to_o do_v with_o the_o law_n of_o god_n but_o to_o know_v they_o and_o love_v they_o and_o obey_v they_o but_o as_o to_o man_n command_n we_o must_v know_v also_o that_o they_o be_v not_o contrary_a christ_n or_o renounce_v heaven_n or_o not_o to_o pray_v etc._n etc._n you_o must_v obey_v god_n by_o disobey_v he_o and_o if_o a_o king_n command_v you_o not_o to_o obey_v your_o parent_n or_o will_v and_o confusion_n by_o government_n some_o will_v have_v find_v out_o the_o way_n before_o now_o but_o while_o man_n be_v bad_a he_o will_v do_v according_o in_o avoid_v these_o evil_n we_o must_v not_o run_v into_o far_o great_a be_v they_o not_o great_a if_o man_n must_v not_o discern_v who_o be_v their_o lawful_a governor_n but_o must_v fight_v for_o a_o usurper_n in_o power_n against_o his_o prince_n or_o parent_n if_o command_v by_o he_o and_o if_o every_o child_n and_o subject_n must_v renounce_v god_n christ_n and_o heaven_n that_o be_v command_v and_o man_n become_v god_n and_o antigod_n 18._o q._n 10._o but_o be_v there_o no_o remedy_n against_o both_o these_o confusion_n a._n yes_o the_o remedy_n be_v these_o 1._o ruler_n that_o shall_v have_v most_o reason_n must_v give_v unfurnished_a wit_n and_o those_o that_o study_v and_o experience_n have_v ripen_v and_o they_o must_v be_v teach_v the_o duty_n of_o self-suspition_n humility_n and_o submission_n and_o that_o as_o learning_n be_v necessary_a to_o know_v so_o believe_v our_o teacher_n with_o a_o humane_a belief_n be_v necessary_a to_o learn_v of_o they_o 3._o who_o can_v learn_v that_o will_v believe_v nothing_o which_o his_o teacher_n say_v but_o this_o be_v not_o take_v he_o for_o infallible_a nor_o resolve_v only_o to_o be_v rule_v still_o by_o his_o knowledge_n but_o in_o order_n to_o learn_v the_o same_o evidence_n of_o truth_n which_o our_o teacher_n themselves_o discern_v it_o by_o 10._o 4._o they_o must_v be_v teach_v to_o know_v that_o if_o they_o mistake_v god_n law_n and_o erroneous_o pretend_v they_o against_o their_o ruler_n their_o error_n and_o abuse_n of_o the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v their_o sin_n and_o will_v not_o excuse_v their_o disobedience_n and_o therefore_o they_o must_v try_v well_o before_o they_o disobey_v 5._o all_o the_o church_n near_o they_o shall_v agree_v public_o of_o all_o the_o necessary_a article_n of_o divine_a faith_n and_o obedience_n that_o the_o thing_n the_o king_n have_v more_o wit_n and_o clemency_n than_o to_o hang_v all_o ignorant_a erroneous_a faulty_a subject_n or_o else_o he_o will_v have_v none_o leave_v to_o govern._n and_o if_o pastor_n have_v not_o more_o wit_n and_o clemency_n than_o to_o excommunicate_v all_o such_o they_o will_v be_v no_o pastor_n as_o have_v no_o flock_n but_o heinous_a be_v their_o sin_n that_o can_v tolerate_v multitude_n of_o the_o ignorant_a and_o ungodly_a in_o their_o communion_n who_o will_v but_o be_v for_o their_o power_n and_o wealth_n and_o can_v tolerate_v none_o of_o the_o wise_a and_o conscionable_a if_o they_o do_v but_o differ_v from_o they_o in_o tolerable_a case_n or_o dislike_v they_o yet_o there_o go_v more_o to_o make_v a_o tolerable_a christian_a and_o church-member_n than_o a_o tolerable_a subject_n and_o consent_n to_o the_o relation_n be_v necessary_a to_o both_o q._n 11._o what_o duty_n do_v the_o word_n honour_n contain_v and_o command_v a._n 1._o the_o first_o and_o chief_a act_n of_o honour_v they_o be_v to_o acknowledge_v their_o relation_n to_o god_n as_o his_o appoint_a officer_n and_o the_o authority_n which_o god_n have_v give_v they_o that_o immortal_a and_o can_v annihilate_v man_n soul_n or_o any_o creature_n yet_o we_o see_v that_o he_o keep_v so_o close_o to_o his_o natural_a establishment_n that_o we_o have_v no_o reason_n to_o think_v that_o he_o will_v cross_v they_o here_o and_o annihilate_v soul_n to_o shorten_v their_o reward_n or_o punishment_n q._n 17._o but_o do_v nature_n tell_v we_o what_o kind_n of_o reward_n and_o punishment_n man_n have_v a._n the_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n be_v make_v in_o their_o nature_n to_o know_v god_n in_o our_o degree_n to_o love_v he_o to_o please_v he_o and_o to_o rest_n sin_n will_v be_v their_o misery_n as_o disease_n be_v to_o the_o body_n and_o that_o the_o society_n and_o person_n that_o by_o sin_n they_o injure_v or_o infect_v will_v somewhat_o contribute_v to_o their_o punishment_n happiness_n to_o the_o good_a and_o misery_n to_o the_o bad_a the_o light_n and_o law_n of_o nature_n teach_v man_n to_o expect_v but_o all_o that_o i_o have_v teach_v you_o be_v much_o more_o sure_o and_o full_o know_v by_o supernatural_a revelation_n chap._n vi_o of_o supernatural_a revelation_n of_o god_n will_v to_o man_n and_o of_o the_o holy_a scripture_n or_o bible_n
