_v in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o outward_a health_n who_o word_n be_v as_o follow_v friend_n god_n have_v be_v mighty_o with_o i_o and_o have_v stand_v by_o i_o at_o this_o time_n and_o his_o power_n and_o presence_n have_v accompany_v i_o all_o along_o though_o some_o think_v that_o i_o be_o under_o a_o cloud_n for_o something_o but_o god_n have_v appear_v for_o the_o own_n of_o our_o testimony_n and_o have_v break_v in_o upon_o i_o as_o a_o flood_n and_o i_o be_o fill_v with_o his_o love_n more_o than_o i_o be_o able_a to_o express_v and_o god_n be_v real_o appear_v for_o we_o if_o god_n himself_o have_v come_v down_o and_o speak_v as_o a_o man_n he_o can_v not_o have_v speak_v more_o clear_a to_o we_o than_o he_o have_v do_v by_o the_o many_o testimony_n from_o heaven_n in_o his_o people_n concern_v this_o thing_n therefore_o i_o beseech_v you_o friend_n here_o of_o this_o city_n of_o london_n whether_o i_o live_v or_o die_v be_v you_o faithful_a to_o your_o testimony_n which_o god_n have_v commit_v to_o you_o and_o as_o it_o arise_v in_o your_o heart_n be_v faithful_a to_o the_o lord_n therein_o after_o which_o he_o be_v silent_a for_o a_o little_a season_n and_o then_o his_o mouth_n be_v again_o open_v in_o the_o name_n and_o power_n of_o the_o lord_n even_o as_o before_o and_o he_o speak_v very_o precious_o unto_o friend_n concern_v the_o thing_n before_o mention_v testify_v of_o the_o greatness_n of_o the_o love_n and_o power_n of_o god_n of_o which_o he_o be_v make_v partaker_n and_o which_o he_o then_o feel_v and_o of_o the_o preciousness_n of_o the_o truth_n which_o he_o have_v with_o we_o bear_a witness_n of_o and_o exhort_v they_o to_o faithfulness_n and_o steadfastness_n therein_o and_o to_o singleness_n that_o nothing_o may_v be_v suffer_v to_o creep_v in_o of_o another_o nature_n to_o intermix_v therewith_o say_v no_o nor_o yet_o any_o that_o deny_v the_o second_o to_o be_v in_o force_n so_o that_o j.n._n have_v busy_v himself_o to_o no_o purpose_n as_o i_o say_v before_o like_o one_o beat_v of_o the_o air_n but_o i_o do_v not_o intend_v so_o to_o busy_v myself_o to_o contend_v against_o he_o about_o thing_n in_o which_o i_o be_o not_o concern_v for_o as_o i_o say_v i_o own_v no_o other_o covenant_n nor_o testament_n way_n but_o the_o second_o covenant_n which_o god_n promise_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o prophet_n say_v jer._n 31.33_o this_o shall_v be_v the_o covenant_n that_o i_o will_v make_v etc._n etc._n i_o will_v put_v my_o law_n in_o their_o inward_a part_n and_o write_v it_o in_o their_o heart_n and_o will_v be_v their_o god_n and_o they_o shall_v be_v my_o people_n and_o they_o
