acknowledge_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n towards_o i_o that_o in_o this_o dark_a time_n of_o much_o confusion_n and_o distemper_n he_o have_v cast_v my_o lot_n in_o the_o society_n of_o so_o many_o faithful_a servant_n of_o christ_n who_o company_n example_n counsel_n and_o encouragement_n have_v be_v so_o often_o refreshfull_a and_o edify_a unto_o i_o and_o that_o whatever_o difference_n there_o be_v the_o lord_n have_v keep_v our_o society_n free_a of_o many_o of_o these_o woeful_a and_o scandalous_a distraction_n which_o have_v miserable_o rend_v this_o afflict_a church_n and_o that_o nothing_o end_v it_o but_o her_o utter_a rejection_n at_o least_o for_o a_o time_n for_o such_o be_v the_o issue_n of_o his_o former_a dispensation_n with_o israel_n as_o be_v to_o be_v see_v till_o this_o day_n 4._o the_o capestone_n of_o all_o judgement_n upon_o a_o people_n and_o in_o which_o they_o will_v resolve_v if_o not_o make_v use_n of_o be_v their_o unchurch_a and_o cut_v off_o express_o apply_v both_o to_o jew_n and_o gentile_n rom._n 9.24_o 25_o 26._o and_o to_o the_o scatter_a stranger_n 1_o pet._n 1.1_o with_o 2.10_o that_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n to_o be_v make_v of_o these_o reason_n it_o be_v say_v they_o be_v the_o people_n that_o do_v not_o understand_v 6._o ignorance_n especial_o when_o it_o be_v affect_v will_v not_o excuse_v the_o visible_a church_n her_o decline_a in_o the_o matter_n of_o religion_n but_o that_o she_o be_v ignorant_a as_o well_o as_o her_o idolatry_n which_o she_o will_v excuse_v by_o it_o will_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o her_o total_a once_o leave_v god_n and_o the_o true_a way_n of_o his_o worship_n there_o will_v be_v no_o satisfaction_n in_o any_o other_o way_n of_o religion_n they_o follow_v and_o therefore_o no_o end_n of_o defection_n for_o ephraim_n have_v make_v many_o altar_n not_o content_v himself_o with_o these_o he_o set_v up_o at_o first_o 3._o however_o man_n may_v busk_n up_o a_o false_a religion_n to_o make_v plenty_n as_o the_o heathen_a have_v and_o do_v confirm_v themselves_o in_o their_o idolatrous_a course_n because_o they_o enjoy_v plenty_n as_o jer._n 44.17_o doct._n 1._o man_n may_v have_v much_o seem_a matter_n of_o joy_n wherein_o they_o please_v themselves_o little_o inquire_v whether_o god_n allow_v of_o it_o which_o yet_o have_v a_o worm_n in_o the_o root_n of_o it_o for_o so_o much_o do_v this_o prohibition_n import_n rejoice_v not_o o_o israel_n for_o joy_n that_o be_v there_o be_v no_o cause_n why_o you_o shall_v be_v so_o excessive_a in_o your_o jollity_n as_o to_o rejoice_v mistake_v see_v hos_n 2.5_o verse_n 2._o the_o floor_n and_o the_o winepress_a shall_v not_o feed_v they_o and_o the_o new_a wine_n shall_v fail_v in_o she_o their_o misery_n because_o of_o this_o sin_n whereby_o god_n threaten_v to_o mar_v their_o joy_n be_v hold_v forth_o in_o several_a branch_n and_o particular_n whereof_o the_o first_o be_v that_o whereas_o they_o dote_v so_o much_o on_o verse_n 6._o it_o shall_v be_v also_o carry_v unto_o assyria_n for_o a_o present_a to_o king_n jareb_n ephraim_n shall_v receive_v shame_n and_o israel_n shall_v be_v ashamed_a of_o his_o own_o counsel_n in_o the_o second_o branch_n of_o the_o sentence_n it_o be_v further_o threaten_v that_o their_o calf_n shall_v not_o only_o be_v take_v and_o so_o be_v dishonour_v at_o home_n but_o shall_v go_v into_o captivity_n as_o a_o present_a to_o the_o king_n of_o assyria_n who_o have_v conquer_v they_o and_o in_o who_o they_o place_v so_o much_o confidence_n former_o whereby_o they_o shall_v have_v much_o shame_n of_o all_o their_o mad_a counsel_n to_o worship_v they_o and_o enterprise_v to_o uphold_v they_o whence_o learn_v 1._o it_o be_v a_o further_a proof_n of_o the_o vanity_n of_o
