god_n witness_v and_o truth_n in_o the_o conscience_n and_o that_o such_o will_v meet_v with_o a_o tender_a reception_n and_o not_o opposition_n in_o all_o tender_a and_o upright_a heart_n where_o be_v now_o the_o seem_a contradiction_n in_o this_o to_o the_o precedent_a passage_n see_v what_o observation_n our_o opposer_n make_v upon_o they_o he_o observe_v that_o the_o penman_n seem_v thereby_o to_o look_v three_o way_n at_o once_o p._n 36._o though_o his_o sight_n and_o observation_n have_v great_o fail_v he_o herein_o as_o first_o in_o commend_v thing_n necessary_a for_o good_a order_n and_o holiness_n of_o conversation_n not_o as_o matter_n of_o indifferency_n to_o this_o w._n r._n thus_o say_v viz._n wherein_o i_o take_v the_o true_a sense_n of_o his_o mind_n to_o be_v and_o that_o the_o first_o citation_n import_v his_o readiness_n to_o condescend_v be_v to_o cover_v himself_o and_o other_o from_o the_o guilt_n of_o apostasy_n and_o innovation_n he_o be_v mistake_v in_o his_o observation_n here_o there_o be_v no_o such_o intent_n nor_o necessity_n for_o the_o penman_n to_o cover_v himself_o or_o other_o from_o that_o guilt_n for_o to_o commend_v thing_n necessary_a for_o good_a order_n and_o holiness_n of_o conversation_n not_o as_o indifferent_a but_o essential_a to_o such_o order_n etc._n etc._n and_o a_o condescension_n in_o circumstance_n and_o accommodate_v matter_n so_o as_o not_o to_o divide_v etc._n etc._n may_v very_o well_o stand_v together_o especial_o where_o there_o be_v unity_n of_o spirit_n and_o affection_n for_o if_o there_o be_v true_a love_n and_o unity_n in_o the_o great_a matter_n essential_a to_o good_a order_n etc._n etc._n it_o be_v more_o easy_a for_o such_o as_o be_v tender_a and_o upright-hearted_n to_o find_v out_o accommodation_n and_o concurrence_n in_o lesser_a circumstance_n so_o that_o still_o it_o be_v to_o be_v understand_v they_o must_v settle_v in_o a_o union_n and_o concurrence_n at_o last_o otherwise_o how_o shall_v they_o joint_o do_v business_n or_o service_n for_o the_o truth_n or_o each_o other_o there_o be_v no_o concurrence_n nor_o joynt-service_n where_o there_o be_v confusion_n and_o contradiction_n but_o w._n r._n proceed_v in_o his_o observation_n against_o the_o penman_n viz._n two_o by_o his_o readiness_n to_o condescend_v to_o his_o brethren_n which_o doubtless_o in_o that_o place_n he_o intend_v such_o as_o be_v upright_o heart_v and_o mean_v well_o for_o it_o be_v not_o fit_a to_o condescend_v to_o other_o and_o therein_o the_o indifferency_n before_o exclude_v be_v employ_v he_o be_v mistake_v again_o in_o his_o observation_n for_o there_o may_v be_v a_o tender_a and_o christian_a condescension_n of_o the_o upright_o heart_a among_o themselves_o in_o two_o respect_n 1_o sy_n in_o the_o strong_a bearing_n with_o and_o help_v the_o weak_a bear_v the_o burden_n of_o the_o weak_a and_o not_o lay_v more_o upon_o the_o weak_a than_o what_o they_o be_v able_a to_o bear_v 2_o dly_z in_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n find_v out_o such_o accommodation_n in_o some_o lesser_a matter_n &_o circumstance_n not_o so_o essential_a and_o indispensible_a so_o that_o there_o may_v be_v a_o general_a concurrence_n ease_n and_o peace_n of_o spirit_n in_o such_o lesser_a circumstance_n imply_v or_o include_v that_o indifferency_n before_o which_o be_v exclude_v the_o great_a more_o weighty_a and_o necessary_a thing_n relate_v to_o good_a order_n holiness_n of_o life_n etc._n etc._n for_o there_o may_v be_v such_o a_o indifferency_n in_o some_o circumstance_n wherein_o we_o may_v condescend_v to_o weak_a brethren_n so_o far_o as_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n will_v admit_v they_o be_v such_o as_o may_v not_o alter_v the_o property_n from_o be_v good_a and_o lawful_a nor_o disturb_v to_o our_o christian-society_n yet_o there_o be_v other_o material_a thing_n and_o circumstance_n relate_v our_o christian_a society_n good_a order_n and_o holy_a live_n that_o can_v be_v make_v indifferent_a and_o we_o plead_v not_o at_o all_o for_o empty_a ceremony_n in_o church_n order_n or_o discipline_n but_o such_o as_o have_v a_o real_a service_n and_o good_a end_n in_o they_o nor_o be_v we_o for_o a_o church_n who_o ornament_n be_v superstitious_a but_o for_o a_o church_n which_o be_v grave_o and_o pure_o adorn_v with_o righteousness_n the_o fruit_n and_o service_n of_o pure_a religion_n i_o confess_v w._n r._n have_v write_v one_o remarkable_a truth_n i._n e._n that_o it_o be_v not_o fit_a to_o condescend_v to_o other_o viz._n that_o be_v not_o upright_o heart_v that_o do_v not_o mean_v well_o very_o true_a and_o we_o have_v cause_n to_o keep_v to_o that_o doctrine_n in_o reference_n to_o such_o as_o be_v turbulent_a and_o contentious_a troubler_n of_o and_o scandalous_a to_o our_o society_n and_o profession_n see_v his_o three_o observation_n on_o the_o same_o subject_n before_o as_o shallow_a as_o the_o rest_n viz._n three_o by_o the_o penman_n last_o cite_v line_n it_o be_v plain_a that_o in_o his_o sense_n thing_n recommend_v for_o good_a order_n will_v have_v a_o reception_n with_o all_o upright_a heart_n which_o compare_v with_o his_o readiness_n to_o condescend_v etc._n etc._n as_o before_o show_v as_o if_o his_o condescension_n be_v intend_v to_o brethren_n that_o be_v not_o upright_o heart_v here_o his_o sight_n fail_v he_o and_o he_o be_v great_o mistake_v again_o pervert_v the_o penmans_n sense_n for_o though_o i_o affirm_v that_o those_o thing_n recommend_v among_o we_o by_o divine_a 136._o authority_n and_o evidence_n either_o as_o duty_n to_o god_n or_o man_n or_o as_o necessary_a for_o good_a order_n and_o holiness_n of_o conversation_n will_v have_v reception_n with_o all_o upright_a heart_n yet_o it_o follow_v not_o that_o the_o condescension_n be_v intend_v to_o brethren_n that_o be_v not_o upright_o heart_v or_o false_a for_o first_o here_o be_v not_o a_o limitation_n of_o time_n when_o all_o thing_n necessary_a as_o before_o will_v have_v reception_n with_o all_o upright_a heart_n so_o that_o there_o be_v a_o time_n and_o cause_n for_o condescension_n to_o they_o of_o low_a degree_n in_o regard_n of_o their_o weakness_n not_o insincerity_n second_o many_o upright_a one_o
