there_o be_v many_o thing_n which_o seem_v to_o we_o to_o be_v against_o all_o reason_n if_o we_o shall_v judge_v thereof_o after_o our_o own_o mind_n let_v we_o therefore_o understande_v that_o we_o shall_v never_o submit_v ourselves_o unto_o the_o thing_n which_o god_n show_v and_o declare_v unto_o we_o except_o we_o humble_v ourselves_o in_o the_o first_o place_n and_o for_o a_o confirmation_n which_o he_o have_v add_v we_o unto_o his_o word_n we_o have_v the_o sacrament_n and_o will_v one_o drop_n of_o water_n suffice_v to_o assure_v we_o of_o remission_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o that_o god_n have_v adopt_v we_o for_o his_o child_n and_o that_o although_o we_o be_v frail_a shall_v we_o notwithstanding_o be_v clothe_v with_o his_o heavenly_a glory_n which_o never_o shall_v decay_v be_v it_o possible_a for_o we_o to_o take_v a_o pawn_n and_o pledge_v of_o so_o notable_a and_o great_a thing_n in_o so_o small_a a_o deal_n of_o water_n may_v a_o piece_n of_o bread_n and_o a_o little_a wine_n in_o the_o supper_n of_o the_o lord_n suffice_v to_o assure_v we_o that_o god_n allow_v we_o for_o his_o child_n that_o we_o live_v in_o jesus_n christ_n and_o no_o separation_n between_o we_o for_o this_o may_v seem_v rather_o to_o be_v a_o matter_n of_o nothing_o to_o see_v such_o ceremony_n wherein_o be_v no_o great_a glory_n and_o pomp_n so_o then_o we_o somewhat_o better_a see_v this_o thing_n which_o be_v beer_n speak_v by_o the_o minister_n belong_v to_o we_o and_o that_o we_o have_v to_o make_v our_o profit_n thereof_o at_o this_o day_n to_o wit_n let_v not_o we_o cease_v to_o draw_v near_o unto_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o assure_v ourselves_o that_o he_o it_o be_v in_o who_o we_o must_v find_v all_o goodness_n and_o all_o joy_n and_o glory_n although_o it_o seem_v that_o he_o be_v yet_o as_o it_o be_v in_o the_o stable_a in_o the_o manger_n and_o in_o his_o swaddle_a clothes_n to_o wit_n that_o there_o be_v many_o thing_n which_o be_v able_a to_o make_v we_o become_v dissolute_a or_o wanton_a or_o at_o the_o least_o blear_v our_o eye_n that_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o perceive_v the_o heavenly_a glory_n which_o god_n his_o father_n have_v give_v he_o i_o say_v in_o the_o same_o humane_a nature_n which_o he_o take_v upon_o us._n for_o in_o as_o much_o as_o he_o be_v god_n he_o have_v all_o thing_n of_o himself_o as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o seventeenth_o chapter_n of_o saint_n john_n but_o in_o that_o he_o be_v man_n whatsoever_o he_o bring_v we_o he_o have_v receive_v of_o free_a gift_n 17._o john_n 17._o that_o we_o may_v draw_v out_o of_o his_o fullness_n 1.16_o john_n 1.16_o and_o find_v in_o he_o whatsoever_o be_v to_o be_v desire_v and_o so_o rest_n &_o content_v ourselves_o in_o he_o alone_o moreover_o let_v we_o here_o note_n that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n mean_v to_o assure_v we_o that_o we_o follow_v the_o minister_n who_o be_v here_o appoint_v for_o master_n and_o guide_n ought_v not_o to_o fear_v fall_v away_o for_o see_v the_o shepherd_n have_v none_o other_o sign_n but_o the_o stable_a and_o a_o manger_n we_o may_v say_v behold_v a_o sort_n of_o simple_a idiote_n who_o be_v foolish_o and_o without_o any_o reason_n make_v to_o believe_v that_o this_o be_v the_o redeemer_n of_o the_o world_n and_o yet_o this_o will_v be_v too_o too_o easy_a a_o matter_n for_o we_o to_o do_v and_o therefore_o we_o may_v stand_v in_o doubt_n but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n the_o shepherd_n be_v confirm_v very_o certain_o that_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n even_o he_o that_o lie_v so_o in_o the_o manger_n to_o wit_n when_o the_o angel_n appear_v unto_o they_o and_o after_o they_o have_v hear_v this_o song_n which_o saint_n luke_n set_v down_o where_o all_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n bear_v witness_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o he_o have_v all_o power_n over_o the_o creature_n both_o of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n let_v we_o therefore_o

that_o it_o be_v not_o without_o cause_n that_o he_o say_v that_o his_o flesh_n be_v meat_n indeed_o and_o his_o blood_n drink_v in_o deed_n and_o therefore_o we_o see_v why_o the_o holy_a table_n be_v make_v ready_a for_o we_o to_o wit_n to_o the_o end_n that_o we_o know_v our_o lord_n jesus_n to_o be_v descend_v here_o below_o 6.35_o john_n 6.35_o and_o utter_o abase_v yet_o that_o he_o be_v not_o for_o all_o that_o separate_v from_o we_o although_o he_o be_v ascend_v into_o the_o heaven_n in_o glory_n and_o majesty_n but_o rather_o upon_o this_o condition_n that_o we_o may_v be_v partaker_n of_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n and_o why_o so_o for_o we_o know_v that_o his_o righteousness_n and_o obedience_n be_v the_o satisfaction_n for_o our_o sin_n and_o have_v appease_v the_o wrath_n of_o god_n through_o the_o sacrifice_n which_o he_o offer_v of_o his_o body_n and_o blood_n in_o the_o same_o humane_a nature_n which_o he_o take_v upon_o us._n since_o they_o it_o be_v so_o let_v not_o we_o doubt_v when_o jesus_n christ_n bid_v we_o to_o this_o table_n although_o we_o can_v perceive_v nothing_o else_o but_o bread_n &_o wine_n but_o that_o he_o very_o dwell_v in_o we_o and_o we_o so_o sure_o knit_v unto_o he_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o which_o be_v his_o but_o he_o will_v communicate_v the_o same_o to_o us._n let_v we_o therefore_o i_o say_v acknowledge_v this_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v know_v to_o make_v our_o profit_n of_o this_o sacrament_n which_o he_o himself_o have_v establish_v and_o let_v we_o understande_v that_o so_o often_o as_o we_o receive_v the_o same_o that_o he_o may_v very_o well_o have_v deliver_v we_o by_o some_o other_o mean_v from_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o condemnation_n wherein_o we_o be_v if_o it_o have_v please_v he_o but_o that_o his_o meaning_n be_v to_o grant_n we_o more_o assurance_n of_o the_o love_n he_o bear_v we_o when_o as_o we_o have_v jesus_n christ_n for_o a_o pawn_n because_o we_o may_v seek_v after_o our_o salvation_n in_o he_o and_o acknowledge_v that_o we_o be_v no_o manner_n of_o way_n whatsoever_o able_a to_o rejoice_v until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o be_v give_v we_o as_o it_o be_v amongst_o we_o and_o be_v so_o near_o we_o as_o that_o by_o his_o mean_n we_o may_v be_v bring_v to_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n whereof_o we_o be_v deprive_v by_o reason_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v that_o jesus_n christ_n must_v be_v the_o ready_a way_n for_o our_o salvation_n if_o ever_o we_o intend_v to_o come_v unto_o god_n &_o desire_v to_o have_v a_o true_a spiritual_a joy_n and_o a_o spiritual_a contentation_n and_o quietness_n and_o if_o we_o also_o desire_v to_o be_v arm_v against_o all_o the_o temptation_n wherewith_o satan_n be_v able_a to_o attempt_v us._n but_o and_o if_o we_o will_v be_v partaker_n of_o this_o holy_a table_n let_v we_o consider_v well_o with_o ourselves_o &_o in_o the_o first_o place_n acknowledge_v our_o misery_n and_o be_v displease_v and_o utter_o ashamed_a of_o they_o moreover_o let_v we_o acknowledge_v and_o confess_v that_o god_n mean_v to_o assuage_v all_o our_o sorrow_n &_o grief_n when_o as_o he_o so_o liberal_o show_v himself_o in_o his_o only_o beget_v son_n and_o will_v have_v we_o full_o and_o whole_o joy_n in_o he_o and_o although_o we_o be_v subject_a to_o many_o misery_n in_o this_o world_n and_o be_v besiege_v with_o enemy_n like_v unto_o raven_a wolf_n so_o that_o the_o devil_n cease_v not_o to_o make_v a_o pray_v of_o we_o and_o the_o infidel_n bark_v at_o we_o like_o mastyfe_n cur_n although_o i_o say_v we_o be_v on_o every_o side_n trouble_v and_o threaten_v and_o although_o we_o must_v abide_v many_o grief_n 4.7_o philip._n 4.7_o yet_o let_v we_o hold_v this_o for_o a_o most_o sure_a ground_n that_o we_o shall_v have_v always_o peace_n in_o our_o god_n and_o let_v we_o beseech_v he_o that_o he_o will_v make_v we_o feel_v it_o by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n because_o it_o be_v a_o thing_n that_o surpass_v all_o man_n reason_n as_o we_o have_v already_o touch_v of_o s._n paul_n and_o learn_v to_o be_v so_o content_v with_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o with_o the_o spiritual_a benefit_n whereof_o we_o be_v partaker_n as_o that_o we_o may_v patient_o abide_v all_o the_o affliction_n and_o misery_n of_o this_o world_n and_o beside_o let_v we_o beseech_v he_o that_o we_o take_v it_o not_o in_o evil_a part_n to_o be_v contemn_v and_o on_o every_o side_n trouble_v to_o be_v short_a to_o be_v put_v too_o all_o reproach_n and_o shame_n so_o that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v with_o we_o and_o bless_v all_o our_o misery_n and_o affliction_n and_o that_o we_o bring_v forth_o such_o fruit_n thereby_o as_o that_o it_o may_v be_v know_v that_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o all_o our_o misery_n we_o desire_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o glofi_a of_o our_o god._n and_o where_o the_o worldling_n triumph_n to_o their_o shame_n and_o confusion_n because_o all_o their_o joy_n be_v too_o strive_v against_o god_n let_v our_o true_a joy_n be_v too_o serve_v he_o in_o all_o fear_n and_o humility_n and_o yield_v ourselves_o whole_o to_o his_o obedience_n and_o here_o we_o see_v the_o way_n by_o from_o he_o all_o our_o whole_a life_n and_o whatsoever_o benefit_n else_o we_o receive_v from_o god_n shall_v turn_v to_o our_o most_o gréevous_a condemnation_n and_o that_o we_o may_v feel_v his_o death_n and_o passion_n to_o be_v communicate_v unto_o we_o and_o be_v take_v for_o the_o member_n of_o his_o body_n to_o the_o end_n the_o affliction_n which_o we_o shall_v abide_v here_o in_o this_o it_o be_v tell_v we_o that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v redeem_v we_o from_o everlasting_a death_n and_o purchase_v for_o we_o everlasting_a life_n we_o must_v therefore_o in_o the_o first_o place_n learn_v to_o render_v unto_o god_n the_o praise_n due_a unto_o he_o now_o to_o say_v true_o he_o may_v if_o he_o have_v please_v have_v deliver_v we_o from_o the_o bottomless_a depth_n of_o death_n after_o a_o other_o sort_n but_o his_o good_a will_n be_v large_o to_o bestow_v and_o pour_v upon_o we_o the_o treasure_n of_o his_o infinite_a goodness_n when_o as_o he_o spare_v not_o his_o only_a son_n and_o our_o lord_n jesus_n will_v herein_o give_v we_o a_o excellent_a pawn_n of_o his_o wonderful_a care_n towards_o we_o when_o as_o he_o offer_v himself_o willing_o to_o death_n for_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v touch_v to_o the_o quick_a nor_o inflame_v to_o praise_v our_o god_n without_o we_o on_o the_o other_o side_n do_v examine_v our_o estate_n and_o be_v as_o it_o be_v throw_v down_o into_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n of_o hell_n know_v what_o a_o thing_n it_o be_v to_o have_v provoke_v his_o wrath_n and_o to_o become_v our_o mortal_a enemy_n have_v he_o as_o a_o terrible_a and_o fearful_a judge_n so_o that_o it_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n better_o that_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o all_o the_o creature_n have_v conspire_v against_o we_o then_o that_o we_o shall_v once_o come_v near_o his_o majesty_n so_o long_o as_o he_o be_v against_o us._n wherefore_o it_o be_v very_o meet_a that_o sinner_n shall_v be_v wound_v with_o the_o feel_v and_o conceive_v of_o their_o sin_n that_o they_o may_v know_v themselves_o to_o be_v most_o miserable_a and_o fear_v their_o estate_n to_o the_o end_n they_o may_v thereby_o know_v how_o great_o they_o be_v behold_v and_o bind_v unto_o god_n in_o that_o he_o have_v compassion_n upon_o they_o and_o see_v they_o in_o a_o desperate_a case_n have_v very_o good_a will_n to_o help_v they_o without_o regard_n of_o any_o their_o worthiness_n but_o only_o for_o their_o misery_n sake_n and_o so_o also_o be_v it_o as_o we_o have_v already_o say_v because_o we_o be_v too_o too_o much_o entangle_v here_o below_o and_o when_o as_o god_n call_v we_o unto_o he_o our_o mind_n and_o affection_n so_o keep_v we_o back_o as_o that_o we_o have_v need_n to_o make_v much_o of_o the_o heavenly_a life_n as_o it_o be_v worthy_a and_o know_v with_o how_o dear_a a_o price_n it_o be_v purchase_v for_o us._n and_o here_o we_o see_v why_o it_o be_v tell_v we_o that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n do_v not_o only_o mean_a to_o suffer_v death_n and_o offer_v himself_o a_o sacrifice_n to_o appease_v the_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n his_o father_n but_o also_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o may_v true_o and_o indeed_o be_v our_o pledge_n he_o refuse_v not_o to_o abide_v the_o anguish_n and_o grief_n which_o be_v prepare_v for_o all_o such_o as_o in_o conscience_n be_v touch_v and_o feel_v themselves_o guilty_a of_o everlasting_a death_n and_o condemnation_n before_o god_n let_v we_o then_o hear_v right_o note_v that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v not_o content_v to_o offer_v up_o his_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o yield_v himself_o unto_o death_n but_o will_v withal_o appear_v before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n in_o the_o name_n and_o person_n of_o all_o sinner_n ready_a there_o to_o be_v condemn_v and_o that_o because_o he_o bear_v our_o burden_n and_o therefore_o we_o must_v not_o be_v ashamed_a see_v the_o son_n of_o god_n have_v submit_v himself_o to_o such_o a_o infirmity_n neither_o be_v it_o without_o cause_n that_o saint_n paul_n exhort_v we_o not_o to_o be_v ashamed_a of_o the_o preach_n of_o the_o cross_n albeit_o it_o be_v to_o some_o foolishness_n and_o a_o offence_n to_o many_o for_o the_o more_o that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v humble_v we_o see_v thereby_o that_o the_o offence_n for_o the_o which_o we_o be_v in_o arrearage_n and_o behind_o with_o god_n can_v not_o be_v abolish_v without_o great_a extremity_n and_o in_o deed_n we_o know_v that_o he_o be_v make_v weak_a that_o we_o may_v be_v make_v strong_a by_o his_o power_n and_o beside_o he_o will_v abide_v all_o our_o suffering_n sin_n except_v to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v be_v ready_a at_o this_o day_n to_o help_v us._n for_o if_o he_o have_v not_o feel_v in_o his_o own_o person_n the_o fear_n doubt_n and_o torment_n which_o we_o endure_v he_o will_v not_o be_v so_o incline_v to_o be_v merciful_a unto_o we_o as_o he_o be_v we_o say_v that_o he_o who_o know_v not_o what_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n mean_v will_v never_o be_v stir_v up_o to_o have_v compassion_n upon_o those_o that_o feel_v it_o because_o they_o have_v always_o take_v their_o ease_n and_o live_v in_o pleasure_n now_o it_o be_v true_a that_o although_o god_n in_o his_o own_o nature_n suffer_v not_o any_o of_o our_o passion_n yet_o cease_v he_o not_o for_o all_o that_o to_o be_v courteous_a unto_o we_o but_o that_o be_v because_o he_o be_v the_o fountain_n of_o all_o goodness_n and_o mercy_n nevertheless_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v be_v assure_v that_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n know_v our_o weakness_n to_o help_v it_o &_o that_o we_o may_v come_v the_o bold_o unto_o he_o &_o have_v a_o more_o familiar_a access_n the_o apostle_n say_v 2.10_o hebr._n 2.10_o that_o he_o will_v for_o the_o same_o cause_n be_v tempt_v even_o as_o we_o be_v so_o then_o we_o have_v to_o observe_v in_o this_o text_n which_o we_o have_v read_v that_o when_o our_o lord_n jesus_n be_v come_v into_o this_o village_n of_o gethsamene_n &_o namely_o into_o the_o mount_n olivet_n it_o be_v to_o offer_v himself_o willing_o to_o death_n and_o herein_o his_o will_n be_v to_o be_v discharge_v of_o the_o office_n &_o charge_n that_o be_v commit_v unto_o he_o for_o why_o clothe_v he_o himself_o with_o our_o flesh_n &_o nature_n without_o it_o be_v to_o repair_v all_o our_o rebellion_n through_o his_o obedience_n to_o the_o end_n to_o let_v every_o of_o we_o which_o acknowledge_v our_o offence_n seek_v remedy_n for_o they_o &_o be_v of_o good_a courage_n for_o we_o see_v how_o joseph_n &_o nicodemus_n do_v now_o here_o be_v two_o thing_n to_o be_v consider_v of_o for_o our_o example_n the_o first_o be_v that_o they_o have_v no_o clear_a insight_n in_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o death_n and_o passion_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n wherefore_o their_o understanding_n be_v gross_a and_o their_o faith_n very_o weak_a the_o other_o be_v that_o notwithstanding_o this_o extremity_n yet_o fight_v they_o against_o all_o temptation_n and_o come_v to_o look_v for_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o be_v dead_a to_o put_v he_o into_o the_o tumbe_a protest_v that_o they_o hope_v to_o come_v to_o the_o bless_a resurrection_n which_o be_v promise_v they_o and_o although_o we_o feel_v ourselves_o weak_a yet_o let_v it_o not_o discourage_v us._n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o that_o we_o be_v weak_a and_o god_n may_v reject_v we_o when_o as_o he_o shall_v rough_o entreat_v us._n but_o yet_o when_o we_o shall_v feel_v these_o want_n let_v we_o understand_v that_o he_o will_v accept_v our_o desire_n although_o it_o be_v imperfect_a moreover_o since_o at_o this_o day_n our_o lord_n jesus_n be_v rise_v in_o glory_n and_o although_o we_o must_v here_o suffer_v many_o misery_n and_o calamity_n and_o that_o a_o man_n will_v think_v he_o be_v daily_o crucify_v in_o his_o member_n as_o in_o deed_n the_o ungodly_a as_o much_o as_o in_o they_o lie_v do_v yet_o let_v not_o we_o quail_v for_o all_o this_o because_o we_o know_v that_o we_o can_v be_v put_v beside_o that_o which_o be_v promise_v we_o in_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o although_o we_o must_v run_v through_o a_o number_n of_o affliction_n yet_o let_v we_o always_o have_v a_o eye_n unto_o our_o head_n for_o joseph_n and_o nicodemus_n never_o have_v the_o advantage_n that_o we_o at_o this_o day_n have_v which_o be_v they_o never_o beheald_v the_o power_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n which_o be_v show_v in_o the_o resurrection_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o their_o faith_n for_o all_o this_o whole_o mortgage_v and_o since_o our_o lord_n jesus_n call_v we_o now_o unto_o he_o and_o tell_v we_o allow_v that_o he_o be_v ascend_v into_o heaven_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v gather_v we_o altogether_o let_v we_o constant_o persevere_v both_o to_o seek_v he_o and_o follow_v he_o and_o that_o it_o be_v no_o hurt_n for_o we_o to_o die_v with_o he_o since_o we_o shall_v be_v partaker_n of_o his_o glory_n and_o saint_n paul_n exhort_v we_o to_o be_v like_a unto_o jesus_n christ_n not_o only_o as_o touch_v his_o death_n but_o also_o as_o concern_v his_o burial_n for_o there_o be_v some_o that_o can_v be_v content_v to_o die_v with_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n for_o a_o minute_n of_o a_o hour_n but_o it_o will_v grieve_v they_o to_o do_v it_o any_o long_o and_o for_o this_o cause_n i_o have_v say_v that_o we_o must_v not_o die_v for_o a_o while_n but_o we_o must_v also_o patient_o abide_v at_o last_o to_o be_v bury_v i_o call_v this_o die_a whenas_o god_n see_v we_o so_o suffer_v for_o his_o name_n sake_n for_o although_o we_o be_v not_o at_o the_o first_o condemn_v and_o bring_v to_o the_o stake_n yet_o when_o we_o be_v afflict_v this_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o death_n which_o we_o must_v patient_o abide_v but_o because_o we_o be_v not_o by_o and_o by_o humble_v it_o be_v meet_v we_o shall_v be_v long_a time_n scourge_v and_o be_v content_v and_o patient_o bear_v it_o for_o as_o the_o devil_n never_o cease_v to_o devise_v whatsoever_o may_v withdraw_v we_o and_o make_v we_o grow_v worse_a and_o worse_a even_o so_o must_v we_o all_o our_o life_n long_a fight_n against_o he_o and_o although_o this_o be_v a_o very_a hard_a and_o grievous_a condition_n yet_o let_v we_o tarry_v till_o the_o time_n be_v come_v that_o god_n call_v we_o unto_o he_o and_o not_o be_v weary_a in_o confess_v our_o faith_n and_o therein_o follow_v nicodemus_n but_o not_o in_o his_o temerousnes_n for_o when_o he_o first_o come_v
of_o god_n and_o humble_v we_o have_v already_o begin_v to_o treatise_n and_o say_v that_o although_o the_o gospel_n shall_v be_v publish_v throughout_o the_o face_n of_o the_o whole_a earth_n yet_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v very_o hardly_o receive_v &_o entreat_v by_o the_o great_a number_n which_o thing_n the_o prophet_n have_v also_o so_o declare_v to_o the_o end_n the_o child_n of_o god_n may_v not_o be_v abash_v whenas_o they_o see_v the_o faithlesness_n of_o such_o as_o have_v have_v their_o ear_n beat_v with_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n and_o yet_o have_v care_v no_o whit_n at_o all_o for_o the_o same_o and_o be_v not_o this_o a_o strange_a kind_n of_o deal_v that_o when_o god_n as_o much_o as_o be_v possible_a call_v we_o unto_o himself_o and_o labour_v so_o gentle_o and_o gracious_o to_o win_v we_o that_o we_o shall_v perverse_o draw_v our_o head_n out_o of_o the_o colour_n as_o we_o say_v and_o even_o for_o the_o very_a nonce_n refuse_v to_o receive_v the_o benefit_n thus_o offer_v unto_o we_o a_o man_n will_v think_v that_o this_o be_v a_o impossible_a thing_n and_o yet_o we_o daily_o see_v it_o by_o experience_n loe_o here_o why_o it_o be_v that_o the_o prophet_n cry_v out_o whenas_o god_n as_o it_o be_v by_o the_o sound_n of_o a_o trumpet_n will_v publish_v his_o gospel_n &_o yet_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v notwithstanding_o so_o few_o beléever_n he_o add_v the_o reason_n that_o it_o be_v very_o meet_a that_o god_n shall_v show_v forth_o his_o power_n to_o grant_v faith_n unto_o those_o which_o natural_o will_v be_v faithless_a what_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o we_o see_v so_o many_o people_n reject_v loath_a &_o conceive_v so_o great_a a_o hatred_n against_o the_o gospel_n &_o have_v rather_o be_v like_a unto_o they_o which_o so_o set_v themselves_o against_o god_n then_o quieth_o come_v near_o he_o what_o be_v the_o cause_n i_o say_v forsooth_o nothing_o else_o but_o that_o we_o imagine_v we_o have_v faith_n tie_v to_o our_o gyrdel_n howbeit_o the_o prophet_n tell_v we_o another_o manner_n of_o thing_n for_o he_o say_v that_o although_o god_n command_v that_o his_o word_n shall_v be_v publish_v to_o all_o both_o good_a &_o bad_a yet_o work_v he_o such_o a_o secret_a effect_n in_o his_o choose_a as_o if_o he_o make_v they_o feel_v his_o arm_n &_o power_n and_o therefore_o let_v this_o be_v our_o observation_n that_o whensoever_o the_o gospel_n be_v preach_v it_o will_v be_v but_o as_o a_o unprofitable_a sound_n untyll_o such_o time_n as_o our_o lord_n show_v that_o it_o be_v he_o himself_o which_o speak_v neither_o bestow_v he_o this_o benefit_n upon_o all_o man_n thus_o we_o see_v the_o power_n of_o god_n to_o be_v hide_v from_o the_o reprobate_n and_o therefore_o that_o this_o privilege_n belong_v but_o to_o a_o few_o who_o he_o have_v choose_v &_o adopt_a to_o attain_v to_o everlasting_a life_n whenas_o he_o tell_v they_o that_o the_o gospel_n be_v the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n and_o a_o most_o infallible_a truth_n whereto_o they_o must_v stick_v thus_o we_o see_v in_o sum_n the_o meaning_n of_o the_o prophet_n in_o this_o place_n now_o we_o must_v hereupon_o be_v fence_a &_o arm_v against_o this_o object_n which_o the_o devil_n set_v before_o our_o eye_n whenas_o we_o see_v such_o a_o mighty_a number_n of_o people_n withstand_v the_o gospel_n even_o of_o the_o great_a and_o high_a in_o call_n for_o they_o we_o think_v it_o as_o a_o man_n will_v say_v not_o to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o why_o so_o very_o because_o we_o depend_v too_o too_o much_o upon_o man_n thus_o we_o see_v how_o weak_a and_o unstable_a our_o faith_n be_v and_o therefore_o let_v we_o overcome_v the_o world_n and_o let_v we_o understand_v that_o when_o god_n speak_v we_o must_v submit_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o and_o although_o none_o will_v accompany_v we_o herein_o but_o be_v all_o against_o we_o yet_o let_v we_o for_o all_o that_o be_v content_v to_o receive_v with_o a_o pure_a and_o clean_a faith_n whatsoever_o god_n speak_v unto_o us._n moreover_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v not_o be_v abash_v to_o see_v man_n so_o wicked_o bend_v as_o to_o fight_v against_o their_o god_n yea_o even_o their_o creator_n &_o redeemer_n let_v we_o therefore_o understande_v that_o faith_n be_v not_o give_v to_o all_o man_n but_o be_v a_o singular_a gift_n which_o god_n have_v reserve_v as_o a_o precious_a jewel_n for_o his_o elect_a and_o choose_v and_o although_o we_o understande_v that_o our_o duty_n be_v to_o cleave_v unto_o he_o yet_o let_v we_o notwithstanding_o know_v that_o every_o of_o we_o have_v not_o faith_n of_o our_o own_o proper_a motion_n but_o that_o god_n have_v enlighten_v we_o &_o make_v we_o see_v by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n and_o in_o thus_o do_v have_v show_v his_o power_n that_o be_v to_o say_v have_v give_v we_o such_o a_o lively_a feel_v thereof_o in_o our_o heart_n as_o that_o we_o may_v very_o well_o know_v that_o the_o gospel_n be_v not_o of_o man_n but_o from_o he_o and_o this_o be_v the_o effect_n which_o we_o be_v to_o consider_v of_o out_o of_o this_o place_n to_o be_v short_a let_v we_o bold_o set_v ourselves_o against_o the_o faithlesnes_n &_o stubbornness_n of_o all_o such_o as_o be_v the_o enemy_n of_o god_n &_o let_v we_o march_v on_o whither_o soever_o he_o call_v we_o &_o receive_v the_o benefit_n which_o he_o offer_v we_o to_o the_o end_n we_o may_v be_v find_v blameless_a of_o this_o unthankfulnes_n whereof_o the_o prophet_n accuse_v &_o condemn_v here_o all_o such_o as_o will_v not_o obey_v the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n now_o hereupon_o he_o show_v that_o they_o vouchsafe_v not_o to_o believe_v jesus_n christ_n because_o they_o see_v he_o as_o a_o forlorn_a and_o christ_n 14_o isaiah_n 8._o 14_o wherefore_o see_v why_o it_o be_v say_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v place_v as_o a_o precious_a stone_n upon_o which_o the_o temple_n of_o god_n shall_v be_v build_v and_o such_o a_o sure_a stone_n as_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o bear_v the_o whole_a building_n the_o prophet_n also_o further_a say_v that_o he_o shall_v be_v a_o stumble_a stone_n unto_o the_o for_o as_o saint_n paul_n say_v because_o the_o world_n will_v not_o benefit_n itself_o by_o the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n whenas_o he_o in_o such_o sort_n show_v himself_o the_o creator_n as_o that_o the_o very_o behold_v of_o the_o heaven_n &_o the_o earth_n may_v have_v sufficient_o make_v it_o to_o have_v come_v unto_o he_o 1.21_o 1._o cor._n 1.21_o he_o then_o make_v a_o alteration_n in_o the_o world_n and_o have_v use_v as_o it_o be_v a_o certain_a kind_n of_o foolishenesse_n to_o teach_v we_o for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v we_o shall_v have_v be_v teach_v by_o the_o wonderful_a wisdom_n will_v they_o say_v there_o be_v but_o a_o small_a handful_n of_o man_n which_o believe_v the_o gospel_n howbeit_o if_o they_o be_v the_o great_a number_n i_o can_v be_v well_o content_v to_o go_v that_o way_n but_o for_o i_o to_o thrust_v myself_o into_o so_o small_a a_o company_n and_o forsake_v the_o great_a multitude_n what_o a_o folly_n be_v that_o now_o the_o prophet_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v cut_v the_o throat_n of_o these_o objection_n say_v that_o there_o will_v not_o be_v above_o four_o or_o ten_o at_o the_o most_o but_o that_o all_o man_n for_o the_o more_o part_n will_v refuse_v to_o obey_v our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o no_o doubt_n of_o it_o his_o meaning_n be_v to_o find_v fault_n particular_o with_o the_o jew_n for_o we_o have_v already_o allege_v out_o of_o the_o eight_o chapter_n that_o he_o shall_v be_v a_o stumble_a block_n to_o these_o two_o house_n to_o wit_n to_o the_o tribe_n of_o abraham_n we_o see_v then_o that_o a_o man_n will_v have_v think_v that_o the_o people_n who_o god_n have_v special_o choose_v to_o himself_o must_v needs_o have_v know_v their_o redeemer_n for_o to_o who_o be_v jesus_n christ_n promise_v forsooth_o even_o to_o the_o jew_n for_o it_o be_v say_v that_o he_o be_v the_o minister_n of_o the_o circumcision_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v accomplish_v the_o promise_n make_v unto_o the_o father_n 118.22_o rom._n 11.8_o psal_n 118.22_o and_o therefore_o the_o jew_n must_v needs_o be_v acquaint_v with_o jesus_n christ_n before_o he_o appear_v unto_o the_o world_n and_o with_o ease_n receive_v he_o now_o it_o be_v say_v that_o the_o principal_a and_o chief_a builder_n refuse_v he_o to_o wit_n the_o prince_n and_o head_n of_o the_o people_n and_o even_o so_o fare_v it_o at_o this_o day_n for_o not_o only_a turk_n and_o infidel_n refuse_v jesus_n christ_n but_o also_o very_a many_o false_a christian_n in_o name_n yea_o and_o we_o shall_v have_v number_n that_o profess_v the_o gospel_n who_o many_o time_n become_v profane_a and_o villainous_a scorner_n of_o god_n and_o will_v glad_o that_o all_o the_o doctrine_n of_o salvation_n be_v clear_o abolish_v for_o the_o show_n that_o they_o make_v of_o it_o be_v only_o for_o the_o shame_n of_o man_n but_o however_o it_o be_v we_o be_v sure_a of_o this_o that_o jesus_n christ_n shall_v be_v refuse_v and_o contemn_v and_o if_o it_o have_v not_o be_v so_o foretell_v of_o our_o faith_n may_v very_o well_o have_v be_v shake_v but_o this_o say_n of_o isaiah_n be_v a_o very_a good_a staff_n for_o we_o to_o lean_v unto_o even_o as_o unto_o a_o sure_a rock_n when_o as_o we_o see_v all_o the_o world_n thus_o stumble_v at_o he_o as_o to_o see_v some_o to_o set_v themselves_o furious_o against_o he_o &_o his_o doctrine_n some_o to_o scorn_v he_o and_o put_v out_o their_o tongue_n to_o speak_v evil_a of_o all_o religion_n but_o yet_o let_v we_o notwithstanding_o constant_o persevere_v in_o our_o faith_n sure_o it_o be_v great_o to_o be_v wish_v for_o that_o we_o may_v see_v jesus_n christ_n a_o far_o off_o and_o submit_v ourselves_o unto_o he_o because_o he_o be_v the_o true_a glass_n and_o pattern_n of_o all_o holiness_n howbeit_o the_o more_o we_o see_v the_o world_n refuse_v he_o the_o great_a ought_v our_o faith_n to_o be_v for_o how_o be_v it_o possible_a for_o we_o to_o discern_v that_o jesus_n christ_n be_v the_o redeemer_n of_o the_o world_n forsooth_o let_v we_o consider_v what_o all_o the_o prophet_n have_v say_v of_o he_o for_o to_o say_v true_o this_o be_v the_o only_a glass_n wherein_o we_o must_v behold_v the_o only_a son_n of_o god_n for_o behold_v the_o true_a testimony_n which_o god_n have_v send_v down_o from_o heaven_n to_o set_v a_o sure_a mark_n of_o he_o that_o shall_v be_v the_o redeemer_n to_o wit_n that_o all_o the_o world_n shall_v forsake_v he_o and_o every_o man_n lift_v himself_o up_o against_o he_o and_o therefore_o since_o it_o be_v so_o let_v we_o receive_v he_o with_o this_o condition_n and_o not_o doubt_n that_o although_o it_o seem_v to_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v utter_o overthrow_v and_o trod_v under_o foot_n through_o the_o boldness_n and_o pride_n of_o the_o ungodly_a yet_o that_o god_n will_v magnify_v our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o strengthen_v our_o faith_n by_o his_o holy_a spirit_n as_o that_o it_o shall_v have_v victory_n unto_o the_o end_n and_o that_o as_o our_o lord_n jesus_n have_v overcome_v the_o devil_n as_o in_o the_o end_n both_o he_o and_o all_o his_o supporter_n must_v be_v make_v his_o footstool_n even_o so_o likewise_o will_v he_o cause_v we_o to_o triumph_v with_o he_o to_o march_v upon_o all_o those_o which_o persecute_v and_o lift_v themselves_o up_o so_o furious_o against_o we_o and_o against_o all_o those_o which_o contemn_v and_o despite_n he_o now_o let_v we_o fall_v down_o before_o the_o majesty_n of_o our_o good_a god_n and_o acknowledge_v our_o offence_n beseech_v he_o to_o cause_v we_o so_o to_o feel_v they_o as_o that_o we_o may_v groan_v and_o sigh_v for_o they_o so_o that_o we_o be_v after_o true_o humble_v may_v come_v to_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n know_v that_o in_o he_o must_v be_v all_o jew_n to_o believe_v his_o doctrine_n and_o tell_v they_o that_o none_o of_o all_o this_o gear_n come_v by_o fortune_n as_o might_n have_v be_v judge_v but_o even_o by_o the_o will_n of_o god_n now_o if_o we_o right_o consider_v of_o the_o power_n of_o god_n we_o shall_v be_v clean_o void_a of_o all_o these_o fond_a imagination_n for_o we_o know_v that_o god_n be_v not_o without_o wit_n and_o reason_n and_o that_o whatsoever_o he_o do_v he_o do_v it_o mere_o for_o the_o salvation_n of_o mankind_n his_o resurrection_n also_o be_v diligent_o to_o be_v observe_v of_o we_o for_o as_o the_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n we_o can_v neither_o will_n nor_o choose_v but_o humble_v ourselves_o before_o he_o for_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o we_o to_o be_v able_a to_o think_v what_o god_n be_v except_o we_o be_v lively_o touch_v with_o some_o fear_n which_o may_v make_v we_o yield_v unto_o he_o and_o therefore_o so_o long_o as_o we_o be_v rebel_n and_o his_o enemy_n it_o be_v a_o token_n that_o we_o never_o know_v he_o for_o this_o knowledge_n of_o god_n be_v too_o too_o lively_a a_o thing_n to_o say_v there_o we_o see_v he_o and_o yet_o be_v as_o obstinate_a and_o rebellious_a as_o infidel_n and_o if_o any_o man_n say_v that_o they_o be_v ignorant_a i_o grant_v but_o let_v they_o take_v this_o withal_o that_o they_o be_v also_o curse_a hypocrite_n be_v there_o either_o one_o or_o other_o of_o we_o that_o have_v any_o thing_n in_o he_o able_a to_o excuse_v he_o no_o sure_o for_o if_o we_o have_v but_o the_o seed_n of_o nature_n in_o we_o give_v by_o god_n the_o very_a behold_v of_o heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v enough_o to_o make_v we_o think_v that_o there_o be_v some_o one_o who_o create_v all_o these_o thing_n god_n reveal_v unto_o we_o as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o glass_n his_o majesty_n and_o glory_n and_o yet_o there_o be_v none_o of_o we_o all_o that_o will_v yield_v unto_o it_o sure_o the_o most_o ungodly_a and_o such_o as_o make_v a_o scorn_n of_o god_n whenas_o they_o be_v in_o any_o pain_n or_o grief_n will_v call_v upon_o he_o and_o yet_o think_v no_o whit_n at_o all_o indeed_o of_o he_o and_o héereunto_o do_v god_n drive_v they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v without_o all_o excuse_n insomuch_o that_o they_o as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v which_o be_v most_o incredulous_a be_v not_o yet_o so_o ignorant_a but_o that_o they_o play_v the_o very_a hypocrite_n they_o will_v glad_o cover_v and_o cloak_n it_o howbéeit_v they_o close_o up_o their_o eye_n for_o the_o very_a nonce_n we_o be_v proud_a also_o &_o malicious_a for_o if_o we_o do_v lazy_a and_o cold_a it_o be_v a_o token_n that_o we_o care_v not_o for_o he_o so_o that_o by_o that_o mean_a our_o desire_n be_v to_o walk_v altogether_o in_o the_o dark_a why_o so_o what_o be_v then_o to_o be_v do_v forsooth_o when_o we_o come_v near_o unto_o god_n and_o that_o he_o rebuke_v we_o for_o our_o offence_n we_o shall_v learn_v to_o be_v offend_v with_o our_o sin_n and_o reform_v our_o life_n howbéeit_n we_o be_v content_v to_o lull_v ourselves_o asleep_a in_o our_o misery_n and_o thus_o we_o see_v how_o we_o fly_v from_o his_o brightness_n we_o be_v therefore_o here_o to_o note_v that_o we_o be_v not_o punish_v without_o good_a cause_n although_o we_o be_v ignorant_a for_o we_o can_v just_o say_v that_o we_o be_v simple_a but_o rather_o hypocritical_a proud_a and_o malicious_a we_o see_v then_o why_o s._n paul_n say_v that_o they_o which_o have_v sin_v without_o law_n to_o wit_n they_o which_o have_v no_o understanding_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n shall_v notwithstanding_o die_v without_o law_n say_v further_o that_o god_n have_v engrave_v a_o law_n in_o every_o man_n heart_n for_o although_o we_o have_v neither_o scripture_n nor_o preach_v yet_o do_v our_o conscience_n serve_v for_o a_o law_n to_o condemn_v we_o and_o this_o shalbée_v sufficient_a at_o the_o latter_a day_n well_o we_o may_v have_v many_o start_a hole_n to_o deceive_v man_n have_v not_o know_v god_n and_o obey_v the_o gospel_n to_o wit_n unto_o all_o incredulous_a person_n now_o by_o this_o we_o see_v that_o faith_n be_v the_o only_a port_n or_o gate_n unto_o salvation_n &_o life_n because_o jesus_n christ_n will_v come_v to_o confound_v all_o those_o which_o have_v not_o beléeve_v moreover_o we_o must_v understand_v that_o until_o such_o time_n as_o god_n enlighten_v we_o we_o be_v altogether_o ignorant_a and_o blind_a and_o why_o so_o forsooth_o we_o have_v a_o fair_a catch_n to_o know_v whatsoever_o be_v in_o heaven_n &_o in_o earth_n &_o yet_o not_o know_v god_n &_o then_o to_o what_o purpose_n serve_v all_o our_o knowledge_n and_o sure_o we_o shall_v never_o know_v he_o aright_o until_o such_o time_n as_o he_o have_v enlighten_v we_o with_o his_o holy_a spirit_n whereupon_o we_o see_v that_o our_o ignorance_n shall_v not_o excuse_v we_o to_o the_o end_n no_o man_n shall_v flatter_v himself_o and_o become_v careless_a &_o yet_o let_v we_o we_o may_v say_v with_o david_n 1â—_n psal_n 19_o 1â—_n that_o this_o doctrine_n be_v sweet_a than_o honey_n &_o more_o precious_a than_o gold_n or_o silver_n and_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o point_n moreover_o we_o here_o see_v how_o god_n mean_v to_o certify_v we_o of_o our_o salvation_n for_o if_o jesus_n christ_n must_v come_v to_o do_v vengeance_n upon_o all_o those_o which_o have_v not_o beléeve_v the_o gospel_n but_o resist_v it_o we_o must_v needs_o conclude_v that_o the_o world_n shall_v be_v judge_v by_o the_o gospel_n now_o it_o be_v there_o say_v unto_o we_o that_o when_o we_o have_v receive_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n with_o a_o true_a and_o lively_a faith_n we_o must_v not_o stand_v in_o doubt_n of_o his_o favour_n and_o love_n to_o we_o ward_n neither_o yet_o doubt_v that_o jesus_n christ_n will_v not_o stand_v to_o the_o thing_n which_o he_o have_v offer_v for_o we_o and_o for_o our_o redemption_n and_o therefore_o all_o they_o which_o do_v believe_v in_o the_o gospel_n may_v without_o all_o doubt_n rejoice_v that_o jesus_n christ_n will_v come_v to_o be_v their_o redeemer_n and_o this_o assurance_n as_o i_o have_v already_o say_v god_n make_v we_o so_o that_o we_o refuse_v not_o such_o a_o benefit_n as_o for_o the_o power_n and_o glory_n of_o jesus_n christ_n which_o saint_n paul_n here_o speak_v of_o it_o be_v as_o have_v be_v before_o say_v to_o this_o end_n that_o his_o come_n may_v be_v the_o more_o terrible_a to_o all_o incredulous_a and_o rebellious_a person_n and_o be_v this_o a_o small_a matter_n to_o say_v that_o jesus_n christ_n will_v come_v accompany_v with_o his_o angel_n in_o flame_a fire_n and_o with_o a_o incomprehensible_a majesty_n thunder_v and_o lighten_v upon_o all_o those_o that_o be_v his_o enemy_n by_o this_o we_o see_v that_o saint_n paul_n his_o meaning_n here_o be_v to_o admonish_v all_o faithless_a people_n if_o they_o be_v to_o be_v holpen_v to_o beware_v how_o they_o continue_v still_o without_o amendment_n notwithstanding_o because_o we_o see_v that_o such_o as_o satan_n lead_v and_o who_o heart_n he_o harden_v do_v nothing_o else_o but_o make_v a_o mock_n at_o the_o threaten_n of_o god_n let_v we_o for_o our_o part_n make_v our_o profit_n thereby_o and_o when_o we_o hear_v that_o jesus_n christ_n will_v come_v in_o such_o a_o fearful_a manner_n as_o that_o he_o will_v so_o fear_v and_o bridle_v we_o that_o when_o satan_n shall_v go_v about_o to_o spur_n and_o prick_v we_o forward_o to_o withdraw_v we_o from_o the_o obedience_n of_o the_o gospel_n we_o may_v be_v able_a to_o think_v thus_o with_o ourselves_o and_o say_v how_o fare_v it_o with_o we_o how_o headlong_o run_v we_o into_o destruction_n what_o mean_v
we_o to_o provoke_v he_o against_o we_o unto_o who_o all_o majesty_n power_n glory_n and_o dominion_n be_v give_v to_o cast_v down_o even_o into_o the_o pit_n of_o hell_n as_o many_o as_o resist_v he_o now_o if_o we_o thorough_o consider_v of_o this_o without_o doubt_n we_o will_v keep_v so_o good_a a_o hand_n of_o ourselves_o as_o that_o all_o the_o fleshly_a lust_n and_o temptation_n of_o the_o world_n shall_v never_o be_v able_a to_o prevail_v against_o us._n saint_n paul_n also_o mean_v to_o make_v a_o comparison_n betwixt_o the_o first_o come_v of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o the_o second_o why_o then_o do_v the_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a contemner_n of_o the_o gospel_n so_o bold_o lift_v up_o themselves_o as_o that_o they_o become_v dissolute_a and_o stark_o stare_v mad_a sure_o it_o be_v because_o they_o hear_v that_o while_n jesus_n christ_n be_v here_o on_o earth_n he_o take_v upon_o he_o the_o state_n of_o a_o servant_n 2.7_o phil._n 2.7_o yea_o and_o abase_v himself_o and_o saint_n paul_n say_v even_o unto_o this_o most_o shameful_a and_o slanderous_a death_n and_o because_o the_o enemy_n of_o god_n understand_v such_o a_o infirmity_n to_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n they_o take_v upon_o they_o to_o speak_v thus_o wicked_o and_o furious_o of_o he_o as_o we_o see_v it_o be_v even_o so_o howbeit_o they_o see_v not_o that_o as_o he_o suffer_v as_o he_o be_v man_n that_o he_o likewise_o rise_v again_o through_o the_o power_n of_o his_o spirit_n for_o he_o then_o in_o such_o sort_n show_v forth_o his_o glory_n as_o that_o both_o great_a and_o small_a aught_o to_o tremble_v thereat_o 13.4_o 2._o cor._n 13.4_o but_o if_o these_o faithless_a people_n be_v not_o able_a to_o understand_v the_o power_n that_o appear_v in_o the_o resurrection_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n let_v they_o give_v ear_n to_o that_o which_o be_v here_o speak_v to_o wit_n that_o he_o will_v come_v in_o glory_n for_o in_o his_o first_o come_n he_o appear_v come_v to_o be_v our_o judge_n he_o be_v judge_v and_o condemn_v that_o we_o may_v be_v deliver_v from_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n and_o be_v pardon_v of_o all_o our_o sin_n then_o will_v he_o not_o questionless_a come_v in_o such_o humble_a sort_n but_o will_v come_v with_o his_o angel_n in_o glory_n and_o this_o be_v the_o meaning_n which_o saint_n paul_n will_v have_v we_o note_v to_o the_o end_n the_o wicked_a and_o faithless_a may_v not_o take_v occasion_n to_o contemn_v this_o his_o last_o come_n under_o colour_n the_o jesus_n christ_n once_o appear_v as_o he_o be_v man_n like_v unto_o we_o and_o be_v make_v like_o unto_o a_o worm_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o it_o be_v say_v in_o the_o psalm_n and_o as_o isaiah_n say_v he_o be_v disfigure_v from_o top_n to_o toe_n all_o to_o wound_v and_o that_o for_o our_o redemption_n for_o since_o he_o accomplish_v that_o which_o the_o justice_n of_o god_n require_v there_o remain_v nothing_o but_o that_o he_o shall_v show_v himself_o in_o this_o glory_n which_o be_v appoint_v for_o he_o for_o we_o know_v as_o saint_n paul_n say_v that_o he_o have_v give_v he_o a_o name_n above_o all_o name_n 2.9_o phil._n 2.9_o that_o all_o the_o creature_n in_o heaven_n earth_n and_o hell_n shall_v bow_v unto_o he_o that_o every_o thing_n shall_v tremble_v at_o his_o excellent_a majesty_n which_o also_o the_o despiser_n of_o his_o gospel_n shall_v well_o know_v to_o their_o pain_n though_o late_o first_o thus_o we_o see_v what_o the_o apostle_n saint_n paul_n his_o pretence_n be_v when_o he_o say_v that_o his_o come_n shall_v be_v fearful_a let_v we_o also_o eftsoon_o mark_v that_o which_o follow_v that_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o appear_v marvellous_a and_o to_o be_v glorify_v in_o his_o saint_n now_o it_o be_v not_o for_o nothing_o that_o saint_n paul_n set_v down_o this_o say_n for_o what_o be_v we_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o abide_v the_o presence_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n whenas_o he_o shall_v come_v that_o if_o we_o be_v of_o the_o faithful_a sort_n that_o we_o must_v not_o be_v afraid_a at_o the_o appear_v of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n neither_o yet_o wax_v sorrowful_a and_o melancholic_a at_o the_o brightness_n of_o his_o majesty_n and_o why_o so_o because_o say_v he_o he_o will_v be_v glorify_v and_o make_v wonderful_a in_o his_o saint_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v have_v say_v that_o the_o mention_n which_o he_o before_o make_v of_o the_o flamb_v fire_n and_o of_o the_o horror_n and_o fear_n be_v not_o to_o discourage_v the_o faithful_a one_o as_o though_o they_o desire_v not_o the_o come_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o as_o though_o they_o hold_v not_o up_o their_o head_n as_o often_o as_o they_o hear_v it_o speak_v of_o because_o he_o shall_v come_v to_o redeem_v they_o and_o this_o be_v a_o doctrine_n which_o be_v very_o common_a in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n to_o wit_n that_o our_o lord_n join_v these_o two_o thing_n together_o that_o he_o will_v come_v to_o be_v revenge_v of_o his_o enemy_n and_o to_o deliver_v his_o people_n that_o he_o will_v come_v to_o save_v all_o those_o that_o have_v serve_v and_o honour_v he_o and_o to_o cast_v down_o and_o confound_v all_o those_o who_o have_v harden_v themselves_o against_o he_o and_o his_o word_n let_v we_o now_o then_o keep_v in_o mind_n that_o this_o terrible_a description_n which_o here_o before_o have_v be_v set_v down_o be_v not_o to_o make_v we_o sorrowful_a and_o melancholic_a but_o rather_o to_o make_v we_o joyful_a and_o glad_a whenas_o we_o see_v what_o love_n and_o favour_n god_n bear_v us._n behold_v our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n will_v come_v and_o that_o terrible_o and_o wherefore_o will_v he_o do_v so_o forsooth_o even_o to_o throw_v down_o headlong_o all_o his_o enemy_n and_o to_o take_v vengeance_n of_o all_o the_o shame_n and_o affliction_n which_o we_o have_v abide_v how_o so_o i_o beseech_v you_o be_v we_o worthy_a that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n shall_v it_o be_v asmuch_o as_n if_o he_o have_v say_v that_o he_o will_v come_v to_o make_v we_o partaker_n of_o his_o glory_n that_o whatsoever_o be_v in_o he_o worthy_a reverence_n and_o honour_n all_o
