have_v many_o excellent_a effect_n in_o your_o life_n as_o when_o a_o man_n believe_v this_o thorough_o he_o will_v take_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o scripture_n against_o his_o own_o fancy_n and_o the_o opinion_n of_o man_n with_o which_o we_o be_v still_o ready_a to_o be_v mislead_v so_o that_o when_o the_o scripture_n say_v of_o riches_n that_o they_o be_v nothing_o whereas_o before_o thou_o think_v they_o to_o be_v a_o strong_a tower_n now_o you_o think_v they_o to_o be_v but_o a_o staff_n of_o reed_n so_o of_o sinful_a lust_n that_o be_v so_o pleasant_a to_o we_o the_o scripture_n say_v of_o they_o that_o they_o fight_v against_o the_o soul_n though_o they_o be_v sweet_a for_o the_o present_a yet_o they_o be_v sour_a in_o the_o latter_a end_n so_o that_o thou_o take_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o scripture_n against_o thy_o own_o reason_n so_o for_o the_o praise_n of_o man_n see_v what_o the_o scripture_n say_v he_o be_v praiseworthy_a who_o god_n praise_v so_o thou_o judge_v vainglory_n to_o be_v but_o a_o bubble_n i_o say_v if_o you_o can_v believe_v this_o thorough_o you_o will_v set_v the_o judgement_n of_o the_o scripture_n against_o your_o own_o reason_n save_v and_o what_o ground_n for_o it_o he_o will_v be_v ready_a to_o say_v i_o know_v that_o christ_n be_v come_v into_o the_o world_n and_o that_o he_o be_v offer_v and_o i_o know_v that_o i_o be_o one_o of_o they_o that_o have_v a_o part_n in_o he_o i_o know_v that_o i_o have_v fulfil_v the_o condition_n as_o that_o i_o shall_v not_o continue_v willing_o in_o any_o know_a sin_n that_o i_o shall_v love_v the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o desire_v to_o serve_v he_o above_o all_o i_o know_v that_o i_o have_v fulfil_v these_o condition_n i_o say_v if_o the_o ground_n whereon_o our_o faith_n be_v principle_n that_o be_v within_o and_o he_o know_v what_o they_o will_v do_v when_o occasion_n be_v offer_v and_o therefore_o say_v david_n i_o have_v cause_n to_o fear_v exceed_o before_o he_o nay_o he_o do_v not_o only_o see_v man_n thought_n afar_o off_o but_o he_o will_v judge_v you_o afar_o off_o for_o they_o we_o use_v to_o destroy_v hemlock_n even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o winter_n because_o we_o know_v what_o it_o will_v do_v if_o it_o be_v suffer_v to_o grow_v so_o the_o lord_n do_v cut_v off_o man_n long_o before_o because_o he_o know_v that_o they_o will_v do_v this_o and_o this_o such_o passage_n of_o his_o providence_n there_o may_v be_v as_o to_o cut_v off_o child_n and_o young_a man_n out_o of_o the_o foresight_n of_o the_o evil_a that_o they_o will_v do_v to_o his_o church_n because_o he_o know_v their_o thought_n afar_o off_o so_o he_o know_v thy_o thought_n for_o good_a afar_o off_o therefore_o though_o a_o child_n of_o god_n may_v be_v cut_v off_o in_o some_o undiscovered_a sin_n when_o he_o have_v not_o actual_o repent_v yet_o god_n forgive_v it_o he_o because_o he_o know_v what_o he_o will_v do_v if_o he_o have_v time_n to_o repent_v and_o shall_v come_v to_o discover_v it_o and_o therefore_o god_n judge_v he_o according_o and_o likewise_o if_o we_o have_v begin_v any_o good_a work_n if_o we_o be_v cut_v off_o before_o we_o have_v finish_v it_o yet_o remember_v that_o god_n know_v what_o we_o will_v do_v and_o see_v he_o do_v this_o we_o shall_v learn_v exceed_o to_o fear_v before_o he_o to_o ponder_v our_o own_o thought_n and_o speech_n see_v god_n himself_o take_v notice_n for_n they_o so_o it_o shall_v be_v a_o continual_a encouragement_n to_o consider_v that_o god_n take_v notice_n of_o all_o the_o good_a that_o we_o do_v as_o well_o as_o of_o the_o evil_a rev._n 2._o and_o 3._o i_o know_v thy_o work_n thy_o labour_n and_o thy_o patience_n i_o know_v thy_o suffering_n that_o be_v when_o a_o man_n be_v miscall_v slander_v and_o evil_a speak_v of_o because_o he_o serve_v and_o fear_v god_n because_o he_o be_v none_o of_o the_o world_n own_o and_o therefore_o it_o show_v forth_o its_o hatred_n in_o word_n when_o it_o can_v in_o deed_n for_o malice_n must_v have_v some_o vent_n yet_o i_o know_v thy_o suffering_n and_o let_v it_o be_v enough_o that_o i_o know_v they_o and_o register_v they_o there_o be_v not_o the_o least_o suffer_v but_o i_o take_v notice_n of_o it_o and_o it_o shall_v be_v reward_v again_o man_n take_v much_o pain_n and_o no_o man_n regard_v it_o yet_o god_n take_v notice_n of_o their_o labour_n and_o their_o pain_n and_o not_o of_o their_o work_n only_o but_o their_o labour_n in_o do_v they_o and_o see_v what_o end_v they_o put_v upon_o all_o again_o man_n put_v up_o injury_n and_o suffer_v much_o wrong_n yet_o say_v the_o lord_n i_o know_v thy_o patience_n etc._n etc._n what_o be_v say_v of_o this_o may_v be_v say_v of_o all_o other_o good_a action_n and_o it_o be_v a_o great_a honour_n to_o the_o lord_n that_o we_o be_v content_a with_o this_o that_o he_o alone_o know_v it_o and_o so_o we_o may_v be_v well_o enough_o for_o his_o knowledge_n will_v bring_v in_o a_o sure_a fruit_n with_o it_o as_o he_o say_v to_o jacob_n gen._n 31._o i_o know_v all_o the_o labour_n thou_o have_v do_v unto_o i_o and_o what_o follow_v that_o why_o god_n teach_v jacob_n how_o to_o his_o battle_n and_o what_o we_o do_v for_o he_o it_o shall_v encourage_v we_o and_o make_v we_o abundant_a in_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n see_v we_o know_v that_o our_o labour_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a in_o the_o lord._n nay_o it_o be_v a_o encouragement_n against_o the_o discouragement_n of_o man_n thou_o may_v have_v discouragement_n from_o friend_n from_o neighbour_n and_o the_o place_n where_o thou_o live_v yet_o let_v this_o be_v thy_o comfort_n the_o lord_n be_v present_a he_o know_v thy_o dwell_n thy_o neighbour_n who_o be_v for_o thou_o and_o who_o against_o thou_o he_o know_v the_o difficulty_n thou_o meet_v with_o any_o performance_n he_o know_v what_o hindrance_n thou_o have_v as_o it_o be_v there_o in_o the_o verse_n 13._o i_o know_v thy_o work_n and_o where_o thou_o
