therefore_o he_o do_v it_o even_o with_o all_o his_o might_n there_o be_v some_o in_o the_o world_n that_o make_v a_o fair_a show_n before_o man_n and_o in_o the_o mean_a time_n they_o care_v not_o what_o they_o be_v in_o secret_a zealous_a before_o the_o world_n jehu_n like_v come_v and_o see_v my_o zeal_n but_o cold_a and_o remiss_a in_o secret_a and_o so_o will_v give_v fair_a word_n before_o man_n good_a word_n when_o there_o be_v witness_n but_o when_o they_o be_v in_o secret_a and_o in_o private_a in_o their_o family_n and_o the_o like_a they_o care_v not_o what_o rage_n they_o go_v in_o and_o how_o they_o play_v the_o tyrant_n but_o now_o he_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n be_v as_o careful_a of_o his_o duty_n in_o private_a as_o in_o public_a if_o it_o be_v his_o duty_n to_o give_v alm_n he_o will_v give_v as_o much_o where_o there_o be_v no_o witness_n to_o take_v notice_n as_o if_o there_o be_v a_o thousand_o eye_n before_o he_o as_o before_o god_n and_o his_o own_o soul_n he_o dare_v not_o be_v remiss_a there_o if_o remissness_n steal_v in_o upon_o he_o it_o be_v his_o burden_n and_o he_o be_v never_o satisfy_v till_o his_o soul_n be_v bring_v into_o such_o a_o frame_n to_o be_v as_o conscientious_a of_o that_o duty_n which_o he_o owe_v to_o god_n in_o secret_a and_o private_a as_o of_o those_o duty_n which_o the_o world_n take_v notice_n of_o 7._o but_o soul_n at_o a_o distance_n from_o god_n i_o say_v it_o desire_v to_o use_v all_o mean_n that_o be_v of_o god_n appointment_n for_o get_v nigh_o unto_o god_n he_o will_v wait_v upon_o god_n in_o every_o ordinance_n and_o administration_n of_o the_o word_n and_o seal_n in_o read_v and_o prayer_n in_o communion_n and_o fellowship_n he_o willing_o neglect_v no_o duty_n they_o be_v the_o go_v and_o climb_v upon_o the_o sycamore_n tree_n as_o zacheus_n do_v he_o will_v climb_v up_o on_o every_o ordinance_n if_o at_o any_o time_n he_o may_v see_v the_o face_n of_o god_n if_o he_o may_v see_v christ_n pass_v by_o for_o his_o satisfaction_n he_o use_v all_o mean_n and_o ordinance_n that_o be_v of_o christ_n institution_n which_o may_v be_v help_n to_o he_o in_o his_o way_n to_o christ_n and_o shun_v all_o occasion_n to_o sin_n all_o provocation_n unto_o lust_n he_o dare_v not_o meddle_v with_o sin_n no_o not_o with_o the_o least_o sin_n he_o know_v that_o sin_n be_v a_o most_o woeful_a deceiver_n if_o he_o have_v but_o the_o least_o countenance_n he_o soon_o wind_n himself_o into_o the_o soul_n and_o it_o be_v hard_a to_o wind_v he_o out_o when_o he_o have_v get_v himself_o in_o he_o know_v that_o there_o be_v a_o woeful_a corrupt_a heart_n within_o and_o that_o its_o natural_a disposition_n be_v like_a to_o dry_a tinder_n and_o be_v ready_a to_o receive_v every_o spark_n of_o temptation_n that_o the_o devil_n be_v like_a to_o strike_v in_o and_o if_o a_o spark_n fall_v in_o how_o soon_o it_o arise_v to_o a_o flame_n and_o how_o hard_o it_o be_v to_o quench_v it_o and_o therefore_o how_o do_v he_o rise_v against_o sin_n and_o the_o occasion_n of_o sin_n he_o be_v afraid_a of_o those_o thing_n which_o other_o man_n count_v nicety_n and_o punctilio_n and_o the_o like_a or_o they_o may_v go_v under_o the_o colour_n of_o lawfulness_n ay_o but_o he_o be_v fearful_a of_o it_o he_o know_v that_o the_o least_o sin_n cost_v blood_n the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n and_o the_o guilt_n of_o the_o least_o transgression_n can_v be_v wash_v away_o without_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n it_o will_v cost_v blood_n to_o wash_v away_o the_o least_o sin_n as_o well_o as_o the_o great_a and_o therefore_o he_o dare_v not_o be_v bold_a to_o meddle_v with_o the_o least_o sin_n but_o he_o shun_v the_o very_a occasion_n and_o provocation_n unto_o sin_n that_o be_v the_o seven_o 8._o eight_o he_o approve_v of_o and_o desire_n to_o walk_v in_o the_o strict_a way_n this_o be_v another_o part_n of_o his_o character_n he_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n approve_v of_o and_o desire_n to_o walk_v in_o the_o strict_a way_n he_o know_v its_o a_o great_a journey_n and_o he_o have_v need_n take_v the_o straight_a line_n he_o be_v willing_a to_o engage_v himself_o in_o the_o strict_a way_n if_o any_o way_n hold_v forth_o more_o of_o god_n and_o christ_n if_o any_o way_n be_v more_o opposite_a to_o flesh_n and_o blood_n if_o any_o way_n be_v a_o further_a engagement_n to_o he_o to_o keep_v close_o to_o god_n and_o bound_v up_o his_o heart_n that_o it_o may_v not_o so_o start_v aside_o he_o be_v willing_a to_o walk_v with_o god_n even_o in_o that_o way_n there_o he_o know_v that_o that_o be_v the_o rule_n be_v you_o perfect_a as_o your_o heavenly_a father_n be_v perfect_a perfection_n be_v in_o his_o eye_n and_o therefore_o he_o know_v he_o can_v never_o be_v be_v too_o strict_a too_o holy_a walk_v too_o close_o with_o god_n get_v too_o nigh_o god_n nor_o do_v too_o much_o for_o god_n this_o he_o lay_v down_o as_o a_o principle_n some_o measure_n of_o holiness_n and_o of_o strictness_n many_o of_o the_o world_n will_v approve_v of_o but_o to_o be_v so_o strict_a be_v to_o be_v too_o imprudent_a in_o their_o account_n but_o i_o say_v he_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n know_v that_o his_o engagement_n be_v such_o as_o
no_o opportunity_n to_o do_v good_a but_o he_o give_v her_o allowance_n to_o share_v with_o he_o and_o to_o take_v comfort_n together_o of_o that_o which_o god_n have_v give_v he_o 6._o again_o sixthly_a and_o last_o he_o will_v maintain_v her_o honour_n in_o the_o family_n and_o therefore_o he_o command_v that_o she_o be_v respect_v he_o will_v not_o suffer_v servant_n nor_o child_n to_o usurp_v authority_n over_o she_o but_o command_v that_o reverence_n be_v show_v and_o submission_n give_v to_o she_o over_o all_o the_o family_n he_o look_v upon_o she_o as_o one_o that_o god_n have_v set_v next_z himself_z to_o be_v the_o next_o light_n of_o the_o family_n and_o therefore_o desire_v that_o she_o may_v share_v and_o be_v respect_v he_o know_v that_o god_n have_v give_v she_o to_o be_v a_o help_n and_o so_o under_o he_o to_o look_v to_o the_o way_n of_o her_o family_n child_n and_o maiden_n and_o therefore_o in_o this_o he_o do_v countenance_v she_o lest_o the_o family_n be_v disorder_v and_o god_n be_v dishonour_v in_o it_o this_o he_o do_v as_o unto_o the_o lord_n and_o for_o his_o sake_n though_o there_o may_v be_v unworthiness_n on_o her_o part_n because_o it_o be_v the_o ordinance_n and_o appointment_n of_o god_n thus_o you_o see_v what_o be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o first_o relation_n of_o husband_n and_o wife_n 2._o but_o second_o the_o second_o relation_n in_o the_o family_n be_v of_o child_n and_o parent_n now_o if_o a_o gracious_a heart_n as_o one_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n be_v such_o in_o either_o of_o these_o relation_n you_o shall_v see_v his_o their_o old_a age_n this_o be_v the_o carriage_n of_o one_o that_o walk_v with_o god_n if_o he_o be_v find_v in_o the_o relation_n of_o a_o child_n but_o for_o the_o relation_n of_o a_o father_n if_o he_o stand_v in_o the_o relation_n of_o a_o parent_n you_o shall_v also_o see_v his_o gracious_a carriage_n 1._o first_o of_o all_o he_o look_v upon_o his_o child_n as_o give_v he_o of_o god_n to_o be_v a_o dishonour_n to_o god_n he_o will_v not_o suffer_v that_o in_o a_o child_n which_o he_o abhor_v in_o another_o which_o he_o will_v reprove_v nay_o it_o may_v be_v punish_v in_o a_o servant_n but_o he_o be_v impartial_a in_o the_o matter_n of_o god_n when_o god_n honour_n be_v concern_v in_o it_o he_o will_v connive_v at_o any_o wickedness_n in_o they_o 3._o three_o and_o on_o the_o other_o side_n he_o be_v careful_a not_o to_o provoke_v they_o to_o wrath_n for_o that_o be_v another_o extreme_a he_o remember_v that_o that_o be_v a_o precept_n father_n provoke_v not_o your_o child_n to_o wrath_n but_o bring_v they_o up_o in_o the_o fear_n and_o nurture_n of_o the_o lord_n he_o desire_v rather_o if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o rule_v they_o by_o love_n than_o by_o fear_n he_o know_v that_o slavish_a fear_n be_v the_o seed_n of_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o evil_n and_o many_o time_n it_o destroy_v ingenuity_n itself_o he_o will_v provoke_v they_o by_o cut_v word_n as_o saul_n do_v his_o son_n jonathan_n in_o the_o first_o of_o samuel_n you_o shall_v see_v what_o cut_v word_n he_o give_v to_o jonathan_n a_o good_a and_o gracious_a son_n 1_o sam._n 20._o 30._o then_o it_o o_o that_o god_n will_v make_v a_o end_n of_o my_o day_n for_o i_o see_v if_o such_o or_o such_o affliction_n come_v upon_o i_o i_o know_v not_o how_o to_o bear_v it_o when_o it_o come_v o_o
