great_o deceive_v a_o man_n that_o suffer_v a_o thing_n to_o be_v do_v in_o ordinary_a speech_n be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o author_n of_o it_o if_o a_o physician_n will_v not_o give_v physic_n to_o cure_v a_o sick_a man_n if_o he_o die_v of_o his_o sickness_n it_o be_v vulgar_o say_v he_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o death_n if_o the_o owner_n will_v not_o preserve_v a_o ruinous_a house_n from_o fall_v when_o it_o be_v fall_v he_o be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o author_n of_o its_o fall_n so_o here_o god_n be_v say_v to_o deceive_v they_o because_o he_o hinder_v not_o those_o false_a prophet_n from_o deceive_v they_o god_n see_v how_o averse_a they_o be_v to_o truth_n how_o they_o slight_v and_o mock_v his_o prophet_n 2_o chron._n 36.16_o and_o despise_v his_o word_n therefore_o in_o just_a judgement_n he_o give_v they_o up_o to_o believe_v lie_n falsehood_n and_o deceivable_a thing_n 1._o obser_n 1._o that_o false_a prophet_n &_o teacher_n seduce_v the_o people_n feed_v they_o with_o vain_a hop_n they_o cry_v peace_n peace_n all_o thing_n shall_v be_v prosperous_a comfortable_a we_o shall_v have_v no_o war_n in_o our_o gate_n no_o famine_n or_o plague_n in_o our_o city_n they_o give_v out_o laeta_fw-la vaticinia_fw-la and_o so_o beguile_v the_o unstable_a and_o credulous_a people_n and_o swell_v they_o with_o vast_a hope_n they_o hope_v to_o see_v their_o brethren_n return_v from_o babylon_n to_o buy_v and_o sell_v to_o marry_v and_o build_v to_o grow_v great_a and_o see_v many_o good_a day_n the_o false_a prophet_n fill_v ahab_n with_o great_a hope_n of_o victory_n at_o ramoth_n gilead_n go_v up_o and_o prosper_v say_v they_o for_o the_o lord_n shall_v deliver_v it_o into_o the_o king_n hand_n 1_o king_n 22.12_o these_o prophet_n beget_v and_o maintain_v hope_n in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o people_n they_o make_v they_o trust_v in_o the_o temple_n and_o corrupt_a worship_n be_v in_o it_o therefore_o jer._n 7.4_o jeremiah_n send_v to_o command_v they_o not_o to_o trust_v in_o lie_v word_n say_v the_o temple_n of_o the_o lord_n etc._n etc._n what_o ever_o wickedness_n they_o commit_v yet_o if_o they_o appear_v in_o the_o temple_n and_o stand_v before_o the_o lord_n they_o say_v they_o be_v deliver_v no_o threaten_n of_o jeremiah_n or_o other_o shall_v take_v hold_n of_o they_o they_o make_v they_o trust_v in_o their_o strong_a hold_n and_o look_v to_o the_o hill_n and_o mountain_n about_o they_o therefore_o jer._n 3.23_o he_o tell_v they_o that_o in_o vain_a they_o hope_v for_o salvation_n from_o the_o hill_n and_o from_o the_o multitude_n of_o mountain_n they_o think_v because_o jerusalem_n be_v so_o well_o fortify_v with_o high_a hill_n and_o great_a mountain_n that_o it_o can_v not_o be_v take_v jer._n 21.13_o who_o shall_v come_v down_o against_o we_o or_o who_o shall_v enter_v into_o our_o habitation_n lie_n so_o jer._n 29.31_o shemaiah_n cause_v they_o to_o trust_v in_o a_o lie_n &_o chap._n 49.4_o jerusalem_n say_v who_o shall_v come_v unto_o i_o hananiah_n a_o false_a prophet_n tell_v the_o people_n that_o within_o the_o space_n of_o two_o full_a year_n nebuchadnezar_n yoke_n shall_v be_v break_v from_o off_o the_o neck_n of_o all_o nation_n jer._n 28.11_o &_o vers_fw-la 15._o jeremiah_n say_v he_o make_v the_o people_n trust_v in_o a_o lie_n 2._o it_o be_v a_o clear_a argument_n of_o a_o blind_a and_o false_a teacher_n to_o speak_v thing_n answerable_a to_o the_o humour_n and_o corruption_n of_o man_n this_o people_n can_v not_o endure_v jeremiah_n prophesy_v truth_n threaten_v judgement_n against_o they_o for_o their_o sin_n see_v jer._n 38_o 2.3.4_o 5._o they_o desire_v to_o hear_v of_o please_a thing_n it_o be_v good_a tiding_n to_o they_o to_o hear_v that_o nabuchadnezzar_n shall_v not_o come_v against_o they_o nor_o make_v they_o tributary_n unto_o he_o therefore_o the_o prophet_n prophesy_v it_o jer._n 27.14_o they_o tell_v they_o they_o shall_v not_o serve_v the_o king_n of_o babylon_n it_o be_v please_v to_o they_o to_o hear_v of_o bring_v back_o again_o the_o vessel_n of_o the_o temple_n and_o verse_n 16._o these_o prophet_n prophesy_v say_v behold_v the_o vessel_n of_o the_o lord_n house_n shall_v now_o short_o be_v bring_v again_o from_o babylon_n wherein_o can_v they_o have_v humour_v these_o people_n more_o you_o have_v a_o notable_a place_n in_o the_o 23._o of_o jer._n 16.17_o the_o prophet_n that_o prophesy_v unto_o you_o make_v you_o vain_a they_o speak_v a_o vision_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n and_o not_o out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o the_o lord_n now_o that_o come_v not_o from_o god_n holy_a mouth_n but_o man_n carnal_a heart_n will_v
